Tons of variety of traditional Chinese dishes. I went during their lunchtime special. You get a choice of soup and egg roll with an entree. Very great value. I had the basil beef with white rice. The beef was tender and the veggies were cooked perfectly. The basil taste was very prominent and delicious. I also reccomend checking out their variety of drinks from milk teas to fruit smoothies. I went with the passion fruit mango smoothie. What I loved was that how smooth the texture was, often times the ice can be too granular, but not here! Definitely worth a stop in.

Another Asian place with great intentions and common execution for the common eater who is not particular about their Asian food. The service was good initially but never asked about water refills or anything else. The place is clean and they were quick to clear the table which made it nicer to sit a while longer to catch up. There wasn’t much of a crowd so we didn’t feel bad staying a bit longer. If they actually continued with follow-up service, we probably would have ordered dessert or at a least another fruit drink; oh well. Food: 3 Service: 3 Ambiance: 3 Solid place for the regular Jo/Joe, but not a repeat place for me. Still in search for another regular Asian place.

Google
This establishment received good reviews but I was disappointed with the experience. Service was good and ambiance was ok. Four of us dined at Ming Chef for lunch today at 1pm. We were the only customers in the establishment. Each of us had the lunch special. Both the Egg drop soup and Hot and Spicy soup were oily. I had two spoonfuls of the soup before pushing it aside. The egg rolls were small and greasy. The large portions of each of the main courses did not make up for the bland flavor. We will not be visiting this establishment again.

Google
Great Chinese and Asian food, Thai and Korean. Good portions and decent prices. Service is great, very attentive. Huge variety of smoothies and boba drinks. Large open space can be loud at times but not crushing. My wife found the Korean soup especially great and better than many Korean restaurants. See picture.

Came here for the lunch special and decided to try the Mongolian beef as well as the pork bao appetizer The Mongolian beef was solid and sense it came with soup and a egg roll the value as well as the quality of food was worth it. The bao on the other hand I didn't care for , the dough tasted a bit stale which didn't make sense due to it being made fresh and the filling didn't have the best texture and just tasted sweet. Overall I plan on coming back to try the peaking duck because a lot of restaurants don't have it ready to order. Customer service while friendly felt a bit overwhelming, I felt every 5 seconds my table was being asked to take my plate away but due to it being slow and the boss being there I can give that a pass.

Google
I’ll start with saying: service is EXCELLENT!!! Very friendly and quick service. We ordered Vietnamese vegetable fried rolls, orange chicken and garlic tofu with vegetables. My husband loved the orange chicken and said it was the best he had. The tofu garlic vegetable was very underwhelming. Lots of garlic and no other flavor. It seemed bland and I did not enjoy it. Prices are average. Space is clean and nice. Large menu of Chinese , Vietnamese and Thai food as well as bubble drinks. I saw they had some amazing waffle ice cream desserts, but didn’t try it this time.

Google
Service was great. Food was above average and very tasty. One of the few Asian restaurants where I went home not smelling like a greasy eggroll. The restaurant was very clean and nice.

Yelp
Quality of food, price and service really makes this place my go to. They hit the mark every single time. A few recommendations Fried lemon grass chicken is highly recommended Garlic snow pea tips are amazing Teriyaki chicken (hot stone pan option) is not really teriyaki we all are familiar with, it's something much better. I rarely leave comments but this place is a gem

Yelp
This is my favorite Asian restaurant. I recommend the stone bowl, they bring it out to you in the stone bowl and be careful cause it's hot! Bowl actually makes rice crispy after it's brought out to the table. Never had seen this dish before! Service was attentive and friendly.. refilled my water very fast. I liked how the duck was hanging on display! So cool!

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on a weekday right when they opened. There weren't many customers so service and food preparation was speedy. At noon, dine-in and carry-out customers started to roll in steadily. Their lunch specials are moderately priced and portions are decent. Overall good casual environment, good food and dining room is clean.

