Denver’s Best Spots to Support on Game Day | Eater

"Green Bay Packers fans know this Cherry Creek bar well, though the Colorado fandom runs high, too. Order a signature Milwaukee Mule or sip on a Crown Royal Vanilla as the Broncos take the field. This tavern offers a vast menu of food options, like nachos with carnitas, fish and chips, sandwiches, burgers, and salads to lighten things up." - Vox Creative

Great old school restaurant, dim lights nice music. Nice selection of food on the menu, the prices are nice too. Kimmy was great she's very attentive and very helpful with the menu selection. Food comes out hot and fast. Great place to stop in for a quick lunch on your break.

Milwaukee Street Tavern in Cherry Creek is our go-to refuge after a long day—unpretentious, welcoming, and always buzzing with good energy. Tucked just below street level, it’s got that cozy, slightly hidden vibe that makes it feel like a local secret, even if it’s packed with familiar faces. The beer is cold, the bartenders know their regulars, and the menu hits all the right comfort notes—burgers, wings, and the kind of bar food that tastes even better when you’re unwinding with friends. There’s even a mini bowling alley in the back, which adds a playful twist to the night. It’s not fancy, but that’s the charm—it’s where we laugh loud, decompress, and toast to making it through another week. Cheers to that.

Google
It was fine; food was mostly bland and unseasoned but heavy in the veggies. Servers were great though. +$2 for neat and +$2 for ice made me not want to come again though.

I was shocked at how much I loved Milwaukee St Tavern. First, I only went because I didn’t want to go hang out at West Elm while my better half shopped and I assumed it was a Wisconsin bar since it was named Milwaukee St Tavern (I’m bad at knowing street names) It wasn’t a Wisconsin bar, but it was a great place. Bartenders were super nice. Wish they would’ve had Fat Tire on tap or a malty beer like an Oktoberfest, but they still had bottles of beer I enjoyed. Burger was great, steak was good. And it was very well priced for being in Cherry Creek. Finally, getting to the restroom was a bit of a maze, but they were well lit, had outdated posters and good mirrors for a selfie. So, it felt like a dive bar restroom, which is the best kind of restroom to snap a mirror selfie in and let people know you’re out on the town for the night.

Google
This is a small spot with a fun vibe and a lot to choose from. They have mini bowling and great chips and shrimp ceviche. The nachos were ok, but not enough meat (considering we ordered steak for extra) in my opinion, and queso was cold. But I'd still give it another shot.

Google
Great place for a lunch break. Food and beer taste great. Staff is legendary. They have bowling with pins on wire if you are into that. Not sure if restrooms have baby changer (automatic 1 star), will check on next visit.

Google
🍺🍔 Milwaukee Street Tavern is a fun neighborhood below-street-level pub in Cherry Creek. They have traditional bar food like sandwiches, tots and wings. 🎳 They have a mini bowling lane and tons of tvs featuring sports to enjoy with friends. 👥 Very group friendly! We meet a group of about 15 once per month and they have plenty of room to accommodate. 🅿️ Centrally located there is tons of metered street parking (free after 7 pm)

Google
A fantastic bar & restaurant. The staff was attentive and more than friendly. A great mix of people work here. The food was 10/10 for bar food, with a full menu with options for everyone. This is a great spot to come afterwork and unwind, will absolutely be returning. Can not recommend this place.

Yelp
If you want a friendly atmosphere, bartenders that are great fun, easy going, and are great at making drinks, then please stop in. It's in a super nice area, and the prices are amazing.

Yelp
Great divvy place in the middle of cherry creek. Good bar food and always a great place to catch the games. Food is good. Service is great recommend coming to the bar. This place does get packed with people. Ambiance is great and homie. Always have specials for week days on beer or food and on the weekend have great discounts.

Yelp
Decent food and good drinks. The service was good too, but we both got sick to our stomachs ! Nothing volunteer but enough to cause question about the food.

Aubrie H.

Yelp
Ty is great thanks so much for great drinks and great timing and service couldn't ask for a better experience

Yelp
GREAT SPOT! Food is so good and not expensive. It's a great little spot in the middle of all this new swanky construction and they're just keeping it real!! Duck pin bowling is great as well. All the peeps who work there are friendly and really care about people!!

