It was a lovely experience. Everyone was very kind and attentive. They explained the specials of the day, recommended dishes, drinks, etc. they constantly asked us if everything was ok, it is evident they care about their customers. We ordered a pizza and dish of salmon pasta to share. The portions were generous. We took the house wine and it was also lovely. Very good experience overall, I highly recommend.

Millrock Restaurant is easily the best place to eat at in the Windham area. I have been here multiple times and each time I was greeted with a kind, hard working and resilient staff/ management team. The food and drinks are excellent, and the wait staff made it a point to make sure that my party was content throughout the duration of our dinner. If there was ever musical entertainment accompanying our dinner, it was always lovely and created an atmosphere that paired perfectly with our meal. The restaurant overall is extremely professional yet also posses a genuine and welcoming quality. This business truly deserves all kindness and support that they receive from their community. It is a wonderful place to dine at and you will certainly be taken care of with the utmost professionalism and consideration. No complaints here whatsoever. Absolutely love it here!!

This is a pretty solid Italian American restaurant and seemed the most enticing of the nearby options for us. We visited shortly after opening and were promptly seated. All the people working here were very polite and friendly and the service was great. We had the fried calamari, shrimp scampi, and a veggie pizza. While none of the dishes were mind blowing, they were all pretty tasty and left us full. I appreciate that there’s plenty of seafood and vegetarian options. The prices are a bit on the high side but seem to be the norm in the area.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner outside at Millrock Restaurant tonight, and as always it did not disappoint! The ambience was great, the wait staff attentive and friendly, and the food and drinks were delicious! An added bonus was the talented artist (Joseph James) who played the keyboard and sang...fantastic! Also, for those who may care (I know it matters to me!), the bathroom was clean and up to par. Overall, a fantastic evening. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later!!

From start to finish, our evening at this restaurant was exceptional. The service was truly over the top—attentive, friendly, and professional, without ever feeling intrusive. We had the salmon as our main dish, and it was absolutely perfect—beautifully cooked, flavorful, and plated with care. Every bite was a delight. In fact, everything we tasted was delicious, clearly made with high-quality ingredients and great attention to detail. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both such outstanding food and impeccable service. We’ll definitely be coming back—and recommending it to friends!

We were staying up the road at eastwind and decided to stop in for dinner. The hostess was incredibly sweet and chatted with us while we waited for a table. We ended up sitting at the bar and had the most delicious dinner/drinks as we enjoyed some lovely conversation with the bartender and the owners. You can tell this place is family owned and we were treated as if we were family ourselves! Will absolutely be back! 12/10 experience all around!

Google
We had the best time here! Great food, very reasonably priced, amazing service. We really enjoyed the bread, pizza, and spaghetti with white clam sauce. The team was so welcoming and friendly, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great as a result. The drinks made by Kristen were also fantastic, and we truly have no complaints. Definitely the best place to drop by in town!

We recently had our day-after wedding celebration at Millrock Restaurant and Bar Room in Windham NY. Eddie, Kelcey, and the entire team at Millrock were fantastic. They were so attentive and made us feel at home. We were a large group of friends and family celebrating a happy occasion. We had a great afternoon and everyone raved about the delicious food. We had been planning this event for several months and Eddie kept in touch and made us feel confident every step of the way. Kelcey and her entire team including servers, bartenders, and all of the behind-the-scenes, hard-working team members were amazing. Millrock Restaurant and Bar Room is a perfect venue in beautiful Windham NY.

Yelp
Maybe my pizza standards are too high, maybe I got too excited when I saw that pizza stove, because the pizza really fell short of any expectations. Very average at best. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Lots of wine and drink options to choose from. Prices on the high end given the lack of flavor. Location is perfect if your coming off the mountain. Beautiful views from the dining room.