Yelp
This the my third time coming here to try out more dishes. Overall not bad but I can tell crispy food is not their specialty. Salt pepper fish - it isn't very crispy or well seasoned. I didn't taste any jalapeño and the fish was a bit soggy. Salt pepper pork chop- same as salt pepper fish. Not very crispy or well seasoned. It was cooked well and the meat wasn't dry but it isn't anything special. Tofu dish- it is ok, just not my preferred taste for tofu. Hou fun- cooked very well. They give tons of meat and noodle. It also isn't too oily. Lobster- it's not bad but it could have been stir fried in the wok for longer. I didn't taste any of the Wok Hei taste you get from traditional Cantonese lobster dishes. Quantity, atmosphere, and service here is good. The servers are pretty fast.

Yelp
Went here after church for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. I had beef and vegetables while my husband had a whole Tilapia, pricing was fair and customer service was excellent. I loved the milk tea and boba, it was so yummy. The restaurant didn't have a lot of people when we were there which I really liked because it gave us space and intimacy as we don't go on dates frequently and so when we do go, we love to spend time together and not scream to hear each other out if you get what I mean. Highly recommend! Go on a Sunday afternoon at 2!

Yelp
We have been coming here for lunch for a while now and we love it. The menu certainly has many good options to choose from and they also have a nice lunch special selection. The place has a nice ambiance inside and also has outdoor seating. There are many bubble tea options as well

Yelp
The food and the service are always solid when we come here. We've started coming here a few months back as an extended family and never been disappointed Thank you

Yelp
If I could, I'd give this place 0 stars. We came here on Christmas for dinner. I understand how hectic this day for Chinese restaurants can be, but they should've been prepared in advance. We were first greeted by the frustrated and panicked owner. She was visibly annoyed by our presence as she seated us. Our orders were taken promptly by the waitress, but we only received half of the meals we ordered. It took an hour and a half to receive the tasteless, bland, freezer burned food that tasted like it was microwaved. I lived in Southeastern Asia for many years, so I know what authentic Chinese cuisine tastes like and it's not this. The other downside was that we heard shouting coming from the kitchen. There was a line out the door for to go orders, and customers were being shouted at as they received their to go orders. This restaurant seems like it came straight out of an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.

Yelp
We came here after recommendations from fellow Yelpers and we enjoyed our weekday evening dinner here! They were open until 9:30pm, which worked out great since we got there around 8:00pm. There was still ample groups in there dining, so it was nice to see other people around eating a later dinner like we did. The restaurant is very big, so there is plenty of seating. I would say it's really good for groups. The menu is also very big, so it can be daunting. We went with the strategy of picking one noodle dish and one rice dish. We ordered the Vietnamese Fried Pork Egg Rolls. These were pretty decent. I don't think there was anything too special about them though. The Pad Kee Mao was amazing. We got it with tofu, which I probably wouldn't necessarily do again since the tofu was dry, but the rest of the vegetables in it were really good. I loved the slight bit of charred crunch to the wide rice noodles. I bet the other chow fun dishes would be really tasty too. As an aside, I didn't love that our server gave me a bit of sass when I asked for Pad Kee Mao to be spicy because it "is always spicy". We also got the Korean Spicy Pork Fried Stone Bowl Rice. It was fine. I guess I was expecting more of a bibimbap situation, but it was mostly just pork, onions, and an egg over rice. The stone bowl was nice, but not the same caliber as the ones from Korean restaurants, where the rice actually crisps up. There's a vast bubble tea and smoothies selection, which we didn't partake in, but would definitely consider for next time!

Yelp
This place has all the Chinese eats we want. Food was decent. They have a parking lot which makes it easy to eat here. The service was quick - they took our order quickly and brought food out. They have a lot of boba/smoothie drinks which my kids loved. Decent wonton noodle soup which we ordered. The noodles wasn't what I expected for the wonton chicken noodle soup but it was still tasty. Our family had a decent time here. We were one of the two tables here so it was quite empty for a Black Friday afternoon lunch.

