I would not recommend ordering wine futures through Millesima. I’ve worked with several brokers and Millesima has made up 90% of my frustration. They kept getting order details wrong, double charged me for months at a time, will not respond to emails within two weeks/month, and will not answer any questions when you call them on the phone. I can understand that mistakes happen, but then it’s all about how you recover. There was no recovery from Millesima, just radio silence and increased frustration for me.

Google
Beautiful new location on the corner of 66 and second they have a large selection of wines from $15 up to hundreds +++ By far the nicest build out I have ever seen in NY

Love this wine store. They have variety of wines to choose from & every price range. This is my favorite Italian wine, priced at reasonable. You should give this wine store a try.

Google
The wine is excellent and fairly priced. The service is the best I have experienced in a wine store. We had a shipment that went astray, and the sales person was quickly on the case to make things right.

Google
Best selection of large format and 2nd wine Bordeaux! Fast friendly service. Insane inventory. GREAT prices. I am very impressed and more able to share the wines I like at parties because of the price and selection here. I am SO happy to have been recommended Millesima for all of my wine needs. Millesima - A Somms best friend!

I was disappointed with my recent experience at Millesima. Yesterday I purchased a bottle of sake for my boyfriend but realized later it wasn’t the one he prefers. When I returned to the store to exchange it, I was told that exchanges are against the law. While I understand the need to follow regulations, it was frustrating that this policy wasn’t posted anywhere in the store or ever mentioned when going back and forth on which bottle to get. I had walked back in the freezing cold with the unopened bottle, hoping for a simple exchange, but instead of making an exception, they didn’t, which put a bad taste in my mouth. It’s an unfortunate experience that makes me not want to return, despite the store’s nice selection.

With Morrell closing their Rockefeller store front and Sherry Lehmann long gone bankrupt, Millesima might be the best store in Manhattan for French Wines. Good for wines at all price ranges. They have great stock of older wines whose provenance is without doubt. Competitive prices.

Google
Just beautiful, like a wine museum. Unfortunately the prices for desirable hard to get wines are top of the market for the most selections. But if you just picked up that Basquiat at the gallery and wanted to grab a bottle to celebrate, they will definitely have something you like. They know their neighborhood, and presumably their customer base. A likely replacement for the Sherry Lehman crowd now that they are in bankruptcy.

Yelp
I've enjoyed ordering French wine online from this shop. They have a huge warehouse in Bordeaux that stores the wine perfectly that they get directly from the chateaux. The nice thing is even though the wine may be 20 years old you know that it's been stored in perfect conditions. They have a great selection and prices are decent. Michael has helped me with several orders and his knowledge and service is amazing.

Yelp
I ordered from Millesima USA last Sunday and received my order today, Friday. Took about 5 days for Ground option -- not bad. Overall experience with this order was good! (Hopefully, I don't jinx myself on future orders!). I have started collecting Champagne and been collecting ones that came with boxes/presentation cases and was worried that it would come without it (some online sellers show pictures of the bottles with the boxes but when I called to confirm, it actually didn't come with it). I was pleasantly surprised to see that with Millesima, it did! The only feedback that I probably have is on shipping fees. Perhaps have a loyalty program on an annual fee with free shipping benefits? Here's hoping. :)

Yelp
Was told in October 2022 that my 2019 Bordeaux futures were on the container being unloaded, and to settle up my shipping charges and they would be sent shortly. After over a month of no word, reached out again, told it was their mistake and it was actually on the next container and would be shipped in a couple weeks. Fast forward to early February (after more silence) and was told on the phone by Luis he had them and was sending them the next day. Early March and guess what? More silence and no wine. Seriously wonder if I'm getting the runaround and if I will ever get my wine. Horrendous customer service.

Yelp
I had a very good experience. People were very nice and prices were very good. Much better service than Astor Wine and Spirits by a LOT.

Yelp
Rude service. Stale/bad wine. And to make it worse, they have a poor attitude towards customers. Used to be a goto but has gone down. Stay away unless you want to play bad wine roulette and you'll be sure to hit a jackpot!

Yelp
This is not a business you should trust. I ordered a shipment of wine from them and paid them over $300. After receiving no communication for 5 months, they reached out to me to tell me that I would have to pay another %15 plus shipping. This had something to do with tariffs enforced by the government after I placed my order. They told me they wouldn't send me my purchase unless I paid the extra money. I really don't understand why this is my responsibility to pay. If they had place my order sooner they wouldn't owe this. I have never paid for any product in my life, to then have the retailer come ask me for more money after the sale. This is unethical and not the way a company should do business.

