On the Grid : Mille Patisserie & Creamery

"Tucked away on Oxley street, Mille Patisserie & Creamery is a one of a kind bakery that celebrates the French art of desserts with a Japanese twist. Whether it is the smell of freshly made gelato that will make your mouth start to water, or the ambiance of the interior, one cannot be unsatisfied. The treats made here are very unique and tickle the senses. Hidden similarly to a bakery in Europe, Mille Patisserie is very much a gem that once stumbled upon, you will never forget." - Jam3

Pleasant experience. We got the matcha and tiramisu flavours. It was my first time having crêpe cakes, and I’m happy that it was here. Doesn’t only taste lovely but the cakes are pretty too. I would have loved if there was a larger seating area to enjoy these tasty treats. So we got them as takeout and had them at home. The service could have been a bit more friendly.

What a lovely stop on our walking tour of Toronto. We love to find a local bakery when we travel to different cities and this one was amazing. The owner was incrediblely kind and her vanilla crepe cake takes the cake. So decadent and made with lots of love. She was willing to chat with us and let us know some hot spots to hit while we walked. Toronto was kicking our butt, but a sweet treat turned the day around. My only regret is not getting the chocolate crepe cake for later.

The best crepe cakes I’ve ever tried, hands down! So far, I’ve tried their Sakura Cherry Blossom and Tiramisu and loved them both (maybe Sakura one a little better). Can’t wait to try other flavors as well as their gelatos. 😋😋

2022 August 4★ This isn't your regular Millie cake. This is the original!! If you haven't already tried it, this is way better than the copy cats. Light and creamy, but not overly heavy and full of flavors. Though it's expensive for what it is. Matcha Crepe Cake $10.95 per slice. Rich in matcha. Light and fluffy. No parking, but a 10 minute stop over right in front of the store.

I’ve been here so many times and became a regular here🥰 Can’t find any place that has a good and high quality crepe cake like this in Toronto! They always coming up with new flavors for the flavors of the month. My fav is Matcha and Chocolate salted caramel which are really rich and creamy😋 Plus the girl here were so nice and friendly💕 love love love!

Good minimalist dessert place. They have got a good macha flavor crepes, latte and ice cream. My personal favorite is tiramisu crepes. Do I recommend this place - definitely yes! 😁

Google
Honestly, it exceeded my expectations. I did not expect them to have pandan as a flavor, so this pleasantly caught me by surprise. The mango and pandan gelato were really refreshing and are perfect for relaxing after a heavy meal. It can be a bit hard to find, but you gotta try it if you're in the area.

I work right next to this place and never even knew it was there! I dropped in for a few cups of tea (black tea they have is pretty good! Especially if you’re an English breakfast tea fan). I saw the cake slices and ended up getting some for a Friday treat and wow! Tiramisu was to die for! It was so creamy and light and just amazing! Update- just had the burnt cheesecake and oh my! That is one of the best! Love this place!

Yelp
We went after dinner on a Saturday and they unfortunately had no more crepes and rolls left. The QR menu on the tables outside had pandan gelato which I was excited for but upon checking inside they only had basic gelato flavours (strawberry, coconut, choc, vanilla). So we got crepe cakes instead. We had a tiramisu crepe cake and a earl grey crepe cake. While the flavours were good, idk i didnt feel satisfied after the dinner. The prices were fair though. The shop itself is just a counter with two tables out front, we were lucky that a table was free when we went. Next time I hope there are more gelato flavours and crepes available!

Yelp
Small Japanese pastry shop with delicate goodies including crepe cakes, cheesecake and souffle cupcakes. The cheesecake is very interesting. It's almost liquidy on the inside with a rich creaminess. It was very interesting but not traditional. I didn't find the soufflé cupcake to be all that good so I'd stick to the cheesecake.

Yelp
Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5 This was my first time visiting here. They have a great crepe cake, but I should say that it was a bit pricey for a slice of cake. It was $12+tax. I had tiramisu flavour which was rich and creamy. I would recommend it to try but only when it's sunny outside for dine in. They don't have seating area inside.

