Kei Coffee House Is Taking the OC’s Coffee Scene to the Next Level | Eater LA

"Another Ho Chi Minh City coffee shop named as a primary inspiration for Kei Coffee House, I note Mille Mille’s influence on the concept alongside Running Bean." - Cathy Chaplin

this spot was absolutely crowded when we got here! they have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as upstairs indoor seating its quite spacious but if you come during peak hour there wont be many available tables! they have a decent variety of patisseries and cakes to select from, as well as a decent drink/coffee menu and even ice cream! they sell the Salt Bread here too! first time trying.. i didnt see that it was anything special so im not sure if these guys dont do salt bread well or if its just the general dish didnt fancy me.

Quick, friendly and respectful staff. Quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The oolong cake is a bit too sweet for my taste, so it’s best shared or paired with a not-too-sweet drink. The salt bread is simple but tasty.

We visited this café today, and wow — the coffee was amazing! The tiramisu-flavored croissant was absolutely outstanding, way above expectations. The tiramisu dessert itself was also fantastic, and the ice cream with a tiny croissant on top was super cute and super tasty. We planned to share one dessert between the two of us… but ended up getting four! 😄 We’ll definitely come back here again tomorrow. Highly recommend this café if you’re ever in Ho Chi Minh City!

I went here with extremely high expectations and was let down by their collection of croissants. I expected it to be a bigger and better collection of interesting croissants. Most of their croissants did not appeal to me so I ordered a plain croissant, which was quite nice but not out of this world. The interior of this place is quite nice though.

I love the ice cream so much, really!! I came here twice. The first time, I tried ube and vanilla croissant flavour, they were tastyyyy, i like ube but i think it is out of season currently, the croissant in vanilla were a little bit tough but not so much of a deal for me, ice cream is more important =))). This time I tried brownie chocolate and lotus biscoff, and i gotta say, I’ve never tried lotus biscoff at anywhere that tasted excellent like mille mille, it was great, not so cinnamonish, i love it so much. Brownie was really good too, a little bit sweet and bitter. The most important thing is the texture, creamyyyyy, not icyyy at all

The atmosphere is quite lovely — the high ceiling lets the light pour in beautifully. The coffee is good. The service, however, moves like molasses — if the molasses were also a grumpy old man. The ham in the ham croissant is of good quality, but the croissant as a whole tastes rather like a lonely uncle’s heel scraping at a nail salon. The truffle croissant is ideal for those who dislike matcha, as the flavour is entirely absent. The strawberry croissant, on the other hand, is perfect if you wish to keep birds away from your berries by making them completely inedible. The paper cups for water felt a bit cheap, though I do understand the need for thriftiness in this economy. The butter used in the croissants tastes like the sort of New Zealand export they wouldn’t use themselves. All in all, though, a good experience — I’ll certainly come again.

Great vibe coffeeshop in a small alley near Ho Con Rua right in the heart of D1. Spacious, good cakes and drinks! I personally like the Yuzu drinks tho 🤤

This is one of the nice and spacious place to enjoy your crossiant and coffee. We had banana Nutella, lasagna and cheese garlic butter crossiants. For ice coffee, we ordered matcha latte, dripped white coffee and pandan coffee. The pandan coffee is surprising rich, and the lasagna crossiant was surprisingly tasty. The food was delicious and great tasting, and the picturesque deco and setting really enhances your appetite. Certainly one of the places to come back for more, with a gigantic crossiant as its backdrop. Too bad the crossiant was not hanging from the rooftop like the other branch, but the deco is nevertheless tastefully done. Coupled with nice city music, makes for an idillic afternoon in this bustling city.
