I was really excited to try this new spot for the first time. The latte was decent and I enjoyed that they offered some other interesting drinks like the seltzer water. The biscuit itself was wonderful and I enjoyed the balsamic mushrooms and onion. Everything came out quickly. My only gripe was the egg could have used an extra min imo which I will ask for next time. They have a couple seating areas one for bigger parties and a little bar if you just want to get a quick bite and dash off. I will definitely try this place again and explore the menu more.

The food was Amazing ! Brisket was the softest brisket I’ve had in a while . The sweet potato hash was perfect . Seasoning was well balanced , and the portions were really good for the price . We found our breakfast spot !

I am from Atlanta and let me tell ya, we got good biscuits down south. I was not expecting this biscuit to knock my socks off like it did… The flavor profile was quite complex and long-lasting on the palate. Buttery, velvety, and warm. Wow. My friend got the chocolate chip cookie and it’s perfect. Soft in the middle, crispy caramelized edges. Tastes like a hug from grandma.

In Milwaukie? Need coffee? You have to stop by MC&B. This was my first time and it did not disappoint. This place takes what they put out to their customers to heart. From the hand made vanilla syrup (a must for a morning latte) to their exceptional biscuits sandwiches. Their food is super hearty, flavorful, and made with care. Friendly staff and street parking. So yummy! Ordered the brisket polenta, and it was absolutely delicious. Creamy polenta, flavorful collards, and really tender and substantial slices of brisket. Was very filling. Also had a few bites of my friend’s monkey bread, and would highly recommend. It’s a cute, local spot that I will happily return to for lunch the next time I’m in the area.

It's a pretty solid café in Milwaukie with food comparable to decent diners in Portland. Their menu isn't super comprehensive but they do have unique offerings including polenta bowls. Unfortunately when I visited, they were out of polenta, though they offered a satisfactory substitution with the same ingredients as a breakfast sandwich. Prices are mostly fair for the quality of food you get, and the atmosphere is casual and chill, it's a spacious and well-decorated restaurant.

Parking is very tight but the food is amazing! The flavors all really work together; the only downside is the portion size on the biscuit breakfast sandwiches are a bit small. Better for a quick bite than a whole meal. The espresso was also very good, the cortado? Amazing 👏

I visited here last week because I was in the area and craving a coffee. I wasn't planning on getting breakfast, but their options looked so good that I needed to try the special they had (Asparagus Polenta bowl with egg, bacon lardons, roasted garlic+caper aioli, provolone cheese, all with crispy fried onions on top). Um... holy sh*t. One bite and I was transported. Probably one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. The polenta was perfectly creamy, the aioli (for me, a mayo hater) was so tangy, asparagus juicy and clearly very fresh, bacon lardons super crispy and good quality ... ahhh I wish I could eat that breakfast over and over again. A little pricey but I was very glad I decided to treat myself. Oh, and the drip coffee came with refills and it was very good. And the hot sauce I asked for was also delicious. Servers were very friendly, and the atmosphere was lovely with all the natural light. I can't wait to eat here again.

The cafe area has a cool vibe. Breakfast/Brunch was really good and the coffee was solid. Had a little trouble finding parking on a Sunday late-morning, but it's a walkable neighborhood-type area. Will definitely go back!

Popped in for a breakfast polenta bowl- pimento cheese, bacon, and an egg. Pretty darned good - my wife kept sneaking over her spoon to eat out of my bowl. Chill vibe, fun stained glass art. Food was ready quickly and no trouble finding a spot to sit.