Yelp
This is a very small patisserie selling Japanese inspired crepe cakes, gelato, milkshakes, crepes, pastries, and hot drinks. They are known for their crepe cakes with 20 razor-thin crepes with pastry cream between each layer. There are other items such as caramelized popcorn, smash hearts, hot chocolate bombs, dried flower arrangements and gift boxes. I ordered the following: 1. Mini Egg Crepe Cake (slice, $10.95). This is a limited edition cake for Easter, with its pastel colours. 2. Vanilla Crepe Cake (slice, $10.95). 3. Basque Burnt Cheesecake (mini, $4.25). 4. Souffle Cupcake ($4.50). The crepe cake slices are so smooth and full of flavour. It was fun seeing if you could pull apart one of the crepe layers. The Mini Egg with crushed mini eggs on top was pretty and lightly sweet. The Vanilla uses premium vanilla beans from Madagascar and the top layer has torched sugar. The Basque Burnt Cheesecake has delicious soft runny cream cheese inside. The Souffle Cupcake has a very airy interior; quite a surprise for me. I was lucky to meet the owner, Christinn Hua. She has such a passion for what she does. She told me they use the best quality ingredients for the pastries and gelato. With the recent huge food price inflation, sherefuses to cut back in quality ingredients so it is a big problem to solve. Christinn and her staff are so courteous and helpful. There is no indoor dining. In warm weather, there would be 2 little tables and some chairs in front. During pandemic times, there is plexiglass at the staff area. The staff wear face masks. There is no free WiFi.  The patisserie is wheelchair accessible.  There are no customer washrooms. There is very limited paid street parking. Review 2022-047 You can also find me on Instagram @chuan_chee. Thanks.

Yelp
Always love the crepe cakes at Millie, especially the black sesame flavour and original flavour. I enjoyed the soufflé cakes too, light and just the right sweetness. They have some Asian gelato flavours that aren't always found elsewhere, overall a great dessert spot!

Yelp
4 star mainly due to their very accommodating customer service with me. I was suppose to pick up cake but ended up needing to have it delivered. I was chatting with them over Instagram and they were pretty responsive and accommodating. I was going to organize an Uber pickup because I am far away out of their delivery zone but they kindly offered to accommodate and have their delivery service do it. It was a bit cheaper with their service so I really appreciated it and helped put my savings towards delivery tip. Lol. The delivery person gave the perfect contactless handoff and waited outside my home till they got a confirmation msg it was received. I tried their seasonal special cake "Lucky Money Pouch" which is priced at $33.00 and description says it feeds 2-4 people and is 4.5 inches in size. It tasted really good and was very pretty but I have to say it looks bigger in pics and realistically more for 1-2 people. If you keep your expectation to this, you should be fine. I also ordered a slice of matcha crepe cake and had this at their other Baldwin location. Still quite tasty, light, fluffy and delicious. Again just a bit pricier at 9.95 a slice but a worthwhile splurge. I would definitely consider them for occasions where you want to treat yourself, maybe do a non fancy but yummy bday cake, etc.

Yelp
What's with the hype? It's such a shame that this place has so much potential but it doesn't feel like they put much effort into maintaining the place. With their overpriced slices of cake, you'd think the least they could do is provide you with a nice environment to eat your cake... then maybe I could justify paying the price. I came here on a weekday afternoon. I noticed that the space itself is cute- marble tables, transparent chairs and some flowers for decor. But spend a little more time in there and you realize how dingy it is. First off, they put one of each sad looking piece of cake on display, as they keep their stock in the back... not sure why, but those cakes on display did not look appetizing. They also have a gelato bar, which was 10% filled and really sad looking.. they didn't even bother to fully wipe off the flavours written on the glass and the gelato that they did have out there should have been thrown out. Looked so unappealing. Their cake slices are $8.95 each which is definitely a hefty price.. after tax it was over $10. My friend and I tried the matcha and earl grey. The cakes are good, but not $10 good. I also couldn't properly enjoy the cake because the environment was lowkey grossing me out. The plate they served the cake on was visibly dirty and there was a weird smell in the place. Overall, I think there's definitely a disconnect with the premium price they're charging for their cake slices when they clearly aren't putting in the effort to maintain a premium atmosphere at all. It really tarnishes the way you perceive the business since the sad store display and lack of cleanliness is a reflection of how much they don't seem to care.