Yelp
Ming Chef Asian Cuisine was an awesome find on a busy street. My husband and I were greeted and led to our table right away. The server was very attentive and we got our waters right away. There is a very extensive menu. It can take you a while to find something to eat if you don't know what you're looking for. We ordered the French beef cube stone bowl rice and the barbecue pork and wonton noodles soup. the beef cubes were delicious and the sauce that covered them was sweet and spicy. The stone bowl did a great job of keeping the food hot. After twenty minutes the food was still hot and had to be cooled before it could be eaten. The dish came with kimchee. I cannot eat spicy food and this was not clear from the description on the menu. The wonton soup had a great chicken broth and was loaded with wontons. I counted six wontons. There was a very healthy helping of noodles in the soup. The barbecue pork was tender and fatty, just the way I like it.. This was plenty of food to fill us up. I very highly recommend Ming Chef Asian Cuisine. The food was fantastic as was the service. I will be back to try more dishes when I'm in the area.

Yelp
I like this place. Their serving method is interesting, we had a different staff member each time something was served to us lol The food was solid, nothing special but it's good. The restaurant is open and comfortable in here, I like it. Very big portions with the noodles.

Yelp
This building is quite nice, large, and clean. I picked up some takeout for the family and purchased quite a few items from their online menu. The online menu was very easy to access and purchase through. The Vietnamese spring rolls were packed tight with a thick and delicious peanut sauce. It's been a while since I've had a great Vietnamese spring roll, and now I have a favorite, thanks to Ming Chef. We ordered three entrees and a fried rice for four people, which will be meals for another day or two. The Mongolian Beef felt like you were eating a steak. The Orange Chicken wasn't too sweet, but enough to keep your mouth watering. The Hunan Chicken had enough peanuts and protein to keep you full, not full of sauce, but not dry either. The Veggie Fried rice was lightly sauced, not full of salt, but packed with veggies. We really enjoyed this restaurant. We have been struggling to find decent Chinese food in the area, and we finally found it with Ming Chef. I definitely suggest ordering from here, whether it's dining in or taking out.

Yelp
This place is new and clean, the service is very good and fast, and the beers come with an icy, frosty glass mug (yum!) I started with shrimp tempura. The shrimp were fine, but the batter wasn't fully cooked. Damp tempura. The dipping sauce was excellent. My main was the spicy beef and green beans. This was good, not overly sauced or salty. The problem was the rice. The rice! Overcooked and mushy. In my humble opinion, this place is a gem in the making. The employees were on the hustle and I'm surprised the tempura and rice slipped by. Maybe a little more time and this place will be rocking?

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise to find delicious Pan Asian cuisine with plenty of parking near downtown Elmhurst. This restaurant also features plenty of items presented nicely with large portions in a large sized building but with reasonable prices and friendly service. This reminds me of places like Joy Yee's and Wonton Gourmet, with a similar quality of cooking to match. On this visit, I had the chance to try two items. The Beef Cube Fried Egg Stone Bowl Rice was a good mix of lots of different flavors. The beef cubes were cooked very tender with a good dose of sweetness and strong pepper flavor at the same time. This matched quite well with the kimchee which was bright and spicy at the same time. Combined together, it created a nice umami and complex layer of flavors. I also liked how the rice was nice and fluffy, showing some extra care to prepare different types of rice for different dishes. The BBQ Pork Wonton Noodle Soup was pretty good as well, the noodles were cooked to be just slightly firm in a fairly flavorful chicken broth with plenty of green onion. The char siu was a little on the fattier side which I enjoy and cut in a slightly thicker portion that's closer to what you'll find in ramen. While the wonton had a nice silky wrapping and had a good amount of meat filling, it was a little underseasoned for me (maybe would have been nice with some red vinegar). This wasn't enough to detract away from the overall dish however. Overall, this is a good pan-asian option if you're in Elmhurst and would like to try some more unique items in a spacious restaurant with reasonable prices and large portions.

Yelp
The crispy duck and pad Thai noodle were delicious. Service was very good. The owner stopped at our table and greeted us. This was our first time and will be back.

