We greatly enjoyed our visit and meal at Mim's. Our order included Greek Vegetable Soup, Veggie Gyro, Garlic Hummus w/pita, Zeus Super Greek Salad, and vegan chocolate cake. Our order was about $46. The soup was full of flavor and definitely a comfort food. We were well taken care of by the owner, Brett. He was friendly and very welcoming. We were even treated to a couple of samples of his other menu items including the tabbouleh and the corn chowder soup. The food was amazing, so healthy, and full of flavor. It was a highlight to our visit in Petoskey. Thank you, Brett!

Google
Wow, for $16.00 this is what I get?? No thank you! Didn't even try this food. The side pasta salad was larger than the actual meal. **edit: after trying the food, I could only draw one conclusion, not a fan at all. The Curry Chicken Plate reminded me of my college days of eating those horrible chicken ramen noodles to survive while paying for school.... 😩 no need to imagine how the rest taste, I'll tell ya, just as basic as the curry. Only positive thing in my case, I wasn't given a frozen salad to eat, like my partner🤭😂 ** couldn't even heat up the Pita Bread 😔

Google
Location and service is good ….Food is okay not that great…we expected more

Google
Maybe the gyros are what you're supposed to order? I got the chicken kabob and was overly disappointed with the $16 meal. The ONE skewer of chicken was dry and came with unflavoured rice and a store bought pita (I can see where a machine pressed the dough). Side salad was decent, dressing wasn't homemade and looked store bought. The guy working the register was so nice and friendly. Everyone who came in he greeted and was making conversation...great employee.

Google
Spectacular! All the food is super fresh and home made. We love all the healthy options and the staff is the absolute nicest people. I have no problem giving my money to this restaurant and the prices are very reasonable. Quality food that is obviously made with care.

Google
First time ordering from here! I loved it!! The staff was really friendly, probably the nicest staff I've run into in a while.. prices are reasonable, good portion sizes. I got the Classic gyro with pita chips it was really good the pita chips were crispy and fluffy! Probably will come here again to try more!

Google
Fantastic food. Extremely friendly staff. The gyro I had was fresh, perfectly balanced and delicious. Ask for some fiery feta sauce. It's amazing! Brett gave us some samples of curry chowder soup. It was very warming and perfect for the snowy weather.

Google
We really enjoyed our lunch here. All the folks working were very helpful and attentive. The service was truly the highlight here. The patio is so cute! It would be great to eat lunch on a nice day. The fish and chips were good. The gyro was amazing. The chicken and feta fries are just okay. We loved all the different Bubly flavors they had to choose from. The nachos are definitely a 2 person meal.

Yelp
Flavor, portion sizes, and quality of ingredients all needs revisiting. Maybe it was a bad day for me, however, try being more transparent with letting folks know what they are receiving for the prices you are charging, very misleading. Just overall, not my Style/Taste of Greek/ Mediterranean Food. Meal included side of dry, undercooked and under-flavored rice; "pico", which is literally just the vegetables cut up with nothing on them; tzatziki; 4oz of Shredded Curry Chicken, which reminds me of a chicken ramen noodle packet; thinly sliced iceberg lettuce for garnish with a store purchased pita bread.

Sean C.

Yelp
I was really excited for my Gyro after seeing so many others. However, I was left with a pretty mediocre product that had very little flavor. First, there was tons of sauce - it was supposed to be tzatziki sauce, but it tasted more like sour cream. It took over every bite instead of adding to the overall flavor. Next, the meat was pretty tasteless too; I tried to eat some meat alone, but it wasn't easy since it was dry and dull. However, maybe grab some pita chips. Those were tasty and had a nice seasoning. Beyond those chips, I would steer clear.

Heather B.

Yelp
We love Mim's and have for years. However, I had to do a review because we tried the brownie/peanut butter/m&m magic dessert in the fridge and HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Seriously. Don't just stare at it, get one. Or two so you don't have to share. Also the veggie gyro with falafel added is the best. But get that dessert so you can have an amazing day.

Lisbeth V.

Yelp
Not only delicious but very accommodating to food restrictions. Was also nice to get our meal very quickly and get back on the road.

Stacie B.

Yelp
This is acute spot which I would label fast casual. The atmosphere is very fun with brightly painted walls and decor, and there are seats out back on a patio as well as inside. Once you enter the counter and kitchen are right there. You have a menu board and you place your order at the counter. It seems a bit like a fast food experience but a bit more upscale. The staff were very friendly and engaging which was nice. We ordered and then they brought it out to us shortly. After having just visited a Mediterranean country this was a bit Americanized for our tastes but still good. The spanikopita was tasty and can with two squares. It didn't display much feta inside but tasted creamy so had good flavors. The fiery feta fries were probably our favorite as they were hot and the spice level of the feta dip was perfect. I'm not sure what's in it but that is a definite to try! The falafel gyro looked a bit well done but had good flavors if a bit overly fried. My only real disappointment was in the supposed tzatziki sauce on the gyro. It was more if either a yogurt or sour cream but did not have the spices, cucumber or garlic to make it a real tzatziki. The gyro was filling and a good portion for the cost, but not sure If do that again as the sauce just left me unsatisfied. It was for sure an Americanized version which is probably fine for most people as it wasn't dry or anything, just not tzatziki. It was a fun experience and we are glad we tried it, and if you are craving a fast casual experience craving this would be perfect. They were busy and seem to have great staff which made the experience fun.

