A central-city favorite for all-day dim sum and Cantonese seafood. Praised by the Sacramento Bee for variety and standout seafood; locals come for congee, steamed buns, and cart-time classics without leaving town.

Google
One of the better authentic Chinese restaurants here in Sac, reasonably priced, wide selection of dimsum, family style dishes, and soups. We ordered a bunch of stuff to go and they gave you pretty big boxes and filled them all up. We also went back another day to dine in and the food was fresh, service was fast, and the food was grandma approved. Honey walnut shrimp wasn't that good, too much mayo and wasn't very sweet. Dim sum was super tasty tho! The green veggies were a bit too tough. Everything else was tasty.

Google
Provided a very authentic experience. The shu mai was good and I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken feet. They were very flavorful. The cleanliness of the location wasn't great and we had to seat longer than expected. A number of parties, of various sizes were seated despite being past us on the list. The baked pork buns tasted better than the steam pork buns, but the steamed ones had more filling (meat). The taste didn't astound but it was a solid meal.

Google
Came here for dim sum because we were in the area. Selection was really limited and the carts weren’t coming around as often as I would have expected. Food itself was fine but it wouldn’t be my top choice for dim sum in Sacramento. A bit disappointed with the overall options to choose from. Staff was nice

Love coming here for our Thursday night group dinners. Family Style course dinners are the way to go 😊👌🏼

Google
I love the flavors, authentic chinese dimsum in a typical chinese restaurant set up. The service crew is polite, the dim sum choices and numerous and turn over of new choices is quick. Unfortunately as it's a typical chinese restaurant the ambient noise is so loud especially when the place is full

Google
The Ming Dynasty is one of the famous Chinese restaurants that have Cantonese Dim Sum. I was there with a few friends to enjoy their yummy dim sum this morning. The restaurant is open at 10 am on the weekends. We were there at 10:35 am. The parking lots are full. We have to park our car a block away on a street parking. The Ming Dynasty doesn't have enough parking spaces. The restaurant is less than half full at the time. The service in the Ming Dynasty is fast. All the dim sum items we ordered are very delicious. The prices are reasonable compared to other dim sum restaurants in recent years.

Google
This place is so yum. We had har gow, shu mai, beef rice noodle roll, baked bbq pork bun, deep fried pork dumpling, and shanghai soup dumpling. Everything was great, but our favorite was shu mai! We love trying out new dim sum places and the shu mai here was the best we’ve had.. hands down. We were sad that the Portuguese egg tarts were out.. can’t wait to come back when we’re in town. It was around $35 for the both of us and we had some to go. VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED!!

Google
1st time here for a birthday celebration. Great staff & very attentive. Ordered way more food than we could finish but everything was soo fresh & delicious. Loved it! Definitely want to come back for more

Yelp
The food is delicious, but beware the takeout containers. If you want to avoid eating microplastic styrofoam, the food is put in so hot that it melts the to-go foam and plastic dip cups.

Yelp
Ming Dynasty is a good place for dim sum in Sacramento. I've dined here many times and most of the experiences have been good. At this dim sum restaurant, they push the dim sum carts from table to table so you can order straight from the cart, or you can also order from your server off the menu. They don't provide the dim sum menu at the table so you have to get it from the counter if you want one. The pork siu mai was pretty good. I also liked their ha gao, shrimp noodle roll, deep fried pork puff, deep fried taro puff, soy sauce tofu, empress chicken, garlic spare ribs, turnip cake, and green tea mochi balls with black sesame. Their XLBs were just okay. The soy sauce chow mein was a miss last time we dined there. It seemed like it was just reheated and not hot. The steamed buns with egg custard inside were so so, but kids liked the ones shaped like piggies. The tea selection was good. On my last visit, they charged us an extra tea fee and charge an L dish that was M in the menu. All small things, but still things to keep an eye out for. With few dim sum restaurants in Sac, Ming Dynasty is one of the better choices right now.

Yelp
I've been coming to this dim sum place the past couple of years and this is a staple. Not only the price is reasonable, but the service is great as well. My recent visit was perfect, all the items was fresh and hot, and one aspect that stood out was that the person doing the cards also mention the items in English, which helps for those people who don't speak Chinese. Overall would highly recommend this place. Just writing this review makes me hungry. Also no need to worry about the wait, on the last 3 times I've been here I've had never had to wait for a table!