Yelp
My favorite place for Asian food. I love the seafood garlic noodles, combination fried rice , as well as chicken/ shrimp fried rice. The owner always remembers my son and I and the staff is always accommodating to our needs. You can also request extra spicy as needed ( I do ) and recently I tried the watermelon daiquiri which was amazing!! Crab Rangoons are flavorful and creamy and the fresh smoothies are a must!!!!! Never too noisy and a peaceful , clean atmosphere. They are cost effective as well .

Yelp
5/5 for local Asian cuisine! Best in the western suburbs. Always cleans and the variety is a plus. My family's favorites are: #312 Shrimp Pad Kee Mao made extra basil and extra spicy, 810d--shrimp fried rice, and the Vietnamese Fried Vegetable Rolls(4). The smoothie selection is also large my favorite is lychee coconuts with lychee jelly...great every-time! Delivery is SUPER fast! At your home in 30 minutes with sizzling hot food!

Yelp
Saw this when walking in the other day (See photo). Looks like some great options. I will try one next time I go in and share how good it was. But, please share how you liked it.

Yelp
Unfortunately, I can only give 3 stars, and 1 of those stars is because the driver was quick and also told me to order direct from restaurant because its a lot cheaper than GrubHub or other apps. and at $50 for 1 person that would be good to know. I got the Mongolian Beef it tasted good, but meat was way too soft overcooked so there was really nothing left of it too taste. and very few piece (Esp for the price) second was the chicken fried rice, honestly how do you screw up this main stay dish? It was like the chicken was boiled, they took the boiled chicken directly from boiling water to the rice with some water included, it was watery with little to no taste, I picked up a piece of chicken by itself and thought it was tofu, no joking I really did, I'm still not totally convinced its not. The chicken is white and has NO flavor. The Good, the Korean veg dumplings were delicious and there were 10 of them.

Yelp
This is a solid pan Asian restaurant. In the area, it's probably the best option for non-Japanese cuisine. Top 3 re-ordered items 1. BBQ pork fried rice - ask for extra seasoning 2. Chicken teriyaki - surprised by this 3. Wonton soup - comfort Honorable mention - Korean beef ribs and mapo tofu are solid choices. The staff are very friendly as well.

Yelp
Would give 0 starts if possible. Another person and I ate here last night and got VERY SICK from the food. we got boba tea as well and ordered brown sugar boba and they put chocolate syrup in the drink instead of the brown sugar. Disappointing but we were get over it and even try another flavor next time. I called the restaurant to let them know we got sick from the food. Whoever was on the phone said "oh whenever this happens" we ask the person to go to the hospital and get a test done and we will cover it if it turns out to be from our food. It sounds like this is a common occurrence here at this restaurant. I've worked in the industry before and never heard this. I told them I will not be going to the hospital and just wanted a refund. They did not resolve the issue.

Yelp
They have a massive variety of various kinds of Asian cuisine on their menu. The food came out incredibly fast and was quite delicious.

Yelp
Wonderful meal. Enjoyed the Basil Chicken; it was the best I ever had with all fresh ingredients. Clean, modern place with excellent service and extensive menu. Highly recommend. I'll definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Appetizers were good. Love Crab Ran. Love Vietnamese egg roll. Vietnamese spring roll was good Dinner's we had 5 adults good size and everyone liked there food. Nothing crazy sesame and orange chicken. I had beef and eel. Eel soso. What has me the most upset is my daughter grabbed the bill and we were all chatting. Did not see they added 18% service fee for 5 people. Cmon. Bullcrap. Did see it til I got home. My bad yes. My mistake. Feel cheated. No where did I see that mentioned. Only feel cheated because I over tipped. If you go beware. I said something to a table that just got there bill and they didnt see it either and thanked me.