Chelsea L.

Yelp
Really tasty takes on fast-casual Mediterranean fare. Falafel was maybe a little over-done, but we came in at the middle of the lunch rush, so I'll forgive it. Service was great and friendly even though they were busy. Speaking of which, parking lot is small, and the place next door will tow you if you park there, so maybe avoid peak time, or take it to go if you can.

Robert S.

Yelp
I enjoy the flavors of Mediterranean food. I got the Original Gyro and it was exactly what I was looking for. The flavors were great and the serving size was well worth the price. I have been to several food truck / container parks and Mim's found a really good spot. Highly recommend.

Ken S.

Yelp
Consistently good food, good service. We like the original gyros and the nachos. Good seafood as well!

Benny D.

Yelp
Chrispy chicken gyro with honey mustard, thats all you need to know. Side note, some of the best service I've had in a long time. The gentleman helping me out was very thankful for my business and thanked me for allowing them to prepare my meal on a busy holiday week. Special stuff you don't really see elsewhere

Jessica K.

Yelp
Great little house restaurant. They do provide outdoor seating on the back porch. Very colorful and unique atmosphere! Food was great. Customer service was fast and the worker's were polite! If you really really love Garlic, I would recommend the garlic hummus.... very strong!

Henry R.

Yelp
I traveled from Lansing, and I can't find a spot down there that serves lake perch like Mim's. It's a must stop when I make the trip north of the 45th parallel.

Peg P.

Yelp
So crazy good! For something healthy and incredibly tasty, get the Greek Power Bowl made with roasted zucchini, fresh tomatoes, chickpeas, and cucumber, served on a bed of raw baby spinach and quinoa. I ordered falafel as the protein, but you can get chicken or lamb. Served with a vinaigrette and tzatziki, it was both fresh and filling. The fish and chips was a less healthy but equally delicious option. The battered cod was perfection. Fried crisp with no greasiness and piping hot. And how have I never tried fries with salt and pepper? I vow here and now to never have fries any other way. Mim's is cute and very clean but in no way fancy. It's the kind of place you go after the beach or snowshoeing or whatever one does in Northern Michigan. Service is fast and friendly and very helpful to novices ordering from the menu posted above the counter. Friends recommended this place for the apparently legendary fried perch, only available on Thursdays and Fridays. We missed that opportunity, but we were delighted nonetheless.

Karen B.

Yelp
I've driven by this little unassuming stop so many times. Today I finally stopped. LOVED the zesty falafel sandwich. I'd share a picture. But it's in my belly already. Will definitely stop again.

T G.

Yelp
Excellent food and incredibly nice people. I ordered the original gyro and greek salad. The portions were large and everything seemed fresh.

Annette T.

Yelp
Arrived at 4 on a Thursday. Just a few tables had diners. We placed our order, paid and sat down at an inside table, 10 minutes later our food was cheerfully brought to us. So hot we could hardly touch it! Hurray! You know it was just made! We ordered original gyros and fries and pop. Our food was delicious, (nicely seasoned meat, taziki sauce...you could see the chopped cukes, wrapped in hot tender pita,) nicely presented in paper lined baskets along with real silverware. As we were waiting on our order, more diners began to arrive. By the time we left, Mims was getting really busy. This cute spot is a true gem. They deserve all of 5 stars!

Louis C.

Yelp
Friendly, courteous service and wonderful food!! Excellent veggie options too!! Greek Power Bowl: a delicious base of rice with spinach, grilled zucchini, garbanzos, feta, cucumber, banana peppers and onions. Got it with the falafel which comes in patty form and is absolutely delicious. Honestly some is the best I've had. A great healthy option if you're on the lookout... Zeus Greek Salad: fresh, tasty and the beets are a fantastic addition. Gyro: perfectly prepared meat with tomato and really tasty and fresh Tzatziki sauce. Love how they wrap the gyros old school style with the tight foil wrap! Also, the fries are excellent here and come with a light sprinkle of Greek spices. So glad to have found this place while visiting Harbor Springs.

Joelle G.

