I decided to try Ming Dynasty after reading many positive reviews both on Google and other websites. The lady taking orders was friendly and spoke good English. There was a lunch special that included a plate with rice and either 1,2, or 3 items. I decided to get double General Tso Chicken and beef and vegetable with fried rice and an egg roll. I also ordered a separate appetizer of crab rangoons. My order was fulfilled very quickly and at a fair price. They do have some tables there, but seating is limited. When I got to eating my food, I thought it was a mixed bag. The General Tso chicken had good flavor but the coating was bad; it was like eating a weird emulsion. The beef and vegetable was mediocre and lacked good flavor. I did enjoy the fried rice but the egg roll tasted like it was frozen and microwaved. The crab rangoons were my favorite part of my order. They had a good texture and a nice cream cheese and crab filling. Overall, I felt as though you got a good value with the amount of food for the money, but the quality was hit or miss. I think that there are definitely better Chinese restaurants in the area. However, I have also had much worse. It may be worth a try if you are picky with what you order, but I will likely choose other places.

After attempting a couple quick stops for lunch, where they were either closed or out of lunch food, I made a stop for dinner. I ordered the Pad Thai and the Chicken Hunan. Pad Thai was good and surprisingly the Chicken Hunan was a little too spicy for me. I'll try something different next time.

My mom and l went here after traveling from Mt.Pleasant to Lansing on August 6, 2025 and she wanted some Chinese so l recommended Ming Dynasty because of me living in Lansing for a while l got to try their food and from my experience then it wasn’t that bad of food, so she wanted me to order the Seasame Chicken combo with fried rice and a egg roll to go. Soon after we got home and settled, a couple hours after my mom ate her food, she began having terrible stomach pain and complained that she couldn’t poop, she was hot, dizzy etc so l ended up taking her to emergency and come to find out she got food poisoning from this restaurant. DO NOT GO HERE, there are plenty of other clean and safe Chinese restaurants to dine at besides this one, when l arrived they had all their doors open and food just out to where bugs or anything can contaminate it. I urge you not to eat her if you can.

The girls up front were very nice to deal with. Unfortunately that was about it. The crab rangoon was very good. Egg rolls didn't taste good. My Szechuan chicken was a bit salty but I tolerated it. I also had hot and sour soup. I cannot express how bad it was. Very very salty, I'd put it on par with an Alka Seltzer salty. First time I didn't finish a hot and sour soap. This was a first visit looking for a different Chinese restaurant and I'd say we are still looking.

Some of the best Chinese food I have ever had! We’ve tried many spots in many areas and Ming Dynasty is definitely our favorite. We go almost weekly and we’ve never been let down, food is always hot and exactly what we ordered and it’s always delicious! The staff is super friendly and the inside is small but it’s cute! Check this place out if you’re in the area!

Google
I ordered based on reviews to try something new. I ordered veggie Lo Mein with extra veggies maybe had 2 pieces of broccoli. I did order spicy but that was extreme and noodles were soo greasy it was nasty. I also ordered Spicy chicken fried rice Same was absolutely disgusting. Thinking you need to change your oil or something Sorry but probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had. All went in the trash. 😢

Google
This place could use a remodeling in the inside. I ordered 2 combination plate with white rice, and my rice tasted smushed. I didn't understand why the Crab Rangoon was in middle of my order. Bourbon Chicken tasted bland, and Coconut Curry Chicken could have had a few more pieces of chicken, I got mainly veggies. If the curry sauce was thicker, I can see it being really good. I also Beef Lo Mein, and this was particularly pretty good. It's pretty odd that Michiganders are not fans of fried chicken. I can tell it used to be a part of their menu, but I've noticed many Chinese Restaurants don't have that on their menu. Smh.

Google
It used to be awesome and now you barely get anything. Don't order the 4 meat fried rice. You get literally, I counted them 6 TINY shrimp, the crab ragoon is just cream cheese, anything that has a meat other than SS chicken you will be disappointed in. It's a shame but it is what it is. Sad . We are white and my mom makes better lumpia than they do "crab" ragoon. It went under when the younger people took over. I'll be looking for a new place and my mom and friends will follow. I'd rather go to Asia Finest. You pay for cream cheese not crab. The East Coast has better Asian food. They make you pay the money but don't deliver.

Yelp
Ming Dynasty is good! The food was not quite as flavorful as expected but still tasty. The egg drop soup is probably healthier than what I was expecting... it wasn't your average, caustically yellow goop, but a nice clear soup with plenty of veggies. Crab Rangoon, 10/10 delicious! Sesame chicken was spicy which was so strange to me. Our large order was ready in just about 25 minutes on a Friday night. Service was friendly and efficient! They have drinks for purchase inside next to the pickup counter. Wish they had online ordering, but alas. The parking lot was replaced and the fence between it and Leo's is gone, so parking isn't as stressful anymore! 3 feels too low, and there's no 3.5, so 4 it is!

