"At Millie’s you’re in for a lot of butter and a lot of kitsch. Modeled after supper clubs in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, the dining room is filled with vintage beer signs and taxidermy. Most entrees are just fine, but the Genuine Broaster Chicken is delicious - if you can catch the kitchen on a good night. Come here if you really miss Wisconsin but don’t feel like driving an hour to the border." - Josh Barnett

Been in a few times when in the area. Everyone is always full and smiling when we leave. Nice to be able to have a beer with brunch. Recently tried some baked goods, danish style, awesome. Portions are for real. Staff wants You to be happy. Would like to see a better situation with the bano but can’t fault them for the way the place was built 100 years ago. It’s about the food, and they’re killin it there.

Stopped in for breakfast at Millie’s Diner and it did not disappoint!! Quality servings of fresh food at a great price. Do not miss out on the pancakes (they are huge!!) and the fresh toast!

Google
Amazing Breakfast! Super friendly service. Huge portions, reasonable prices.

Usually very good but today was sad. Corned beef hash wasn't corned beef hash. Country fried steak was a fried pork chop. Waitress was snippy, and the first table we were seated at was missing a foot, which caused it to tip. We moved. They proceeded to seat two other couples in succession, at that table, in spite of knowing it was unstable. I hope things improve.

Google
Wow!! Great place for breakfast. French Toast was fantastic. We're from out of town and just Googled "diner" on our way thru. Easy on off from 151, and VERY worth the trip. Delicious!! Great portions and fair price.

Waited 10min for toast. She never brought my hot sauce. She was on her phone and I had get it myself. She never brought our check and on her phone again! I walked up to the bar asked to settle my bill. Cashier gave me my receipt and walked away. Another customer walked up and she cashed her out first even though I was still waiting. 10 min later she shows up and tells me cash only and didn’t see no sign on the door! Service was horrible! Never step foot in this place you’ll be ignored!

Google
This place offers a nice variety in breakfasts and are known for their hash browns that do not disappoint. They are tender with a delicate crisp-truly delicious. The omelet was good but a tad salty with the added ham and American cheese. This pancake was an epic fail. It was beyond huge - a size that nobody should consume. That being said, it was difficult to eat a normal portion of it because it was a clump of dough on a plate. The taste wasn’t bad and that’s the only saving grace. I just can’t think of one reason for its size and why they would offer that Ion the menu. The place was cute and clean. The staff was you , friendly and professional. They greeted you like you are a regular. So, dine here and enjoy just beware of what pancake you order.

Google
Fantastic breakfast at a reasonable price! Captain Crunch French Toast and Kyle’s Potatoes are a must for first time guests. Enjoy Galena Roasters coffee or a giant pancake to start your day off correctly. Cash only, no cards, but am ATM is available. Expect a wait on Sundays, this place is very popular with the locals. New management appears to have kept all of the good things people love, while maintaining excellent service. Update: A few dishes have changed now that it’s Millie’s Diner. The “Kyle’s Potatoes” are now on the menu as hash, available in various configurations. Portion sizes are not quite as large as previous. Service and food are still high quality.

Yelp
This place was definitely one of the best restaurants I've eaten at In awhile the food was amazing and the portions were incredible would recommend the captain crunch French toast and fried pork tenderloin Millie's diner is a great place to mark on you map

Yelp
Just had an amazing breakfast at Millie's Diner. One of the best pancakes I've ever had. Wait staff was friendly & the place was clean. Definitely worth a visit & I'm going back next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
What a cute spot in a cute town. When you see the pink house you know you are there. We visited on a quiet morning so it gave us time to look around. Cute decor, vintage photos, a separate bar and a back deck, created a cozy feel. Our server was so kind. She was friendly and chatted with us about this small town and made suggestions for things to do in Dubuque. She explained that the restaurant was named after the owner's daughter. Sweet. Warning: the portions are huge. It's very easy to over order. I bet everyone leaves with a doggie bag. My friend had biscuits & gravy. I had veggie hash. We were both very happy with our choices. I loved this little diner for so many reasons. I will definitely visit again the next time I'm nearby.

