Here Are New Restaurants and Bars To Try in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkeley, and the Bay Area | Eater SF

"A Berkeley specialty coffee shop aiming to build mental health awareness through things like mugs with mindfulness prompts and drinks with ingredients such as coconut oil, Mind Coffee opened on Euclid Avenue earlier this year." - Paolo Bicchieri

Google
The shop has great coffee. From their seasonal drinks to their traditional coffee. We got their S’mores by the fire latte and a light roast cortado with passion fruit notes. Both were amazing. Additionally, the drinks are thoughtful and baristas are knowledgeable and nice.

Google
I got the hojicha einspanner to go. It was pretty small given the price, but the latte itself was pretty good, though the whipped cream on top felt slightly heavy. The atmosphere of this cafe is super nice and good for working.

Google
The matcha drinks here are amazing! Just a heads up, though—the seating is pretty limited since the café is quite small. My orders were Ceremonial Iced Matcha, Matcha Mindspänner, and Okonomiyaki Danish(Bake Sum Japanese pancake dish in a danish form ; it contained fish)

Google
This place gives off college vibes. As soon as I walked in, it was packed with students studying. Some chatting pretty loudly with friends. Regular influx of people ordering. I did come at the peak time according to Google. The baristas are very busy, so I ordered from a screen. They bring the drinks to you, but call you up for food. Somehow they remember your face even without a table number. They were out of napkins, but filled them immediately when I asked. Food and drinks default as to go unless you specific otherwise. Great for work vibes, some yummy tea and noms to go. Or if you want to connect with the nostalgia of college. Not if you want meditative space to enjoy tea (my original hope from another review!)

Google
Taste Hojicha latte and fell in love with it. Anywhere else in Bay Area I can have similar Hojicha latte again ? Really want to know.

Mohsen G.

Google
First impression, I like it here more than most of the starbucks I have visited before. The place is a little small and good for people who like to sit differently and want to listen to nice music. The latte I ordered was warm good enough for me to enjoy drinking it while having my “Kouign Amann - Chocolate” and it was small and 50% of its advertised picture, but surprisingly, it was delicious and nothing like I taste before. I did give 3 stars to services, because it felt like no one was welcoming me there, I was hanging around a little bit and the baristas were deep in their brewing coffees, so I ended up ordering the food digitally by the monitor! Maybe a little more love to new people coming over welcoming them, can go a long way. Overall, 4 out of 5! Cheers!

Google
Mind is the best! They offer some of the best espresso, including beans that are coming fermented with passion fruit, ask them if they have them. They also excelsior on the trash, the match latte and hojicha latte. It is a small place so it may be hard to get a seat, but it is always worth it to get a drink there

Google
Coffee is good but employees are very rude and racist. When picking my order at the counter, I want to take pics before I put on lids. I had make sure i was not in anyone’s way before doing so. Still two employees serving at the counter joked about that they did not understand why people taking pics at the counter. I’m sure they think I had my earbuds on and I look like Asian tourist so I would never understand what they said about me. This happened on 11/23/25 between 3-30pm pst. I normally do not leave review but what they did was intolerable. Hopefully they learn to respect someday. I get that people gossip behind others back but being rude on one’s face is another level.

Yelp
Small coffee shop tucked away on Euclid Ave. My go-to order is the iced oat milk vanilla latte with the cold foam or matcha with the same. Every time I go out and walk around with my coffee, several people will stop me to ask where it's from -- and it's definitely just as good as it looks. They have unique, seasonal menus -- which are admittedly pretty hit or miss. Still thinking about the Thai iced tea latte with the coconut crisp topping! The space is quaint and lively, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend this spot for working or studying. However, the staff is friendly and the drinks are by far my favorite in Berkeley.

Aerielle S.

Yelp
Super refreshing and light! But wow I was shocked when they called my name and I saw how tiny the drink was compared to the last time I was here. Quite disappointed to see the change. However, it was bustling inside, nice place to study/chat for students! It was easy to find street parking nearby.

