It is a good restaurant. I'd probably go back now and then if I lived in the area. The food was tasty and the service was good. The prices weren't crazy but we're a bit high for me. With even a pop, you're likely over $20 a person. I like how it feels. Plenty of parking. Has outside seating.

I loved this cute little place! They have a cozy atmosphere, a natural setting, and super friendly servers. Lucy was a big help and we loved her! We had the jerk Mac and cheese and the prime rib sandwich (Tuesday special) and they were good. Totally would recommend. P.S. Their fish mouth pitcher were definitely the highlight of my evening.

Really great place. Been driving past it for years not realizing what I was missing. The jerk chicken Mac and cheese was delicious. Service was great even with a full house and a slow service notice (short staffed) sign up.

Great service, good food, and drinks. Sit at the bar, very clean restaurant. We ordered couple Bloody Marys, French dip and cranberry turkey sandwich. Food came out fast and it was delicious. Every one works there are very friendly. Would definitely come back again.

I have been looking for a place like this since moving totheTwinCities. You know, like a diner along the lines of a Seinfeld hangout, but with better food ? Anyway, this little family restaurant is great. My husband had ribs and I had the portobello sandwich. I didn't tell them to make it vegan, but the way it was made was so good, I think it would hold its own without the cheese. It had roasted red pepper and pesto to die for. Both of us had tater tots, which are so incredibly crispy like fried chicken, that I had to ask how they were made. Our server (who did a great job introducing all the dishes to us) said that the tots are simply deep fried, which makes them naturally superior in taste to my air fryer. I hope to go back to Milton's again to see if their other vegetarian options are as delicious. My husband already said he enjoyed the ribs and would like to try the jerk chicken next time.

I love the food and the service. Prices are just right- excellent food shouldn't be cheap. Not expensive at all! Parking is plenty. Restaurant is not huge and the place is very popular, so sometimes you need to plan ahead and/or wait a bit for your table. One of my top 10 favorite places to eat and to take friends and family!

Our third time here. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese dressing. Chicken breast on it would be better if it had some grill marks on it, otherwise the salad was good, chunks of fresh blue cheese and good dressing. Also ordered a side of Mac and cheese which was very good, nice and saucy. Generous enough serving to take home for dinner later at home. Husband got the Anna's eggs which he enjoyed. Next time I'll remember pictures. I'd recommend you give Milton's a try sometime soon!

This place never disappoints. It's a true hidden gem with delicious food, attentive service, and such a warm, welcoming vibe. If you haven't been yet, you're missing out--put it on your list!

Food was incredibly. The fried pickles and Milton style wings were perfect! The burger was simple but high quality. The jerk Mac and cheese was a little too cheesy for us but flavored really well. They did have a sign asking for patience with short staffing. The service was quick for an early lunchtime, but when it started to get busier we waited for a long time for her to return. Food was delivered hot every time, and we always appreciate that!

Really good food. The ribs were really awesome - I love that they have the sauce on the side so you can really taste the flavors and smokiness. As a Texan, they really blew me away!! I also got the jerk chicken sandwich, which was awesome. Very well seasoned. The mac and cheese was great too! The servers aren't very attentive, but it's a relatively small space and it gets pretty busy, so no problem there. Will definitely be coming back when I'm in the area.

Delicious food and friendly service at Milton's tonight! They were bustling and all came out to me in perfect order. The French Onion Soup was perfect! My entree of Shrimp & Grits was also top notch. Would return for sure! Unique little neighborhood gem with a great vibe!

Service was very good. Milton's has a really nice feel to it owed in part to the friendly people who work there. Plenty of good food with generous portions. Add some wine and a couple of Surly's and I was happily patting my tummy! We were treated to the delicious homemade carrot cake as the finale!!!! Pot roast special every Wednesday!! Saw some great looking fried wings ( whole) passing by our table. . Next time!!

Absolutely worth a stop. The Jerk chicken was super flavorful. Ribs were good with or without the sauce. Overall the menu has both familiar choices and more exciting ones! My apple & cheese salad was too largely chopped and with too little olive oil and chives to tie together; this was a big let down as I usually love this combo. The ambience is positive . Kind of a trendy bohoesk feel. Service was good, there was confusion between receiving the jerk chicken sandwich vs platter, it was easily fixed- though took a long time to rectify. I think this will become a 5 star establishment but they just aren't there yet.