Yelp
The waittress acted like she hated her job and was rude. Food was good be her attitude ruined the vibe.

Jared H.

Yelp
Food was pretty good and the food came in a reasonable time but the staff was unfriendly and beware they don't take cc...

Brooklynn D.

Yelp
If you like true small-town diners, then this is the place for you. It looked really put together and gave that cozy, welcoming, diner feel. They where fairly busy, but our waitress was very friendly and checked on us frequently. They said that the big pancake fit in a 14" pizza box, so of course we had to try it. It was so good! It tasted like cake! Over all, this local diner was far beyond what I expected. Delicious, clean, and spectacular in many ways. Very impressed. I recommend.

Deb D.

Yelp
Great find! Just passing through and found this nice little local cafe. The service was very pleasant and accommodating when my husband asked to sub a small side of biscuits and gravy for his pancake. The hash browns were a bit mushy for my taste, but the pancake was awesome. Well worth the stop!

Kristen P.

Yelp
Stopped here on a Sunday morning after a weekend visiting friends in the Quad Cities. Yelpers never disappoint! Some of the best diner breakfast food we've ever had. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the homemade corn beef hash, my eggs and hasbrowns were delicious, sour dough toast thinly sliced and toasted to perfection. Good service and clean and fresh interior. We will definitely return on our next time through the area.

Frank V.

Yelp
Very fresh breakfast offerings & huge fluffy pancakes. Corned beef hash was tasty. Portions are large. Service is attentive & we appreciated being told "fresh coffee was brewing."

Randy R.

Yelp
The food is good and hand made. Portions are healthy so If you go away hungry, that's your fault! The staff is super friendly and familiar. I enjoyed a breakfast here.

Don P.

Yelp
This was the first time stopping in since changing to Millie's. Sunday morning and they were understandingly busy. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive despite running her head off keeping up with other tables. We got our food and couldn't believe the amount they put on a plate and it was all excellent tasting food. Forget the chain restuarants and go to a small town diner. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
When we travel we love to eat Local. This place did not disappoint! The food was excellent the staff was friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. I had the Cap'n Crunch French toast which was superb. It is made using bread from a local bakery and they cut it an inch+ thick. The whip cream on the side had to be real and I got a side of sausage which was tasty too. Hubs got an omelette with hashbrowns and biscuit and gravy. Their hashbrowns are fabulous! They are tender and crunchy and the omelette had to have been cooked in butter. This is a must visit place. The name has changed to Millies diner so watch for the name change. We also picked up a slice of their banana bread that is made there on site. It is excellent!

Yelp
Great little spot! Fantastic selection. Family atmosphere and awesome staff. Every time we go to Platteville we have to stop. Huge helpings...

Yelp
Wow, and not in a good way. So Katina's Kitchen is now Millie's Diner. I had high hopes based on the positive reviews and a colleague's enthusiastic endorsement, but boy did this place disappoint. They were packed when we arrived, not surprising for a holiday Monday, but we thought the 10-15 minute wait was ok (gave time for younger offspring and SO to go check out the Dickeyville Grotto). The staff didn't bother pointing out that there was a bench hidden by the partition at the door, so I stood in the foyer to wait. When a table was finally cleared for us, the server tossed 6 menus on the table and walked off - no welcome, explanation that one menu was breakfast and the other lunch, or description of what the specials were. We got our drinks pretty quickly, but that was the last of the attention of the server. After 10 minutes, we asked if we could place our order (two staff were bussing tables beside us when we hadn't even ordered yet). After 25 more minutes, we asked for a follow up on our food (we were told it was almost done, took another 5 minutes to make it to the table). Our order? One chocolate chip pancake, one blueberry pancake, and a BLT with fries. Nothing that should have taken so long to prepare, especially since the crowd was mostly leaving - only a few tables came in after us (one table was bussed and folks seated, served and gone by the time we got our food). The food was ok, at best. Neither pancake was finished - to be fair, they're huge, but surprisingly bland. The BLT was fine, with a good amount of bacon, but came cut into quarters and with no mayo. The fries were hot but, again, surprisingly bland. We had to ask for the check, despite the fact that there was almost no one else in the restaurant at that point. And it's cash or check only, no cards. I'm not sure what we did to piss off the server, but thanks to the poor service and meh food, we won't be back. Village Inn in Dubuque will get our dollars.