Yelp
Take out | Dinner | $20-30 WARNING: PUBIC AND PERSONAL HAIR FOUND IN OUR FOOD. If I can give this place a -1 rating I would. I have to say that I have never in my life experienced such a horrible take-out service. I honestly felt completely disrespected with the quality of the food and the over pricing. I spent $64.00 on 2 Shrimp Scampi and about $12.00 on "Roasted Veggies". Here were my issues: 1. The Shrimp Scampi had absolutely no flavor, the spaghetti pasta was extremely undercooked and the shrimp was badly overcooked and had noooooo flavor. When I bit into the pasta it tasted like I bit into Chalk. I literally took one small bite and had to throw both orders away. My little sister of 8 years old could of cooked it better. 2. The " Roasted Veggies": I asked them if they had Roasted veggies, the woman said yes.... when I returned back to my hotel 30 mins away, the Veggies were 3 small pieces of oily broccoli and about 9 pieces of green peas. But what was most disgusting about this order was that there was PUBIC HAIR in my food. It seems like they did that deliberately. My wife and I were speechless. We couldn't call back the restaurant because we had no phone service and I was not going to drive back 30 mins to return it. They would have been closed by the time I got back to Millrock the nastiest restaurant in Windham. 3. Packaging: The packaging had hair on it as well. My wife and I just wanted to have a nice Saturday dinner and we went to Millrock because we saw the great reviews on the food. But honestly, I feel this was done deliberately. We went into the establishment respectfully and even told the lady in the front (whom I think is either the manager or owner) that we looked forward to tasting the food because of the great reviews. This truly ruined the great Saturday we were having. I felt disrespected and will never ever return to this establishment. Note to Management: Treat your customers with respect at all time, even when it comes to take out food. We did not want to eat at the business because we rented a beautiful cabin and wanted a romantic dinner by ourselves. This order was a complete nightmare and thank God we didn't eat any of it. I had a fear that the dishes were poisoned due to the PUBIC HAIR and all the other hair within the packaging. You guys stole our money and lost our respect. We went in there kind and looking forward to eating your food. I wouldn't feed your food to my worst enemy or any animal. Horrible horrible horrible service.

Yelp
An excellent restaurant with great service and good food. We were a party of six and we all enjoyed our meal very much. I had the chicken parm with pene. We also had pizza, calamari, and Caesar salad. Everything was fantastic! As a New Yorker, I was particularly impressed with the pizza. The portions were perfect. The chocolate fudge cake knocked it out of the park by the way. Thank you to our waitress Kelly and also Justina for checking in on us throughout the night!

Sunny Y.

Yelp
Great food, amazing service! Place was busy for the long weekend but we never felt rushed. We came for dinner on Saturday and loved it so much that we came back again on Sunday. Between the four of us over the two days, we probably tried half of the entrees on the menu. Everything was yum! But let me rant about the service... as we were about to leave, I asked the owner who was hosting where I can pick up some fruit for breakfast tomorrow. She suggested a place down the road, which was helpful. Two minutes later, she came to our table with a box of blackberries, strawberries and an orange! She gave us food out of her own refrigerator!!! Talk about a proprietor who cares.

Yelp
Great food, wonderful service and chill vibes Caesar salad was awesome and I loved the lemon chicken!! My son loved the pizza and lemon sorbet!

Yelp
Friendly staff, hits and misses with the food. Went with the surf and turf special last night - this was about as poor as it gets. Nothing was seasoned - almost positive they just threw shrimp and steak on a pan straight out of the packaging. Poor excuse for surf and turf and at $45 mind you. Stuffed rigatoni - phenomenal. This dish is truly delicious. Would come back here time and time again just for this! Will try again.

Yelp
Food and service always fabulous. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. We had stuffed shrimp and salad. We also enjoyed key lime pie and cheesecake with strawberry sauce

Yelp
This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Windham. The service is impeccable from start to finish, the owners always make their rounds to make sure you're enjoying your meal, and the space is so cozy and warm. We started with off drinks; I had "The Hugo" which was an Italian Spritzer with prosecco. It was very refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. We didn't order an appetizer but their bread deserves recognition in this review! They serve their bread warm with a really high quality olive oil and fresh cracked black pepper. I could eat an entire loaf of this bread in one sitting. I usually have the bolognese which is one of the best versions I've ever had but tonight I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. To me, this is the perfect vodka sauce because it's more tomato based than cream based so it's a bit on the lighter side. I added chicken to it and it was grilled to perfection! I was able to try the Mussels Bianco and the Vegetable Medley salad as well which were both incredibly tasty. The broth for the mussels was so rich while also being light and the vegetables were grilled perfectly on the salad. My experiences I've had at Millrock just gets more and more elevated every time we go!