Yelp
I love the different flavoured cakes and ice cream they have here. Very asian inspired flavours (think black sesame, pandan, thai ice tea) that I haven't seen anywhere else! The place is also decorated nicely as well, with mini flowers as the centerpiece. However it is a super small location though (~2-3 tables) so it's more for small groups (I.e. pairs) or grab and go!

Yelp
Millie has extended their menu to a variety of desserts and pastries over the years, but they are most known for their Japanese crepe cakes. Haven't gone in years, but I recently ordered a slice of earl grey crepe cake. The portion is smaller than I remembered and felt a lil pricey ($9.95+ tax). However, I think it's worth it given the quality and taste. The cake is made of many perfectly thin layers of crepes with light, fluffy earl grey flavoured whipped cream in between. The earl grey really comes through, and it's not too sweet. everything just kind of melt in your mouth, making you crave for more!

Yelp
Great crepe cake!! The vanilla was soo light but flavorful. It's a bit expensive though, $12 for a slice...so just know before you go

Yelp
This location of Millie's is located around Spadina and King, on a smaller street called Oxley. This location is small but has their famous crepe cakes as well as ice cream. There are 3 tables inside that could fit around 6-7 people in total. I've been to this location plenty of times to have a slice of their delicious crepe cakes. Definitely a fave in the city! Go to order would definitely be the earl grey crepe cake. Will definitely be back for more when I'm around the area!

Yelp
Needed a quick dessert fix after dinner. Did a quick google search and found Millie Patisserie closes pretty late (11pm). Drove over and picked up 2 crepe cakes, hojicha and tiramisu flavours. They were both delicious. The layers had an incredible texture when you eat it. The cake looks to have about 30 layers of crepes! Can't imagine how labour intensive it is to make a cake. Looking forward to coming back to try other flavours and also their hot chocolate on a stick, which they didn't have at the moment.

Yelp
Unfortunately I came here with high expectations for this place but was tremendously disappointed. I arrived in the afternoon (around 5:30 pm) so I understand that it is quite late for a cafe. However, I was surprised to see that there were only 4 slices on cake on display, which is not very customer friendly to begin with. The cakes were not bad but nothing more than ordinary. I tried the matcha crepe cake and earl gray crepe cake and the earl gray was the preferable one.

Yelp
I believe this is linked with Millie creaperie in Kensington market we decided to get the matcha crepe cake with matcha ice cream, a little pricey but man oh man it is amazing an delicious, the crepe taste is soft and light and creamy and not that sweet which I like, and the ice cream complements it perfectly, I could eat another twenty of those but I'll gain too much weight lol, I could come back here it's just the commute is a mission, definitely one of the best desserts I had in Toronto
google avatar

Yelp
Although I love the quality of the pastry's, they aren't currently offering any gelato or ice cream, so the "creamery" in the title of the store is misleading. I came here with the intent of getting both items, and was sadly disappointed to learn they weren't offering anything other than the cakes. The store employee said they may bring them back for summer. With that out of the way, I'll review the matcha crepé cake that I got. There were plenty of crepé layers, which takes time to fit so many in! The filling between each wasn't overly sweet, and the matcha flavor was strong but not bitter. For another $2 you can add a regular latte or Macha latte to make it a set, something I saw a lot in Japan. Anyway, the matcha late wasn't anything impressive, it was rather weak in flavor. Next time I'll try a regular latte. The store is small, only about 4 seats, so you may want to plan on getting the pastries to go. I also learned they will be selling matcha tea sets, so keep your eye peeled for those!

Selena C.

Yelp
A bit overpriced for the desserts, although they do taste good but wouldn't likely pay almost $10 for a slice of the green tea crepe cake again. The cake itself tasted really good, a little sweet for my liking. The green tea flavour was definitely strong so if you're not a fan of that, I'd skip this one. The parfaits and crepe cone things just aren't worth imo. Paying for the cereal and pocky sticks. Their Thai iced tea ice cream is good but tbh I prefer the one at fugo.