Yelp
Lesley and I came here after the Yelp event at Brewpoint Craft, it was a short drive around the corner, and Sherwin spoke highly of him and Ryan's dinner here. We decided to come here since we needed something more than a cupcake and drinks. I'm always down for Asian food, and it was everything Sherwin described and more. I'm so picky though because I've been spoiled by my dad's cooking, and this place is spot on. They have everything you can imagine, whether it's Korean, Thai, Chinese, etc they got you. Lesley ordered the beef cube fried egg stone rice bowl that comes with kimchi, I did a bowl of special beef pho and asked them to take out the beef balls, we shared the salt and pepper Japanese tofu, and half of a roasted duck. It was plenty of food for us with leftovers. She ordered a pineapple green tea, and I ordered their milk tea with custard pudding and added tapioca. They close at 9:30, and we managed to get here around 8pm, so it gave us time to catch up and to enjoy our meals fresh out of the kitchen. The staff was attentive and friendly. The kitchen is also quick and accurate. The portions and price is decent, and it was delicious. I'll definitely come back if I'm ever in Elmhurst. They also have plenty of free parking on premise in front of and the back of the restaurant. They also have space for outdoor dining when weather permits. The staff also gave us cartons of white rice to go, which is appreciated. My only slight issues is that they close early -- I'm so used to restaurants being open until 10 or 11, and they also started mopping around 9pm and smells like lemon zesty Clorox which makes me happy that they take cleaning seriously, but also made it seem like they're really for us to go. I honestly don't blame them because when I worked at retail, I'm ready to go home, and it's not a huge dealbreaker for me. Other than that, it was a great experience, and thank you Sherwin for the recommendation. It's better than Joy Yee that's for sure.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch on Saturday. They have an extensive menu including Korean, Thai, and Chinese dishes- at first this made me wonder if food would just be okay since the menu gives me Cheesecake Factory vibes. However, we were positively blown away though by everything we got- mango soft shell crab spring rolls, eel japchae, and scallop stone bowl rice. Food was fresh and flavorful; and portion sizes were generous. Hats off to the chef for mastering so many different styles. We will definitely be coming back! PS come in Mon-Fri for lunch specials for under $10 including soup and a spring roll!

Yelp
Delicious apps and entrees! The mai tai was also incredible. Nice space, cute wallpaper. Attentive staff and servers. Good portions of food.

Yelp
Undeniably the best Asian food I've had. Great place, clean and inviting, service was over the top.

Yelp
I was picking up an order and the service was terrible. The lady rudely asked what I was doing here. I told her I was here to pick up my order. She gave me the order & followed me outside to see what I was doing. Then she quickly turned her back heading into the restaurant the moment I looked back. Please do not come here if you are black man or black woman. They are very prejudice here!

Gloria W.

Yelp
Oh my, didn't really know what to expect from reading the menu, very impressive, huge varieties. Walking in staff was extremely friendly sat us at booth table. Brought over water and asked if we wanted tea as well. The tea was wonderful, light in aromatics. I knew that I wanted to try many items. Appetizers were the Asian dumplings so light and flavorful. I ordered the Peking Duck with buns, and rice. Portions were ample, the duck roasted to perfection, with some separate for the making of the buns with scallops and cucumber with a infectious sauce. The manager kept coming over to see if everything was satisfactory..but of course it was!! I also tried the very fresh and clean mango/ dragonfruit smoothie. It was refreshing and delicious with every sip. I have found a NEW home for fresh, healthy perfectly prepared meals..with Asian hospitality.

Yelp
We went for lunch. Large menu with many interesting choices. Food was delicious. Large portions. Excellent service.