Yelp
We stopped in this wonderful little dinner on our way across country ! The food was fresh and just delicious. The owner came out and spoke to us - he's kind and engaged in his diner. #wewillbeback

Jennifer M.

Yelp
If you are ever in the Dickeyville, WI area you must spot here. The food was amazing. This was a "small" apple cinnamon pancake and Captain Crunch French toast!!!

Tim K.

Yelp
First time in the area. So glad we stopped in on our way through town. Will definitely go back. Great service and greater food. Give them a try.

Will M.

Yelp
I love breakfast. My favorite meal of the day. I have eaten breakfast all over and today was one of the best I ever had. Everything was fresh and very tasty. You can tell the owner takes great pride in how she sources her suppliers. No skimping here. First the pancakes. Normally pancakes need butter and syrup to make them taste great but I think these cakes would taste good on their own. Put butter and syrup on and they are amazing. The bacon was thick, flavorful and cooked perfectly. The sausage was very juicy and had a taste that was better than any I've had before. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, softer on the inside and perfectly moist as they should be. The eggs were cooked just right and the toast was buttered nicely. Such a pleasing meal and the best part is the owner seems like such a genuinely nice person that really cares about the quality, Now I'm hungry again.

Yelp
We drove an hour to have breakfast on a sunday. Hours are 8am - 1pm sat & sun. Fridays 4pm-7pm. Maybe call before you go just to be sure of the hours. We arrived at 8am and within 20 minutes the place was full. Nice spot, clean and servers are very friendly. Your water glass and coffee cup will always be full! Our choices for the morning were the Breakfast mess and Meat Kyles. Both were wonderful and homemade! The breakfast mess will easily feed two hungry people or 3 medium eaters. They only take cash...you know the green stuff in your wallet. Worth the drive!

Breanna W.

Yelp
Delicious! The pancakes were so large and filling! The American Hash was great, too! We were impressed with the quality of the food and the wait staff.

Audrey S.

Yelp
Thank you so much for the wonderful breakfast and experience! The food was great and the atmosphere was comfortable and bright. We sat at the bar and enjoyed conversation with the friendly staff. Thanks again for a memorable stop on our winter road trip. Will definitely come back!

Rod S.

Yelp
The best breakfast!!! Get the hash browns with cheese and onions, Two eggs, overeasy, bacon, white toast and black coffee. Cash only.

Michelle T.

Yelp
We were staying the weekend in Galena and wanted to try something new for breakfast. It was about a 20 minute drive but a very scenic one. And after eating breakfast I would have driven farther. It was excellent. My husband and I both had the same thing just different style eggs. I added a side of bacon and a pancake. The pancake was a "side" pancake and was bigger than the plate. It was light and fluffy. Everything was cooked how we asked. We will definitely come here again the next time we visit Galena.

Adam W.

Yelp
Saw the sign "Breakfast all day" and knew it was my kinda place. Got fast service, great food and met some of the other folks eating our "breakfast for lunch". Highly recommended. Stop off at the Dickeyville Grotto and you've got a whole local tour thing going on. More words because Yelp doesn't seem to understand the concept of brevity or directness or that simplicity is a virtue or ... cmon seriously? I can't post this until I fill out a 1000 word essay on the history of western civilization and/or the rise and fall of eggs in the modern diner?

Randy H.

Yelp
Amazing quality food, large servings, fair prices, excellent and friendly waitstaff. You won't be disappointed!

Joe C.

Yelp
Everything every time is excellent in every way. I have been there twice a month since September due to traveling through and had been there a handful of times previously while visiting and this has ALWAYS been the case. It's almost disconcerting due to the fact you cannot find a fault. There is always a restaurant fault mostly not due to anything other than personal likes and tastes. Nothing wrong here. Coffee is wonderful and kept full by attentive workers. Tables and floor-CLEAN. Food is nothing short of extremely wonderful EVERY time and portions are outrageous for the price. Everyone is extremely friendly. If you ever wondered how to create the PERFECT restaurant stop by here for a meal and bring something to take notes. I would like to thank them for allowing me to have a dining experience this wonderful!