Yelp
Hadn't been to MST for a few years and my husband was craving a burger, so we opted to come in on a Friday night. Unfortunately, the experience was pretty terrible in comparison to our last visit. We came during happy hour and were going to order the sliders but after doing the math out, it's a WORSE deal, quite shady imo. We ordered the non-HH sliders which were good at least. I ordered a Manhattan (tasty) and my hubs and an Old fashioned (meh). For dinner, I had the cod tacos (decent, but not even close to the best in the area), the daily soup (chicken gnocchi, rich but good), and my husband got the French dip, with no dip . We eventually got our waiters attention after far too long (his food was cold by this point) and got the dip, which only marginally improved the meal. It wasn't super busy but our waiter seemed like he was always in a rush and not hugely attentive. On the whole, an experience not worth the coin. I highly doubt we will be coming back, which is a shame.

Yelp
I am glad that a place like this still exists in Cherry Creek. There used to be more dive bars, and not every spot needs to be a high end clothing store. Long live the dive bar! The nachos were mostly dried and burned and there was very little cheese and beans on them. The service was slow (but it was during the CU game). But it was cheap and the vibe was fun and the Buffs won!

Yelp
Carlos is the absolute best - i would take a bullet for him. Please give him a raise. All my love to carlos

Yelp
I've seen this place a dozen times and finally tried it out. I realized I've been missing a hidden treasure in the Cherry Creek district. They have parking available behind the building. They stop serving food at midnight and stay open later. The menu looked amazing and the prices are fair. Our server Carlos did an excellent job. We enjoyed a couple glasses of wine for a great deal. Our spinach dip appetizer was delicious. My artichoke chicken dinner was wonderful. The inside is loud and for extraverts. We enjoyed the quiet patio. Great place to watch games and / or enjoyment of bowling. We look forward to coming back for more in the future.

Yelp
Nice service and lunch meal. For four, $75 ($15-20 per plate.) No issues and enjoyed it. (Parking is not the greatest but that's on the city.)

Yelp
Located in cherry Creek, Milwaukee tavern is a spot you would typically walk by. One day we couldn't figure out a place to eat at a last minute and we ended up here. We walked in and it was pretty dark, it's dark, old decor and filled with TVs. The staff were attentive and nice. We decided to eat outside since it was nice out. The food was average at best, nothing blew us away and for the price, the portions were decent but could be better. I had their steak burrito and found it pretty small compared to other restaurants. The rice tasted old and the steak was little. My gf had a grilled cheese with sweet potato fries and she didn't say much about it either. The fries were stale and you can make a better sandwich at home. Overall we had a great time catching up with friends, but probably won't be back next time.

Yelp
We came for a quick meal and some drinks before heading to the movies. We arrived at 330 for a 5pm movie. That should be enough time right? Wrong... service was only two girls, who kept getting distracted and forgetful. Our waitress didn't write down our order- it wasn't complicated, no substitutions or anything. We watched another larger table sit and get appetizers (a good 15 minutes) before getting our food when she came back and said something happened in the back and asked for our orders again. This was quite possibly the worst Turkey BLT I have ever had in my life. The bread was soggy, Turkey ice cold, bacon cold, tomato just falling out, not a good ratio of like Turkey (way too much) to other things, not enough Mayo. The fries were basically cold too. My boyfriend said he like his jambalaya and the waitress did comp two of our drinks for the mistake. The restaurant was super cold too.

Yelp
One of the last bars left. Incredible staff. Recommend to friends and family. Soup of the day usually very good.

Roger L.

Yelp
Not bad but not great standard pub fare but they do have great servers. Had issues with things coming out together. Some of the party watched others eat for 5-10 minutes.
google avatar

Ruba A.

Yelp
Great bar food and speedy service even though it's busy, they have great music on every time I come in.

Louis H.

Yelp
Great Bugers. Friendly staff. Great location, fun mini bowling alleys, the best late night fun .
google avatar

Bailey D.

Yelp
carlos is amazing and the aboslute best and i cant wait to come back and see him again! i also haven't eaten anything because nothing else is good compared to those chicken tenders and that's all i want
google avatar

Miranda E.

Yelp
Great little spot that's always busy on the weekends. Delicious mule cocktails, I recommend the Ruby Red and my bf loved his spicy margarita. We also got the barbacoa nachos and fish and chips. It's good, but it's definitely greasy bar food!

Jackson O.

Yelp
Good service and the mini bowling is very fun. Beers were cold. Do the lane by the hour for best pricing on bowling.

Yelp
After a long flight and hours waiting for our rental car, hungry and beyond tired we came across this gem. The staff was so happy to take care of us with home cooked meals. This place felt like home and that's exactly what we needed. Came back several times during our vacation for more. Thank you for taking care of us.