Yelp
Today I added Millie's to my growing list of Toronto pastry shops to visit! At first glance, this pastry shop is not like most shops. I was greeted by a strong unwelcoming smell and a very large fan which apparently runs all the time. This might detour you but there is a happy ending. I ordered an Early Gray and a Vanilla Bean crepe cake. A crepe cake is layers of paper-thin crepes with an ethereal pastry cream in between each layer. Both of these cakes we're delicious! My favorite, the earl grey had a subtle hint of the tea fused with a moist flavourful cream. At $8.95, it is very expensive; however, with consideration for the time and effort it takes to make the price is reasonable. Take a chance and explore the world of crepe cakes

Yelp
As I am normally in the big T.O once a month, my cousin recommend I try the Crepe Cake at Millie Patisserie. As such, since my mom's birthday and fathers day was just around the corner, we ordered the whole Earl Grey Signature Crepe Cake. The cake was exploding with the Earl Grey Flavour and it was not overly sweet. The cake was not super light nor was it super heavy. The texture of the cake was very smooth and creamy. The cost for the full cake was $89 however it was well worth it. The shop on Oxley Street was quite small. It also served other little pastries and ice cream. As for parking, parking was limited on the street in front of the shop. However we didn't stay long, we only dropped by to pick up the cake which was fine. We definitely will be back to try the other items on the menu!

Yelp
I *LOVE* LadyM's signature MilleCrepe cakes so, when I realized that I could get them right here in Toronto at Millie, I was SOLD. That being said, I can't rate this place solely on something they don't even MAKE... so the rating will be based on the experience. The Oxley location is a blink-and-you-might-miss-it storefront, as it's right next to a fairly busy sushi restaurant. I don't know what this location is like outside of lockdown, but during lockdown, it was a non-descript door of a kitchen that looked otherwise empty and closed. Except that as you open the door, there's a table, with a bell. So you ring the bell, and the girl comes out of the back somewhere and you place your order which, during lockdown, there isn't a huge variety of items available to order. But since I came specifically for the mille crepe cake, I ordered slice of the hojicha and a slice of the tiramisu. I will be back, if only for a slice, but doesn't seem worth visiting otherwise.

Laura E.

Yelp
I got the tiramisu crepe cake and it was AMAZING. It was soft and not overly sweet and the layers melt in your mouth, but it's not soggy at all. I could have this dessert every day and not get tired of it!! It's a bit on the pricier side but so worth it in my opinion!

Yelp
Food: 4 Stars Service: 3 Stars Ambience: 3 Stars Fill Factor: Snack My first experience with crepe cake was at the location in Kensington Market several years ago and I instantly loved it. It is my second time to this location and I must say it is pretty hidden as it is located on a small street between two condo buildings. The space itself is fairly small but there is sufficient seating and seems like a very cozy and quiet place to hang out and have cake. They offer several flavours of cake (off the top of my head there was matcha, vanilla bean, and black sesame). I ordered the black sesame this time and it was delicious. I found the sweetness of the cake to be just right as there was a sweet taste but not overly sweet. You are able to taste the black sesame in the cake though I did wish the black sesame taste was a bit stronger. I am a fan of the crepe cakes at Millie's but unfortunately the price is a bit steep as it comes out to be a little over $10 (after tax) per slice. It is not something I can have all the time but definitely do not let the cost deter you from visiting this neat little shop.

Yelp
I've been curious about crepe cakes for what feels like years now. They pop up sometimes on cooking shows and they always look fantastic. So when I was told that Millie Patisserie & Creamery sells a variety of crepe cakes, I knew it was just a matter of time before I stopped by. We arrived around 1:00 on a Saturday and the place wasn't exactly busy. A quick perusal of their different cake options led us to the simple yet promising-sounding Vanilla Bean Crepe Cake. Once we got past the shock of the price ($9 for a slice!), we sat down and admired the intricacy of the concoction. As promised, it's indeed many layers of crepes smushed between a cream-based frosting. The time it must take to make one of these cakes... Well, the price began to make more sense the more we looked at it. And that price became irrelevant once I took my first bite. This is a seriously rich and exquisite dessert. The intense creaminess of the filling enhances the vanilla bean flavor, while the perfectly prepared crepes, of which there are many, effectively balances out the whole thing. Seriously, this is something that needs to be sampled to be believed.
google avatar

Elvis A.