Yelp
Ming Dynasty was closed for about a month and a half. I'm not sure if ownership changed hands but there is a different, younger kitchen crew now. I ordered egg rolls, egg drop soup, beef with broccoli and crab rangoons. The crew most definitely seemed new because there was rushed yelling from the kitchen and zero customer service. The food was as expected but I was so disappointed that my egg rolls were room temperature so I microwaved them for a minute. I'll stop by again in a few weeks to see if the new kids on the block can get organized.

Yelp
Food will scratch that Chinese itch but is just okay to me. Lots of traffic with people picking up food to go. Place is small and plain looking. Cashier was busy and efficient.

Yelp
Great food. Especially love the wonton soup, General Tso chicken and their crab Rangoon. Delivery is fast as food arrives hot

Yelp
WHEN you visit Ming Dynasty, you MUST order the chicken fried rice. I've ordered so many fantastic dishes , but the chicken fried rice is my absolute favorite at Ming's! This family pours their heart and soul into every dish and the cuisine is top notch. The employees are warm and welcoming and even remember your name after a couple visits (or based off of the fact that we get the same thing almost every time cause it's SO GOOD!!!) We love you Ming Dynasty! Please don't stop cooking the best Chinese food in Lansing! I don't want to go to any other place!

Yelp
Great service and food! This is our favorite spot to pick up some carryout and it never disappoints.

Yelp
OK so apparently they serve different food at their Buffay for lunch then they do if you come after lunch I came and got some food after lunch one day and it was just a sweet mess of. I don't know what it was. I returned it the next day, but right when they're opened, and the food that they were serving at lunchtime was fresh so I exchanged it instead of getting my money back and I have to admit it was really good so if you're going to this place, go right when they open

Yelp
The staff was very welcoming, also good affordable prices. I feel I really got the bang for my buck. I will definitely be going back!

Yelp
I ordered takeout, not one item missed on a large order and everything was very good!

Yelp
Ordered sweet & sour chicken but they forgot to give me the sweet & sour sauce. Paid for extra green onions & snow peas and they forgot to give me any onions at all let alone extra. They never gave us Fortune cookies until when my husband had to go back up to pick up my sauce for my chicken. My husband's General Tao dinner was tasty and my son truly enjoyed their Orange Chicken. Heavy handed on their ginger and the sweet & sour sauce wasn't even sweet nor flavorful. No offer for discount for having messed up the order & having to go back up to get my sauce. No plum sauce for egg rolls just the generic bland orange packet duck sauce

Yelp
The food was great! We really enjoyed the crab ragoons, the Ramen and the steamed dumplings.

Yelp
I'm so upset that I've never noticed this little hole-in-the-wall place but I'm so very happy I finally got the chance to go here. I ordered my favorite, a combination platter which was sweet & sour chicken but switched it up a bit and got lo mein noodles instead and I was very pleased. I'm very peculiar about my s & s chicken because some places it's too breaded, the sauce tastes canned, super greasy deep fried chicken, etc.... but this place had it perfect. The lo mein noodle were so yummy too! Also waiting time was not bad either, probably about 8 minutes, which I don't mind at all for the quality of food. This place is my new favorite Chinese spot.

Yelp
Genuinely the best food Chinese food in Lansing, literally everything is good. Fresh and made to order

Della H.

Yelp
Amazing. Best Chinese food I've ever had. It's all made to order, nothing is frozen. We got the Crab Rangoons, General T'so Chicken and Beef and broccoli. The veggies in the beef and broccoli were so yummy and fresh. The sauces for both dishes was fresh and tasted homemade. The staff was so friendly as well. Safe to say we are now regulars at along Dynasty!

Yelp
Popped in for a Chinese craving on this side of town. Had general tso chicken. With white rice and a crab Rangoon it was $5. Plenty for lunch. Good heat and not overdone with the breading. They let me try the pad Thai and it was good!! Don't let the exterior fool you. Must try. Limited seating however.

Yelp
I've been eating here for years. The lunch special is my favorite. Never had a problem plus I love their crab rangoon

Yelp
Definitely a solid choice on the South end! The Tom Yup soup is delicious. I always get it extra spicy but that's me. The menu that's online isn't updated btw.

Yelp
I love my chinese food and this place is probably the best in Lansing for take-out. Huge portion sizes and you can't go wrong with the menu. Crab ragoons are great too!

