This place is a solid 4, 4.5. The food, service and drinks were really food. The bathrooms are clean, they have 2 which is good for a restaurant of this size. The server knew the menu and spoke only on items he had and I really appreciate the honesty. The bill for 2 was 130, that was 2 drinks, 2 meals and an appetizer, that's really good! Krack Korn is really good, the deviled eggs were on the sweet side, hot honey catfish was very good and crispy and the jambalaya, while it said a little spicy was very spicy but full of flavor. I earned $10 in rewards from my first so I'll be back soon, gotta my way thru the menu!

This restaurant had been on my list for a couple months and I finally got to try it and I was not disappointed. It was a very quaint, family type atmosphere, almost intimate but really chill. I happened to go on a Tuesday where they had some specials and I did partake of a beverage special but instead of the tacos, I opted for the hot honey catfish with a side of greens and boy was it good. There were three beautifully fried catfish fillets and a nice serving of greens to the point that I had leftovers. And the service was nice and friendly and on point from the minute I stepped in the door. There's even a patio out back, and they have a DJ that comes in the evenings. I must say I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Food was fantastic, be advised menu has changed if it’s been awhile since you’ve gone some of my favs were gone but overall menu is still great! Making new favorites. Drinks are always great but slow to get, if it’s crowded it will be really loud and it feels like you’re screaming to Your party to hear, if it’s chill and less crowded you can hear the music and the selection is perfection a good mix for everyone!

Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The atmosphere lacked a vibe, and the customer service fell well below expectations. The gentleman who took our order made me feel inconvenienced by our presence, which set a negative tone for the visit. Despite our party of five, only one menu was provided until I requested additional ones. With a small venue of seven tables, four booths, and three bar seats, I expected more attentive service. However, everything was a wait, waiting for menus, waiting for straws, and nearly fifteen minutes seated before anyone took our order. Eventually, I got up and walked to the bar to request straws myself. Although the gentleman did apologize, the overall experience suggested that the staff could benefit from stronger customer service training and attentiveness. My buddy ordered BBQ wings but somehow ended up with habanero wings, I have no idea how that mix-up happened. Our mouths were on fire from the first bite! We waited again for the correct flavor of wings. I finished both my water and my drink… no refills in sight! The waitress never came back to check on us. When she finally arrived, I kindly held up my two empty glasses. My buddy waited longer than the 9 minutes he was told and requested his wings to go! Not the mention the lemonade he ordered was never brought out! After awhile, you’re just ready to get the check and leave. Personally, the only thing I enjoyed was the music!!

10/10 would recommend. I wish nothing but an overflow of success to this business. The customer service was nothing but amazing, they were very attentive and made me feel well taken care of. I wanna go back to eat again just to tip them. Great music & The food was amazing! Asian zing wings and the white macaroni and cheese was my absolute favorite. I will be back!💕💕💕 Thank you guys for making my solo Sunday dinner date the best!!!

The food here was amazing. My daughter and I had a lunch date and decided on this location. We were not disappointed. I ordered a mocktail and she had a strawberry margarita. We also had the hit honey party wings, delicious. Our entrees were the hot honey catfish with Mac and cheese and crispy fries and the hot honey salmon bites and Mac and cheese and greens. The meal was 10/10 The service was a 10/10 the vibe was a 10/10

Although I had to wait 10 minutes for the hostess to address me, then more than that to have our order taken, this is some good food. It was hot, fresh, and seasoned well. The music was really loud, and it made hearing hard for everyone. It's a small place and hopefully in the near future they'll exigency again

Mimi’s is a staple every time we come to the city! The white peach Italian ice is my absolute favorite whenever they don’t have it, I’m genuinely sad. My mom loves the piña colada flavor, and we both agree the jerk chicken tacos are the best we’ve ever had. I also had the chance to meet the chef she’s amazing! I’m so grateful to support such a great Black-owned business. I totally recommend it! I travel 6 hours to come here.