Wanted to try a new spot to hang out and do some work on my computer. Unfortunately, they told me they don't have internet after I got a coffee and a muffin. Now I have to go spend more money somewhere else to have a spot to work. Partially my fault for assuming, but come on - a coffee shop without wifi? Coffee was good though! Definitely a must stop in Milwaukie!! I was craving a new breakfast spot and Milwaukie cafe and bottle shop came up on my search. Parking is available in a small parking lot or street parking. We came on a Sunday afternoon and had to park on the street a couple of blocks down due to how busy they were. You order at the front, grab a number and self seat. We waited about 45 mins for food which was expected as they warned us when we ordered that they were slammed - good for them! The two sandwiches we got were 5/5 sooo good and flavorful. The chicken jam biscuit is a must and the traditional bacon egg cheese will never let you down. They must smoke their own meats as I saw a smoker out back! The biscuit with butter and jam wasn't my fav. I would get the "jam" on the side as well as the butter as it immediately was mushy. This particular biscuit was overdone, which I know is just a variation as our other biscuits were perfectly cooked. The "jam" is also more on a compote, not a traditional jam which probably played into making the biscuit mushy. I would also pass on the "orange" soda - I think they could have given us the wrong flavoring because it tasted very floral - maybe orange blossom? Not sure. Definitely good for smaller groups, but with some finagling you could make a larger group work here. My husband and I are already talking about going back soon! Apparently they have amazing monkey bread, it was sold out when we arrived but I overheard two parties talking about it!

Used to love coming here but a bad experience probably won't bring me back. I went in on a Saturday and wanted the brisket sandwich but they didn't have the greens so they subbed the smoked chicken sandwich slaw. It was better than the original! Came back the next weekend, waited in line and was rudely told they "don't do substitutions when it's busy." Um. Unless you're forced to because you're out of something? I even told the girl how much I enjoyed the brisket sandwich with the modified slaw. I understand being busy and maybe even frazzled but she made me feel like I was doing something wrong for asking. In the words of the late great Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Also, they run out of monkey bread every weekend before brunch. Such a bummer, I live close and am an avid brunch-goer.

I ordered the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit and it was AMAZING!! The biscuit was soft, yet crisp and the sausage was homemade. It was delicious and perfect. I also had an iced vanilla latte that was awesome as well. They make their own vanilla syrup and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend this place!!

Had breakfast at this place and the ambience and environment is amazing. The coffee was great. My biscuit with balsamic onions and mushrooms was excellent as well. I suspect there's not a bad menu item at all really worth trying.

What are the decadent comfort foods that is on your must have list? My son's is Biscuits & Gravy. He wanted to keep searching for the Best Biscuits & Gravy in the Portland Metro area. We went to Pine State Biscuits, and although they were good, they weren't great. So far, I would rate them a far #2. We went to Biscuits Cafe and a few other places touting Biscuits & Gravy, but we were better off making it at home. Milwaukie Cafe & Bottle Shop is on the corner of SE Olsen St and SE 32nd Ave. There is a TriMet bus line 32-Oatfield so you don't have to have a car to get here. Got off at TriMet stop SE 32nd & Olsen ID 7351 which takes you right there. It is right on the corner, with ample parking across the street. There's a beautiful mural on the side of the building, so you can't miss it. The exterior and interior are very Portland. Clean, Portland ambiance, and very Portland staff. This place has quite a wine selection, which we passed on, since we were here for Biscuits & Gravy. The menu has a whole section with different variations of Biscuits & Gravy. My son chose the Kitchen Sink, (see photo) totally decadent and comforting. this is a MUST HAVE!!! Eggs Benedict is my fav, and the guy told us that they only had one left, so I took it. The Eggs Benedict was AMAZING too, because it is made with their signature biscuits. (see photo) The biscuits here are their own recipe, that you just have to come experience. They aren't trying to replicate the class best biscuit. To me, I think they are a cross between a biscuit and a scone.

We went at noonish on Sunday. Not crowded. I had an almond milk latte and the polenta bowl with pesto and roasted veggies. The hubby had a polenta bowl with scrambled eggs and sausage and an iced chai. Extremely good. I like their varied menu and the people were friendly and helpful. Art on the walls and stained glass items for sale. I like this place!

I'm so glad to have discovered the out of the way gem of a spot not far from Sellwood. I love polenta and have always thought a breakfast joint offering polenta bowls would be a fantastic concept, and the Milwaukie Cafe delivers. Great options and specials; healthy, veg, or totally meaty. Their meats are done especially well. The pork shoulder is super tender and juicy, the bacon lardons mostly flavorful meat, instead of just fatty pork belly. I do wish they had an option where you could build your own bowl. Portion sizes could stand to be a little larger. I haven't tried the breakfast sandos yet, but the pictures look delicious. They serve quality coffee drinks and the staff has always been super friendly and helpful. The seating area inside does leave a lot to be desired. Kind of looks and feels like they've half moved in. It just isn't a very cozy space to hang out, but thankfully the food delivers and makes up for it. Definitely worth the drive down to Milwaukie once in awhile.