Yelp
Delicious. I had the penny, a vodka and my Beau had lobster ravioli... Don't know how we missed this place before

Yelp
This place is a chaotic, inhospitable mess. If you're quoted an hour wait, expect that it will likely be much longer - people linger at their tables for ages to listen to the live music in the backyard, but then the host doesn't communicate simple options like the ability to sit inside immediately. And don't expect apologies for any delays or miscommunications. I was holding back tears of hunger by the time we were seated 1 1/2 hrs after arrival - I got some empathy from 1 of our 2 servers, but no offer of free appetizer, round of drinks on the house, etc.? My husband and I have both worked in food service and were appalled - our only conclusion was that the owners must be penny-pinching, and didn't allow their staff to make easy calls like that to improve diners' experiences. I recommend going to Tabla or Mill Pond Inn instead, where you can make a reservation and you are treated like a human instead of a cash cow.

Yelp
The food is always delicious here. Excellent service and cozy atmosphere. Our favorite when we are in town.

Yelp
Another great evening at Millrock. Had the stuffed rigatoni & my wife had the mussels. We sat outside & listened to Lex Grey. The combination of music, drinks & delicious food made for a perfect evening.
google avatar

Patrick N.

Yelp
The food was great, service was great (aside from the underhanded charge) and the atmosphere is great. My problem is with them telling us they have buttered noodles for kids and then charging us $28 a plate for them (at bill time)... each was more than the cost of either of our in menu plates.... Absolutely mind blowing to me.
google avatar

Yelp
This was our first time at Millrock Restaurant, I had the Lobster Ravioli and my wife had the salmon, both were off the hook and the service was excellent, but they fill up quickly so get their early. We will definitely be back for more!

Yelp
Millrock is now under new ownership. I wish we could all disregard my previous review from 8 years ago, but it's hilarious - and it serves as a beacon of just how much this place has changed for the best. This establishment is now a restaurant of fine dining, and the only one of which Windham has to offer in terms of Italian cuisine. Amazing staff with impeccable service, fantastic food, and an aura that's eager to please. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
We were trying to call the restaurant for a long time to order take out and no one was answering. We then went to the restaurant to pick up the pizzas and the hostesses were not friendly or helpful with us ordering pizzas for our friends. However, we ordered about 6 pizzas and Caesar salads which were all good. We also ordered a gluten free pizza. The restaurant is a semi upscale pizza place. Pizzas are a bit bigger than personal sized.

Nadia M.

Yelp
I ordered take out for a group of almost 50 people from Millrock Restaurant and the food was amazing. People had seconds and thirds. Everything was very tasty specially the Chicken parm, Lemon Chicken and eggplant parm (which was outstanding). Incredible Italian food! Customer service was also 10/10. Staff are super friendly and extremely helpful.

Yelp
Second time eating dinner here, food was amazing, service outstanding! Come early if you want a table. Not to be missed if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Friend and I came during a weekend trip from the city. Outdoor dining patio was spacious, and they ensured distancing between tables. As soon as we sat down, they brought a bowl of water for my pup. They also sat us in a sunnier area, so they made sure to move the shade for us so the sun wouldn't be in our faces. The food was excellent (and the portions were enormous). We shared the caprese, which was fresh and tasty. It felt like it had something missing - which I realized was balsamic vinaigrette. They brought us some upon request, and the caprese was now perfect. I had the spaghetti bolognese and my friend had the spaghetti puttanesca. The sauces for both were hearty, flavorful, and plentiful. I think I had enough for 1-2 more meals. We shared the chocolate mousse flute for dessert. Despite being extremely full at this point, I couldn't stop eating this. It was a very classic and delicious chocolate mousse, which is exactly what we wanted. The service was excellent throughout our meal. Given the quality and huge portions, the price was definitely worth it (I'm also a bit biased because I'm used to Manhattan prices, but I still appreciate). A great place for a nice and relaxed dinner. I would go back if I stay in the same area.