Yelp
Came back to have some more dim sum but what made this visit a fruitful experience was the lobster and noodles with light brown sauce and some green onions. It's a whole lobster, cut up, on top of delicious noodles. It was a special for the day so the price was lower. It was so good and the portion was good enough to take home for dinner for three. Dim sum is dim sun, you can't ever go wrong as long as you know what you're getting. Service was fantastic and response time was quick. They were all smiles and even gave suggestions. There was quite a bit of people still there and two more groups came in even though it was almost 1400. The vibe was good, the restaurant was clean, and not too loud. Plenty of parking provided and street parking is available.

Yelp
Order food to go, Empress chicken wasn't fully cooked and still bleeding from the bone. Beef chowmien and roasted duck was very bland with no flavor.

Yelp
Have tried Ming Dynasty a few times in the past alone and with family. Today ordered the chao zhou style dumpling, chicken feet, and beef chow fun dry style as opposed to gravy style. Everything was very tasty especially the beef chow fun. It is flavorful without being too salty and noodles were not clumped together compared to some I've had before from other places. The other two dishes were good as well but will try other dim sum dishes next visit. I love noodles, so will try other noodle dishes as well since the chow fun was good. Chow fun came out first and not a long wait then the dim sum dishes came out the same time, again not a long wait. Good service all in all. Place is spacious. I came early but as dinner progressed, the place fills up but there is plenty of room. You can order ahead of time for pick up and I did see a lot of pick up orders. Will come back soon. Thank you.

Yelp
Dined at Ming Dynasty for the second time; both of which were for Chinese New Years and had a good experience each time. Many places can have could food, but the interaction with staff can make or break the experience. And either make you want to come back or never come back again. Both of my times here the staff were very friendly, and made you feel like both they wanted to be there and wanted you as a customer there. That hasn't been my experience unfortunately at some other Chinese buffets in the area. Once our whole party arrived we looked over the menu briefly, and ordered the following: Our courses: Egg flower soup Sweet & Sour Pork Lobster special Oyster fried rice Asian broccoli Lettuce wraps Fried fish Everything came out really well amd I enjoyed all of the food. My favorite who have to be the crispy salt & pepper Lobster. The batter was nice and crispy and was also perfectly seasoned. But overall I really enjoyed every dish we ordered. Overall: Friendly staff, good environment and great food.

Yelp
I ordered the house special BBQ platter and the beef chow fun as a take out order. I was expecting roast duck with the BBQ platter as this is what was on the photo on Door Dash. I was quite disappointed. The platter came with jellyfish, seaweed salad, roast pork, cha sui, and a type of beef cold cut. I did not enjoy the jellyfish as it tasted very bland and unseasoned. The roast pork was too fatty for my liking and the skin was no longer crispy by the time I returned home with my order. Everything else was delicious. The beef chow fun was just okay. Perhaps, I'll dine in on my next visit for a more pleasant experience.

Yelp
This place is so good. We came on a Sunday at 3pm. We ordered using a pen writing on their picture menu. Everything came out hot and fresh. All of the dishes we ordered were delicious. Customer service was excellent also. The parking lot is a little sketchy though. I saw homeless camps in the area.

Yelp
I have not been here in a long time, so today me and my sister went. I'm not sure if it's under new management but the place was pretty clean and looks more organized now. We got here at about 12:00, was greeted and sat down super fast! I think we got here at a good time because after 15mins a whole crowd showed up and it was getting busy!! The carts were coming by one by one. You can also order something from the menu if anything too. The waiters/servers and A Yi (auntie)'s were super nice and attentive. I feel like this place generally had better service and friendlier service than other spots. We picked what we wanted it was was flavorful and hot. Super good. Quality was good and I enjoyed every bite of it. I love the shrimp and chives dumplings? I forget what it's called. It was pan fried so good and crispy with juice flavor!! Man I could just eat another one right now. After you pick your item, it is stamped on a paper depending on the size of the dish or speciality, etc. You pay up at the front with the super good looking lady that's well dressed( I think she's the owner) def gave boss lady vibes. Our total came out to 40$ ! Super cheap and yummy. Overall come here if you're not wanting to drive super far to like south sac or Elk Grove or if you want to try a new dim sum spot!

Yelp
This place has THE best shumai and egg tarts that I've ever had. First time here today and I will definitely come back whenever someone I know is in town and we crave for dumplings! Service was so sweet and efficient, and I just can't get over how delicious the shumai was. They were huge, and you would get a shrimp in every bite! I loved living the cart experience and the tea was so soothing and complemented the egg tarts very well. Definitely one of my favorites here and can't wait to be back! The only thing I wouldn't order again was the Xiao Long Bao as I found them to be dry, which isn't good for a soup dumpling. But the other items on the menu were delicious! Ambiance was good. We came right at opening so it started off quiet but it didn't take long for people to come pouring in. The service was excellent!