Alli E.

Yelp
if i could give this place zero stars i would, the food here gave me food sickness, and they also serve to minors aswell, also the bathrooms in this place really described the smell of this place ; disgusting .

Cassidy S.

Yelp
My fiancé and I drove to Dickeyville for breakfast here and I don't know if words can describe how amazing it was. The wait was a little long but 100% worth it once we got our food!! We ordered a ton of food it came out hot and delicious. The price was very fair, especially with the amount of food and extras we ordered. If you are in the area I'd definitely stop by. 2 things to note. It's a seat yourself and they only take cash

Jamie D.

Yelp
I have been here several times since October. EVERY time I get something different and EVERY time it exceeds my expectations! Now, on top of having the BOMB food my server was top notch! I own a restaurant and it was all I could do not to scoop her up and take her with me! Not one single complaint except I wish they were closer to my home. About a 30 minute drive and worth every minute! Keep up the great work!!!

Moonyean L.

Yelp
My omelette was PERFECTION!!! Friendly staff, packed parking gave us a clue that this was a great place to stop as we traveled through on our day trip. Will definitely make this a future stop for breakfast. This is coming from a former breakfast cook at a restaurant so I give this place high praise.

Robyn L.

Yelp
Not many choices for breakfast in this area of the state, we were staying in Potosi and drove here, it was a good decision. Service was very prompt, friendly and attentive. Very on top of coffee and water refills. Food was also very solid as breakfast goes, the menu covers all the breakfast basics you could want. Eggs were cooked exactly as ordered. Not sure the hollandaise sauce for Eggs Benedict was a true hollandaise, but that is hard to come by these days anyway! Keep up the good work here!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
We had a great breakfast and the captain crunch French toast wasawesome! All 10 of us enjoyed our meal!

Ariana B.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast spot!! Large menu, lots of options! Food was delicious, service was very friendly!

Dora H.

Yelp
We were staying in Dickeyville over the 4th and stopped for breakfast at Katina's Kitchen. The prices are reasonable. The food was excellent. This is a good hometown diner with a good food selection. The breakfast burrito was excellent and the cinnamon roll was bigger than my head! The best part was the teamwork. The staff worked well together and then service was great!

david d.

Yelp
Cozy restaurant. Great service, good coffee, huge portions, great value wish I had tome to try a bloody mary!

Jamie H.

Yelp
Katina's is a great place! Stopped here twice now on fall drives. The food is great and homemade by Katina herself. And the service was excellent. The captain crunch french toast is fantastic. It's no lame Texas toast or sandwich bread. It seems to be homemade bread. People are friendly. And Katina came out and visited every table. Would drive the 1 1/2 hours to come here just for breakfast. Good food, reasonable prices, good service and hardworking folks that care about what they do.

Christopher H.

Yelp
Stopped in Katina's twice this week while visiting Dubuque, Galena, and the surrounding area. Best breakfast spot in the region, hands down. The hash browns were pretty amazing. The service was great. Would recommend to anyone.

Anita H.

Yelp
Stopped for breakfast while traveling. Homey place with great food. Try the Morning Mess. Hashbrowns biscuits gravy n eggs. Killer good.