The new menu here DID NOTCOMETOPLAY!!! Now the old menu still exists, but it has the new hotness mixed in with it! I got to try some of those new items and I'm definitely glad they made this menu expansion! If you come here on a weekend night BE PREPARED FOR A WAIT!!!!! What I tried : Mac n cheese balls - these things were huge! Not only is the breading really good, the mac & cheese on the inside is perfectly creamy and delicious. It is deep fried perfectly! Hot honey Homestyle catfish- Who knew that hot honey would go so well on top of the fried catfish? Now the catfish on its own is tasty and fried well, but with that hot honey drizzle on top? Anejo lime pasta - my girl tried this and got it with both the chicken and shrimp. She couldn't stop eating it. It has a citrus flavor from the lime, while you get the tequila flavor from the anejo. Midnight Martini & Blood orange mojito- not only are the drinks good, they are strong and get you right. I only needed one! They make sure you get your moneys worth; no watering down drinks in here! When you go, tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!

This place is a must, if you in a chicago area . So good . The turkey burger my wife loves it season to perfection . I always get the jerk tacos burial style first bite always we come twice a year to chicago, so I'll be thinking about this until we make it back.And it'd be good every every everytime . Oh my the owner's suggested we try the pasta shrimp and chicken when I say seasoned with a little bit of lemon flair Food 5 Service 5 Place 5 I'm telling you I like the seasoning so much. I brought some to take back to miami last time I was here.I put it on my burgers and chicken when I cook at home. Mimi's has a new location that now accommodates inside and outside seating. Tried different options today. The chips and salsa were so fresh. The Birria tacos are so darn delicious and the sauce is no joke either. Each bite was better than the last. The white peach italian ice was the perfect dessert. Alot of sweetness and the consistency is smooth almost like ice cream. I haven't had anything bad from here I'm looking forward to trying more menu items.

Mimi's Craft Kitchen has so much I want to try. Located in Little Italy (therefore parking can be tight) doesn't accept reservations. Went at 1pm and was able to get a seat as the restaurant is intimate. The server was great and patient because I couldn't make up my mind. The food was seasoned just right and reasonably priced! That Anejo Lime Pasta is a hit! I'll have to try the Bourbon Salmon so I know I'll be back.

Mimi's Craft Kitchen formerly "Mimi Tacos" has a new look and menu! My friend and I both got the anejo pasta, chicken and shrimp. It was pretty good, just a little lime kick. The portion was plentiful. We also got the cauliflower, good. martinis were interesting, but the OG margaritas were amazing!!! Service was ok.

I placed an order for the jerk chicken tacos and birria. I also ordered the wings with Chipotle sauce. The tacos had a delightful flavor, but the sauce was thicker than what is typical for birria. The peach mojito was quite enjoyable. The restaurant was not very crowded when I first arrived, but it became busier as time went on. The service was generally good, but they could benefit from additional staff to ensure they can be more attentive to customers. The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. Oh yeah the cauliflower was delicious.

Tasty tacos on the go. The service is friendly. It appears to be a loved neighborhood spot. The counter staff spoke to most people by name. It wasn't the most authentic taco experience that I've had but it was worth the visit.

If I could give -MiMiCraft Kitchen 100 stars I would. From the time you walk through the door you are greeted with kindness. The menu is exceptional. Taste is perfect. The seating is comfortable and spacious. The atmosphere is home with friends you didn't know you needed in your life. Four TV's playing various movies and sports. Oh!! Did I forget to mention the music. Wow!!! The music is amazing. Eclectic and soothing. You sing and dance in your seat with other 'Friends'. MiMi's Craft Kitchen is the spot on Taylor St in the heart of the Medical District you must come to for lunch and meet your new favorite place in the city. Try the Crazy Cauliflower, tell them Regina sent you. You will not be disappointed! :)

Rasta pasta wasn't very good but wings were tasty. I'll order just wings or tacos now

Now known as MiMi's Craft Kitchen they have truly outdone them selves. Often times black owned restaurants have the stigma of traditional soul but these flavors from the tequila lime pasta to the black garlic gravy were truly outstanding. The details of the strawberry salad were impressive w/ a house made lemon vinaigrette. Food was a 10/10. Service was great! Shannan & Jordan were so helpful and ON POINT! Great selection of music for everyone. Very clean! I 100% recommend. As a chef my hats off to the ownership! @cookingwithcam

