The 36 Best Restaurants in Mexico City, From the Splurge-Worthy to Streetside Tamale Stands | Condé Nast Traveler

"Mimbre is a French bistro-style bakery that landed in Mexico City and incorporated local food. It feels like you stumbled into a secret in a long, narrow alley with art on all of the old stone walls. Start with some espresso and a pastry–either a crisp chocolate croissant or the fluffiest concha around—before choosing between Mexican breakfast classics like molletes or American-style sandwiches. In the afternoons, there’s also pizza and artisanal beers. In the vein of classic French bistros the service is a little aloof, but gets the job done, even if at a leisurely pace." - Naomi Tomky, Scarlett Lindeman

The food was delicious. We had, nido de espinacas, which is kind o a croissant filled with spinach’s and egg and molletes con chilaquiles, they were very spicy, and it’s a big dish. We looooooved the hot mint chocolate. The place is lovely. A really good start to get to know Santa Maria la Ribera more.

All the experience worth it. The food it’s amazing. But the star is the “Danesa” with a mug of coffee. Patito, the waitress is so kind. The place totally worth it. Now my favourite place to have a pasta.

This passage in San Rafael is super cute. Service is pretty good but can be a little slow on weekends. Overall they have nice pan dulce (pastries) and portions are a good size. Not the cheapest place nor the absolute best brunch, but as a whole package it’s a really cute place worth checking out in a neighbour hood which is often overlooked.

This place is beautiful for a dining in experience. Very relaxing and the ambiance is amazing. The baked goods looked all delicious, but only tried two. They were very good. We had the chilaquiles and the huevos divorciados. The food was good but could be better if it was served hot and more flavor. Staff was friendly but slow at times, took quite a while to get our food. Also wanted to order more drinks after finishing our meal but staff was taking too long we decided to head out. Something to be aware they charge extra for every thing, even 1oz of milk if you don’t want to drink your coffee black. I don’t mind but they don’t disclose this when offering you milk for your coffee or bread to accompany your food. Overall I would come again for the ambiance and the baked goods.

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Mimbre! The pizza was perfectly cooked and had a crisp crust. The salad was so fresh with blackberries and apples. The owner was so sweet and took such great care of us. We would definitely go back!

So glad we found this restaurant! Stopped by for breakfast and were instantly mesmerized by how cool this place was. Food and service were incredible, coffee and pastries were delicious. Highly recommend the guayaba pastry, wish we could try more of them!

Cutest place to sit and eat and enjoy the space. The staff was so sweet and attentive, even gave us background on the beautiful building. The food was delicious! Love having breakfast with coffee here and love that they bring a display of bread at the beginning. The space has such calm and cute ambience and very clean.
