Indian Establishment Spice Palette Now Open in Mount Pleasant | Eater Carolinas

"A popular brunch spot that recently opened a second James Island location next to the Terrace Theater, offering the same downtown favorites with playful additions like unicorn grit tater tots and breakfast shots — including a tequila-based shot described as tasting like French Toast Crunch cereal milk." - Erin Perkins

Miller’s All Day in Charleston is a must-try place that truly lives up to its reputation. From the moment we sat down, Jason, our amazing server, made the experience even better. He had that warm southern hospitality and charm that instantly made us feel welcome. He was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about both the menu and the Charleston area, offering great suggestions on where to go and what to try. My son ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious. The way they combined the crispy chicken, omelette egg, and flavorful sauce came together perfectly. I decided to step out of my comfort zone and ordered the chicken salad, which was light, fresh, and full of flavor. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere inside is bright and lively, with décor that feels like a mix between the 1950s and modern charm. We sat at the bar, which was comfortable and gave us a nice view of both the indoor dining space and the covered outdoor patio, another great spot to enjoy your meal. They even have a little espresso station where you can order cappuccinos or lattes, both of which are delicious. And I can’t forget the homestyle potatoes. Fried in peanut oil, they were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and tender on the inside. I highly recommend giving them a try.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! I had cranberry juice and the Miller’s Plate with eggs over easy, grits, bacon, and a biscuit. Mark had chocolate milk and the Miller’s Plate with scrambled eggs, home fries, bacon, and a biscuit. We also shared a side of their veggie frittata. Everything was delicious—super fresh eggs, and the biscuit was absolutely huge, light, and fluffy. Our total was $47 for two full plates, drinks, and a side — a great value. The place was very busy, and we were told the wait would be about 30 minutes, but it ended up being less, which was a nice surprise. This spot is locally owned, with another location in Charleston where they do all the baking, plus they run a food truck. The staff are bright and cheerful, and our waitress Sherry was wonderful—she helped us put together our meal in a way that gave us the most for our money. They also offer Bloody Marys, mimosas, and specialty coffees. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and bright. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, and this place set the tone perfectly—I left hoping the rest of the day could be just as good. Check out the high-end silverware and napkins. Highly recommend!

Had to wait an hour to be seated after getting there at 11:00, so I would suggest getting there early! Interior is super cute and has a little photo booth that you can use for $5. Definitely worth the wait! The grilled cheese and soup was to die for—I love sourdough! The salsa on the side of biscuits and gravy was super good, and the potatoes in the potatas braves were cooked perfectly. The only complaint would be the $2 charge for adding chocolate chips to the pancakes and extra $6 for a side of bacon. Would definitely come back!

Google
Excellent food for breakfast, the whole family enjoyed their meals. Very family oriented, we had a wide range of dishes and they were all delicious. Promt service, fast coffee refills. They have a 90min max duration, it gets busy, for good reason. The cornmeal pancakes were the big hit , though everything was delicious.

Google
I had the Hot Honey Chicken, and it was absolutely delicious! The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and the hot honey glaze added the perfect balance of sweetness and heat. Every bite was packed with flavor, and I would definitely order it again. The atmosphere was also great—lively and energetic. The place was busy, but it only added to the welcoming and vibrant vibe. Despite the crowd, the service was friendly and efficient. Overall, I had a fantastic experience at Miller All Day. Great food, great atmosphere, and a spot I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a delicious meal in a fun setting. I’ll definitely be back!

Google
Food was incredible! Best cinnamon roll of my life—must order!! Our service was so amazing, Holly made our experience perfect! MAD is a neighborhood fave :)

LM 7.

Google
Holly was fantastic, as were the potatoes that are raved about. I had the steak and it was very flavorful and much better than what most breakfast places serve as "country fried steak" (usually packaged frozen and fried).

Kinsey D.

Google
Food and service were amazing! Highly recommend getting a cinnamon roll (very big 5 of us ate it ) biscuits and gravy were also great ! server Holly was friendly and attentive !! Recommend visiting if you are in the area :)

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Great Food, Super friendly hosts and servers. Worth the wait if there is a line or try and grab a seat at the bar. I don't believe you will be disappointed by getting a bite at Millers All Day! Sorry the pics are a bit eaten as I couldn't stop myself from diving in!