First time in and was pleasantly surprised! Two of us had breakfast -one had a delicious polenta bowl and I had a combo of sides ( the counter gal worked with me to find something I could have with my dietary restrictions) I had the very best Collard Greens I had ever had! ( including my own!) with an easy over medium egg! The coffe was delicious but very strong ( the way we like it!! A latte and an Americano!!!

The best neighborhood surprise EVER! Came during the week so lots of breakfast sandwiches (full plates on the weekends). Ordered today's special, smoked pork on a biscuit with yep, peaches and a balsamic reduction and taleggio (cheese) Bitting into this hot crisp yet moist and fluffy biscuit to have tender smoky pork and the sweetness of the peaches was the best part. The cheesy goodness ran over the sides and the balsamic was perfect! Wish my tummy had room for another! Loved learning how much they make in house including the bacon. Also the Bloody Marry was wonderful loved the horseradish. I will be back!!

Our first time here. Arrived at 10:30 am. 40-minute wait & ended up receiving our food in 30 minutes. You order first & take a number & stand or sit where you can till you can steal a first come, first serve table. Wasn't much room inside to stand so we took a little table outside after we ordered & took our coffee out into the beautiful first day of October. The vanilla latte was yummy but surprisingly a much too sweet, which I didn't expect here, so I didn't ask for less vanilla. Received our food, and it was very yummy. I was initially enticed by the brisket but it was sold out already so I went with the pork shoulder polenta bowl & it was yummy, the fried egg was sadly overcooked so no yolk and I could have done without the pimento cheese and maybe had some sautéed mushrooms or spinach/vegetables instead but the pork shoulder was exceptional. It was like the highest quality of bacon with the best flavor & perfect amount of saltiness. My husband got the biscuit with egg, cheese & bacon & the for some reason he thought it came with some gravy on it, which he said would have been the perfect addition, as it needed a little sauce or something for him. I loved it as it was. The biscuit was so moist & buttery. The people who worked there were kind & I appreciated that given how busy they were. I will return with my ladies next time for brunch to try the brisket! Thank you, we had such a nice Sunday morning date.

I'd been wanting to visit this place for a while and I'm really glad I did! The staff was super friendly and the food was so delicious! I got the pork shoulder, pimento cheese and fried egg polenta bowl and damn! It was so good. You know when a dish is SO good so you eat it a little slowly so you can savor all the flavors? I did that. And I wanted to give them 5/5 stars here but in the dinning area they have those super uncomfortable bastard metal chairs that are literally a pain in the butt. This won't stop me from ordering from them again. I just may take it to go.

This spot is a short walk from where I was staying during a quick visit to the area. I called in a order for a sausage, egg, and cheddar biscuit. It was ready when I arrived. The service was friendly and quick. It doesn't appear that they are having customers sit down inside yet, everything might be takeout at the moment. The atmosphere was quirky yet comfortable, and it looks like they have a big selection of wine, beer, as well as other drinks like coffee. The biscuit sandwich was so delicious! The biscuit was perfect: not too dry, nor too crumbly, and with a rich flavor all its own that stood up to the other ingredients. The cheese was a good cheddar and the egg was done just right, with a touch of runny yolk. The sausage was meaty and rich. The combination of all this was truly sublime. I will be back to this place! So much of the menu looked yummy and creative, so I'm really curious to try more of the sandwiches and biscuit options. It's on my permanent list of places to hit when I'm up here!

We stumbled upon this gem by accident while out exploring the area. The immediate vibe upon walking in was warm, welcoming and lovely! We were charmed by the staff, especially the person who took our order. We ordered a couple of salted caramel lattes with house-made syrup, and they were delicious - strong and tasty but not overly sweet. Perfect! The breakfast/lunch menu looked unique and exciting, although we'll have to explore that on our next visit. We live 40 minutes away but will not hesitate to come back here as a destination.