Yelp
A review about the Wor Wonton soup I've been eating at Ming Dynasty for years. I've had everything up and down their menu but a constant go to for me is the Wor Wonton soup. This is my go to feel better soup, if I'm sick or just in the mood to stuff my soul with delicious soup. I've tried many versions of Wor Wonton around town and I feel like I the best version at Ming Dynasty. Alongside fresh, delicious dumplings, expect a good amount of veggies, seafood, and meats to fufill that soup craving. I like that if you get it to-go, the broth is separated from everything else to maximize freshness when you get home. I like to add hot chili oil and a little soy sauce. I like to sweat it out while I'm scarfing down this meal. In an ever-changing world, Ming Dynasty has not changed this perfect meal and I'm thankful for that. I've done takeout a ton of times but have also ate inside. This place is a good size, can be a little loud during cart service but a great spot for entertaining and enjoying time with loved ones over a good meal. The waiters are friendly and I've never had any problems with service. If you're craving some delicious Wor Wonton soup, please give Ming Dynasty a try!

Yelp
I've been here twice. The first visit was a little while back but I recall the experience being pretty solid. Pricing was competitive, they had a good variety of dim sum, quality was legit, and the service was fine. Based on that, I decided to return here for a second trip. The second trip was less stellar than the first, mainly because service was slow and it took us a while to get our food. This was after the lunch rush in the mid afternoon, so it felt a bit unusual to have slower service during their wind down period. My only guess is that the kitchen slows down later in the afternoon, but who knows. The dim sum was about average and overshadowed by the how slow the dishes came out and some of the plates didn't seem super hot. Dim sum prices as of November 2024: Small - $4.25 Medium - $5.55 Large - $6.25 Kitchen - $7.85 For reference, siu mai is a medium (4 pieces) and shrimp rice noodle rolls are considered a large. Overall, I'd still come back, but probably avoiding midday due to the slow service and the food didn't seem hot and fresh.

Yelp
I only came here once a few weeks ago, and honestly I really enjoyed the food/dim sum, and they had great prices with decent service. We were a party of 7 and ordered a nice variety of dim sum and a couple dishes from their kitchen, everything we tried was good. However, at the end of our dinner after we paid our bill, we had a "surprise guest" aka a huge cockroach that was crawling up my friend's arm while we were still seated at our table near their water tanks.. Thankfully we were done eating already, otherwise that would have likely ruined our appetites. But that alone is enough to prevent me from visiting this establishment again due to my own concerns with their sanitary practices. :(

Yelp
This used to be my favorite place for dim sum.. but... I really don't know what happened ..last 3 times I been here, the food had gone downhill. The flavors of the food are not the same as they were before. And sadly.. I won't be coming back for awhile.

Yelp
Tried this place for the very first time and was delightfully surprised!! We were looking for a place that was open in the being that sold fried shrimp balls and other dim sum items and this place hit the mark. Not only is this place super reasonable for the price but also for the portion size! I almost forgot to take a picture because we ate everything so fast but we ordered 2 orders of fried shrimp balls Tasty, crispy, comes with a side of sweet and sour sauce. 3 orders of shumai Huge in size and they use whole mini shrimp instead of dicing them which I liked. The flavor was on point. Will definitely be ordering from this place again.

Yelp
My first and last time placing an order with this place. The food was bland and not seasoned. THE BIGGEST COMPLAINT, there was a BUG in my food. This restaurant has been reported to Sacramento County Environmental Health Dept. before. I looked them up when I should have checked before ordering anything from this nasty restaurant.

Yelp
Ming Dynasty never fails to provide fresh, quality, and quick service! Great for both take out and dining - I love bringing a large group here but also can't resisted a braised tofu to go!

Yelp
It had been quite a while since my last visit, but my parents were craving dim sum--and I remembered this spot being pretty solid. I was especially excited to find that on a Friday afternoon, they had full cart service going! Last time I came, they didn't have the carts, so this was a really nice surprise. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful, and I was pleasantly surprised there were no issues with over-salting or that MSG-heavy aftertaste you sometimes run into. The dishes felt clean, well-balanced, and satisfying. Service was great--friendly, prompt, and attentive. If something wasn't on the cart, the staff went out of their way to track it down and bring it straight to our table, which was awesome. Prices felt totally reasonable and in line with most dim sum spots. All in all, it was a delicious experience, and I'd come back in a heartbeat. Definitely a go-to for a satisfying dim sum fix.