Yelp
Hands down the best Italian restaurant in the Windham/Hunter area. We come to mill rock once every couple of weeks, and it's the highlight of our weekend. This time (last night) the three of us (plus baby) ordered: The burrata- one of my faves The baked clams- small but delicious The white pizza with fresh arugula (from their garden) prosciutto and balsamic glaze- the guys LOVED this. Mains: Broccoli rabe, penne allá vodka and stuffed rigatoni vodka. All excelled but I think we all agreed our favorite main was the penne. Dessert: NY cheesecake and creme brûlée. DEFINITELY get the creme brûlée- you won't be disappointed. Service is family run and you can tell by how well they take care of each guest. Absolutely must go if you're in the area

Yelp
Waiter Eddie is awesome Give us plenty advice on wine food etc. I had the weenie with clam sauce excellent. One young lady set us at our table very professional and attended to her every needs with bread water etc. My fiancé had this Alfredo penny over salmon oh my God it was so good I think there was mushrooms in it and artichokes. Plenty of food we had leftovers.
google avatar

Yelp
The food here is good and the bartender super friendly. Drinks were okay. Funky smell in the dirty martini. Place gets packed so plan on a wait. We had the stuffed pasta which was very good and filling.

Chi S.

Yelp
A nice spot in Windham. Because of our party's size, we have to be in the bar room. It was therefore a bit noise. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced. The wait staff did their best to work with our party and that was appreciated. Nevertheless, it has come across that the restaurant is short staffed. I will definitely revisit but may not have a big party with me.

Yelp
We came as a party of 5 on a Saturday 7pm and it was jammed packed!! We were provided an 45 min wait which we obliged. While waiting, they kindly provided complementary pizza slices to their guests who were waiting. When we arrived, we waited some more until we were seated around 8:15 and when 9pm rolled around, the manager walked over and offer complementary salad for the table. By 9:30, our meal finally came! Glad we waited because my pasta alla vodka was delish. The sauce was so creamy and I wish I could have finished the whole thing. It seemed like my friends also thought their dishes were delicious with the exception of one who thought the pasta was bland (perhaps it was her choice in veggie pasta?) 1 star loss due to the excessive backup of the kitchen but exceptional service to keep their guests happy!!

Adriana R.

Yelp
Amazing service and food !!! I recommend white/ red mussels, pizza, rigatoni !!! The desserts were to die for!!!! The ambience was perfect ! First time here!! Recommend coming to check this place out

Yelp
Millrock is fantastic. We love Justine and John and the entire staff. The food is always fantastic and now that they have a bar all I can say is yes, please

Yelp
Still dreaming of that shrimp pasta! So good! Must try and family friendly for my boys. We will be back.

Yelp
By far the best restaurant in Windham .John and Justine are wonderful hosts. The seafood and spaghetti Melody is the best The steaks are equal to New York City Fair prices and excellent food

Yelp
What a great restaurant! Came here for a date night with my husband and was so pleasantly surprised by the trifecta of delicious food, friendly service, and a charming ambiance. We asked to sit at the outdoor patio (might as well reduce COVID exposure while the weather's still decent!) and it was so cute back there with string lights and a recent renovation. They are also in the midst of finishing a really beautiful bar area as well. We ordered the Calamari to start and shared the Bucatini with Bolognese and Stuffed Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce. The pastas were especially fantastic and the portions were HUGE! Truly, I think we will have an entire meal for leftovers. Will definitely come back soon! Excited to try more on their menu and to support a great establishment.

Yelp
My FAVORITE restaurant in town! We come to Windham a lot for work and always make sure to go here. They give you bread with olive oil to eat while you wait for your food (for free!). My favorite dish is the orecchiette with pesto, but the marinara is also soooo good! I know it sounds plain and simple, but it's the freshness that makes it taste so good. And we always get the house red wine, also tasty!