Yelp
Having tried the crepe cake at the other location this place was a disappointment. We tried the signature crepe cake and the matcha flavored version. Both didn't fare well as something was off with the matcha flavor for starters. Strangely the signature crepe cake which I enjoyed at the other location was lacking on this trip. The place has its work cut out for it since the dessert scene nearby is competitive. I will give it a skip as at this price point there are better options.
google avatar

Eric C.

Yelp
Having already tried Millie before, it's nice to have another location closer to the downtown core. What was an interesting find was that they do collaborations (?) here with Khao San Road for some of their gelato flavours. We tried the thai ice tea gelato and the flavor tasted exactly like thai iced tea which was rich and creamy. They also had coconut and pandan. The texture of the gelato was alright, but resembled more of a ice cream than of the density and richness of true gelato. Regardless, it was a good cold treat. The crepes are more of the same multi-layered goodness, with plenty of creme. Can't say the earl gray was overwhelming in boldness but the cake wasn't overly sweet and was nice and fluffy.
google avatar

Vivien K.

Yelp
It's worth the visit for sure when you come to Toronto . It sucks that this place is so run down ... and kinda dirty . The cakes are SO good and can have SO much more potential . However as other readers have mentioned , I can't justify the 8.50 piece . I got the green Tea matcha cake and it was delicious . I still think it's worth a shot to come and get a slice to go !
google avatar

Tracy T.

Yelp
The matcha crepe cake was a light, fluffy, and creamy delight. The matcha flavor wasn't subtle at all and felt truly authentic. The cafe is tiny so it only seats roughly 12 at a time but service is friendly and accommodating. Overall, it's quite a good cake but a little pricey in my opinion. Also, perhaps because of too much cream between layers, it was difficult to cut through without having all the layers slide off of each other.
google avatar

Myah M.

Yelp
Don't waste your time! Looks amazing from the photos on yelp.... but absolutely not worth the trip! We made a point to stop here on our day in Toronto and we were underwhelmed. When we walked up to the shop we saw a sign that said they were closed and would be back in about 45 minutes. We waited and came back, when we did we found an empty messy shop. There was A bell to ring for service. There was only 2 ice cream flavors and 2 crepe cake flavors in what looked like a messy case. Sooooo disappointed as I was so excited to try this place out!
google avatar

Brian K.

Yelp
I came here after dinner on a week day to get some dessert. The place was a small store that we passed by before having to turn around to come back. We got some gelato and a slice of cake. We liked the black sesame gelato a lot! But it felt like all the gelstos were melting extremely fast due to the heat + no a/c in the store. I'm sure how the workers can survive working there during the summer days when its scorching hot.. Outside of the black sesame gelato, they were just ok. But the heat made it unpleasant and I rushed to get out.

Carina K.

Yelp
PROS: the tiramisu crepe cake was yummy + adequate seating outside. CONS: small slices + quite expensive.

Yelp
I haven't been to this location for many years, but when I was there yesterday, I enjoyed it so much that I feel I should come here more often! Their crepe cake consists of the same quality and standard as the Millie Creperie, in which that is always important. This location is also much quieter and larger, I can see myself spend hours inside without getting disturbed from the window.
google avatar

Danica C.

Yelp
Millie Creperie's second location focuses on pastries, pudding cups and gelato. Location: in the entertainment district and close to some of good restaurants. Perfect place to have desserts or drink after meals. Decor: more spacious than Kensington Market location. It has a classy look. Seating is more comfortable. I can imagine myself having a good time with my girlfriends there. Service: service is always friendly and customer focus. Food: I have tried three items on their soft opening day - Yuzu mousse cup (not sure the official name), black sesame tart, Matcha azuki cheese cake. Yuzu mousse cup is a refreshing desert. Both jelly and mousse has a strong Yuzu flavour. If you love Yuzu (Japanese citrus) it is the dessert you will want. Black sesame tart - the black sesame filling is moist and tasty. It has a hint of black sesame and is not as rich as the black sesame paste/sugar soup you will get at Chinese dessert house. Yet it is well balance with the tart crust. I think they don't make as rich as the Chinese one because of targeting the local customer. Matcha Azuki (red bean) cheese cake - it is my personal favourite. Matcha cheese cake and red bean mousse go so well. They don't overpower each other. I always think Millie makes very good red bean paste- very creamy and rich taste. I would say this take a must try items. I also sample one of the new gelato flavours - lychee and guava. The taste is very refreshing and perfect for the summer. I also spot some interesting items at this location: cream puff with gelato, champaign and strawberry Mille crepes cake, strawberry shortcake. I would love trying them in my next visit.