Yelp
I ordered a few bottles of Bordeaux . They were all in stock . I was told the order was in and I went to the store to pick up and was told it was not ready because it needed to be ok'd from France . It made no sense , the wine was there on 2nd ave in NYC. It shows that I paid for it. Give me the wine and you deal with France ! What ever that means. Promises were made and broken .Total lack of care from staff except for a man named Zack . Who cared and worked to fix it. My advice to Zack and anyone reading this review- go to Sherry Lehman where there are many people like Zack and ordering is professional and headache free. Still, thank you Zack

Yelp
Judging by reviews, this may be a decent retail shop. Beware ordering online however. Millesima is very active in trying to cash in on internet business. But they do not take seriously the responsibilities that go along with doing so. I had ordered some futures that arrived early this spring. After several weeks of delays due to some unknown "issues with the shipper," my wine was shipped to an adjacent state exactly one day prior to a 3-day heat wave. Needless to say, the wine was spoiled with obvious stains on the labels from leakage. At $900 for the case, I would have expected a bit more care in handling from a "reputable" retailer. There are other details to this story constituting one mess-up after another. Nevertheless, Millesima would take no responsibility for the matter. Rather someone responded to the escalation by distorting the issue with misinformation. I spent several years working at a wine shop. I shop online with dozens of other reputable retailers. All I can say is think twice before falling for that Millesima Facebook ad. This is not an online retailer.

Yelp
This store offers a terrific selection and features wineries which are not the usual suspects found in other stores. Their prices are sensible. However, their customer relations, since the stay at home era began, has been nasty and dismissive. I'm referring to their pick up operation which has been handled during my two visits by a cold/unwelcoming person. Her demeanor curt, and interactions with clients rude. When she did not understand the name in the order her hands made circular motions as if to say "hurry up," avoided eye contact and was gone inside the store quickly without a "thanks" or other courtesies. These interactions left a sour taste and have encouraged us to search for other wine stores. During both visits we observed appropriate distancing rules (we wore masks and were pleasant), and didn't deserve her disdain.

Yelp
I rarely write review on Yelp, but I think I must share this experience with the Yelp community here on my experience. If I can give zero star, I would, but one star is the minimum I am allowed to give on Yelp. Here's my experience with this company on an online purchase over the holiday period in December 2020. They apparently offered multiple special discount on 4 or 5 selected wines for the Christmas Holidays, and one of them was the La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou 2016 (which they sold in case of 12 bottles), the discount was really great but I genuinely thought the deal was real as it was shown the the website for a few days, and this company claimed they are one of the largest Bordeaux wine seller in the entire world, and having not known the company previously at all, I decided to try my first online purchase with this company (all my wines typically purchased from in store major retailers). So I decided to order 6 cases of the La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou 2016, which they accepted order and charged my credit card. However after a few days, one employee just sent an email, and told me he cancelled my order completely, just saying the price was wrong, and they cannot honor the order any longer, without even a single phone call ! I was upset and disappointed with the lack of professionalism by this company, so I replied back requesting for a phone call, which he eventually did, but did not offer any other solution to this, other than saying there was nothing they could do, and it's not their fault, and it's the fault of the employee or contractor who run the website for the wrong pricing, without really owning the responsibility for such a mess-up on their own website. I don't believe based on this experience, this company is professional at all, and would be cautious in making any future purchases with them. Thank you.

Yelp
I wanted to surprise my husband with our favorite wine we had during our May trip to Paris. It was hard to find in the states, but I was thrilled to find this NY shop that imports wine and ships them nationwide. The website says to expect 3-6 months for delivery. I placed my order in June, and was informed delivery was expected in September. I'm not a pushy customer, so I gave them some extra time and contacted them in October when I still hadn't received them. The email response was something to the effect of, "Oh, we were just about to contact you! It JUST came in". How convenient. Several weeks later, still no tracking information. So I contact them again. Oh, it will be a few more weeks, because we don't ship over Thanksgiving. Finally receive the wine, and it is horrible. It's not completely skunked, but it is not right. We tried multiple bottles thinking we just got a bad one, and they were all undrinkable. I contacted the company, and got a run around. I offered to take them to a sommelier in Denver where I live for their assessment and they refused. They wouldn't allow me to return the bottles immediately, because they were concerned about the low temperatures -- bear in mind they shipped them to me...in Colorado...in December!!! They did pay for return shipping, which was admirable. FedEx missed the pickup and we went out of town, so the wine ended up sitting on our full sun front porch for 5 days by the time we could get it rescheduled. Even so, the wine store claimed the wine was perfect and was "regrettably" only able to offer a partial refund for the bottles returned. Had I know how bad their customer service would, I would have sent the eleven bottle back after the first bad bottle, and not given them the benefit of the doubt. Poor customer service. Questionable knowledge of wine if they try to claim that bad wine is fine in order to avoid a refund. I wasn't going to bother with a review, but after almost a year of hitting unsubscribe to their emails and even marking them as spam, they're STILL emailing me!! Avoid them unless you're shopping in store, and even then, I'd be cautious.

