Minato Izakaya & Garden by Porto Salvo

The food was super delicious to have a brand new updated menu and I had the chicken and shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were super seasoned. Very delicious and I had to order extra ones. I also had the tamarind Mojito and it was delicious as well. It had a nice mint flavor with tamarind mint flavor, just right. I just love this place. It was super cozy and everybody was respectful and nice and hospitable.

I have to say that this place has undergone several changes since it opened there's always the possibility of finding some variation in the food every time you go back. But what surprised me most was the quality of the drinks and the dedication and professionalism with which they are prepared as well as the attention to detail that makes them so delicious. I'm surprised by the quality of the drinks here in the Bronx. And I'm also surprised by the drastic change from a Japanese restaurant to a Mexican one. Marco provided excellent service, and the drinks were more than perfect.

Went to Minato yesterday to check it out and it was great. At first, I was disappointed by the lack of sushi on the menu. Marcos explained the menu changed at the new year to a mostly Mexican menu. He gave recommendations and didn’t disappoint one bit. Marcos was an awesome bartender and server. The steak/shrimp nachos I ordered were so delicious and well prepared. Definitely will be back to this hidden gem.

I remembered this place and had to leave a review, and I love it! The decor is amazing and the drinks are very generous It's a small cozy place, not too noisy, with great music and excellent service The cocktails are the best the bartender Marco is very friendly, and the service is top-notch. I highly recommend the tacos plus, they have great happy hour deals and other off-menu specials 😉

First time in NYC. Arrived late at night after landed. Disappointed to see it became a Mexican Tapas bar without updates on the Google map. I was expecting to have Sushi but they no longer serve sushi. They still have a few appetizers like Karaage chicken and Edamame. But just don't expect it is Japanese at all. We ordered Tacos, Octopus stew and seafood ceviche that is not bad. If I know what I am coming for, I would probably felt better.

I spent a pleasant afternoon here with my family on Sunday and found this place. I loved the service. The waiter Marco served us at a very nice table in the garden I loved it The drinks weren't perfect, but they had their charm The food was spectacular I will definitely return Very good. 10/10

First time here and the service was amazing , Food is great , drinks are great , Marco top tier bartending and interpersonal skill , variety , Mexican and Japanese culture definitely recommend the Arancini 🔥🔥🔥

This place used to have some of the best sushi you can eat in the South Bronx. The cocktails used to be amazing the staff was outstanding. However ever since mid last year change to a Japanese restaurant that doesn’t have any sushi or Japanese cuisine only cheap Mexican food you can be better off buying in any cheap bodega in the Bronx and overpriced. Worst thing is a demoralized staff. My guess is this place would not last more than 6 months if it doesn’t fix this huge problem or their better off turning the place into a cheap dive bar.

I have been dying for a Japanese restaurant with some high quality fish. I was waiting for this place to open up since I love Porto Salvo. I decided to spend a Monday evening here. Food: 4/5 Honestly, finding high qualify ebi (shrimp) and ikura (salmon eggs) in the Bronx was impossible before this place. I would often find myself going to Manhattan just for a decent assortment of fish. When I tried the chirashi here, I was surprised. I usually get some mediocre salmon and tuna. But, this was great! We got some plum wine (which we took home to finish) and enjoyed the evening. Service & Ambiance: 5/5 I really enjoyed our waiter/host, Thomas! He was super nice and really knew the whiskey menu. All in all, I always get a few bites here for my sushi fix before heading over to Porto Salvo. I am happy that these places were created and so close to each other!

I came with my family for dinner and it was amazing! The seafood was very fresh and the cocktails tasted delicious! The chirashi don was my absolute favorite! The owners checked in on us and the waiter was very patient and kind to us and everyone was super friendly! The vibe was casual and it was easy to be able to talk to everyone, it wasn't too loud so that was great! The music was very good and worked well with the ambiance. I would definitely recommend a friend to come here! This is also a great date spot!

The owners of Porot Salvo didn't disappoint. Finally, it is open .. announcing PORTO SALVO JAPANESE . .... Thanks Mark & Lugui I love their signature drinks and amazing dishes. We had the following. Seaweed Salad Karaage Chicken (winner) Spicy Tuna roll (winner)) California Roll Salmon Roll Chicken Katsu Don (just enough) Chirashi (Blanced with Rice and Assorted fish) Followed by Lychee Panna Cotta with real Lychee Green Tea Creme Brulee (I do have to admit, I loved their Basil Creme Brulee at Porto Salov.

The restaurant recently opened, and we visited, and wow! The food is fresh and delicious! The space is quiet and cozy. The owners are so friendly and take pride in providing outstanding service.

Food is very good. I love the little garden in the back. It's great place for party and gathering. Waiter is very nice and polite. This restaurant has left the best impressions for me! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide cocktail drink list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again

If only I could rate Minato higher. First time here. Recommended by my wife's student. Her mom knows who it is. Food is excellent. Service outstanding. Tomas and Ali are real assets. Def a cool place to hear tunes and dine.

I noticed the restaurant with its red sign and door a few months ago and have been wanting to check it out. My husband and I went on a Friday night and it wasn't too crowed. The front of the restaurant has a chill intimate vibe. They also have a back area thats enclosed and speakers modern zen. The waiter and waitress were very welcoming. I had a hot sake and we quickly ordered som Karaage Chicken, Shrimp Tempura and Large Salmon sushi flight. OoooEeeeeeMmmGggggg!!!! Chicken was flavorful but not overpowering. The tempera was so fresh not too greasy and the shrimp was so fresh. The sushi flight - so fresh!!! We actually ordered 2 rounds of the same items. This place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood you have to try!!! My husband and I will be going back soon!! Good vibes and amazing food!!
