I'm not a student, but i went to the senior exhibition, which was open to the public (with precautions). Signed up for a slot online and dragged the wee ones to the 3rd ward for for art.
Guards at the entrance were nice and helpful. They pointed us downstairs to the galleries. Which were empty: we didn't see anyone else our whole visit.
The art was of various media, from painting, costumes, sculpture, videos, comics, and more. Something for everyone. And you can't beat the price. Though you do have to put some money in the meter. Took us about 40 minutes.
Definitely a place to visit, with or without kids. Check on their site to see when they have exhibitions and what they are showing.