Yelp
Four of us came for lunch, had a classic gyro, a Zeus super Greek salad, a Greek vegetable soup and a pasta salad - everything was very fresh, the salad was huge, the place is really cute: even if small and more of a fast food feel, there's an obvious effort to make the place cozy and colorful. And finally the service is super friendly. Highly recommend if you look for something fresh and good for lunch!

Michael B.

Yelp
Great food great choices great service great prices. Patronize frequently to sample all the delicious choices

Kristina M.

Yelp
The service was great. The food was not so great. It was overpriced and not good. The falafel patty was hard and dry. The hummus was not fresh. It felt like ordering from an airport fast food place. The falafel patty and pita bread was warmed up and the Greek salad and hummus was packaged like at an airport.

Fernanda P.

Yelp
I love their gyros over rice and tabouli salad, it's a light and healthy meal and it tastes great. It's delicious at their restaurant or at their food truck at the back lot, downtown Petoskey..

Lindsey D.

Yelp
If we could give a higher rating we would. The owner Brett & his staff were friendly & down to earth. The food we engulfed was absolutely insane. All around the atmosphere in the restaurant was really welcoming. No doubt we'd recommend to anyone !!! Peace Love Mims

Nathan L.

Yelp
This place was outstanding. I was visiting from out of town and had some questions regarding a food allergy. The person taking my order, who ended up being the owner, was extremely helpful and very friendly. The curry corn chowder is excellent, if you haven't tried it you should.

Lisa W.

Yelp
What a delicious find! We were searching Yelp for someplace to eat, and when we saw the pics of food we knew we needed to try it out. So glad we did! There is a small eating area which is cozy and bright. This place has a fun vibe! Ordering at the window was quick and easy and it wasn't a long wait before our food was brought out to us. We all order gyros. They were delicious!! The fries were seasoned and were also very good. We had baklava for dessert. I highly recommend this place. Reasonable prices and great service.

Victoria M.

Yelp
Never disappoints!!! This is absolutely the best gyro we ever had and we're from Chicago! And, the staff couldn't be nicer, more friendly or helpful. Add Mims to your must try restaurant list.

Jonathan P.

Yelp
Best Mediterranean food in Northern Michigan! We got chicken kabob plates with a side Greek salad. Just excellent. The owner Brett is a good guy too! Definitely recommend stopping here

Tim A.

Yelp
Old world style; great tasty food, super service, everyone friendly, feels like home in the old country. And dining on the porch on a beautiful afternoon.

Dew E.

Yelp
Get the nachos Even if you don't like olives. Or olives and banana peppers (me). You'll still be happy with your choice. Everyone else was pleased with their gyros, shawarmas, the vegetarian options. Everyone was pleased. Staff was super friendly

Sydney S.

Yelp
Great lunch today for both of us. He ordered the reg gyro while I ordered the crispy chicken gyro. Both were awesome. Highly recommend

Matt M.

Yelp
Excellent original Gyro. High quality food excellent price. Staff are very helpful. Restaurant was very unique. Excellent experience.

Frankie C.

Yelp
This is the only fast casual place where I'd rate the service as 5 star. The guy who took order was just high class. Two of us got the power bowls, they did not disappoint. Our 12 year old had his first gyro and enjoyed it. Fries were good and plentiful. There was a nice looking deck out back but it was full.

Tim P.

Yelp
Excellent Gyros. Fries are crispy and you have to get the special dipping sauce. Very good. Sat outside on the back deck. Service was outstanding.

Karen L.

Yelp
Best Gyros ever! I got the Neptune Gyro which is freshly beer battered cod with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, tartar sauce, and American cheese. Amazing combination of flavors! I can't recommend this place enough! The service is excellent as well. Everyone is very friendly. Go get a gyro!

Billy L.

Yelp
There are 12 different options for gyros sandwiches at this restaurant and they all sound very creative. I got the veggie gyro and my friend got the chicken club gyro. When you call and place an order they ask what type of car you are driving and if you can get there within 15 minutes. Then they take the payment over the phone and tell you to pull around back and park and they will announce the names as they bring the order out and place it on a picnic table. They call the names and walk away after they signal you that this is your order. The food was delicious and they had a very efficient and safe carry out system in place. There is a tip jar on the picnic table if you feel like leaving a tip when you pick it up. I would definitely order from here again if I was in the area.

Debbie N.

Yelp
What a little gem! Lots of menu options. Pita bread served warm, delicious! Gyro's were excellent, fresh and tasty. Great customer service, very friendly and accommodating. Food was delivered within a few minutes. Although parking can be challenging I still highly recommend.

Kaitlyn O.

Yelp
This is a MUST STOP place in Petoskey. We were traveling through and stopped at this gem. I loved the vibrant colors of the building and was instantly impressed by the professionalism of the owner (who took our order). Everything was fresh, quickly served, and I will be dreaming about the spicy feta dip for weeks!

Al B.