Brooke H.

Yelp
Looove this spot !! ALL the food is AMAZING the people are Great and the music is pretty fantastic!!
google avatar

Yelp
Ok, so we stopped in for beers not knowing we were hungry. I though the food here is gonna be "bar food" and boy was I wrong. The food was incredible and I'm legit shocked. Like really REALLY good. Prices were realistic, service was fantastic and leaving with a new cool spot to come back to as often as I can is a win for me!

Rebekah S.

Yelp
Momma's Mac and cheese with grilled chicken and a side of buffalo sauce. Omg! It is so delicious! The staff is amazing, prices are great and the quality of the food is amazing even for bar standards! One our favorite hangouts or just to pick up.

Alexander K.

Yelp
I've been here plenty of times before, cheap drinks and an industry special if that's what you're looking for - don't come for service or food. On this occasion I ordered a steak quesadilla 25 mins before the kitchen closed, ate 1/4th of the quesadilla, something tasted extra funky, let our server know, he discounted the quesadilla -$5 even though 3/4 of the quesadilla is left and they were made aware of the rancid flavor. Enjoy for drinks and smaller tvs; avoid the food.
google avatar

Lucy G.

Yelp
We stumbled across this establishment while leaving an Avalanche game and what a treat. The staff was "fun" to say the least. We ended our evening with yummy poutine and friendly chatter. Definitely a slice of Wisconsin. Will return indeed!
google avatar

Brandon A.

Yelp
Great place to watch games. Our waiter Ty was amazing and fast. Even knew our drink orders from last time we were here. Definitely coming back regularly.
google avatar

Alicia R.

Yelp
I was drugged here and as I was being rushed to the hospital two people told me it was the third instance that week. Be aware, don't go there and if you do BE SAFE!!!

Amber N.

Yelp
Stopped by for a $7 "Italian" sandwich combo. The server who took my walk-in to go order seemed like she couldn't be bothered, and was rude throughout the transaction. The "Italian" sandwich consisted of one piece of capicola, a slice of provolone, lettuce, and tomato. The only "Italian" thing about that sandwich was the Italian dressing that came on the side. I'm not complaining about the price, but call a spade a spade. Advertise for a ham and cheese, not an "Italian". Sandwich along with the service was a letdown, which is a shame considering the place has the potential to be a cool after-work-for-drinks kind of place.

Yelp
My partner is a wounded veteran and we went in with our service dog on a hot day. We usually sit in a corner table to minimize disruption. The hostess/waitress looked at our dog, gave us a dirty look and nodded at us to find a table ourselves. We felt uncomfortable and unwelcome so we just left. Our dog is extremely well trained and behaved. We also noticed it was dead in the restaurant, so this isn't a good sign for food quality.

Yelp
Food and Service was great. Staff was attentive and quickly got my order. I used their underground parking accommodation and that is where the problem lies... I received a warning on my car dash saying I will be ticketed or towed next time and the parking is reserved for Milwaukee Tavern customers! I guess they didn't get the memo that I was a customer! Next time I'll find street parking if I'm threatened with getting towed. Not sure who is in charge of the parking garage but be aware they will post it on anyones car regardless if you are a paying customer!

Tiffany S.

Yelp
This is exactly what you expect for a late night drink and bar food. The bartender was awesome, friendly but on top of her job. The late night burger was perfect! And how can you complain about a tasty gin and tonic? The location, right across from our hotel, made it even better!
google avatar

Yajaira Q.

Yelp
This place was pretty cool. I liked the vibe of it. All the staff was super welcoming and the fact that they let us switch the channel to the TV in front of us and turn the sound on made things so much better for our experience! I had the jambalaya and was underwhelmed, but then again why am I having that in the Midwest, amirite? If you're looking to just grab a quick bite and get a beer I would totally come to this place again! I love the fact that it's in the cherry creek. O
google avatar

Rachel B.

Yelp
Mini bowling! Fun spot to have a beer with friends. Bowling is $4 per person, very reasonable. The quesadillas are bomb after a night of drinking. Maybe skip the tater tots! Service was attentive and friendly.
google avatar

Tawni M.