Yelp
This is a new Asian restaurant in my area. We ordered takeout twice at this restaurant so far. It is located in downtown Elmhurst and has plenty of parking as a stand-alone building. They have indoor and outdoor dining which is nice. They have a large menu of assorted drinks and smoothies. They also have a large menu of food as well. Such as Chinese, cantonese,Vietnamese, Korean dishes. It reminds me of a another Chinese restaurant which is famous for their fresh made smoothies and food options called Joy Yee in Chinatown. However this is a new restaurant it does have potential to be a comparison of Joy Yee. The food still needs some improvement of the ones we have chosen. But there's other items off the menu that I would like to try still so I may change my ratings especially if they take my review as feedback to improve their food that we have already tried. I'm such a foodie and I'm picky of certain dishes that I order at certain Asian restaurants so here is what we ordered in my takeout experience of this new establishment. Avocado freeze with tapioca- I like the avocado freeze, but the tapioca needs to be cooked a little longer to be softer not so chewy. And they need to be smaller size to drink through their straws or buy wider straws as we were having a hard time drinking our smoothies with boba in fear the tapioca pearls might shoot into our throat while sucking through the straw. Fried softshell crab appetizer- I like this appetizer the crab was a nice size and well seasoned and the batter wasn't too thick. I would get this again. Fresh spring roll softshell crab with mango- The spring roll was good with the crab and the mango was soft and sweet. It was good but I'd like to try the other spring rolls with other ingredients in it. Sesame seed chicken- The chicken was thick chunks lightly battered crispy with a nice sweet sauce taste. Hubby like this very much in comparing to other dishes from other Asian restaurants we tried. he would definitely get this again. Beef chow fun- The take-out order they separated the noodles from the beef chow of our takeout. The noodles were not crispy as we requested. The beef chow was mostly vegetables and some beef slices. Was hoping it would only be the sauce and beef slices like in Chinatown. The flavor was good and if you don't mind a mixture of beef and vegetables then this is a good dish. Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce- this was a good dish the broccoli was not over cooked and the sauce had a good garlic flavor. I would get this again. Cauliflower and broccoli garlic sauce- we liked this dish it was well seasoned and the cauliflower and broccoli were fresh and not over cooked we would get this dish again. Salt and pepper smelt - The dish was pretty good well seasoned slightly crispy and chewy fish. So we asked for extra crispy but it wasn't as crispy as we hoped for as takeout. We've ordered takeout extra crispy smelt at other Chinese restaurants that we go to and we like that style like Golden Bowl in Westmont. Japanese tofu with two mushrooms- this dish was OK was expecting the Japanese tofu with the sauce. Did not care for the two mushrooms of this dish it was a bit tangy or maybe the mushrooms were a bit older. I don't think we would order this again unless we can ask to minus the mushrooms as we like the sauce and Fried Japanese tofu. Salt and pepper pork chops- I like this dish it has good seasoning also a bit sweet taste to it maybe they add sugar? I would ask for extra crispy next time. Overall not a bad experience. I do want to try other items off the menu that sounds good. Hope they'll improve their Boba size and texture and we will come back here again cause they are closer to us than Chinatown lol!

Yelp
We went to this place at 12:10pm on Sunday. Their opening was at noon. Not crowded, we got a table, water, menus right away. Our waitress came and gave us some recommendations. Good start! Our orders: Ginger milk bubble tea w tapioca Vietnamese pork egg roll Baked rice with japanese teriyaki beef Korean shrimp jap chae Malaysian spicy string beans Drink: Ginger milk bubble tea w tapioca - 2 stars / 5 stars We don't really like the "sticky" texture of sugar syrup they put in the drink. I thought ginger flavor was nice and strong, but a little too invading to go with meals. Appetizer: Vietnamese pork egg roll - 4 stars / 5 Nothing wrong with flavor, not bad, not great. But I loved the texture of the fried skin. It was nice and thin and for a great crisp, very easy to eat with crunch sounds after every bite! Rice: Baked rice with japanese teriyaki beef 5 stars / 5 Absolutely loved it. And I think this is one of the item everyone should order for the first try. When it was served, it already looked exciting. Smell was great, and Smokey flavor was so good. I would try this again, or other "baked rice" menus (maybe Malaysian one) and it's worth coming back for this item. Portion is big enough for a couple, so if you don't wanna spend too much, I think this is the one to go for. Noodle & seafood Korean shrimp jap chae 3.5 stars / 5 Flavor was great. Shrimp was juicy and soft. But one big minus for me was "gap of temperature". Noodle was nice and hot, but shrimp was lukewarm. Clearly they were cooked separately but after they tossed them together, they were not heated enough. Vegetable Malaysian spicy string beans 4 stars / 5 First impression, I thought it got a pretty weak taste. But I was wrong! More you eat, more flavor piles up. And it ended up "addictive". Very good vegetarian dish. Not super spicy, even my stomach is weak to spices, I could enjoy this one. I think this would an opener for party occasion. My rate as total was 4.5 stars out of 5. Definitely go back for other menus, and baked rice menus are my favorite. Below are some negatives from my point of view. But they are still "soft opening". So I believe they can easily fix it before full opening. 1. Toilet Even though we went there 10 mins after opening, urinal was pretty dirty. Not hand sanitizer and no paper towel. Clearly nobody checked it last night or before opening. 2. Smile I am Japanese, and I understand "asian shyness" attitude. But a few frowning faced guys near the entrance were a little intimidating before the meal. 3. Employees communication We got a waitress and a waiter coming back and asked the same questions several times, like drink order, appetizer orders, are you guys ready.... etc. probably better communicate a little more to each other before asking customers. But again after "soft opening" time, I am sure it will get better.