Yelp
A large group of us (arrive early and put your name down ahead of time) visited Millrock in early fall. The small restaurant can be deceiving, because the many tables about can hold a large quantity of people. Service was attentive and helpful and didn't mind explaining the specials multiple times to our group. Our food was exceptional l, and we all left happy, full, and excited about our return next year. From the appetizers to the main entrees - millrock knows how to pack a punch.

Yelp
Wonderfully wicked seafood is pretty good Very Fresh taste Sauce also nice Found today: I like mussels Friendly servants

Yelp
Millrock is by far the best restaurant in the area! I have eaten at many of the best Italian restaurants across the country and I can easily say that Millrock is my favorite! We had a large group and decided to do their catering so that we didn't take up a large portion of the restaurant. The process was really easy and they were extremely flexible. They reached out to us about a week before to confirm our order and everything was ready exactly when they told us. The fresh bread was out of this world. It was so fresh that it was still extremely soft the next day! The Caprese, Lobster Ravioli, Chicken Parmesan, Eggplant Parmesan, Penne Alla Vodka, and Fettucine Alfredo were AMAZING! I'm not exaggerating! The highest quality of food. Nothing was greasy, oily, or watery like some other places. If it's available the Lobster ravioli is a must-try! Big chunks of lobster inside with a delicious lemon sauce. Everyone in our group had a shocked reaction to how good it was. We will 100% be back over and over again!

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner at this place. Both the food and the service were outstanding. We ordered pasta broccoli rabe with sausage, Marsala, and the stake. The Marsala was cooked with amazing wine and vinegar sauce. The stake was tender and the broccoli rabe was sautéed to perfection. Our waiter Paul was very kind and passionate to welcome us to the town and introduce us to the dishes. Definitely recommend!

Yelp
Honestly I love the Millrock. It's a nice little Italian spot in the heart of Windham. I've been coming here for years and it never lets me down. Very nice atmosphere and even nicer staff. If you are in Windham and you are looking for Italian this is the place!
google avatar

JiaJia T.

Yelp
Really solid Italian restaurant. During our short stay in Windham, we took out from here twice. Tried the smoked salmon and mushroom, fettuccini Bolognese, and chicken marsala. The pastas are legit, cooked all dente, with delicious sauce. And the portions are generous!! Chicken Marsala was a bit lighter in flavor but still delicious nonetheless. Give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.
google avatar

Maggie M.

Yelp
Cool new vibe in back room. The Tap room still smells new. Bartender Mark was quite the character in a great way. But best of all, our food was out of this world. I had the shrimp. Hubby had the amazing veal chop. Everyone was so nice. Met some great folks that night.

Chris F.

Yelp
We Ski Windham every Winter.... Have never had a opportunity to visit. So mad we missed it each time. We were greeted by the Owners 11yr old Grand Daughter (Hostess) she was a breathe of Fresh Air....! Loved the vibe, our server and above all we had the most delicious dinner. Highly recommend dining here, you will not be disappointed.

William G.

Yelp
Some of the best italian food in the state of New York. Get the bruschetta.
google avatar

Jared G.

Yelp
After over a year working remotely in Windham this restaurant repeatedly meets or exceeds my expectations, every time. The menu is incredibly diverse offering a lot of options for the picky eater and the portions are generous for any dish. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff is very friendly. I was also pleasantly surprised just about every dish from pizza to pasta can be made gluten free!! This is rare! Of all the places I have dined in the area so far this was the best. Don't miss the bar addition in the back if you are looking for a slightly more intimate atmosphere, it is great for a date night.
google avatar

Yelp
This is food! Ah-MAZ-ing from walking in to leaving. The owners, Justine and John are so sweet and down to earth. They will make sure you are happy. The entire staff were focused on the service we received and that was very apparent. Portions are dinner and next day's lunch worthy but you will have a really hard time not eating it all way after your belly is full because it is that good and you just won't want your meal to end. You absolutely cannot go wrong here. So until everything opens up go right now and order take out... When it opens, make a reservation because I can very easily see them booking quickly, there's nothing to not like. Thank you for an amazing time Justine, John and staff.