Yelp
Definitely always keeping this place in mind whenever I visit the area... I've came here a couple of times with friends and each time we were able to find a table inside or outside and loved the drinks I got!Seems like a spot people study at so it's moderately quiet inside. Outside there's only two benches and a table. A bathroom is available as well. There's both the register and self order kiosk to get your drinks. Yummy pastries are also available for a little snack. I think I got the chocolate babka last time? I can't recall but remember that whatever I got was scrumptious and I drank my drink uppppp... Great amount of options for drinks like your standard vanilla latte to the Einspanners (Matcha, Hojicha, Coffee / regular) with the dollop of sweet cream. Their Einspanner is a lot more on the matcha heavy side, but gets really nice & creamy when mixed in with the whipped milk. Best way to describe it is a relatively bold umami flavor that blends well with the sweet milk cream. Would love to come back and try more of their drinks! Also saw they expanded and had savory options for food now #win

Yelp
I got an espresso. The shot had good layers, a smooth texture and bright flavors. I tasted fruity and floral notes with a citrusy finish. The shot was quite acidic but it didn't overwhelm the shot. Very well executed. 5/5 Would definitely come back for espresso.

Yelp
Wow, this place is always bustling. I recently got to visit Mind on a Saturday morning, and I was really satisfied with my visit. I ordered a flat white with whole milk, which was absolutely perfection. I don't like too much milk in my espresso drinks, so this was the perfect ratio for me. My boyfriend got the seasonal strawberry matcha einspanner with oat milk, which seems to be a drink many cafes are doing a take on. The strawberry flavor was strong--definitely a blended strawberry puree at the bottom. However, I felt that the strawberry flavor overpowered the matcha and simply felt like I was drinking strawberry milk. Not sure it was worth $9. I think Mind does coffee better than matcha, but I might be biased. Points for REAL drinkware and not to go cups for those dining in...almost no cafes do that anymore.

Yelp
Mind Coffee opened 2 years ago, replacing an hair salon. Next door is an hair salon. Interior retrofitted to a modernistic style with many seat stations. One table outside. The hair salon roots can be inferred from the narrow width. Metered parking all around. Iffy parking on weekdays. Soft piano music in background. Came looking to try an Einspanner. Was referred to an espresso. Must be reading my mind. The lattes wouldn't have satisfied. Ordered. Pd, ready in 5 minutes. # called. # also displayed on monitor near pick up station. Einspanner originated in Vienna, Austria in the 19th Century. Named after a one horse carriage whose owners occupants drank while traveling. -the heavy whipped cream prevented the hot coffee from spilling and keeping it warm. *German is the official language of Austria. Offerings: summer concept drinks, coffee, latte, matcha, teas, Einspanner drinks, food, pastries, arteao tea. Sips: Einspanner espresso (6.75) -came in an oversized, semi-tall, thick shot glass with 2 shots espresso, nearly overflowing with Heavy house made whipping cream. -stirred everything together. Satisfying sweet cream blended with bold coffee notes. Sehr gut! (Very good!) 5 stars Worthy! Quality: excellent- best ingredients utilized, house made whipped cream. Quantity: Reasonable.
google avatar

Rachel L.

Yelp
Summer Concept Drinks were sooooo creatively made and presented. Im still in awe. Not a coffee drinker so my rating for those are unfair, but I really liked the matcha drinks, specifically the Peach Matcha Frizz with Yuzu Cold Foam. I haven't really enjoyed matcha with carbonated variations until I tried this drink. The double strawberry matcha was super creamy and the strawberry foam didn't taste artificial at all. Tasted like real strawberries! My favorite drink of all had to be the hojicha with house cream. GET THAT. Pastries were all okay. Coffee was potent and fragrant. Made me wish I liked the taste of coffee. The interior is quaint but sleek. Service was superb and I really liked the window seat. Overall, would def return when I'm in Berkeley again :)

Yelp
Located on the outskirt of the UC Berkeley campus, this cafe is easily accessible by bus and walking. Its not a very well ventilated cafe so it was a bit stuffy when I visited today. I ordered their seasonal double strawberry matcha and the matcha mindspanner. Their strawberry really let me down. It was incredibly tart and sour, I couldnt taste any sweetness at all. I couldnt drink it and ended up tossing it. The strawberry puree must have been the reason it was so sour. I really enjoyed the matcha mindspanner, it was delicious! It was perfectly sweet and deliciously creamy. It's definitely a drink I will crave. This matcha is on the sweeter side, so adjust the sweetness if you prefer your drinks to be less sweet. It has a slight bitterness to it which was a nice balance to the earthy notes. I also really love how alternative milks were no extra charge. I will definitely come back on a cooler day to sit in the cafe.