I love this place. Friendly staff great food. I come here for the roasted red pepper scrambler and stay for the great service. I love the feel as well, great environment.

I honestly didn't want to think too hard about choosing lunch for today, so I decided to check Yelp to see what was nearby. I stumbled across Milton's page and seeing that it was just around the block, I stopped by. After viewing their menu, the Jerk chicken Mac & Cheese caught my eye and my stomach sent stimuli to my brain which translated to me saying yes to the dish. I must say the inside is really cool and has a nice warm touch to it, which is very much appreciated when dining during the winters in MN. I was greeted very swiftly and one of the employees took my order. He gave me a very cool tip about the Mac and cheese, which was to add meat b/cuz it doesn't come with it. I chose chicken as my protein and to my dismay, the restaurant used chunks from a wholebone-in chicken instead of using just boneless chicken breast (which I very much appreciate). That small feature alone let me know that this meals was gonna be jam packed with flavor. I myself am Caribbean so my judgmental instincts were rampant and I had so many premature thoughts of what I might've been given. Safe to say it was absolutely delicious and I mean that with everything in me. I will say it doesn't give the utmost authentic Jamaican jerk flavor that I'm used to but it comes VERY VERY close and I am always open to variations in flavors and cooking styles. I assume it's homemade and for that reason I still give them a 5star. Nonetheless it blends well with the cheese, the pasta itself was cooked perfectly and portion size was phenomenal. I was so tempted to eat all of this in one sitting but I yielded to saving a bit of it for my girlfriend to have a bite as well... sharing is caring, ?right? Lol!! Overall a great experience and the food was served within a 5-10 minute timeframe after my order was taken. The parking is fair and I had no issues but please note that it's on the end of a block adjacent to a stop light so I imagine it could get busy there depending on when you decide to go.

The food was outstanding. We had the Cobb salad with French onion soup and the tomato bisque. Flavors were perfect and proportions were great! Definitely will be back here! Service was wonderful!

Milton's holds a special place in my heart--it's a local, progressive, and multigenerational family business that my senior mom and dad discovered years ago. They loved it, and I'm so glad we went back recently--this time, our first visit without Dad since he passed. The unpretentious, artsy, rustic family-room vibe makes you feel instantly at home, while the diverse staff and customers show that everyone is welcome here. The food? Incredible. My baby back ribs were so tender they practically fell off the bone, with a BBQ sauce that tasted like it came straight from a home kitchen, not a bottle. And the mac and cheese? Creamy, tender, and full of cheesy flavor with a satisfying kick. Our server, Lily, was attentive yet quietly thoughtful, adding to the warmth of the experience. Support Milton's, and it may just become a beloved spot for you and your loved ones too.

Needed a dinner out before the big freeze this weekend and headed to Milton's. Had a reservation but sitting at the bar is the best so we ordered jerk Mac and cheese and their special - Walleye! Both delicious. I like the walleye because it's not more fish than breading and their special sauce over it isn't over done as well. Definitely heading back soon.

The last time we tried eating at Milton's we were ignored in the entryway for over 10 minutes. That was years ago so we decided to try again. Service has not improved and they have a few signs posted to proactively excuse themselves. The kitchen isn't the problem. Once our order was finally taken the food was delicious. Final straw for me was having to ask for silverware and being brought a broken plastic fork because they were out of clean utensils on a Saturday afternoon. Hire more staff guys. Figure it out. The food and vibe is excellent. We love supporting local businesses. But dang, service is inexcusable.

The food is delicious. The Milton's Cobb salad, the ribeye minis, and the salmon are all very good. Macaroni and cheese was very cheese however, not a lot of flavor.

Meet up with a friend for dinner and friend suggested this restaurant. The place was packed with several large groups celebrating birthdays and an anniversary so it took quite some time for our server to come. It took several times trying to get her attention to finally get her to take our order. Once our order was placed she brought out the wrong drinks and forgot half of our orders. We orders appetizers and drinks which were okay.