Yelp
I'll be the first to admit, I'm not the biggest wine drinker, so when I came to Millesima based on a friend's recommendation, I had no clue what I was getting into. I was looking for a few bottles that my girlfriend and I could share as I look to expand my view and taste when it comes to wine. The staff began by asking what we typically like to drink, and me gave several suggestions based on a few different price points. The store is pretty big, and the selection varies from everyday drinking to very high end, special occasion wines. I ended up buying a Reisling from the Finger Lakes and a Greek wine that I normally would not have purchased. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and I'll be sure to visit again for some more recommendations!

Yelp
Millesima shipped an expensive bottle of wine to me the day before the record cold temperatures that were due to start on the east coast on November 12th. The shipping by fed ex was one day delayed and the wine arrived ice cold so instead of holding the wine for a while (as planned) it seemed like a good idea to immediately try the wine to find out if it was damaged. The wine was actually ok but the attitude of Millesima customer service was that I was at fault for not delaying the shipment. I think that monitoring the weather and not shipping right before record cold temperatures was the responsibility of Millesima. In my opinion, ordering wine for shipping from this company is a bad idea.

Yelp
I've been stopping in to Millesima off and on when I am in the area (I don't live nearby) and am always happy with the selection of affordable wines for everyday occasions and their knowledge of their products to recommend a higher end wine or spirit when the occasion calls for it. The team there has gotten to know my tastes well enough that I can ask them to put together a case of wine with great variety in flavors, food pairing and cost so I can discover something new when I choose to have a case delivered. Maybe they should start a wine club.....hint, hint.

Yelp
I love this wine shop. Best one in the neighborhood, hands-down. I have very little wine knowledge, and every time I go in, I tell them what I'm cooking and how much I want to spend and they always provide the best recommendations. Staff is both knowledgeable and super nice. The way they organize their store makes it easy to navigate both by price and varietal.

Yelp
This place is the absolute best! After living in NYC for 5+ years and having visited wine stores in most neighborhoods of manhattan, Millesima is definitely my favorite. They have a great selection of wine, only made better by their friendly/knowledgeable staff and AMAZING prices. The prices are comparable to the suburbs and they have great sales. Also if you go in with a general budget and rough idea, the employees are really helpful in guiding you to a good options. I've found some of favorite wines and champagnes here! Highly highly recommend.

Yelp
My experience purchasing here has always been pleasant; however, today I witnessed an incident that just didn't sit right with me. I frequent many wine stores in the area and I choose to support stores based on certain things... yes one being the quality of the product but another being the quality of customer service, professionalism, and workplace etiquette. Today I witnessed a leader berate one of the employees for what appeared to be for punctuality. What bothered me the most was her tone and her disregard for his reasoning or feelings. That was very disheartening and I'm not sure if I will return because I like to support businesses that not only value their customers but also value their staff. A person's character is based on how he/she treats a person that he/she doesn't necessarily need. She really could use a course in leadership.

Yelp
Millesima is a real gem in a city of hundreds of mediocre wine and liquor stores. They carry a huge, yet carefully curated, selection of wines (ie. none of the crappy over-priced sauv blancs that seem to fill up most places...I'm looking at you cupcake). The physical store is a beautiful space, yet the elegant feel has not translated into crazy prices - I've found them to be consistently cheaper than other places in the neighborhood and the experience of shopping here is just way more pleasant to boot. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly, and they do regular tastings. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Don't let me stop you from going to the store, I don't want to ruin their business, but I do want to call attention to an employee. My hopes for this review is it will be a gentile nudge in the right direction for the better customer service. I hate writing bad reviews, but (although this is a lovely store with plenty good selection) the employee left me feeling awful. I went in to buy 2 bottles of cheap bubbles, I found some on display but wanted them cold. I asked the employee (Caucasian male, late 20's early 30s, preppy college look, sandy blonde hair) if there was a cold wine refrigerator, he said to go to the back. I found what I needed and brought the two cold bottles to checkout. He said "Having a big celebration?" I said "No, just some cheap bubbles for brunch" and he said "It's a bit late for brunch." (9pm obviously he was upset I unstocked the ones out the fridge) so I said "I can put the cold ones back, but I want at least one cold for tonight, the other is for Saturday" (THOUGH NONE OF THIS IS HIS BUSINESS, what if I like to have breakfast for dinner?!) He really made me feel like I was causing problems, and personally I was already a tad insecure about buying cheap bubbles in a very pretty wine store. It was enough for me to write this review, and leave a bad taste in my mouth. Now every time I walk by this store on my way home, I replay the interaction in my head. There's plenty of wine shops to choose from on the UES and I'm gonna go to the ones that are happy to help and not judge me regardless of what I choose from their fridge or shelves.

Allison L.