Yelp
Stopped by since we were in the area. Parking could be a bit difficult since it's all street parking, but we got really lucky. The interior was very aesthetic and I liked how there were different types of seats and it seemed like a great place to do work. There was a kiosk for ordering, but you could also order on snackpass if you have the app. I got a hojicha einspanner and got my drink pretty fast. The cream was yummy!

Yelp
This place is so magical! It's a narrow little shop, with stone shaped cushions and elaborate drinks. As a non-native to the Bay Area, I normally grit my teeth at paying so much for a coffee, but considering that each one is a little work of art--it's totally worth the splurge. The workers were kind, the ambiance offered a calm getaway, and it's really close to the UC Berkeley campus.
google avatar

Sierra L.

Yelp
When a coffee shop smells good, you would know their coffee is good. The shop is so cute for studying, dates or hanging out. I love my matcha latte $8.

Yelp
Mind Coffee is, without question, my favorite cafe. I've visited countless times (truly my home away from home) and still find so inspiring. They have such an innovative approach to coffee and tea, each bevy is thoughtfully crafted and is set apart from the rest of the coffee scene. The owner, Viviana, and her staff are incredibly welcoming, kind, and passionate. Always happy to see them while I'm here. The ambiance is cozy, intimate, and modern. The space is pretty limited, I get there early to score one of the tables, but there's also floor cushion seating which is always fun. Parking nearby can be tricky... I recommend using ParkMobile or parking a short walk away in the surrounding 2-hour zones for a smoother experience. I'm proud to be a regular and have tried most (if not all) of their drinks. I absolutely love their current summer lineup: - Strawberry Matcha Mindspanner (my absolute favorite, and made with strawberries from the farmers market!) - Pineapple Coconut Cold Brew - Yuzu Peach Matcha Frizz (I've never had anything like this. absolutely incredible) - Earl Grey Cloud layered over cold brew You neeeeed to try their Einspanners with housemade cream and cold foam, they're also incredibly photogenic! Their Hojicha is so rich and nutty, also a fave, and their pourovers are a really unique, nuanced coffee experience. **Also, milk options are whole, 2%, almond, oat, soy. It's a cafe that's as much about connection as it is about exceptional beverages. Mind Coffee is unmatched.

Yelp
Wish we had this coffee shop in San Francisco! It's hard to find einspanner drinks, so I was excited to finally try this place. There was so many options so it was tough choose a drink, but I ended up getting both the matcha and hojicha einspanners. I was the told the matcha they used was high quality. The matcha einspanner had a delicious cream top and wasn't overly sweet, which I really enjoyed. The hojicha, on the other hand, was a bit too sweet for my taste. The shop itself is a cute, narrow space with moderate seating. The barista was friendly, and just a heads-up, paid street parking. I will definitely come back to try more drinks.
google avatar

Rick T.

Yelp
Cute looking coffee shop near campus. Einspanner was v good! Figured Id come back and use this 50% offer. Posted a story on my IG and Mind liked and replied "thx" to my story but then ghosted me when I asked how I could get the code. (Don't care much about the discount code, but if you're going to advertise it, follow through with it. It's the principle.)

Yelp
Delicious coffee shop in Berkeley. I love their matcha Einspannier, it's creamy, delicious, and hits the spot! Their store is pretty small, but there's some room studying/ doing work. Street parking is available, but can be difficult to find.
google avatar

Miranda D.