I have been here before they moved to the new location. Italian ice taste fresh and the tacos were seasoned well. On this trip I had the citrus lime anejo chicken pasta. It was a bit too much lime/citrus for me. I prefer certain pastas to be spicy so I added hot peppers. They added pickled peppers and fresh jalapenos would've been better because it didn't give it that spice kick I was looking for, but that's me. I love spicy!! I will still be back because the new location has a seat down area and serve drinks. The gentlemen that were at the register/counter were friendly. I believe they were 2 of the owners. It's kind of small but not too crowded the day I picked up my food. I'm sure they will get crowded once people realize they have new items on the menu and can now sit down.

Customer service was spot on! The lady that waited on me (Mayb Mimi) was pleasant, offered suggestions and favorites. The food took about the exact amount of time that she told me. While I sat and waited the music was lots of old school R&B and hip hop. Others started coming in and the lady was just as kind and attentive to all the guest that came In Now what you really came here for! What I ate. So I got the broccoli bowl with jerk chicken onions cilantro vegan cheese and pico... the smell on the ride home was killing me. It smelled like I needed to pull over and eat right then and there! I open this container to a mountain of goodness. First it can feed 2-3 lol. But I ain't sharing! The spice was just right it is layered exactly how she explained it to me with LOADS of flavor. Let me just let you see. And go see Mimi and them. I can't wait to taste something new! The menu has many options and they even sell Italian ice. If you dine in they have adult beverages. I was too hungry to take any pics of the menu and the inside. But it's a cute spot for sure. Oh I almost forgot about tbt fries. Garlic Parmesan. They were ok but def overshadowed by this dram bowl. Whew Chile! Delish

Husband took me here about a week ago, he was raving about how great the food was so I finally tried it. Rice was tasty, I was very happy that the rice was good & not bland tasting. The steak birria was actually really good. Nice hot&fresh crunchy shells, dipping sauce (idk the correct name for it) was great, fries were great.. Italian ice was delicious, sooooo flavorful! My husband met one of the cooks (Jamal) while he was at work some time ago & he still remembered my husband which I was surprised at lol but he treated us very well. Service definitely 5 stars

Finally, I found a spot near my home that has DELICIOUS food. I also finally got to try the Birria tacos. Amazing!!!!! I will return to try more food. The fries were simply fantastic. Service was great and the guy who takes your order is so personable and friendly. Love it. I'll be back guys.

Came across MiMi's by chance, & it was love at first bite! Food is always made-to-order, the veggies are fresh & crunchy, including the in-house pico de gallo. They offer Italian ice which is hand mixed on location as well! Excited to hear that they're relocating nearby to a larger area with more seating, & an outdoor patio (I stalk their IG @tacosbymimi.) My go-to: taco fries/taco 'tots (your choice of protein, add jerk sauce for spice) *include all toppings, lettuce, tomato, pico de gallo, jalapeño, sour cream. My food never stands a chance make it out of my car, it's always so good I have to stop and enjoy it while en route to my next stop.

Second you walk in, vibes are immaculate. Food was incredible, I think this is the only time I've ever made 3 separate transactions in one meal. Like I thought I was done but I wasn't. Their jerk chicken tacos were amazing, might be the best jerk I've had in Chicago and that's comparing to handful of good competitors. Def coming back.

I love me some good tacos. I heard Mimi's was a place to come for tacos. FYI... Closed On Monday's. I found out the hard way when I came on a Monday, and it was closed. Small taco place but nice and clean. I was greeted when I entered the restaurant. Nice friendly vibes. Good music playing. I can tell this is a very popular place to come for food. There were only 2 people working there but they were getting out the order. It took some time to place my order. It was that busy (online orders) etc. But I was willing to wait to see what the fuss was about. I placed my order two steak tacos with a side of rice. I couldn't wait to get home to try out the food. This is just my thought on the food it as ok. I had much better tacos. My steak tacos lack flavored, and was dry. I akso, didn't like the seasoning on the rice. The 3 Star review is giving for the great customer service.