Yelp
Although the wine selection is amazing, the staff is far less than that. They're condescending beyond belief. Rude to even the regulars. There's a short man who is constantly behind a computer that does not budge to help costumers. They somehow think that they are better than their costumers. Would love to give five stars but the employees are just flat out rude.

Yelp
Probably the best French wine store in the city. Outstanding Bordeaux selection. I am never steered wrong here. They have reasonably priced wines.

Seth R.

Yelp
What a pleasure to have competent, kind leadership at this business. A small issue was resolved quickly and personally, as you would expect from the best. I will be a customer again.

Yelp
Best wine store in the city. Best Selection: Check. Best Prices: Check. Best Service: Check. Not only did they carry the rare vintage I was looking for; they saved me a bottle until I went to get it (after having scoured the city looking for it), they wrapped it in a wine gift bag, had a card, and delivered it (even though they were swamped with delivery orders, and it arrived within the hour.) As Good as it gets. Period.

Sangeeta R.

Yelp
I have never been to the store but want to. However I have bought wine from the store online from Future Bordeaux and hard to find French and Italian wines. They are great with shipping as well. Next time I am in NYC I am stopping by.
google avatar

Maxime K.

Yelp
Great liquor stores which really concentrates on wine. They carry a very limited assortment of spirits. On the wine side, it's all good. They have a pretty broad selection: most than in most places and what makes the difference is that it is really well selected. If I don't want to spend too much on a bottle I know that going for their "cheap" options around $10/$12 will always be a good bet. Equally if I want to get a fairly expensive wine I know it will have been stored properly and the whole store is kept at a good temperature for wine keeping (unlike many places in Manhattan!). They also carry a selection of usually hard to find wines (Channing daughters winery from Long Island, Marcel Deiss from Alsace) which I really enjoy. Staff is super knowledgeable and very friendly. Definitely my go to place for great wines from around the world!
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
This has been my go-to wine shop for a few months now. Prices are middle-of-the road, but they have some very interesting sale items that keep encouraging me to try something new. Let's face it, though- if you're buying wine on the Upper East Side, price is probably not your chief concern. The staff (notably William and Roger) are veritable wine encyclopedias, and you can tell that they enjoy what they do as true wine geeks. The selection isn't overwhelmingly huge, but it's well-chosen, and I've found the advice given to me to be pretty much dead-on. So, while it may be a few bucks cheaper to go to Garnet, and Sherry-Lehmann might offer more options, I will keep coming back to Millesima for the service, the sales, and the carefully-chosen selection.

Anca B.

Yelp
I love this neighborhood place - you can browse it quietly and the staff is very knowledgeable and nice. I am not a wine connoisseur, but I can always trust their advice. The wines I tried were great - now I am stuck on rose, it's summer! One can discover a lot of treasures at Millesima!
google avatar

Rylee K.

Yelp
Great selection of wines! I am not a wine - guru who knows everything or anything like that, but they have wine for everyone's budget! I have seen it go below $10 at times. Don't be afraid to go in! Also, the staff are VERY knowledgeable. Just tell them what kind of taste you are looking for, or what kind of wine, and your budget and just get what they recommend. I guarantee it is going to be good!

Yelp
Nice wine selection. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Store itself is nice and organized. Good prices.

Yelp
We went in looking a specific cabernet...walked out with two awesome options for Friday date night thanks to the experts here. The gentlemen who work here are highly knowledgeable, well-spoken, and honest about the stock (and liquor license legislation) they carry.

Rob M.

Yelp
There are five wine stores within three blocks of my apartment, and Millesima has become my go-to store. Very knowledgeable staff. Prices are not the cheapest, but they are not primarily selling vineyards you have never heard of at what seems to be a low price. It's the real deal.
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
There is no shortage of wine and liquor stores in the UES. Millesima has a good selection and fair prices. I actually came in for liquor, a bottle of Pimm's No1. Since it's been nice summer weather for the past few weeks, most stores were out of Pimm's. Millesima had it and for a reasonable price. I like the glass floor in the back of the store that let's you see down into the wine cellar.

Christopher E.

Yelp
You may not realize it by the store presence, but Millesima is one of the top importers of Bordeaux in the world. They are a top source for futures purchases and special orders from the estate. Prices are not the absolute lowest in a .com world, but are quite competitive and the provenance cannot be beat. Furthermore, they will go out of their way to answer questions and communicate. I had an extensive conversation with the merchant on birth year wine, and they thoroughly engaged me via phone and email to answer my many questions (of which there were many); it was almost an learning experience about Bordeaux. The store also carries significant older inventory of wine that many retail stores in NY do not carry; however, remember to save your bottle if you think it ends up being a bad one given their return policy which requires inspection of older bottles (which is consistent with many other retail stores).

Chris J.

Yelp
I was getting judged for being younger the second I walked in. I was the only one in the store and still couldn't get help from anyone. So I left before purchasing anything.