We ordered for pick up - a sausage egg and cheese biscuit and BEC biscuit. Service was quick and attentive! The biscuits were to die for! Soft, savory, yet crunchy on the outside, a bit crumbly. It was melt in your mouth good. The bacon was thick and crispy. I wish I took pics but I ate it to fast to grab one. Def will be back!

I love this little place. The biscuits are perfect! They're soft inside and crispy on the outside. I haven't had much else from the menu, but it always smells great. The staff greet you when you walk in and are pretty nice. Parking can be iffy if it's a busier part of the day.

Ok I've been coming here since they opened. Awesome biscuit breakfast sandies and everything else. Biscuit breakfast Sandie is Light and flaky exterior with moist & just the right amount of dense interior, Get some! These guys do it right!! There are other perhaps more known/more famous breakfast biscuit joints (that shall remain nameless), but these guys are the best kept secret that you will be so glad you discovered. There coffee is top shelf too. I am an extreme coffee snob foremost, and their are only a few places around town that know actually what they are doing with coffee (ie. extracto, good coffee, etc.) and this is one of them. I love the quaint atmosphere, it's close proximity to me and the art on the wall. Support Local!!

Stopped by for a quick coffee. The food looked delicious once it came out. We waited about 10 minutes for our lattes however the barista didn't purge the machine causing the lattes to be grossly watered down and very foamy! It was one of the worst coffees I have tasted. If we had more time we would have gotten food which I think this is the cafes strong suit and asked for a refund on the lattes.

Had breakfast here a weekend or two ago. I had the Milwaukie Cristo with monkey bread and also sampled a bit of a breakfast sandwich and a biscuit with jam, honey and butter. The biscuit was asked for with the toppings on the side, but arrived slathered in them. It tasted good, but it was not what was asked for. The rest of the food was really rich. I'd probably come back for some lighter fare. The Cristo was a bit much for me; I wish the monkey bread was half as thick and more moist, not so dried out. Maybe that was a fluke that day. The egg and the cheese were great, perfectly cooked. I'd take half the monkey bread and a small side of potatoes. I cut the monkey bread in half horizontally and still had a nice sized breakfast. I also really loved their salted caramel americano!

Very tasty breakfast. A small menu but really good flavor combinations. I had a biscuit with smoked chicken, bacon, egg, and apple. The chicken was very moist and flavorful. My only complaint was the height of the sandwich. The only way to eat it was open faced. I would have liked it better had it been served as an open caved sandwich. My companion had biscuits and gravy and declared the biscuits as good as his grandmother's. Definitely worth coming back.

The. Best. Fresh, delicious, inventive, wonderful everything. Great coffee. Their pesto polenta bowl lights up my life and the blueberry muffins are my hands-down favorite anywhere. So glad this place is in the neighborhood!

I'm a Seattleite with a Milwaukie relative. It's wonderful to have this neighborhood café within walking distance. Pluses - friendly staff - charming understated ambiance - quality food Minuses - unbearably loud -- needs some sort of acoustic softening - on the spendy side Neutral - you bus your own table

Best biscuits and biscuit sandwiches that I've ever had and for super reasonable prices. The smash hash is essentially the perfect breakfast, and always tastes like it was made with care and attention - perfect sear on the brisket, potatoes crispy outside but soft inside. It's my wife's favorite. Everyone that works there is super kind, one server was kind enough to jump my car one day when my battery died randomly. There's also a ton of cool art and stained glass inside from local artists. I would probably eat here for breakfast every day if I could.

Not veg friendly. My vegetarian meal had bits of charred pork in it & this small restaurant is a cloud of pork smoke, even slow hours, mostly empty. I recognize this is aromatherapy for some. But some of us know pigs are smarter than dogs and don't want to have to wash the bacon grease out of our hair and clothes when we get home. Disappointing. (Clean your ventilation).

Holy northwest polenta ! This place is a little delicious gem. Homemade biscuits, hot sauce, jam and sausage - just to name a few of the amazing hand made qualities about this spot. I enjoyed yummy polenta with sautéed mushrooms, onions & ricotta , a perfectly fried egg and crispy bacon , my friend enjoyed a homemade biscuit slathered with jam, gooey cheese,egg and flavorful sausage - perfect coffee & fresh squeezed OJ - this place is cozy, delicious and they play good music !