I was told to call back 10 mins before heading over. When I called back, I was placed on hold. After holding I just hung up. I called back and spoke with Jamal. Jamal told me "you were only waiting for 3 mins and when I went to pick up the phone I didn't hear nothing". So as to not argue because that's wasting my time and my good energy... I ignored the tacky slick comment and placed my order for pickup. [MY ORDER] (2) Pulled Chicken Birra Tacos (1) Cheese Tots Side of: Lettuce, Pico de Gallo [THERE's MORE...] When I got inside I waited a little bit for my food to be finished. It was a bit tight as it's a small space but people got their orders and were out. When it was my turn to pay my total was $17 and change. I went ahead and gave $20 just to get out of there. [OVERALL] The food was good. Portions are good. Customer service is: poor and lacking - I'M HUGE ON CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SUPPORTING BLACK OWNED BUSINESSES BUT because of this experience... I would NEVER return.

I was in the area running errands and got hungry, so I decided to check them out. Plus, I've seen reels about this location, and it looks so good. So, I had to try it. The Restaurant was very clean, and I was greeted when I walked in. I ordered the MiMi's O.G. Fries, Pulled Chicken Birria with No Onions and Cilantro, Shredded Beef Birria with No Onions and Cilantro and Chicken Taco with Cheese and Sour Cream. When I got my food I couldn't wait to get home to try it as it smelled so good. I did have onions and cilantro on both my birria which turned out to be a good thing and I liked the flavor it gave. The Fries were basic. Overall, a mistake turned into a wonderful thing. Everything was very tasty, and I would stop in again

Food is delicious and the staff is so nice! We ordered the jerk chicken loaded fries with everything. The jerk chicken was well seasoned. While waiting, we also got tot sample the white peach and piña colada Italian ice made with fresh fruit. Everything was amazing!

Coming from someone who really doesn't put tacos at the top half of her go-to cuisines list: I'm a fan! Picked up a couple combo orders of the birria along with some fries because I was in the area and my husband is a big tacos fan. I have to say- I'm converted. Crispy, yet chewy outer shell, perfectly seasoned, so oily (in a this-is-probably-not-healthy-but-I-dont-care way), it was perfection. And the fries were A+ of course! Would love to try out other proteins next time, and get my hands on more of those tots.

Drove for 40 minutes after a 10 hour shift to patronize this black business. Since I was obviously tired, I ordered my food for pickup about minutes before I arrived so I wouldn't have to wait long. I selected curbside delivery and called the restaurant once I was outside. No answer. Not a huge deal, so I went inside and was told by a woman it would be 4 minutes until my order was ready. I asked if she would bring it out to me and she said yes. I went back to my car since I didn't want to get a ticket for being parked in the bus lane. I'm watching the door so I can honk when my food is brought out and notice a white couple with a baby go in. I make a phone call and realize I have waited about 15 minutes, when I was told it would only be 4 minutes. Again, not a huge deal if I will get fresh hot food for the wait. I go back in and am told by a guy it would be a few more minutes. Again, I ask if he can bring it out to the car, was told yes, again I go back to my car to wait. Not long after I get back in my car do I see the same white couple leaving with their food. I know they didn't preorder because I saw the receipt in their hand as they left to walk around until their food was ready. I was watching the door the entire time I was waiting for my food so I noticed who came in and out. From the time I ordered to the time I received my food it was over 45 minutes. For three tacos and a hamburger. All of which was old, salty, and overcooked. It is obvious my time and money was not valued, so I won't ever be back. Extremely disappointing that Chicago has another black restaurant that has no idea on how to run a business. Do better.

Service was horrible. Waited 20 minutes for a seat only to finally get seated and no one came to even offer a glass of water. Then someone was using their vape pen... smoke everywhere.... Couldn't sit through it. I won't be back.

Sh!ts trash and y'all know it. Stop gassing. Too much salt, store bought tortillas, chewy meat. If the food is not good all the time...it's trash. Patty melt on IG shows fresh ground beef...nope was served a frozen patty. Basura. Oh and the service also trash. Watched people come in and order after me and then get their food before me. Like a lot of food. Ordered online. Not sure why they offer ordering online when they don't like online orders. ‍ go to the hood where the people who make tacos know how to make tacos and eat there.