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop! Perfect for studying or catching up with friends. However there is limited seating so get there early to snag a spot or take your drink to go. Mind Coffee uses ceremonial grade matcha which made for a pretty mean matcha latte. Ordered one with oat milk and house crema and was shocked over how yummy it was. It was a bit on the sweeter side (maybe because of the crema?), so be mindful of that before ordering. They also have a selection of other interesting drinks like their orange blossom matcha latte that I may have to try next time. Overall, give this place a shot! Street parking only but definitely didn't have a problem with that. Went on a Saturday afternoon and there were tons of parking around.
google avatar

Justine D.

Yelp
A really cute spot (albeit packed with students) for a morning matcha. I tried an Oat Milk Matcha Latte at the recommended sweetness. Someone needs to explain why the iced version costs more??? Anyways, the matcha did taste okay - nothing super phenomenal. The matcha flavor was there and it wasn't overpowered by sweetness. I was expecting a little more matcha, but that is my personal preference. The interior was pretty nice - plenty of outlets along the wall, but none near the windows. I did like the seat cushion on ground vibes, and I feel like if there were fewer people, it would generally be a great place to get a calming day of work done.
google avatar

Karishma K.

Yelp
Really great coffee spot next UC Berkeley that I will not stop recommending. Staff is really talented and the owner is really kind and passionate. I tried their summer drinks as well as their classics and everything was amazing. They also get their pastries from Starter Bakery! Will be back
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
Very cute and small cafe near campus! Nice staff. I ended up ordering the matcha w/ crema which I thought was ok. The crema is very vanilla-y and I felt like it overpowered the matcha. Once it fully mixed in, I felt like my drink gave more of a matcha vanilla milkshake vibe. Would definitely like to just try the matcha, no crema next time.
google avatar

Kaitlyn L.

Yelp
I have come by a few times just to pick up via Snackpass, but I have yet to study inside. Inside is super cute with floor/cushion seats and a few outside tables, but it's on a slant so I would not (lol). I alter between: Iced Ceremonial Matcha Latte w/ whole milk and house crema: 4.5/5 Definitely a good matcha in the area! I can taste it and the house crema bumps it up a notch. Iced Hojicha Latte with soy milk and house crema: 5/5 My go-to drink here, I get it more than the matcha. House crema must have with it!
google avatar

Denis A.

Yelp
We stopped by on one of those beautiful cold and cloudy Californian summer afternoon after seeing the café mentioned in the SF Chronicle. We were curious to try their Einspänner. We selected the espresso Einspänner and it clame out as the perfect drink: 2 shot of espresso topped with a dollop of slightly sweetened cream, small, so as not feel overstuffed afterward, the coffee light bitterness balancing the cream. The shop has a pleasant modern vibe, with a cool grey and white palette, with student working on their laptops. Be ready though to sit on cushions on the floor.
google avatar

Kate X.

Yelp
I got the hojicha einspanner to go. It was pretty small given the price, but the latte itself was pretty good, though the whipped cream on top felt slightly heavy. The atmosphere of this cafe is super nice and good for working.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop located on the quieter side of the UC Berkeley campus -- the decor is very cute and minimal, offering a good amount of seating options. I came specifically to try their strawberry matcha, it was yummy, but at the same time it felt like something was missing - maybe a sweetener since the strawberry puree didn't provide much flavor. However, the matcha seems to be good quality as it was a rich green.
google avatar

Maya V.

Yelp
Small cafe in Berkeley with a beautiful, minimalist, modern interior. Finals week is this week, and I needed somewhere with ample seating, outlets, free WiFi, and a calm vibe. Mind Coffee delivered on everything I needed! It also helps that many other college students were studying or working when I came around 6pm. I also like that they're open late (10pm) compared to other cafes in the area. I ordered the inner peace tea which comes in a small glass carafe. Very calming and I liked the inclusion of kava root! Would definitely come back. (:
google avatar

Robert L.

Yelp
Cute spot on the north side. Seating is plentiful but low seat style. Matcha was decent but nothing too crazy. Fast service as well.
google avatar

Ethan N.