Yelp
OMG I lived in the Sac region for over 25+ years and I don't know how I missed ever coming to Ming Dynasty! I got invited to my daughter's BF Chinese New Year family dinner here a few weeks back and OMG was I impressed. I have driven right past this place for years and even a few weeks back the outside wouldn't have pulled me in. Parked outside a little sketchy with some the homeless people wandering around, but they did have a security guard so made it feel a little safer. Walking in not what I was expecting either felt more like a banquet hall more than anything. What did catch my eye were the massive fish tanks across the back wall with tons of lobsters, crabs and other delicious seafood! Inside to be honest nothing special and the bathrooms not that special either actually kinda dirty on my night visiting. But what made up for it was the amazing service and even more amazing food! This place brought me back to eating in downtown SF as a kid in China Town. Everything is served family style and the flavors out of bounds! My absolute hands down favorites were lobster chow mein literally with the whole lobster. Then the Peking duck and build your own boa buns with plum sauce was so good!!!! I loved the environment here as well on the night I was here it was such a party with huge families gathered to celebrate. So happy I got the invite and look forward hopefully getting another one next year!

Yelp
Private parking lot. Lots of indoor seating. It's your typical dim sum spot with fresh live seafood in a glass that you can pick from. There are fancy chandeliers up top. The service was exceptional! They were very accommodating from getting us the sauce on the side, plastic utensils for our toddler, and always bringing everything to us with extra napkins. Everything was made fresh to order and came out hot. This was our first time here and won't be our last.

Yelp
We were late arriving into Sacramento and chose Ming because it's open till 10PM. It's a huge restaurant serving authentic Cantonese style fair on an extensive menu. I wanted my son (pictured) to experience some of the indigenous preparations, like sautéed Gai Lan, Roast Duck, Chicken Dim Sum, and Chicken Feet. The whole meal was delicious! ...and the price was only $41. I could eat there every day for a month and never try all the items on the menu. (See the pics). Based on food quality, selection and price, this is a "must try" restaurant! Bonus: the bathrooms are very clean!

Yelp
This was my first time going here and I will definitely be back! Went as a group of 5, ordered 11 different dishes to share and all of us went home with leftovers. This place has a Michelin Star and I totally understand why. The dining space has loads of room and I love the Lazy Susan on the tables as it made it easy to share the dishes along the table. The customer service was 10/10; our servers kept the water filled, cleared dishes to make room for more, and overall had a very positive demeanor and made our group feel very welcomed. The food came out quickly and all of it tasted very fresh and delicious. Here is a list of what we had and my rating for each. +House Special Fried Rice - 5/5 I love fried rice and enjoyed the combination of chicken and pork in the rice. +Shrimp Fried Rice - 5/5 They put a generous amount of shrimp +BBQ Pork Chow Mein - 5/5 Good flavor with tasty noodle +Deep Fried Shrimp Ball - 5/5 They cut the Shrimp Balls in half with scissors at the table so it can cool down. The crunchy exterior with a shrimp inner mixture inside was super yummy. +Kung Pao Chicken - 5/5 Nice spicy kick with yummy veggies and perfectly cooked chicken. +Beef Chow Fun (dry) - 5/5 Tasty flat noods +Shu Mai - 5/5 I am so accustomed to small Shu Mai from other places and was astonished at how large they make theirs. The size was a pleasant surprise and the taste is also delish. +Deep Fried Pork Dumpling - 0/5 I did not enjoy the flavor. I am not saying it was poorly made, it just did not fit my palate. +Steamed BBQ Pork Buns - 5/5 Soft and pillowy exterior with a savory/sweet bbq pork interior. Yum yum +Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings 5/5 I love a good wing and these were crispy and seasoned well. +Baked Egg Custard Buns - 5/5 This was the first thing I ate. The sweet taste took me by surprise and I loved it. A soft outer with a sweet custard filling - -just delectable

Yelp
New ownership, new experience. We knew something was up when we pulled into the parking lot and there were 3 parking spaces open; normally we'd have to park across the street at Target. Also, no waiting once we entered- at least 4 tables were open...at 11:45am on a Sunday; unheard of at any dim sum joint. Prime time and not packed? Been coming here since the Fortune House days, but now that it's Ming Dynasty 2.0, we may be staying in Elk Grove for our dim sum fix. Service is great with the ever-friendly Ken roaming the floor, and our server Jing was pleasant, as were the cart pushers. Food...that's another story. Family members noticed lack of flavor on some dishes, namely the wrapped bean curd, the meatballs (mushy) and the chicken feet. Some dishes were lukewarm (shrimp cheurng fun and the pan fried chives dumplings). The shredded pork chow mein dish was about 90% noodles and 10% shiitake shrooms/pork. Only positive change I noticed during this outing were the uniforms and the new carpeting. Aside from that, I'm gonna stay local and address my dim sum fix in Elk Grove

Yelp
Prime rib with mushrooms is amazing. I think it's about $25 now but worth every penny.