What a gem! This has been on my list of places to check out for a few months. My Son had a soccer game over at UIC so we decided to stop by for some after game eats. The place is very small with just one table and just enough space for about 6 people to stand comfortably. Definitely a pick up and go establishment. I ordered the jerk chicken birria tacos with rice and The Sun ordered the burger no onion with fries. Everything was made fresh to order and we were serviced pretty quickly. The birria tacos were very yummy! The consume wasn't the best I've had, but it did give the tacos a great flavor. The rice was tasty and went well with the tacos I just wish I had some beans to go with it. My son said the burger was the best he's ever had and he can't wait to go back to get another one! It's safe to say that Mimi's will now be a staple in this household! If you're in the area be sure to support this black owned business! You won't regret it!

Ok so social media lead me to this place! Very small and clean establishment! I would recommend ordering ahead/online as it is a small business with 3 workers(it was 3 when I visited). 1. Jerk Taco Birria was a hit although I didn't like the sauce and the rice was too salty for MY taste 2. Jerk taco was good w/pineapple pico but the jerk seasoning gave me Walkerswood Mild jerk seasoning vibes 3. Chicken taco- I can't remember the taste cause I ate it so fast while waiting in traffic 4. Og turkey- had a nice lil kick/spicy flavor

Food was GOOOOOOOOD and severvice was GREAT. The quality of food was awesome and I'll DEFINITELY be back k again to try the tacos and burger. I had the broccoli chicken bowl and it was seasoned and cooked perfectly. If you're thinking about trying them TRY it and ask for the Dulla Broccoli Bowl

I found this place on Instagram, and have ordered at least six times. The jerk chicken birria tacos are so bomb! The ground Turkey tacos are really good as well, and I love the pineapple salsa. I don't care for the consommé, but I don't need it. I'm so grateful to have found this gem!

The woman in red with a bonnet energy was off, unprofessional, and not welcoming. I do not recommend it. The chicken wings were baby wings. After seeing those wings I will not eat a chicken again. So sad that killed that baby for it to go to waste because we didn't eat. The woman was apparently the owner smh. Such a terrible attitude to have toward paying customers. Unfortunately, we were not the only ones who had a terrible experience with this same woman. The manager Jamal was very accommodating and witnessed what I experienced, acknowledged it, and tried to make or right Such a shame for black people to have such a terrible experience when we want to support our own. If you want to experience good food and customer service please visit browns soul food out West. They will treat you like family, you will have to wait because food is made fresh to order. The cauliflower was great. Not many great things I can say but there are two things. Don't waste your time, energy, and hard own money.

Mimi's is my new favorite neighborhood spot! I had the Real Deal cheeseburger, OG fries, and a chicken jerk taco. Everything was so delicious and the portion sizes are huge! The cheeseburger is easily the best burger I've had in South Loop. The jerk chicken taco had so much flavor and the fries were fresh and crispy. The customer service is also top notch. They gave me a sample of their homemade Italian ice while I waited for my food and it was sooooo fresh and delicious. I love everything about this place! Highly recommend.

Great food and service! We ordered a smorgasboard of items and loved them all. My five year old especially loved the burger, and I enjoyed the OG loaded fries the most. We also tried the birria beef and jerk chicken tacos.

The food is delicious, periodt! I always order the jerk chicken birria and the garlic broccoli. I'm never disappointed.

AMAZING! The food was so full of flavor and the portions-to-price ratio was spot on...worth every penny. What's even better, I was able to have leftovers the next day that tasted just as good as the day before unlike most other taco places. Service was great and the spot was clean and inviting...5 Stars for sure!

This review is going to be a contradiction but bare with me. On one hand the jerk chicken taco was delicious & quite possibly my new favorite dish in south loop. On the other hand the birria tacos & accompanying dipping sauce were FLAVORLESS. Keep in mind that I've never had a birria from any restaurant that was worth any notoriety. I don't know what I'm expecting birria to taste like but I'm officially giving up on it. The chicken taco was quite hefty so much so that I think two would suffice for any size of appetite. I also opted for the $2 addition of O.G fries (not pictured) which I must say were seasoned well. I plan on returning to try other menu items but everyone coming here should try the jerk chicken taco.