Yelp
In spite of its terrible parking situation and very limited seating availability, Mind is one of the more popular study spots in the area. Definitely consider walking or taking public transit, and if you do decide to drive, know that the meter maids here are particularly active - one visit I saw 3 cars around me get ticketed in a two hour time span. There are only 4 regular tables, with the rest of the seating options being firm beanbags and knee-high surfaces. Mind has some of the closest interior decor I've seen to some of my favorite coffee shops in LA - a clean, bright aesthetic that showcases their process. Staff are lovely and willing to answer any questions, and although drinks do take a little longer to come out they're worth the wait. Cardamom Matcha Mindspanner: a personalized seasonal recommendation from one of their baristas. Matcha and cardamom taste were evenly matched and perfectly sweet - the matcha in particular tasted fairly high quality. Whipped cream was fantastic and very spoonable. Hojicha Mindspanner: wanted to see how they would do one of my favorite flavors and Mind did not disappoint. Flavor was authentic and not overwhelming. See above for notes on cream. Will be back!
google avatar

Paloma J.

Yelp
Super calming ambience perfect for studying! I really enjoyed my almond milk cappuccino and I appreciated the foam art :)

Yelp
This spot has a lot going for it, but let's get into the details. First impressions: The place is clean, calm, and clearly taken care of--the restroom especially was spotless, which always earns points. However, it took us a minute to find the entrance since it's tucked next to a hair salon, and the signage isn't super obvious until you're right at the door. A little more visibility would go a long way. Also worth noting: the cashier station had a strong cumin-like smell. Not a total dealbreaker, but kind of threw off the initial vibe. What we ordered: * Hot Ceremonial Matcha Latte (no sweetener) * Iced Ceremonial Matcha Latte with honey Both made with organic whole milk. The matcha itself is smooth, premium, and creamy--definitely high-quality. Drinks are self-serve and customizable, which we loved. That said, would recommend asking for an extra shot of matcha if you want a stronger flavor. The base version was smooth and good as well and lighter on the matcha. Also... we were charged 50 cents for ice. Not a huge deal, but it felt a little unnecessary, especially for a place that otherwise feels so thoughtful. Hours: * Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM * Saturday-Sunday: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Overall, this is a cozy, well-kept spot that feels like a hidden gem (literally). With a couple of small tweaks--stronger matcha, clearer signage--it could easily be a 5-star go-to. Would definitely return for a calm, no-fuss matcha moment.
google avatar

Elaine Y.

Yelp
Honestly not impressed . Ordered the Iced Dirty Matcha Latte + Orange Blossom drink . Both were pretty average, nothing special. The space is super tiny--most people were literally sitting on the floor ‍... not the most comfortable vibe. Cute idea but not for me. Won't be back .
google avatar

Lily F.

Yelp
The orange blossom coffee was life-changing. Seriously one of the best cups of coffee I've ever had in my life. It's also nice that they do with Dry if it's a warm coffee.
google avatar

Kristen N.

Yelp
good for what it is. this little aesthetic cafe is near the berkeley campus and had many students studying. It's very cute! a downside are parking.. you have to opt to street parking unless you're walking from campus. as well as limited seating, ultimately making the cafe pretty small, it's tight in there waiting for your order to be called. i got the iced matcha w/ crema and iced hojicha w/ crema (mind you they charge .50 for iced). the drinks were pretty regardless but it didn't make up for the taste. i typically have a preference of a stronger matcha taste and a thicker texture so the drinks didn't WOW me as much. if you're looking for a light taste i do recommend this place for starters.
google avatar

Sanjeet S.

Yelp
Would probably rate closer to 3.5-3.7. Do think prices are pretty steep. Have only tried a normal iced matcha latte with soy milk and orange blossom matcha latte with soy milk. Matcha latte with soy milk didn't taste very strong at all. Only tasted the milk, not much of the actual matcha, but could just have been made wrong on accident. Very different experience with the orange blossom matcha. Perfectly sweetened and had more balance. Could taste the matcha and blended well with the orange flavor.
google avatar

Daniel B.