Yelp
Came in here after going to Kibo, having a Japanese craving. I have had the crepe cakes in the past. I wonder if this location had moved from Kensington Market. There wasn't a huge selection and the place was kind of empty. If I didn't like the cakes so much I wouldn't have stopped to have one. I enjoyed the matcha cake which was light and very matcha coated. Other options included earl grey, tiramisu and vanilla bean. Wasn't too sweet and I enjoyed. I wish they had coffee and tea to offer. It is always such an interesting place to have crepe cakes. You have to ring for service and hey have a limit amount of gelato

Yelp
We placed an order on Dec 6 to be picked up on Dec 18. Since we knew they were busy, we emailed them a day ahead to make sure our order would be ready on time. They told us "We are still checking if we have the cake mix in stock - if we don't have it, we will send a refund. Otherwise, the rest of your order will be ready for pickup tomorrow at your preferred time. Thank you! " We never got a refund ahead of time so we assumed our order would be ready. However, after a long drive to their store, they told us they don't have our order. After a lengthy conversation with the staff at the store, I asked them to contact their manager or someone who would have more knowledge on the orders, to try to figure out what is going on. They told me they were too busy with customers and I should call the manager, Tracy, myself. BTW there was only 1 customer so no, they weren't very busy. So I tried calling Tracy and again after a lengthy conversation, she implied there was nothing she could or would do and what's done is done and the only thing was to email customer service and someone would get back to me. I sent them an email on Dec 18 and they replied they would make up for it by sending some free stuff, which honestly was going to be used as Christmas gifts to replace my original order. However, its been almost 2 weeks and they have gone quiet and I have received nothing. I messaged them on FB and IG, and no reply... I get they were busy and all with the holiday rush, but honestly this is too extreme. I don't know if they are just extremely unorganized or they're doing this on purpose?

Yelp
The cake taste ok, it's creamy and the portion is small. The shop open with a small table at the outside, we almost missed it, especially at night and its dark. For the price is quite on the expensive side, because the portion is small. They only take card as a payment, I don't understand why they don't want to take cash, if its because of Covid, isn't it they still hand me the cake in the box which is also paper box, so should I sanitized the cake box too before I eat it, it doesn't make sense.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little cafe but has very little seating so this might not be the best place to chill with a group of friends. I ordered slice of the matcha crepe cake to share as a sweet mid day snack and it was nothing short of HEAVENLY. It was moist, creamy, not too sweet and very matcha-y. I would be back every day if it wasn't so darn expensive but the price is justifiable considering how much work goes into making one of these cakes. Everyone should try their crepe cakes at least once, I highly recommend! i definitely would like to come back to try out their other selection of deserts.

Yelp
Randomly found this place after checking out the new khao san road on Charlotte Street. The shop is kind of hidden in the neighborhood but I like how it's away from the hustle and bustle in the king west area. Staff was on the phone while we got in but she was attentive as soon as we decided what we want. I ended up ordering the Earl Grey Mille Crepe. It's $8 a piece which is really not bad considering the amount of time and work that was put to create such delicate piece. I liked it even though I think it should taste a bit fluffier rather than a literal block of crepe/pancake. The piece looks absolutely gorgeous and I love how rich the cake tasted but not overbearingly heavy or sweet. I would come back for other flavors and perhaps try other items on the menu. Gelato, pudding etc. Overall experience was great! My fiancé and I both enjoyed our visit a lot! Overall: 4/5 Ambiance:4/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Price:4/5

Yelp
The texture of the black sesame cake was very grainy and not smooth. The cake tasted wet, grainy and old. The green tea crepe cake was ok not as good as the other store. Prefer their other store better for crepe cake because they seem more fresh

Yelp
For the price you pay for a dessert and the distance you have to travel, I have to say it was a great experience. Parking downtown Toronto isn't easy to come by, so a driver and someone to run in and pick it up works the best. Black sesame was very light. Not too sweet that you feel you can eat the whole 6 inch but don't, it's very rich. The only reason I didn't make it a 5 stars is that the place did not look very clean and tidy a little run down. I do recommend trying. Not cheap at all but very fresh and delicious! Can't wait to try the other flavours.