Yelp
Great friendly service. Cinnamon roll was quite literally the size of my child's head. We shared a plate and it was plenty!

Yelp
Fantastic service! Very friendly and personable staff. We had breakfast at 2:00 in the afternoon and it was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
Great place for a classic breakfast with a southern twist. I ordered the Mad Patatas Bravas and it was phenomenal. The staff were so kind. We were given a 30 minute wait but were given a table in 10 minutes on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is charming and the patio is covered for the winter. Definitely a worthwhile place for brunch!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice menu but a bit limited. Appetizers are great but extremely limited to sweets. Potatoes are always a bit too browned and overly seasoned. Shrimp and grits are the star of the show. Burgers very nice. Service is outstanding. Cocktails and coffees readily available. Very relaxed atmosphere
google avatar

Yelp
Service was so good. It's a bummer you have to wait and they don't take reservations but other than that this place can't be beat! And if Christian is bartending getting one of his espresso martinis is a must!

Yelp
Had a great time here ! I saw this online and had to check it out when I got to the area . I came and selected the hot honey BEC . It was huge but so delicious. The serving is pretty hefty and is very filling. The restaurant was busy the Friday I visited but still was able to be seated in a timely manner no more than 20 mintues. The decor inside is cute and quaint and very welcoming . Our server was very informative and helped me with choosing my food option . I did a mocha cold brew and a French toast shooter . Both were simply just okay nothing to really rave about. Outside of that it was a great experience can't wait to revisit

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! The wait is usually pretty long but the food it 100% worth the wait! We had some out of town guest so we needed a larger table, but still the wait this time was only about 45 minutes. As soon as we were seated the server came over to take our drink order. Naturally we had to order the cinnamon roll. And decided to also try the Banana bread. Omg!!! The cinnamon roll is to die for it is huge and delicious! The chocolate hazelnut cream cheese on the banana bread was out of this world! I ordered the signature fried chicken biscuit. The fried chicken was very big and fried perfectly! The combination of the pimento cheese and pepper jam make this one of my favorites! My husband had the country fried steak and eggs. The hash browns and gravy were amazing! This will definitely be in our rotation of restaurants! Great service and fantastic amazing food! You won't leave hungry!

Yelp
My favorite meal during five days in Charleston - that's saying something! Couldn't resist the fried bologna biscuit and it did not disappoint. One of the best biscuits I've ever had (and I am VERY into biscuits) - huge, tall, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Plus egg, cheese, a thick slice of excellent bologna, caramelized onions(!) and herb aioli. Delicious. I tried a friend's grits and immediately spent $15 on a bag of them so I could make some at home. Service is very professional but casual and friendly. Just a great restaurant. Cute gift shop/florist next door.

Yelp
Stopped in on the way to folly island on a weekday around lunch time and had no problem finding a table! Really great menu- it has something for the savory and sweet fans alike. Our server was friendly and super helpful! We really enjoyed our meal and would definitely come back!
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here a few times and it is always amazing! Wonderful staff, cute and cozy atmosphere, plus the food is delicious and creative. Today we had the waffles, banana bread, and the Mad Patatas Bravas. All were perfectly done!

Yelp
Had a great brunch at Millers in James Island. It was a busy Saturday so I do recommend coming a bit early. However, the flower shop was open next door and it was wonderful to have time and walk the shop. We very much enjoyed sitting at the bar and Katie, our server, was extremely friendly and wonderful. We enjoyed the cocktails she made us and her kindness. We are slow eaters and she didn't rush us at all. The hot honey chicken was the star of the show! Perfect texture, full of flavor and not overly spicy. Honestly the best fried chicken I've had in a while. The only dish we didn't love was the frittata. There were a lot of veggies which I didn't anticipate. Otherwise, all wonderful! We'll be back for sure to explore the menu some more.

Yelp
This place is consistently great! Our server behind the bar was fast and so pleasant despite being very busy. The food takes basic home meals and elevates it, making for a special brunch every time I go. The atmosphere is beautiful and the coffee is strong. The home fries--listen, you won't find them like this anywhere else. Can't wait to come back!

Kathy L.

