19 Showstopping Breakfast Burritos in Los Angeles

"The breakfast burrito at Macheen’s residency inside of Milpa Grille in Boyle Heights has developed something of a cult following, thanks to its technique-forward design with soft-scrambled eggs, extra-crispy tater tots, and surprising use of Swiss cheese." - Rebecca Roland, Eater Staff

The 17 Essential Restaurants on the Eastside of Los Angeles

"Boyle Heights’ Milpa Grille takes influences from the pre-Hispanic Mesoamerica timeline, but the result is modern, historic, and tasty all at once. 13 LA Restaurants Making a Difference Through Food

"Named after the Mesoamerican milpa system of cultivation, Milpa Grille was opened by Deysi Serrano in 2018. In addition to serving a menu chock-full of corn, beans, and squash — the trifecta of the milpa system — the restaurant welcomes up-and-comers, including Macheen and Cafe Cafe, to operate under its roof." - Cathy Chaplin

The food was phenomenal, we ordered the breakfast burrito with mushrooms. You can tell that they use quality ingredients and take a lot of care curating their menu. It was the perfect size to satiate being hungry without being overly full. The iced turmeric oat milk latte and lavender horchata were perfectly refreshing. The customer service was great too. Honestly this spot is a gem!

Awesome little cafe/restaurant in Boyle heights. Breakfast burritos hit the spot, brisket is very good. Good down home mexican cooking. Had nopales and chicken tacos this visit with black beans and esquite. The pricing is very reasonable for the portions. Need to try some coffee next visit.

Visiting the area so wanted to grab coffee in the morning. We ordered the 48 hr cold brew and crispy pork belly breakfast burrito. Im usually not a break burrito fan but this one was outstanding. After my first bit, I just kept taking more bits. It was crispy, juicy and the right balance of eggs and hash brown. Very happy that we found this place.

1st time eating here, my coworker and I had seen this place while walking by, I decided to give it a shot today, Juan the guy who was taking care of our order is very friendly and answered my questions without hesitation. I had the brisket burrito and passion fruit tea, both were delicious. The place is not huge but has a small patio which is so cool to enjoy the meal and the fresh air. I would definitely have to go again and try different dish mandate their coffee. Personally I would recommend this place to anyone who's craving a burrito or coffee.

Stopped into this quaint cafe/restaurant on the way into the office. You order at the counter and they called out to pick up the drink but brought food to the table. I had the longaniza breakfast burrito and cafe de olla. The burrito was tasty with not over-done eggs and a slightly spicy sausage. The accompanying aioli was a nice addition. The cafe de olla is simple with its delicious cinnamon flavor. I would come again and look forward to trying one of their aguas.

Very good service, great breakfast burrito, and amazing Tacos. The tortillas were amazing, the sauce was delicious and the biriani was so tasty. Also the Cafe De Olla hot is freaking amazzzzinnngggg!!! The cold one with cold foam is also great, but there is just so much flavor and deliciousness in the hot one.