The Italian Ice is to die for! I had the White Peach and my daughter tried Pina Colada, the Best I've ever had!!!!Dominic was a pleasure, he explained the menu and gave us recommendations. What are you waiting on, get here!!! You will not be disappointed, I'll be back to leave a review on the food we ordered.

Food was unexpected, good and flavorful. we ordered hamburger an a turkey burger with garlic fries and a side of broccoli. THE BROCCOLI IS BY FAR THE BEST I HAVE HAD FROM FINE DINNING TO PLEASE TAKE THAT OFF THE MENU. Portions are huge for the price. The entire hamburger was eaten before the guy was able to check in on us. We were able to eat in the restaurant and the service was excellent. After all the food we consumed we were giving samples of the Italian ice. The restaurant is in a nice space but small, good to know they are in the process of moving. I love tacos, fries and broccoli and look forward to eating at MiMi's soon.

My friend told me about this spot that sells vegan tacos that taste better than the meat tacos at some places. I've been going to Mimi's for my taco fix ever since! I typically order the same thing every time, 3 fake taco and tots combo w/everything except cheese and sour cream. Weeeeell, today I decided to try the fake birria tacos w/vegan cheese (can't have birria without cheese, now can you?!) and let me tell you, they do NOT disappoint! I tend to stay away from vegan cheese because a lot of brands aren't appetizing at all. Mimi's got it right! The cheese melts so well and is delicious. The service is always on point and the tacos are truly chef's kiss good! There's no pic because, as usual, I'm HUNGRY and I'm actually writing this review as I'm eating. Treat ya'self and head over to Mimi's.

To-go tacos - the chicken and steak are insanely good. We stopped by here on a whim while walking around visiting out of state, glad we did. Great service, they even offered us a sample of the home-made Italian ice. The garlic rosemary fries smelled crazy good and almost didn't make it the walk back to our hotel. Fantastic flavor - will be back!

Popped in early on a Friday night and ordered at the counter, getting the food a few minutes later. I quite enjoyed the range of tacos, but my wife would give 3 stars. Got the Fake taco, Jerk taco (spicier), Chicken, and Original.

For a order up spot I definitely was surprised by how good the food was at Mimi's. I have only had the tacos & rice here, but I've enjoyed them all. The OG (Turkey) is my favorite taco, but I love how they also have a vegan option called The Fake. The owners are also very polite and make sure the orders are perfect. I see this place being open for a long time!

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! The flavors are dynamic. Quick service. It's a small business. I wish they had more space to sit and enjoy. I find the prices reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The food is made fresh! The jerk chicken tacos and garlic fries were *rubs my tummy* delicious!

I went yesterday for some tacos...Ok so I ordered the special which is two tacos and a side which was tater tots!! Ok I ordered the turkey tacos and I must say I don't understand or get the hype . My turkey tacos was dry asf and the taco shells wasn't cooked or even warm so all in all this chick gave me semi cold turkey tacos!! No seasoning or flavor existed and yeah it's a big NO! Too bad I can't give zero stars and eat at your own risk.

This hidden Jewel is black owned and MiMi herself takes and makes orders the establishment is small but clean I ordered the loaded tots for my friend and I got the Brocoli and a cheese burger OMG so delish it was fresh and hot and a great quantity for the amount charged . I can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu

I found this place because it use to be a pizza spot that I go to for lunch and I like tacos so why not give them a try. Inside is small but nice and inviting. There was only 1 lady working and she was pretty nice. I ordered 2 chicken tacos with cheese, lettuce and pico de gallo and a order of fries. The fries are delicious. I'm not sure why I got a mix of waffle and regular fries though. The taco is pretty good. They give a good amount of chicken. The only issue I have is that they don't do ground beef which is why I settled for chicken. Overall the food and vibes were cool. I will be trying other items on the menu in the future