Yelp
taste is 5/5 Highly recommend this little desert store. In my view, it is much better than Lady M in NYC, NY, USA. Oh, how I wish people would wake up and come for a piece of cake.

Yelp
I inhaled my dessert so quickly that I forgot to take a photo..! Went here with a friend after lunch. It's easy to miss as it's hidden in a side street (maybe it was an alley?) further from the main street. My friend told me about this place but I really didn't know what to expect. It's a tiny spot, about 3 tables of two-seaters. They have a decent collection of ice cream/gelato, probably about 7 flavours. They have a few Japanese cheesecake slices, some cheesecake tarts and slices of crepe cake - flavours range from green tea, vanilla bean and black sesame. I got a vanilla bean cheesecake tart for just under $6 + tax (not the cheapest). We got them packaged to go and ate them back at work. The tart was more of a custard than a cheesecake - and was so delicious! Interesting little spot, not what I expected. Would go back just to have that same little custard/cheesecake tart!

Yelp
Somewhat smaller operation than original Kensington location. Literally 2-3 cramped tables and 1 patron even had to stand and enjoy her dessert at a counter. During my visit, fellow Yelper, Anki and I had to ask a chick to remove her purse from a chair, so that we can use the remaining table. Pet peeve: Taking up space with a purse. Fine, if the place isn't busy, but move your crap when paying patrons want to sit down! Unless the Kensington location has changed its offerings, this relatively new Millie location had gelato, crepe cakes, tarts, teas, & other stuff that the original didn't have. No parfaits, sweet/savoury crepes here...unless I was completely out-to-lunch. This Entertainment District location was more like a tiny dessert place where you'll get tea (in a teacup) and crumpets. There was 1 female server on a Sunday afternoon and she looked a bit overwhelmed. And I like the offerings at the original location more, so hence the rating!

Yelp
I have tried making the Millie crepe cake before and it squeezed out every drop of patience I had in me. I know there are plenty of stores that sell them now but this is my first time trying one in Toronto While having dinner at Patria with my friends I told them I was going to pick up Uncle Tetsu on my way home. But then the dinner ran late and Uncle Tetsu was closed by the time we finished eating. So my friend recommended Millie Patisserie&Creamery since it is close by. This place is located in a small street and my friend and I totally missed the turn We got to the store 15mins before closing and nothing much left. Got the last piece of earl grey millie crepe cake and the black sesame pudding. After 1 hour of train ride I arrived home, the cake was a bit melty because it was out of the fridge. But the cake still tasted really good. It had a strong earl grey flavour and the crepes were thin and soft. I had the pudding the next day, it was smooth and melted in my mouth I will try out the other dessert places soon but I am pretty satisfied with both the dessert I got from here!

Yelp
I visit Toronto fairly frequent and I been dying to try this place but every time I'm in the city, it is always a far walk from the parking garages. But this time I finally got to try this place and I am more than pleased with this place. It is a small place with 3 tables but a nice cozy place to sit down, chat, and eat some cake. The people there were great :) This cake is just amazing. I had tried many places with these crepe layer cakes and I have to say this is on my top 3 place. My boyfriend got the vanilla bean one and I got the tiramisu cake cause that was what I was craving for. I fell in love with it. It was super light and good amount of coffee flavor in it. My boyfriend enjoyed mine more than his. The vanilla bean was great too! It's a must try place!