Yelp
Always good food and good service. They always seem busy at lunch time. Has a bright and cheerful inside, with a small cafe type seating.

Hannah F.

Yelp
Who would possibly expect such delicious Mediterranean food in Petoskey Michigan? We visited for lunch on Thursday. They have takeout only and a very safe ordering and pick-up system. (Go to front to place your order, then wait in you car until they bring your food out to the back table). We ordered the veggie delight+falafel , Classic Gyro, Hades Shrimp Gyro, and the Thursday and Friday Perch Fry Platter ($7 more, extra perch). We also added a side Greek Salad to one of the gyros. The classic gyro is truly one of the best I've had in Michigan. Soft, fluffy pita bread filled with tender, flavorful gyro meat, thinly sliced onion, thick tomato slices, and creamy tzatziki sauce. Simple yet so delicious and satisfying. The Hades Shrimp Gyro gave me strong taco vibes. It was a bit spicy, and the shrimp was well seasoned but not as crunchy as I'd like. The veggie gyro was well seasoned, but stuffed with perhaps a bit too much spinach. The side salad was a also colorful, nutritious, and satisfying. Honestly, the most disappointing dish was the perch platter. The fries were decent, but the fish was bland and not very crunchy. Also, there wasn't very much of it considering it was a platter. The Tartar sauce was creamy & delicious, I think it was homemade, but the coleslaw was odd and not very good. (It had celery?) Great value, amazing soft pita bread, and reasonable prices! Come for delicious nutritious food and support this amazing local business!

Brian H.

Yelp
Consistency in service, food, speed. Great place! Highly recommend for a quick and casual bite. Try their food truck too.

Jim B.

Yelp
I stopped here after looking for Petoskey stones at the local beach. Honestly, being from Los Angeles, I wasn't expecting much and was just hoping to get a decent meal. I was very pleasantly surprised. The service was top notch and the food was excellent with generous portion sizes. I would definitely stop in again if I was in the area.

Dar W.

Yelp
With the most incredible food and customer service this northern Michigan restaurant is a secret for the locals. I wish could say that, but Mims is also very well know with our visitors. The food, whatever you chose, is sooo delicious. I especially like the gyro's. You can even buy the meat per ounce to make a gyro at home. The best!

Joe H.

Yelp
Lucky to find this in YELP when wondering around, good photos and feedbacks from others and with valued information.

Marie P.

Yelp
Always great food and polite service! Keep up the great work! My favorite is the Hades shrimp on a bed of spinach! You can't go wrong with this good of food!

Teri M.

Yelp
The food is so good! It is fresh and seasoned just right. I highly recommend Mim's. You will not be disappointed!

Eric L.

Yelp
I'd love to write a critical review but these guys are the nicest people in the cutest shop ever. Service is great, food was good, prices were great. If I lived here, I'd be eating here once a week.

Zohar B.

Yelp
What are the odds of finding good Greek food in Petoske MI? I don't know, but for me it was a surprise how good the food was. We both had Gyros (classic for me, falafel for my wife). Delicious! The price is hard to beat. Service quick and friendly.

Brenda F.

Yelp
Excellent food and great and friendly service!! Love the pita chips! Definitely worth trying if you haven't already.

Marie L.

Yelp
WOW! I know Mim's has been around awhile, I've passed by many times but am SO glad we decided to choose gyros for lunch yesterday! We got the hades shrimp and original gyro, and let me start by saying we are gyro fans and tend to get one in whatever city we find ourselves, usually from little hole in the walls and city food carts where they are known to be amazing, and THESE GYROS ARE AT THE TOP OF OUR NATIONAL LIST. The pitas are soft while crisp and flavorful, the sauces are amazing and plentiful and SO IS THE PROTEIN! For the very reasonable cost you get so much meat, so much flavor and so much love! Just speaking with the owner on the phone you can tell he loves his business and his customers and takes care and special attention in all aspects. Shamelessly, we actually WENT BACK TO GET ANOTHER GYRO to share for dinner a few hours after our first visit. I could say so much more but I'll cut it short and end with the special care they are taking during COVID - the order pick up process is safe and very well done! You can either place your order and pay via phone and simply pick it up on a table out back, or you can pay inside completely contact free!! The picture is of our third gyro (the one we split for dinner) because the first two were so good we devoured them before we could take pictures. This one made it all the way down to Torch Lake and was just as amazing an hour or so after getting it as they are fresh out of the kitchen!! 10/10 recommend

Thefamily M.

Yelp
The best Mediterranean food in the area. The gyros are Spot on.... baklava is fresh and homemade deliciousness Classic Gyro Mediterranean Plate

Ken S.

Yelp
We've always had a great meal when we choose Mims. Always fresh, always hot. The best place for a good place to eat. Unfortunately, the zucchini and a few other items are not available. No worries. We make the best of it.