Yelp
This is the best Chinese food I've had in the Lansing area, and some of the best I've had in a long time. Most of the time I find Chinese take out places to just be very average at best, but this place was very good. My boyfriend and I both ordered combination plates for dinner. He ordered general tsao's chicken with an egg roll, and I had tofu with veggies & a crab Rangoon. The egg roll & crab Rangoon were pretty standard. The sauces on both of our meals were excellent. Also I appreciated that my tofu came with a good quantity & variety of veggies you don't necessarily get from most Chinese places. The whole meal came out to about $15 and we each had enough for two meals. Only downside is they don't deliver, but I'll be ordering take out from here anytime I'm in the mood for some Chinese stir fry.

Yelp
It's a mom and pop type of business......People are super nice.....that's why I gave more stars than the food was worth. I guess it depends on the style you are looking for. Hot and Sour soup was very bitter....I ordered it on the mild side.....but all I could taste was pepper flakes. They misunderstood what I wanted.....I wanted meatless fried rice.....and I received a veggie delight type of dish. They were hunks of eggs which had a terrible taste and it lacked onions and carrots.......also not fond of the bean sprouts in my rice. The flavor just didn't stand out. I would suggest NOT eating in......the place is a bit dirty and while only 65 degrees outside....it was pushing 85 inside. I won't return

Yelp
Great cheap, fast, friendly Asian food!!! Love their Tom Yum soup, and sweet Ms. Mei (the owner) always smiles and waves. The food is always hot and fresh, and Ms. Christy at the counter provides fast, efficient service. Great for takeout!

Yelp
I was very happy with our take-out. They were pretty slow but with how fresh and well prepared the food was it didn't even matter.

Yelp
Went looking for Chinese food and stumbled upon this gem! The staff was fantastic and the food was awesome! I would definitely recommend this place.

Jesusa V.

Yelp
The restaurant is under new/old management. We were there tonight and the veggie egg rolls were good. We will make it a regular stop now that Mama is back in the kitchen! Call ahead as all the food is made fresh. Greasin' in Lansing

Yelp
Meh, maybe it was the time of day I went but my general tso was over cooked and the rice was not exciting.

Laurie D.

Yelp
A friendly lady took our order, but had difficulty with English. We ordered the vegetarian egg foo yong, pad Thai and tofu with vegetables. The tofu with vegetables was probably the tastiest of them all. They brought out a dish with no tofu first and we waited as they remade our order. The egg foo yong and pad Thai were underseasoned. We also got vegetarian eggrolls were pretty salty. The lady came out to ask us how we were doing. It appears she cooks and takes orders. We waited almost 25 minutes for our food. There were a few carry/outs but we were the only ones eating in. Eating in, we ate from containers with plastic silverware. Seems to be more of a carry out place.

Yelp
I love this place! I order carry out about once a month. Always great food at a decent price. Normally pretty quick too. The only negative I'd say is that the meals I order with lots of sauces, like Orange Chicken, often seem to spill out into the bag, but that's about it. I'm always very satisfied and recommend it.

Michael F.

Yelp
Ming Dynasty is a great family run Chinese restaurant. Though they are only open during lunch and dinner hours, their quality and portion sizes are fantastic. If you are looking for gourmet Chinese food, you will not find it. But if you want some good classic Amerian Chinese Take Out, look no further! I am particularly fond of their General Tso's and Sesame chicken. Lunch prices are very reasonable.

Yelp
So upset, ordered from my favorite local Chinese food establishment tonight as I was craving it. Had a difficult time ordering over the phone, I thought I heard her say "paradise" when she first answered so I said I was trying to call Ming dynasty Chinese is this them I want to place a pick up order? She asked what she could get me and so I told her and she kept repeating it, no big deal, I figured she was new and wanted to get it right. My husband picked it up 15minutes later. Lo and behold the restaurant has been renamed and apparently has new owners. "Paradise Thai and Chinese Cuisine". Sad to hear because everyone there had always been so sweet, but hey we've got the food let's enjoy it! No. Big fat no. Orange chicken has absolutely NO flavor just tasted like chicken fried in old oil. Sweet and sour chicken the sauce was brown instead of the beautiful bright red it used to be. Also zero flavor and very greasy. Upgraded from the fried rice to the noodles. No vegetables, also no flavor. So very disappointed in this experience. In my opinion, Ming dynasty was a 5 star on everything I ever ordered from them. Paradise is a big fat zero.

Yelp
tasty and super cheap! get them to make it fresh for you rather than buying from the pre-prepared lunch steamer tray options. nothing mind blowing, but yummy ingredients and lots of flavor.

John S.

Yelp
After reading other posted reviews we gave this restaurant a try. We were not overly impressed when they used frozen veggys, but it was take out so it happens. The food was tasty with just a little too much sauce. The real surprise came about three hours after we ate. I woke up with severe stomach pains. An agonizing night and several trips to the loo was the price I paid for eating At The Ming Dynasty.

Jermish M.

Yelp
The food was done on time and the staff was very friendly. The rating is because I would say their food was slightly better than Ingcredible. also the dinner portion size seemed small; only one Rangoon!?