Yelp
Anyone who know my reviews on Yelp knows that I do not give 5-stars unless completely deserved. Millrock completely deserves all five. My wife, son and I arrived after our drive up for a ski weekend. We had heard that it gets crowded (and they do not take reservations), so we stopped in at around 5:30pm on a Friday night, checked in, and then left to drop off our stuff where we were staying. We returned roughly 40 minutes later, and their "45-minutes" estimated wait was just about spot on. Service was good ... they know how to handle crowds. However, the nice-casual atmosphere wasn't about service ... it was all about the outstanding food. We shared three dishes among us ... a pizza, the special stuffed veal chop and a smoked salmon and mushroom pasta. Let me tell you ... we couldn't decide which we loved more. The pizza was perfectly made with a nice semolina crust. The sauce had just the right balance of sweetness and tomato-tartness. The stuffed veal was wonderfully cooked ... nice and tender, with a chunk of asiago and a portobello inside. If there was anything they could have done better, it was to get the asiago to melt without over-cooking the medium-rare veal. The home-run of the three was the pasta. Unreal flavors with the right touch of cream to balance the saltiness of the smoked salmon. The mushroom flavors complemented the fish ... well OMG. We loved them. And with a $16 half carafe of house red, everything was just perfect. Desserts were a wonderful chocolate mousse, which was not too sweet (perfect) and a flourless chocolate cake that was basically all dark-chocolate ganache. Again ... not overly sweet, so the chocolates were front and center, rather than sugar. I had a decaf coffee, which was surprisingly strong. Our check for three was $136 inclusive of a generous gratuity, making the experience just great. I wish we could go back more frequently, but the 2+ hour drive makes Millrock out of reach unless we return to Windham for some more skiing. Seriously ... a wonderful experience.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite restaurants, but every time I order eggplant parm, it's served undercooked. I stopped ordering that and have been happy with everything I've ordered since. The addition of the bar/pub in the back of the building, along with outdoor seating was a stroke of genius and very well done. It is quite popular and it seems every time we go, there's someone we know who is also having dinner there. They are also very accommodating - we've had vegan friends that often have trouble ordering at some restaurants, but they have made some very tasty vegan dishes that our friend enjoyed very much. I don't believe they take reservations, but still very much recommended.

Mark C.

Yelp
Good food, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a great wine list. What more could you ask for in a ski town restaurant.

Yelp
Recently visited the Mill Rock for our first dining experience since starting quarentine in March and it was the perfect spot. They have moved to outdoor dining which was very much appreciated. The parking lot has been transformed with tents to block the sun or in our case the rain. They easily have 20 tables outside of various sizes to accommodate various party sizes. They tables are distanced making for a comfortable experience. Now onto the food we had pizza which was great as well as pasta and a the lemon chicken which were all delicious. Everyone was really accommodating and checked in to make sure we were doing okay. They also had to go pizza kits and were doing pick up if you arent ready to outdoor dine yet. Thank you Mil Rock for everything. If you are passing through make sure to stop by and support this great local business.

Yelp
I always enjoy a trip here, and there is usually a wait for a table. We've been lucky sometimes when we go later with a smaller party and the wait has been shorter. The only time I've not really enjoyed the dish was the Asian inspired tuna (yes, I agree, Asian inspire dish in Italian restaurant in a location where there is no fresh fish not my best decision). I love the chicken marsala, we usually get a pizza or an appetizer, and then the pastas and other entrees are always solid. And they have house wine by the carafe, 1/2 carafe, etc. This place is not to be missed

Owners son was so accommodating and attentive. Cute little place with delicious food. The penne vodka was delicious as was the veal parmesan and piccata. Definitely recommend this lovely restaurant. Update for this cute super sleepy town.

Yelp
My family and I had such an amazing dinner at Millrock. What a great family run business! We loved the new bar area for a cocktail before dinner. Every pizza and entree was delicious! We will definitely be back next time we are in town!