This food is simply outstanding. The teriyaki chicken and bbq pork fried rice will change your life. The cooking is perfect and food is fresh. The staff are also very accommodating and sweet. This isn't just outstanding Asian food. It's some of the best food I've eaten hands down. Try this NOW!

Yelp
This is one of our favorites for a family dinner! There is something for everyone! Spicy if you want, mild if you prefer. Bubble teas. Huge portions! If we order for dinner, we'll have extras for lunch or dinner the following day! My kids love the fried rice and sesame chicken. Seriously. Give them a try! And, during the warmer months there is a huge amount of outdoor seating which is a rarity for Asian food restaurants.

Yelp
A huge menu and pretty solid food makes Ming Chef a worthy stop. I ordered the sesame chicken and thought the portions were very generous. The sauce was thick and sweet. The white rice they included was awesomely sticky - perfect for inclusion in your meal. I do wish they'd provide the option for brown rice. I grabbed pickup, so I can't speak to the dine-in experience, but carryout was efficient and the adjoining parking lot makes it easy to get in and out. It's not the best Chinese place I've ever eaten, but it's solid and it should hit the spot if that's what you're craving. I'll be back!

Yelp
Delicious! I stopped in after picking up paint next door because the food smelled so good. I had the beef cubes rice with tomato as recommended by Yelp and the staff. It was super good with a sweet tangy teriyaki sauce over egg fried rice and sliced tomatoes. I would definitely eat here again. The apparently specialize in pan asian bbq and bibimbap too :)

Yelp
I tried Ming Chef on a Wednesday night for dinner. The food was good and the service was quick and easy. The lady at the front desk was very helpful & made sure I got the most bang for my buck! I ordered the shrimp Lo mein & I asked for it to be spicy and that it was! They were a little stingy with the shrimp but that's normal . I also got the orange chicken, hot & sour soup & got a free order of crab Rangoon! (they have good coupons in their menu so make sure you take advantage of that.) Lastly I got a peach mango smoothie with lychee boba! The crab Rangoon was my favorite. It was creamy and had a lot of flavor. The crisp was just perfect. I enjoyed the orange chicken. I'm usually not one to get it but I liked it, it had a nice spice to it & no orange peels! They have an extensive menu! Many options to choose from. There is something for everyone. The service is quick and the food was fresh! Can't wait to try their other menu items.

Yelp
Really good fresh food. Great selection & variety. Ordered the beef cubes topped with eel & tomato rice. My fav!!! Chinese broccoli sautéed in garlic & salt/pepper shrimp w/shell on were all really good. Wasn't a fan of spicy dumplings nor soft shell crabs Service was friendly & efficient plus our waiter Ken gave great recommendations for our future visit ~Peking Duck; noodle soup & Bbq Korean short ribs. Highly recommend for small or large groups. We saw a table of 13 for a graduation dinner Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
I'm a little surprised at the negative ratings. Our go to place and it's local. Could argue a few Chinese places in Westmont/Darien is nearly better Chinatown quality, but this place for sure nails a "Joy Yee" type experience. Their Noodles is similar to Wonton Gourmet and worth the wait for Noodle soups. Not a Ramen restaurant, but they have Chinese BBQ Pork, Duck, Fish Filet, etc....pretty much any authentic Cantonese style restaurant in Chinatown offers. Also has Vietnamese Pho and Korean Galbi/Bulgogi. Great find for our family, not for Asian fusion crowds who want Americanized stuff. Worth it and 5 min from our home. If anything, maybe $1-$2 more than Chinatown, but since local, will spend the extra $$$.