Yelp
Loved their classic bloodys and all the food was all sooo good. Started with pimento cheese plate then our table loved their burger, biscuit and Grace & ordered scrambled eggs, phenomenal house potatoes!! Thanks Millers

Yelp
Before we left Charleston area and headed back home to Florida we stopped in to Millers All Day for breakfast. Wow this was a great breakfast! My wife and loved the pancakes (3 cornmeal pancakes with hickory syrup). Don't think we have ever had them made with cornmeal!!!! Awesome! The regular coffee was really good as well. We normally get Lattes at places. * Our waiter did a great job taking care of us. We arrived just in time before they started getting busy. We loved how the restaurant was decorated. It was also very clean and the staff were very friendly. We definitely recommend Millers All Day!

Yelp
Cute diner. Busy but not noisy. Food was good. No complaints. We went for brunch and sour biscuits were big, lol! Fluffy and moist. The flavors were delicious

Yelp
Absolutely a fabulous breakfast restaurant: high quality food, beautiful ambiance, delicious menu! It has my favorite yogurt parfait of all the places ever been (and I've been to many cities and countries)!
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible went here three days in a row while on vacation. Great coffee, great food, great service. The spicy chicken BEC was so good. Banana bread is also a must.
google avatar

Meg C.

Yelp
Super cute inside. Their food is tasty too but the menu is a little small for my preference. The staff is friendly and hard working as it's almost always busy. Be prepared to wait but it's worth it. Parking lot in front and tucked behind. It can also get very busy.
google avatar

Jade D.

Yelp
This place time and again never disappoints! The hot honey B.E.C is to die for, we get it every time. Today, I tried the signature chicken biscuit with hot honey on the side and the combination was incredible. We always try to sit outside if possible, the vibe is amazing. We got here when it was pretty crowded and only had to wait ~20 minutes for a table for 5, worth the wait!
google avatar

Alexandra K.

Yelp
Yummy, yummy, yummy! What an overall great spot! I usually come here for their amazing coffee and unique flavors, but today we decided to try the food, and wow, it did not disappoint. It is your typical American-style dish, but everything hit the spot and definitely left us both happy and full!
google avatar

Frank G.

Yelp
Is it possible for a place to get better and better? It is! I never thought I'd say that, or even give a review like this. Over the years I've noticed a professional growth, one geared to the customer. Food is superb, very large quantities. My wife and I order and split it. The chicken sandwich was to die for. Of course anything you order off breakfast menu is terrific. Extremely clean place with people going out of there way to accommodate you. Remember, very large portions. Parking is never a problem. Yelp
Really great food! I wish the prices were a tad less, but great quality, so I would have to expect that! The cinnamon roll is DELISH. And the bowls are awesome.
google avatar

Gabriel M.

Yelp
Fantastic spot for breakfast! Similar to their downtown location, the vibe is immaculate and very stylish. The BEC sandwich was delicious, as was the King Street Bowl. All of their dishes are pretty large portions. Service was perfect! Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Mary K.

Yelp
Love this place!! There is usually a wait for a table on the weekends but it is worth it! I love the grilled cheese and tomato soup-such comfort food. There are also solid breakfast options which my husband prefers.
google avatar

Wes A.

Yelp
After such a bad experience at another local restaurant, this place redeemed our hopes in great Charleston eateries! Our waitress was amazing! My son and I got the chicken biscuits! Sides are extra and they won't tell you! Buuut it's basically the same price! Potatoes were delicious and I added an egg sso plus a side of sausage gravy! Great combo!! Kitchen understood exactly what I was trying to achieve! Great feeling that the kitchen gets you ! Ambiance was small but bistro like! We got put at the door on a winters day , but felt very comfy! My bride got soup and a grilled cheese! A redeeming experience! Happy new year!

Yelp
My husband and I had breakfast at Millers in James Island, we were seated out on the patio, it seemed to be a busy morning, our server was okay. Most times we share a meal, but this time we decided not to because we previously had a great experience at their King St location. We ordered the Millers plate, and here's the rundown: The potatoes were served in large chunks, not warm, and had the texture and flavor of being a day old. The biscuit wasn't warm and had a tough outer shell--I suspect it had been reheated. The strawberry butter had a hint of flavor. The eggs had an off taste. The chicken sausage was okay, at least it seemed fresh off the grill. The bacon was overcooked, dark brown, and looked like jerky. Overall, the food was bland and disappointing. We won't be returning to this location.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Millers is a great choice for bringing your pup. Food was delicious, parking was easy, and covered patio made it easy to bring the pup. Service was great and they made sure to bring water for my girl. Great experience and will definitely visit again
google avatar

Adjoa K.