Yelp
I been here twice and haven't been disappointed yet. We order our usually and everything we order was good parking can be a challenge, a little dated but the food is what matters to me service was good in and out quick and reasonably price.

Yelp
Overall: 4/5 Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Price: 5/5 Came here for dim sum on a Saturday afternoon. The food was delicious! The pork ribs were fall off the bone tender, the chicken feet were tender and gelatiny! The su mai was great, the service was friendly and quick! The manager Ken came over and talked sports and checked in on us. Very pleasant dining experience! I love the Old Skool vibe this restaurant has. Solid choice! Will be back again and plan on trying some of the Peking Ribs and Fried Rice next!

Yelp
My wife and I had a delivery order from Ming Dynasty during a recent visit to Sacramento. I very much enjoyed my shrimp fried rice, bbq pork buns, and wonton soup. My wife also enjoyed her Empress Chicken, plain congee, and a vegetable dish with eggplant and green beans. Very good food, well priced, and generous portions.

Yelp
Perfect place for a banquet. This is the 2nd banquet we've been here in 4 weeks. Both my Aunt and Uncle passed away 4 weeks apart. This place has adequate parking. They have a private lot and we've always been lucky to arrive early and snag a spot in their main lot. I do wonder where people park when the lot is full. The food is good. We had green beans, mushrooms and bok Choy platter, honey walnut shrimp, wonton soup, a whole fried fish, rice, roast chicken (I don't know it's official name), Pork Belly, and orange slices for dessert. They also brought in a cake from an outside bakery that was phenomenal. I think my favorite dishes were the green beans, honey walnut shrimp, roast chicken and wonton soup. My least favorite was the whole fish, it was hard to get the meat off the bones. Service was prompt. We had around 70 people at the banquet. The tables were pre set with tea, ice, coke, sprite, glasses, plates, and chopsticks. First the soup was served then the rest of the dishes were brought out in rapid fire. The servers were attentive and brought out pitchers of water for those tables that requested it. They served the soup and then we used the lazy Susan to pass out all the food. I would recommend this place for a banquet. There is a for sale sign out front. I don't know what that means. Hopefully the place will stay in business.

Yelp
Ming Dynasty is a Cantonese restaurant located in the Land Park neighborhood of Sacramento, not far from downtown. My family and I came here for dinner on Father's Day 2023 after spending a day in the state capitol. It was already pretty busy when we walked in at around 6pm. We were greeted by the owner and he seated us immediately. The interior was clean and spacious. The carpeting, furniture, and decor were all old school Cantonese. There were several live fish tanks near the back. Several TVs provided diners with entertainment. It took a while before tea and menus were brought to us. The staffing shortage was apparent. Their menu featured a wide array of Cantonese dishes. The following was what we got: Salt and Pepper Pork Chops - The chops were meaty and crispy. Good salt and pepper taste. Stay away from this dish if you are sensitive to MSG because a copious amount was used. Sautéed Shrimp with Veggies - Very light and tasty. The shrimps were succulent. Sugar snap peas were very sweet. Satay Beef with Gai Lan - Beef was very tender and the satay sauce was intense. Gai lan stems were crunchy and sweet but not a whole lot of leaves on them. Braised Cod and Tofu Clay Pot - Good stuff. Lightly battered pieces of fish were deep fried and then braised in a savory sauce. Tofu was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Sizzling Chicken in Black Bean Sauce - Although it was tasty, it didn't sizzle because it wasn't served on a sizzling platter. The lack of detail was disappointing. Dry Fried String Beans - The string beans were very fresh. The topping, made with ground pork, dried shrimp, and jar choi (zha cai in Mandarin, commonly known as Chinese pickled vegetable) was savory and addicting. The dishes were fairly priced, and the portions were moderate. Service was good despite the staff shortage. Servers were friendly and responsive to our requests. The total, with T/T, was around $110. This is a legit Cantonese restaurant with strong credentials. They were a Michelin recommended establishment back in 2019 and have many favorable reviews here. We are going to return in future to try their dim sum. 4 stars. BONUS MATERIAL: - Private parking lot on site. - Major credit cards accepted. - Banquet menus available. - Directly across the street from Target.