Yelp
Family trip from La Crosse WI to Louisville KY to visit family, departed early planning to stop for breakfast on the road. Found what appeared to be great little cafe in Dickeyville WI, all four of us had great expectations for a fun tasty breakfast. I was especially excited when I saw Cap'n Crunch French toast on the menu, having had the "original" at the Blue Moon Cafe in Baltimore MD. So, the full order of Cap'n Crunch French toast is 3 (large) pieces, also listed you could (add on) a single piece of Cap'n Crunch French toast. I was last to order, asked how many pieces is the full order and how large. I normally would not order a sweet breakfast but.....how often do you see Cap'n Crunch French toast? For me 3 large pieces of bread is way too much so I ordered a single piece. The waitress stepped back and said the single piece is a add on, you have to have a meal to add it on. So I told her to add it on to my husband's breakfast burrito, I also ordered a side of bacon. Now, I've done this countless times at many different restaurants across the country with no problem, our group of 4 had ordered 3 full breakfast orders plus my order. She looked hesitant but said she'd go back to the kitchen and ask. Minutes later out comes another woman from the kitchen headed directly to me and my sister, she pointed at me and said I need to talk to you. She then asked me if I would like the full order of Cap'n CrunchFrench toast since they were going to charge me for the full order anyway. I was surprise by her demeanor and statement, shrugged and said that's disappointing but if that's what you're going to do then you might as well make it a full order. As she's walking away I looked at my sister and said again, that's really disappointing. The woman turned around and abruptly stated this is a business model, I'm running a business and need to make money. I responded I understand that but as a business owner you should be concerned about customer service. She started to respond again and I stated I didn't want to get into it with her. She continued to attempt to engage me, I told her I'd being expressing myself on Trip Advisor and Yelp. She couldn't let it go and responded about her customers etc. I would have told her to cancel the order and we would be leaving had my sister and husband hadn't been with us. Everyone enjoyed their breakfast, good size portions and cooked they way they ordered. I was disappointed in that the Cap'n Crunch French toast wasn't nearly as good as the original from Blue Moon which had small whole pieces of cereal which added flavor and texture. This Cap'n Crunch French toast had a slight dusting of pulverized Cap'n Crunch French toast that added a slight sweetness, you couldn't identify the Cap'n Crunch at all. I did ask for a to go container when the order arrived which the waitress brought back immediately. I must add the waitress was very courteous and attentive. I ate the 1 piece of Cap'n Crunch French toast and my sister had a couple bites from another piece, the rest went in the bag....which then ended up in the trash. The abrupt discourteous interaction and inability of (I assume the owner) to disengage left a bad taste in my mouth. So, if you don't mind eating at a place where the owner is more concerned about the bottom line, unprofessionally having the last word instead of just understanding the customer was simply "disappointed," and making sure to squeeze that additional $4 out of their customer, then you'll probably be happy with you're experience at Katina's in Dickeyville WI.

Melanie M.

Yelp
Great food, genuine friendly service. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely stop here!

Rick D.

Yelp
One of the few choices in Dickeyville, but an excellent one at that. Well maintained locals joint. Service was fast, but they do not accept credit cards. I ordered a BLT Club and it was better than many I have had. The bacon was crisp and the tomatoes were not soggy. They have great crunchy french fries! Food came out quick, but was still made with quality. I'll be back the next time I'm in the area.

Kelly S.

Yelp
The Captain Crunch crusted French toast is awesome!!! Good biscuits and gravy too. Serves breakfast all day.

Connie R.

Yelp
Stopped by after visiting the Grotto. I like to think I am an expert on Reubens and Katina's Reuben beats every one I have ever had. Lots of super tender corned beef, nicely toasted rye bread and delicious saurkraut and dressing!!!!! Sister-in-law had a bacon cheeseburger and Fries and both were delicious!!! Hubby had breakfast and LOVED the hash browns!!! Will definitely make this a frequent stop when we travel north!!!!

Mary Kay R.

Yelp
Wonderful food. Katina & her staff are so friendly & make you feel welcome. Look for the "pink" building.

Cindy C.

Yelp
This is a great stop! So worth it, they serve breakfast all day and have great lunches also. My husband and son ordered their hash browns crispy and they were perfect! We had eggs Benedict, a combo breakfast and apple cinnamon pancakes. Amazing homemade food with wonderful service! Quick on and off the 151 for those driving through.

Patti S.

Yelp
Great little breakfast spot! Fresh ingredients, yummy bacon and great corned beef hash. The hashbrowns were cooked nice and crispy just as I requested (so often I'm disappointed!) and the hash was above average - some flavor that I couldn't put my finger on but delicious. Hubby always wants egg whites and his omelet was perfect and generous. Great service as well. Little hidden gem

Deb B.

Yelp
Stop in during a camping trip at Nelson Dewey State Park. We read the reviews here. It was a clean space . The food was average. It was very plain .