Yelp
I was recommended here from a friend. The spit is really cozy and cute, very aesthetic. All the seating areas were filled, with studying students. I got a matcha latte. The matcha tasted authentic and was prepared well. I got the normal sweetness (which was not sweet) and enjoyed it. The balance of the sweet cream was great with the matcha. It was overall good. The wait was about 15 minutes. Be prepared to wait a bit as it is a busy spot.
google avatar

Jocelyn S.

Yelp
I stopped by for a to try the hojicha einspaner which was really good! I've never had an einspaner before and it seemed like a latte with luscious dollops of whip cream. Super pretty drink! The cafe is narrow with some seating and outlets. They have Snackpass so you can order ahead. Although I need to comment on how there was no AC on a super hot summer day.
google avatar

Meriya S.

Yelp
The matcha drinks here are amazing! Just a heads up, though--the seating is pretty limited since the café is quite small.
google avatar

Sherry Z.

Yelp
Solid coffee shop near campus. It is small so unless you're there early and camp out, you're not likely to find a spot to do work. Also some of their spots are little cushions on the ground and not the most comfortable for spending more than 5 minutes there. You order at a little kiosk near the counter. Straightforward and no problems. I got a regular latte and a twice baked hazelnut chocolate croissant. Decent latte, was pricey but about average for Berkeley. The croissant while amazingly delicious was incredibly rich. Maybe share it with a friend and definitely have something caffeinated to cut through the richness. Give it a shot! But maybe take it to go and find somewhere else to work.

Yelp
In LOVE with Mind Coffee. Its minimalist aesthetic with its relaxing, mental health-forward atmosphere makes every trip to this cafe all the more worth it. It's no shock that the place is always bustling with satisfied customers. Today I tried a new combination made by one of their very talented baristas, Nora. She made me an iced latte with their seasonal earl grey cold foam and it was to die for. Mind Coffee is a must-try!! I especially recommend their house crema, which compliments their coffee and tea-based lattes perfectly.
google avatar

Jaimee Rose A.

Yelp
cute little cafe in the berkeley area. very limited seating but if you do grab a spot people sometimes stay and study here. the service is fairly quick. you order at a kiosk and they'll call your name when your drinks are ready. i liked the matcha and coffee here so i would definitely recommend you give it a try!
google avatar

Maddie W.

Yelp
Super cute space and very aesthetic I've tried their hojicha, orange blossom latte, and mindspanner (bigger einspanner). Loved the hojicha and minspanner! Employees are friendly too Interior is so cute and prices are reasonable.
google avatar

Meagan G.

Yelp
honestly the matcha was good but nothing stood out to me. it was in a small cup and nothing gave the wow factor other than it looked pretty! i think the matcha was pretty watery in my opinion. the ambience was really cool! just wished there was more seating. the service was great. took less than 10 min to get my matcha!
google avatar

Pedro M.

Yelp
The atmosphere and ambience of mind coffee is amazing, genuinely one of the most unique places for coffee I've been to. However the coffee and matcha itself are okay for a very high price which really bogs down this cool spot. If it was cheaper for the given quality or better for the current price I would give this 4, but right now it is just okay
google avatar

Yelp
I didn't believe that a self-proclaimed coffee shop could make the best matcha in Berkeley (RIP Three Tea Bowls pop-up) but I was proven wrong over and over again by Mind Coffee. The matcha here is unreasonably good and fills the void that Three Tea Bowls left behind. Asha Tea House is no competition. When I visit Berkeley, I make a point to come here every time just for their matcha lattes. I have always ordered on Snackpass and grabbed my drink to go, but you are able to place orders in-person. It appears that most people order in advance on Snackpass though, so you may have less of a wait if you do so as well. There isn't much space inside so you may end up having to wait in a tight corner or out on the sidewalk if you place an order in-person. There is a good amount of seating on various bean bags in the cafe. However, every time I have stepped inside, every single seat has been occupied by people studying and working. It seems like you have to arrive early or get lucky if you plan to sit and sip. The interior has always been remarkably clean, especially given how white every surface is. I highly recommend checking out Mind Coffee if you're in Berkeley. They're right next to campus on northside so you can stroll around campus or up to the rose garden with a delicious drink in hand.
google avatar

Emmeline W.