Yelp
We used to come here after a long days work to eat some tasty asian food. To be fair the food is good. We ordered fried belly and it was burned like shown in the photo but it taste good. And the soup was really awesome. One thing i noticed was that everytime we visit here, the servers are always rushing and they kinda like they woul try to take our plates even though we were still eating. The restaurant ambiance is nice.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday evening. The place was empty. It's a new restaurant. The place is clean. It is nicely decorated. First of all, the menu is massive. Like overwhelmingly massive. There are so many dishes to choose from that it is hard to believe that they have an excellent dish that is consistent. The food we ordered came out quick. It was basically food court quality and flavor. Not something I would expect out of a stand alone restaurant in the middle of elmhurst. The textures were off, the flavor was weak. The portions were large though. It Sadly I wouldn't come back here again.

Yelp
Ming Chef is worth the visit (and then some)! If you've lived around Chicagoland and enjoy Asian food, you've most likely had Joyee Noodle (located in both Chicago and Naperville). If you don't want to drive out to those locations, you can check out Ming Chef in Elmhurst for some solid dishes and drinks. My husband and I visited the restaurant on a Saturday evening around 6:45pm and were promptly seated. We ordered the Beef cubes over tomato rice, the chicken and shrimp pad Thai, and a half serving of the roasted duck. Portion sizes were ginormous, and we will most likely be eating two more meals from our leftovers. Beef Cubes - a fan favorite, and the tomato rice tasted the exact same as Joyee's. The beef cubes could have used a little bit more sauce, but overall, a solid 4.5/5. Chicken and Shrimp Pad Thai - I've gotten the same dish at Joyee, and honestly, if you want legit Thai food, go to a Thai restaurant. You get what you ask for coming to a pan-Asian restaurant. I most likely will not be ordering it next time 3/5. Roasted Duck - the roasted duck was absolutely divine! The duck was cooked deliciously, and the meat was so moist! 7/5, definitely would recommend. Drinks - my husband ordered the lychee watermelon freeze with tapioca and I got the avocado freeze with tapioca. Both drinks were great 5/5 and tapioca was well cooked (if you like chewier textures). Overall, the bill came out to $58 without tip. Looks like we've found a new go-to Asian restaurant!

Yelp
This is a nice new business with a large menu for both food and drinks.  From our initial sampling of their lunch specials menu, we found they have authentic tasting dishes at a good value.  The business is only 2 weeks old and they have an on-going 15% off promo until Mother's Day for their Grand Opening.  I say go now!  We tried their basil chow fun noodles with beef ($9.50 regular price) and Thai green curry chicken ($8.50).  Both lunch items came with hot and sour soup, an egg roll, and a fortune cookie.  All in, taxes included, and with the 15% promo - $16.74(!), and it was a lot of food and all great tasting.  The Thai green curry was a bit different than typical, but it still tasted great and just as expected.  I was thinking it maybe should be called Irish green curry though with its light and bright green color, and it had green beans in it, also an atypical ingredient.  The beef chow fun noodles and egg roll were very nice also, and with no surprises on presentation. We did carryout but they have a nice, spacious, open and airy dining room and an attractive bar.  They are actually just a quick trip down I-294 for us and we've already picked out the next two dishes for our soonish next visit.  So, welcome Ming Chef, and we'll be back!

Yelp
Outstanding food from the people that brought Joy Yee to Chicagoland. Excited to have my favorite pan-Asian place in Western Suburbs. The menu is expansive (and somewhat overwhelming at first), and the quality of food is matched by quantity. They're still working out the kinks with the waitstaff, but quality of food met expectations. My wife and I will be back again soon with family and friends.

Yelp
I really like the food- great variety, always tasty. I'm very picky about my Asian food as I'm ethnically Asian. I won't go anywhere else in elmhurst.

Yelp
Transcendental. A must have for Chinese take out in elmhurst on a weekend when you don't feel like cooking after hosting a child's birthday party.