Yelp
Perfect slice of dive in the middle of pretentious Ave.! Stopped in for a quick bite and beverage on a Saturday afternoon, BLTA with the in-house made potato salad... divine! Great staff and clean bathrooms! Will be back and highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
A great place to watch the PACKERS on Sundays! Other than that, its a fairly typical bar. #GoPackGo
google avatar

Yelp
Cherry Creek North is the premier dining and shopping area in Denver and tends to be quite pricey. Milwaukee Tavern provides a neighborhood bar and food in a downstairs venue at reasonable prices. Every food item is basic American fare and the setting is very undistinguished. However, the food is decent and the bar selection is more than adequate. Not wanting to spend a lot of money and looking for basic food without attitude, this is a good choice.
google avatar

Madeline C.

Yelp
My husband and I loved this place! We're staying at a hotel close by, wanted a low key bar vibe and happy hour. Great service, great food and really felt comfortable with the Covid precautions they have in place. And the bartender-Jacqueline is really cool! Check it out.

Cassidy M.

Yelp
Their lunch deals are phenomenal. Great atmosphere. Great food. Great people. Highly recommend for a get together with friends
google avatar

Rick B.

Yelp
Weak bar, unless your interests are beer-only. But of course, it is a pub. As far as dive-bar pubs go; the food is actually pretty good! Stick to burgers and basics. Go to TX or Mexico for street tacos!
google avatar

Brett B.

Yelp
Super friendly staff and surprisingly great "bar food" I would definitely recommend this place for lunch and they have a lot of tv's for sports
google avatar

Mark A.

Yelp
3.5 Stars. Milwaukee Street Tavern is the super dive-y watering hole in the middle of bougie Cherry Creek North. While it is by far the cheapest place to grab a drink in the area (an oasis at times), it's a little wild that a place like this could exist mere steps from the posh Jacquard Hotel and a Vineyard Vines box store. Pros: - cheap beer and heavy pours - extremely friendly staff - towering, tasty nachos - 2 lanes of Route 66 mini-bowling! Cons: - dark, dingy, definitely needs a remodel - smokers on the "patio" directly in front of the entrance - average non-nacho bar food

Draper S.

Yelp
Blonde girl with the broken teeth and bouncer up front ruined the night. Tried to go here with our holiday party for work and were turned away because we were going over capacity at A BAR
google avatar

Rebecca M.

Yelp
We stopped in last night for dinner after the frigid cold gave me a good excuse not to bother cooking. We were looking for an easy dinner and we found it! It wasn't busy at all (I think everyone else decided to stay home and Netflix and chill.) We ordered the green chili fries to start and I had the blackened shrimp salad. Hubs had the French dip. All in all, the meals were solid. I saw they have a brunch menu, so I will definitely need to come back and check that out!
google avatar

Mark G.

Yelp
This is our local Cherry Creek Sports bar. Always great service with good BarFood with that neighborhood friendly atmosphere. Beers selection is reasonably a well drinks are good and everything is priced right.

Yelp
We stopped by twice while in town. The same bartender was working both nights. He was friendly and attentive and did a good job behind the bar. The first night,we sat at the bar and only had drinks. The place has a good, low-key vibe. It wasn't too crowded and the World Series was on. Just a comfortable, inviting environment...that's exactly the reason we went back again the second night. The second night we sat at the bar and ordered food this time. Unfortunately, the food choices we made left a lot to be desired. The French Onion soup was lacking in the cheese department, it was overloaded with onions and was just not all that good. The wings tasted old. I don't really know how to describe it other than the fact that they tasted old. Kinda rubbery. Not fresh. Almost as if they were fried before and then microwaved? I don't know. I was starving so I still ate them, but I wouldn't get them again. We had the quesadilla as well and that was pretty good actually. In a nutshell, I think there is potential with the food, but the choices we made seemed to fall flat. Still a good place for drinks and to catch a game.
google avatar

T G.

Yelp
The service is super slow, and the food is below average. Burger is very bland (lack of seasoning), wedge salad lettuce was not fresh and the waiter was too busy talking about his schedule than providing decent service. They forgot items, brought out salad with the food etc. Better off going to Bad Daddy's across the street. Even if there is a wait, it will be worth it as we decided to come here instead of waiting, and we learned the hard way.

Alex B.

Yelp
Definitely don't come here on a night out. They don't let you order from the bar, even if you have a table and are waiting on a waiter/waitress. Waiters/waitresses are overworked because of this, not a good place to have a night out.
google avatar

Jeffrey W.

Yelp
Food was better than expected and was a great atmosphere to watch a game! Very accommodating staff and definitely exceeded my expectations for a laid back sports bar.