Yelp
Very modern, airy look. May be more comfortable for those shorter than 5'5" as the seat plushies left very little space to stretch my legs out-- but I appreciate the Japandi-esque design and creativity. LET YOUR BARISTA CHOOSE: I LOVE that they have this option! Yay for solutions to decision paralysis :D I answered a few questions about sweetness, milk options, etc., and my drink came out. No details given (surprise!) but it tasted like a coffee latte with dates, cinnamon, and some other spices. PSL-adjacent but less sweet! Glad I got to try a new drink :-) Soooooo their einspanner drinks were sold out when we got here ;_; Will have to come back another time! NOTE: FOR STREET PARKING, MAKE SURE TO PAY AT THE METER OR ONLINE. AND ADD MORE TIME IF NEEDED. We saw 4 cars get ticketed in a row...

Yelp
Aesthetic café in Berkeley - came here with a friend because of the interior we both thought looked interesting. We walked from the bottom of the campus which was on a slight incline. The café front has a bench in the front and is long and narrow upon walking inside. The pictures of the interior looked just like how it did in real life. All of the areas to sit were taken when we arrived and there was a small line formed at the front where you place your order. To place your order, browse the monitor screen and pay. I am beginning to like this way of ordering more and more since we usually get to see the images of the items on the screen with a little description and its pricing up close and I don't feel AS rushed to make a decision - however, it does take away from me being able to ask the staff what they'd recommend, etc. The area after you order to stand -- wasn't too sure where to do that, lol. It felt cramped or like I was in other people's way. The wait didn't seem too long - there was this cool little spinner / art thing I was distracted by that made the time go by. Iced Dirty Matcha Latte - not bad, not super memorable for me to want to go out of my way to go back just for that. Their Hojicha Latte sounded interesting and would try that next. Cute spot if you're in the area or are a student who wants to study or read or catch up with a 1-2 friends (the place is tiny so I wouldn't really recommend it unless you're one of the first there). Aesthetically pleased and good tasting drinks!

Yelp
my go-to matcha spot in berkeley! the matcha is clearly high-quality & i appreciate that they don't charge extra for alternative milk! the space itself is not the biggest, so you'll have to go early to grab a table though

Yelp
after a great visit to berkeley, we stopped at a cafe before leaving to home. i really wanted to try an einspanner from here! the matcha was good, but in my experience, it was a little expensive and not super memorable. the inside is pretty small, i'm not sure i would recommend hanging out in here. but it was cute and minimalist. they had kiosks to order from and it was pretty quick.

Yelp
Stopped by on my way to Indian Rock Park, very cute coffee shop, with cute floor pillow seats, lots of students there. The cashier/barista was welcoming they have a pad you can submit your order through but it kept glitching out, it was very delayed so we ended up ordering at the register. My friend enjoyed her matcha latte, I got an iced mocha & it was pretty decent. I'm not from the area so I can't say I'd be back but it was worth checking out since it was on my way to the park.

Yelp
Such a cute spot located next to UC Berkeley, it is a bit small so you really gotta look for it's shop. Inside you have tables set up for students to study or hang out. Upon entering, one of the employees, not sure if she was the owner or not, was so nice and friendly. We ordered the matcha einspanner, cardamon orange latte & dirty chai latte. My two faves were the matcha einspanner and cardamon orange latte. The matcha einspanner was creamy and had a good matcha flavor. I wish there was more tho. The cardamon orange latte was refreshing. I was surprised to find that this combo works well together, it's only seasonal Definitely another spot to try if you are a matcha/coffee lover

Yelp
Pretty good Hojicha Latte! I got this the recommended sweetness with their house crema. I was pretty satisfied! The crema was very creamy and complimented the hojicha well. It could have been a bit stronger, but overall I enjoyed the flavor of the hojicha. It had a nice roasted nuttiness to it. The inside of the cafe is very cozy, but the ordering area can become pretty cramped. A cool place to study and grab a drink though!