I love the food and ambiance at Milton's. Our waitress was a little dull, would have been nice to see a smile or genuine interest on her face. Also was a little disappointed with everything they were out of as we were there on a Thursday at 5:15. No Sangria, No special entree that they had advertised for Thursday evening (pasta dish) and they were out of something else I had interest in but can't remember. So I ordered my stand by that has never let me down. Cedar plank Salmon and cheesy grits are out of this world! My girlfriend ordered a side dish of Kale and that was bursting with flavors!! Wish I could be giving them 5 star but they need to be better stocked and friendlier waitress.

Food is usually very good, called ahead for take out, still took 45 minutes. Told Manager it was slow, his reply. "if you don't like it, don't come back" We haven't.

Last time we went there, the waitress was talking to someone she went to college with instead of bringing us our food. Both of our hot plates sat in the window between the kitchen and the dining room while she ignored it until it was cold, then she dropped it at our table and never refilled our sodas.

I really dislike leaving a review like this for a place I once loved.Let me start by saying the waiter was very nice and hospitable, a gem. Now the food was absolutely horrendous! The rice and peas was mushy with no flavor and for some reason the rice had chives in it, as someone who eats coconut rice and peas at home, I was confused by the look, texture and lack of taste. The jerk sauce was salty, overall the jerk was missing some key ingredients! The chicken itself self tastes oven baked, not grilled like in the past! Again the taste was confusing, this was a terrible attempt at jerk. I ordered more stuff, but I'll stop here era use everything was bad! The restaurant is not what it use to be. The flavor has changed. I was so disappointed and embarrassed because I had bragged about this place, now I'm not sure anyone will take my food recommendations again.

Service is horrible, food is not bad. Don't waste your time here. The waitress/slash receptionist just didn't care, at all.

I had some questions before deciding whether to go to Milton's or not. Information on their menu and on order page was very different. However, it is not possible to talk to Milton's on a phone. There is only an answering machine with extremely difficult to understand messages, recorded with so much background noise, long and almost unintelligible phrases, eventually leading to different choices (press 1, 2 etc), all of which in turn lead to the next unintelligible messages ending with "Good bye!". Also, the sound of the prerecorded voice is distorted as well because of electrical noise, etc. I listened to answering machine 6 or 7 times trying to figure out what was there, but still could not understand anything except few random words, the words "outdated system" and "Good bye". This is the first time in my life when a business have so little respect to their customers in terms of phone service. At least make your messages intelligible, ask a different person to record them in a different way, and update your outdated phone system!

This place is fantastic--a cozy atmosphere with incredible food. The best burger I've had in Minnesota! I ordered the California Burger, and it was amazing. I'm not the best at remembering to take pictures, but I just had to share how good it was. The service was excellent. I went with my husband, and even though the place was busy and short-staffed, the team didn't miss a beat. We felt well taken care of! Special shoutout to Giovani, who assisted us.

Our son suggested that we stop here for dinner and we really enjoyed the stop. We arrived just before closing time, so were warned that they would be starting to clean up but it wasn't an issue at all. The decor was a little tongue in cheek and self-depricating - and the service was great. We ordered the Jerk Mac & Cheese with chicken (see picture) and it was delicious. A son ordered the Russian Rye (see picture) and another ordered the cheese burger - both really like the sandwiches and the fries were tasty and crispy. And we ended up with a carrot cake to go (see picture) for our Easter dinner - gluten free deliciousness! Passing off a boxed cake mix as "made from scratch" is totally dishonest. Not to mention it tastes terrible.

Used to love this place--nice ambiance and the food is great. But today we ordered something that was listed on the menu at one price but their computer system charged us extra. AND THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE LISTED MENU PRICE. Never again!

I went to Milton's alone. Despite being short-staffed, I was able to get a seat at the bar quickly. The manager was working the bar as well as directing staff. He later apologized for me waiting for a menu and drinks, but actually the wait times were fine. Gave me time to decide what to order. I had seen an item in the on-line menu that was not on the printed menu--grits and rib meat--and was able to order that. The food was great. The grits were just right, not runny or dry. It was loaded with rib meat in a tangy barbecue sauce, with peppers. I got it topped with an optional fried egg. Milton's is casual. Groups were having happy conversations. A woman walked in to a surprise birthday party for her and everyone sang Happy Birthday. But even with full tables, I could hear people talking to me clearly. They have a good beer and wine selection for a small restaurant. All in all, it was a good experience.

