9 Restaurants to Refuel After River Tubing in Texas | Eater Austin

"After spending all of that time out on the river, make a pit stop in Kyle for a plate of small town barbecue with homemade sides. The smoky, fatty brisket is a great ending to a fully Texan day — just make sure no one falls into a meat coma." - Erin Russell

The location is super clean. I really APPRECIATE THAT. I mean spotless even the vents!!! They wore gloves at the right times removed them when touching money.....so I was ecstatic to see their sanitation was 100!!! I had above and beyond service from an employee named Ray, who was just kind, patient, and extremely informative for my first visit. The loaded spud is something I would come back for!! I'm a huge potato fan. The potato salad was yummies, too. The frito pie was delicious and it came with the Pico de gallo and like they were not greedy with the sour cream so praise the lord on that!!!! mmm mmmm good. The jalapeños sausage was super amazing. I want to come back to the self-serve wine/beer drink station, I asked how it works, and they give you a big cup and a little bracelet, and you scan the bracelet to pour your own drinks!! It's like a little bar tab bracelet it's super futuristic!! The brisket was super moist and tender, maybe just a tad bit oversalted for my taste.

I have been waiting for them to move down to their Live oak location for several months. They've been open for about a week. I didn't know about it until I was passing by on the way to the bank. Conveniently located on Pat Booker Road in Live Oak. It's a great place for this spot. Nice atmosphere, plenty of indoor outdoor seating. Good food options. With reasonable prices. I had the brisket sandwich with peppercorn macaroni and cheese and a sweet tea. Everything tasted very good. By the pound by the plate by the sandwich can't go wrong with this new barbecue location of the Northeast side of San Antonio. Definitely not going to regret trying there. They also have seven or eight beer taps on the wall with different ipas. Please give it a try it's worth

Sitting here as I write this review. Lol best BBQ in San Antonio! Nuthin more to say. Price is right, portions are right, food TASTES GREAT! Place is clean. I had the chopped brisket. Was so good I didn't even need BBQ sauce😲 It's more of a self serv type of place (pour your own BEER and fountain drinks) but atmosphere is still good. Staff is nice and respectful. I'm impressed! Great job guys!

This place did not disappoint. When it comes to BBQ it can be pretty intense but these guys know what they are doing with that tender brisket and sides are not a afterthought. I recommend the pork belly Brussels sprouts and the jalapeño Mac and cheese . Wow great job to this family owned gem.

The brisket on my sandwich was very good and the sandwich was loaded. It was kind of annoying that I asked for no sauce and they sauced the top and bottom bun. The jalapeño cheese sausage wasn’t great and probably won’t get it again. I liked the Mac and Cheese. I would’ve bought Pepsi it in stock, I don’t care for the stubborn products.

Milt's BBQ LivecOak: Went twice thus far. Spare Ribs (9.5) Phenomenal Super Tender and Tasty Chicken - Half (4) dark meat was dry. We kept it for the doggie take-home. Jalapeno & Chz Sausage (5) was tasty but seemed lukewarm and may not be the best brand. They didn't taste smokey. Brisket - Marbled (8) it was tender and better than expected. Mac & Chz (6 but should be an 8) just lacked seasoning. Love the shells and consistency. Cornbread Fritters (8) with Honey Butter (10): Love these things. Dry w/out Butter, but w/Butter is where the magic happens. Pork Belly Brussel Sprouts (8) Wife loves them. Pinto Beans (7) is good, but nothing spectacular. Sweet Tea (8.5), not a brewery, fresh tasting. Mexican Coke Bottle (10) - Love it!