Yelp
Quick stop during Charleston food and wine. Could've had more seasoning on the dishes. Biscuit was a bit dry but still flavorful. Was good for the time being but needed to get more food. The space is self is beautiful and service was pretty slow that day although we were the only ones there.
google avatar

Amanda G.

Yelp
Cute place! Walked right in and grabbed the only available table outside but they have a nice breeze so it was perfect! The hot chicken donut was very good! Kind of a ton of sweet but still very delicious! The potatoes... yes please! They're like quadruple fried tasting little puffs of potato. Fast service, friendly people, plenty of parking, what's not to love?!
google avatar

Daniela Z.

Yelp
Came here for a brunch date with my friend and I love that the James Island location has a patio! It's also ideal to come during the week to beat the crowd. Check out the pics to see what we ordered! Highly recommend splitting entrees to get a variety. I also couldn't help myself and got a bunch of pastries from the fresh bakery to take home to my family. I'll for sure be bringing in visitors from out of town to this spot!
google avatar

Haneen O.

Yelp
This was the first place I visited in Charleston, and it was a good one! We wanted some breakfast, and saw that this was a second location they opened closer to us. I loved the decor and ambiance here, very beachy and welcoming. Parking was plentiful. I decided to order the hot honey chicken donut, which has hot honey sauce, house pickles, peach preserves, cinnamon sugar donut entree, as I usually go for something sweet and something savory. This meant I could get it in one go! My brother previously had this plate and liked it. He ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup - wished the sandwich had more flavor but said it was good otherwise. My sandwich was yummy, sweet and spicy and messy. It would be perfect with a side of mixed greens to balance the flavors. Our server was lovely and I was asking him the meaning behind the name of this restaurant; basically it's named miller after the owner's occupation (mills wheat) and the all day refers to serving breakfast all day. McDonalds, watch out! Overall, a lovely place to eat and we enjoyed our outing here.
google avatar

Meg R.

Yelp
I loved everything about Millers All Day! Having come to the previous business in this space, I have to say they've done a beautiful job with renovations. It is so bright and clean with a patio area, large open bar space and tables in the back. I joined my mom and brother there for an early breakfast before heading back to Charleston, and I'm so glad I did! It was hard for me to decide on what to order because there were so many yummy options! They also have a full bar and pretty much any kind of coffee drink you'd like. Our waitress was great at giving recommendations. I opted for the grilled cheese and tomato soup- a classic! It was delicious. I loved the flavors of the soup and the sandwich was super cheesy and dippable. My brother got the frittata and demolished the whole thing. My mom had already eaten but got an order of the cheese grits for us to share, which were really great at well. I'd highly recommend going to Millers All Day and I'm so glad that they're a new addition to James Island. I can't wait to go back for a Bloody Mary and to sample more of the delectable menu!
google avatar

Debra K.

Yelp
I've been to Miller's all day several times, the food has always been good and presented in a timely manner, and our servers have always been top-notch
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
Let me start by saying my husband and I are super fans of the nutella cream donuts and today were not the same as the downtown Millers at all. Nothing like spending $3.75 for a FILLED donut and getting one tablespoon of filling on the very edge. Now, the ambiance and the staff were absolutely delightful. We sat at the outside bar and despite the super chilly day, the heaters kept us nice and toasty. What we got: the MAD casserole. Definitely not what I had expected and though it looked small, it was very filling. I wish it came out steaming hot, but warm was fine. We also got a side of potatoes which were tasty, but I had to ask for the sauce. I feel like if I didn't know any better at Millers, today would have been a sadder experience. I will definitely give this location another chance as it is so much more convenient for us, but dang James Island, please do better!
google avatar

Harold N.

Yelp
This was much easier than trying to go Downtown. We sat outside and got waited on almost immediately because as soon as we sat lots of people started showing up. Place was really good to go to. Food was delicious and expected. Staffing was the best. Our server was really friendly. Love what y'all have done to the place.
google avatar

Julia R.

Yelp
I had never been to Miller's All Day prior to visiting the James Island location. I have been there three times now- the frittata is good but even better with bacon! We enjoyed banana bread, cinnamon roll and a variety of breakfast items. We preferred the cinnamon roll over the banana bread. The portions were excellent...you will not leave hungry! My only reason for 4 stars is that I think the prices are a bit high for the location, especially for a mimosa. Other than that, I love the place!
google avatar

Juliana D.