Yelp
This is a small dessert place that is hidden on Spadina. My friend had been telling me for weeks how amazing the cakes are, so I decided to give it a try. To be honest, I was a bit hesitant at first since they were quite expensive. The cakes are about $10 a slice and $80 if you decide to order a full cake. I had gotten the Tiramisu mille-feuille cake and she had gotten the Matcha mille-feuille cake. The cake literally melts in your mouth and caresses your tongue. The flavors are quite pleasant as it is not overly sweet and strong. It was an enjoyable experience and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a place to satisfy with sweet tooth!

Yelp
I tried their matcha crepe cakes for the first time and it definitely exceeded expectations! This location is closer to King and Spadina and may be a bit hard to find since it is on a small road. They only have about four tables, however, the location wasn't too busy so I was able to secure a table no problem. I order their matcha crepe cake ($7.74) and it was so good! It is a bit pricey, however, it is a labour intensive process to make the cake. The cake had a thin layer of matcha on top so the bitterness of the matcha really help balance the sweetness. They also offer tarts, gelatos and cream puffs so I'll have to come back and give these a try!

Yelp
The people here are so nice so I hate that I can't give them four stars! I got the champagne and strawberry crepe ($8.18). It didn't look fresh. It looked like it's been sitting there for a while. However, taste wise, it tasted great. Was it better than other crepe cakes I had? Not really. Next, I tried the matcha azuki cheesecake ($5.97). I was not a fan of this dessert at all. The red bean flavour really came through but not so much the matcha. It's a very odd cake because it was very dense. I wouldn't recommend getting this dessert. Lastly, my mom got the hot matcha latte and I got an iced London fog. They were each $4.87. My mom didn't like her drink because it was lukewarm. She said that if it was going to be a hot drink, it better be piping hot and I have to agree with her. I took a sip of her's and my conclusion is that both drinks lack flavour. Unless if you're just drinking the drink and nothing else, you will not taste the flavour at all.

Yelp
I went here on a weekday afternoon to grab some ice cream with my team at work. We had high hopes for Millie's because of the social media shoutouts and instagram pics circulating. When we got there, the place was a lot smaller than what the pictures made it seem like. The size of the place is no big deal as long as they had food to make up for it. Unfortunately, the they were seriously lacking in the ice cream department. They only had 8 flavours and approximately 4-5 of them were empty or almost empty. Didn't make for an appealing sight. If your name has the word "Creamery" in it, at least keep your ice cream in stock. We asked if they had anymore in the back and they said no. So we made the best of the situation and got the flavours they had to offer. I can only speak to the chocolate flavour but it literally tasted like the kind you get from the grocery store with the standard chocolate flavour with the ice crystals you typically find in packaged ice cream. I'm not sure if I'd visit this location again but I am hopeful that Millie's Creperie will be a lot better.

Yelp
I have heard great things about Millie, and have also tried the location in Kensington. The reason that I wanted to come here was because they have more selection of cake and pastries compared to the other location. This location has cakes, tarts, and a lot of gelato in different flavours. Seating is very limited, so lots of people take their items to-go. I tried the earl grey crepe cake and vanilla bean crepe cake. Each was about $8. The earl grey one actually tasted like earl grey. The layers of crepe were very thin and light, with the perfect amount of cream in between. I have tried the matcha one before as well, and I would say that the matcha one has a stronger flavour compared to the earl grey. Despite the perfection of the cakes, I would say that the price point is a little bit steep. For two cakes, it totaled $16. I was tempted to try the other items on the display as well, but at $8 a piece, there is only so much you can order at one time. However, I would return since I haven't found anywhere that has a better crepe cake. Maybe next time I will splurge and order the other types of desserts offered!

Yelp
Cute spin-off of the original Millie Creperie in Kensington right in the King West area. I've been here twice since it opened and had great experiences both times. I've tried the matcha crepe cake, the tiramisu crepe cake and the black sesame pudding. By far, my favourite is the matcha crepe cake for its the strong matcha flavours - highly recommended to all matcha lovers. Pros: - The décor is unbeatable. Millie is decked out in all white, with white tables and white cutlery. Super cute for an afternoon tea. - Compared to Millie Creperie in Kensington, this spot has a lot more comfortable seating. Cons: - For some reason, the AC was not on both times. This made it really hot especially when we had a sit down meal. - Personally I think the crepe cakes have a little too much cream for my liking. I would prefer a little more crepe and a little less cream.