This place was recommended to me. I was so pleasantly surprised by every bit of my experience. The front of the house staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was great. I had the shrimp and gtits, some of the best I have had and I am from New Orleans. The strawberry spinach salad is also a stand out. Nice decore and great attention to detail. I highly recommend

I really like Milton's! I used to go quite often for Happy Hour in before times. I went back for outdoor seating this fall and loved the jerk chicken and mac-n-cheese. The shrimp and grits were okay, but I would definitely go back for more jerk chicken and french fries!! Their outdoor seating consisted of four top tables with plastic partitions between them! Extra safety precautions and privacy. I could barely hear our neighbors but it could also be the traffic from the sort of busy street. Either way it was a gorgeous day to eat outdoors. Definitely call first to make sure they are taking orders to go and help keep this hidden gem going!

Not sure what the hours are, they seem to change often since COVID, but the food is DEElicious!! I've liked everything I've gotten there. My favorite so far is the steak salad.

Can't wait to get take out again! Ordered and paid online. They have two doors and a one-way walk through to pick up. Safe! Lovely cheesy grits with shrimp. Perfect zippy spice and so full of flavor. I would get it again in a heartbeat! Jerk chicken sandwich made husband swoon. It came with house made kettle chips with the perfect amount of seasoning on them. The rum cake was a bundt chunk that was super moist. Delish! We can't wait to order again and try the mac n cheese and the ribs!

We picked up Milton's takeout for our anniversary dinner. We ordered online and within minutes of hanging up they called to apologize that they were out of the Mac and cheese we ordered. They offered and alternative of pulled chicken Mac and cheese which we accepted. You could tell they were on top of their customer service. When we arrived to pick up, there was a few minute wait so they gave us cookies!! So delicious! I'm for sure ordering those cookies next time. My favorites were the ribs, kale, and the Mac and cheese. We wanted the jerk chicken Mac but the pulled chicken was really good. We will have to try the jerk chicken version next time. My boyfriend gave me a hard time for ordering kale but he loved it too. The kale was cooked in a delicious savory sauce. I had the leftover kale cold the next day and it was just as delicious cold. I am not a mac and cheese person, so when I like mac and cheese it means it was on point. Awesome comfort food for any occasion. They were starting to open up for patio dining. There are a few tables outside lining the sidewalk that looked like a nice spot to relax with some ribs.

I enjoyed my experience here, thanks to everyone who made my experience pleasant and I look forward to coming in and experiencing everything the menu has to offer. Tonight I had the Pot roast with mashed potatoes, and carrots and it was excellent

This place used to be great. It was my family's go-to spot for birthday celebrations, dates, takeout, etc. Once Covid hit, it's like they couldn't figure out how to manage the day to day operations of a restaurant. They use Covid and "people being mean" as a crutch as to why they are going downhill. The owner was more focused on her social media than running the business. I went in last week, the food wasn't as good, the prices are higher, and our server thought we had to be in her conversation as she was yelling across my table to the table on the other side of me as if I had the desire to hear her story. I didn't, and I felt very awkward as our conversation was interrupted by this rude behavior. I wish it was the old Milton's, but it's not. You will have decent food but not the same as before, an awkward wait while there are open tables and employees choosing to walk past you instead of ask how many you're with. Just a poorly run place that needs to focus more on doing their job than acting like it's their hangout spot.

Milton's is always a hit! Best jerk Mac & Cheese in the city. Flavorful food, beautiful atmosphere, and great staff. The chicken wings and the kale are also amazing!

Highly recommend this establishment! I've eaten here 3 times and each meal was great. The vibe inside is great and the service is even better. I've had the shrimp & grits, ribs and the jerk Mac n cheese. You honestly can't go wrong with ordering either one, all were very tasty and filling. It's the type of place where I want to try everything because I know it'll be tasty w/ high quality.