Yelp
Cute breakfast spot on James Island. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My family and I started with the banana bread. It was pretty good. I ordered an espresso and it was nice and creamy but a little too acidic. For my meal, I had waffles and asked for a side of the hot fried chicken. The waffles were so good and sweet! They had bananas, caramel, and meringue on top. The chicken was nice and spicy. My mom loved the hot fried chicken donut. It was a piece of their chicken on a cinnamon sugar donut with some peach jam on top! It looked soo good!
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
This expansion of a downtown brunch spot adjoins a retro theater in a smallish parking lot on the outskirts of the city. Unlike the original, it is at least open long enough for an early dinner, though I'm still not sure it's really living up to its name. I tried to get breakfast but couldn't stomach an hour wait (not atypical of the downtown spot either), but it was easier to get a table for dinner. The menu has a few differences from the original, but is still locally oriented. While they have some fantastic indulgences, I settled on a salad. It was as delightfully varied as I'd hoped, with sharp contrasts between the (purposefully) stale croutons, sharp pickled peppers, and a rich smear of feta around the edge. The local field peas added a hearty note. I was not completely bereft of sweets, however, having added a rich chocolate peppermint cookie to match the season. They'll have to open a few more locations before they can match demand for their beautiful and distinctive brunch plates.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
The food was great, but the service was terrible. Additionally, my credit card was stolen shortly after my visit there. While I won't say for certain that it happened at Miller's, it's suspicious since it was the last place I went. The waitress barely attended to us, and the charges that appeared were for local transactions.
google avatar

Grace P.

Yelp
Hooray! So excited to see this place open on James Island. I came on their second day in business, and the line was out the door. Luckily they are taking to-go orders as well. Staff was so friendly and the place was sparkling clean and full of eager customers. They have great hours, so I'll definitely return for a proper sit down meal once things slow down a bit. Welcome to James Island, Millers All Day!
google avatar

Denise C.

Yelp
Unfortunately I ended up with food poisoning. I was sick for 36 hours. Did get a refund but was treated like a criminal for asking for my money back.
google avatar

Victoria B.

Yelp
After a long awaited opening, Millers JI is officially up and running. Went at 5:30 for happy hour/dinner since they don't take reservations. Got right in and it was pretty empty, although it was a Tuesday. Appreciated $5 glasses of wine for happy hour and I posted the menu - seemed like good deals. Food is creative but I think they need to expand their non-breakfast options. No idea how they plan on being open til 8. Atmosphere is super cute and staff was attentive and chill. Definitely filled a need for this area and excited to go to weekday breakfast!
google avatar

Danielle J.

Yelp
Super cute place. Good service. Wasn't wow'd by the food or coffee. The quiche special severely lacked flavor. I do hope to give it another try with different menu items to improve my impression of this popular breakfast spot.

Yelp
This place was on our must eat list, thanks to all you Yelper's suggestions! Being that we were only in Charleston for the weekend we didn't want to wait a long time to eat, since we were there for the beaches. After doing a bit of googling we noticed this location was actually close to us and on the way to the beach. When we got there we didn't even need to put our name in, and got seated right away! We sat in the outside patio and it was great, open with the fresh air, but still the Miller's vibe! We ordered coffee and a donut to start. Coffee was excellent - the donut was good. Very sugary, but good! I got the Miller's plate and the biscuit and grits were wonderful!! The butter that comes with the biscuit was great, and I'm not a huge grits fan but these were awesome! The tri-color is super fun too! Eggs were eggs, as usual and the bacon was good! Can't remember what my sister got, but she enjoyed hers too! Definitely recommend Miller's, and this location for less of a wait!! We'll definitely be back when we're in town next!

Juliana L.

Yelp
The frittata was flavorful and delicious! Service was excellent. Their dog friendly patio was the icing on the cake.

Yelp
A fabulous brunch experience!!! From the moment we walked in the door! Jenna took wonderful care of us! Espresso Martinis were on point! My wife enjoyed a delicious Club and I had Biscuits and Gravy with a piece of Fried Chicken, eggs over easy. We shared the HASH BROWN POTATOES-Incredible!!! Food came out quickly, delicious and piping hot! Even the busser was quick to remove plates and glasses. Management checked in as well! Highly recommend and we will be returning!