My 2nd review of the year is dedicated to this awesome restaurant. Oh yea! So happy that my friend told me about this place. Delicious food, good service when I was there and great cocktails. I do however have to bring up two incidents during my visit, which was just for information and nothing to get all upset about. On your bill, there will be a nominal Wellness charge, which I understood was for maintenance of the restaurant, their parking lot etc. That charge does not go to servers/bartenders. It is for the owner because she has not increased her menu price for 7 years. Would you prefer she increased her pricing instead of calling this charge out separately? I think so because it may impact the tips that the servers get, just my opinion not factual. They also charged me $2 for Tito's vodka on top of my $7.50 martini, which I am not upset about but would have been nice to be asked before being charged. I do agree with the bartender that a higher quality vodka taste better especially if I am only having one drink and the base price of $7.50 was cheap. I would have liked to have made the decision to upgrade regardless, so I hope the owner or manager could take note of this comment! With that said, my lemon martini was strong and delicious and I love that the glass was chilled. The food was delicious! Both the shrimp and grits and their jerk chicken entrees were to die for! I ate everything and forgot to take photos. I didn't have any leftover food either, which was unusual because those who ate with me know I usually eat like a bird. The ambience was cozy and not so loud making it easy to chill, eat and chat with my friends. That night at Milton's was a special night.

I love this cozy neighborhood spot for its ambiance, excellent personal service and attention, and very delicious food. I love going there with my family for both special occasions and just for no reason. I haven't tried anything I didn't like. I highly recommend it!

This places main ingredient is salt, and next over spice everything!! Do not order the Blu cheese burger, it's three pounds of blue cheese 1/4 pound burger and bun. The food is horrible. Fly the rainbow flag and rub it in everyone's face (force feed LGBTQ to everyone) keep to yourselves! No one is hating you fir being deviants, but not everyone has to support your deviant cause! The place is disgusting all around! Horrible food!!

Great breakfast, even better service. Dave had great recommendations and was very receptive to our questions. ...and they have the coolest water jugs. Go see for yourself.

We had a horrible experience the last time but wanted to give it a second try based on the food being excellent. However, our rating stays low due to the horrible bar staff who clearly didn't want to be there and spent their time on their phone to the empty establishment that was so quiet you could hear a pin drop (turn some music on) to the brightest lights that are better suited in a hospital room.

I have been wanting to visit Milton's for some while now. I would like to go back and dine in. This review is based up a to go order. Ambiance: Not what I was expecting, which is good. I thought it would be some hole in the wall spot , but it had atmosphere. and was really cute. It has a play area for kids, which is nice. So definitely kid friendly. Service: The server was an extremely friendly and chatty guy. Those who he chatted with adored him, I could tell, but I just wanted to ask my question and order. Ughhh... I was starving. Now I thought they were still serving breakfast, but they weren't and once i viewed the menu and realized that I had already missed breakfast food, I no longer wanted to dine, but those wings I'd been reading about still were giving me life, so I HAD to be greedy and order some to go. Food: Wings were pretty good! I will come back again and dine in with friends. The have a full bar, kitchen is adjacent to the dining area, so you can view what's going on sort of.

I found this place out of pure coincidence and I did not regret my decision. I ordered a jerk Mac and cheese and my boyfriend ordered ribs. Not only were the portions perfect but the taste was amazing. The general vibe was of 60s-70s music like Motown music. There was a full bar with delicious cocktails. It's a great date night location!

Had an amazing late lunch with South Carolina cheesy grits and shrimp topped with an over medium egg. The ratio of red sauce, cheese and grits was perfection! I ordered double shrimp as you can never get enough shrimp. Had plenty of grits leftover for another meal. Our server was super friendly and made a great suggestion on adding the egg. The atmosphere was like eating at Auntie's house. Will definitely be back!

Who would have thunk that a fabulous breakfast place would be nestled in the middle of a no-name strip mall in Crystal? And with a sidewalk patio? Well, it is. Milton's is owned by the same family that owns the Park Tavern in St. Louis Park, MN. Charlene, who prefers "Char," welcomed us for breakfast on a quiet Monday morning. I presume that, for that reason, she had time to visit, and visit she did. Char and her staff certainly know how to make guests feel welcome.The place is cozy, with large sections of the room set aside with couches and easy chairs. It's as though you were in their home. The breakfasts we ordered, all standard American fare, we hearty, delicious, and very reasonably priced. All told, Milton's is on my list for favorite breakfasts, and I'm looking forward to coming back for lunch.

Great little spot! Of the beaten path. Good food. Good ambiance. Got really good service with a large group, despite some last-minute unexpected changes. Definitely going back for a date night