Yelp
Our family arrived around 11 on a weekday and promptly got a table. Service was quick and the ladies pushing the carts patiently walked us through all the dim sum dishes they offered. Definitely helps when you can speak Chinese. We ordered a variety of the usual suspects: har gow, siu mai, shrimp rice noodles, chicken feet, xiao long bao, and baked bbq buns. Nothing astounding but all around solid. Overall, typical Cantonese dim sum spot with a great selection that hits the spot.

Yelp
I drove by this place on 7/5/25. I think it's closed for good. I see a for lease sign and there were no car park. I wonder what happen. It's sad to see local business closed. This restaurant has been in the area for a long time. I had great memories.

Yelp
Ming Dynasty was a choice of the group for some Monday lunch downtown. We were seated promptly but then waited for quite some time for our server to grab our orders. During this time, they were also serving dim sum and the restaurant was busy of course, so I do cut some slack for them as they are getting slammed with orders. Yet, you would think you know when your rush hours are and when to be adequately staffed. 5 out of the 6 of us order wonton soups - varying from the Wonton Soup itself, another with noodles, and the Wor Wonton. Our vegetarian coworker ordered the Peking Style Cucumber and Marinated Tofu. I should also add from the dim sum carts the Salt & Pepper Shrimp was ordered too. FYI, heads were on which meant the shrimp are not cleaned (poop chute). Lol. This wasn't my order but we were informed while our other coworker was eating, nonetheless it was very delicious to her. The cucumbers were decent, could have used more flavor or marinated longer and feedback on the tofu was super bland and could have been cooked longer. Our Wonton Soups hit the spot for us all and we each had plenty to take home after! What I didn't enjoy were the big pieces of shrimp in the wonton. When biting into most of the wonton I encountered unpleasant crunchy bites where I'd very much prefer the shrimp to be grounded/chopped smaller. The likelihood of returning here again is very slim. I was impressed with their serving size of their Wonton Soup for only $9. Imagine you're ordering an XL soup from an American restaurant - plenty to go around or makes great leftovers! And if you're going with 6+ you're going to get charged with 18% gratuity, no surprise there really.

Yelp
Good good but missing three items and one item is definitely not what I ordered! Missing chicken chow mein, garlic, spareribs, salt and pepper, calamari, and salt and pepper chicken . This should've been two bags I received one bag with three items in it and it shows on my ring camera called to get things straightened out got really no help from the person on the phone. She called the driver and it rang and rang and rang and went to voicemail and all she could say was sorry the driver is not answering.

Yelp
Came for dim sum and impressed with variety of choices Had baked bows, many shrimp dumplings, shu mai and egg custards. Food was hot and service fast and courteous. Only minus was noticed staff members didn't remove gloves while using bathroom facilities and instead washed gloved hands?

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to come for dim sum. The service is not the greatest, but the food was good. Sadly, there were a few items that were not available. They either had run out or only offered them on the weekends. The menu is pretty extensive, so I definitely want to go back to try some of their other dishes besides dim sum.

Yelp
Another top tier meal from Ming Dynasty. We had a little game day feast today (go Niners!). Arrived warm & ready via their website that utilizes doordash. Everything was delicious. Some things were not the same but still good. My first time ordering the Yang Zhou fried rice and it was really yummy. Had all the nice bits and pieces of meat & seafood minced in. My lotus wrapped rice was a little too gooey mushy. The ham sui guk had very little meat but it was fried beautifully. Chicken baos were very doughy but a good amount of meat. Chinese broccoli, beef chow fun, shu mai, tofu wrapped pork, shrimp/chive dumplings and egg baos were their usual winning selves. Thank you Ming Dynasty for another consistently delicious meal.

Yelp
We were craving for Dim Sum so off we went to try Ming's Dynasty off Broadway, downtown Sacramento. At first glance, we remembered trying this place a while ago. We were received at the door with a nice older lady. There was no wait and the dining room was pretty filled. As the Dim Sum dishes came around, we chose the usual DS dishes (Shrimp Hao Gao, Xiu Mai, Deep fried Taro, Combo crisp chow mein, beef tripe, sesame balls, shrimp bell peppers, pork spare ribs). The flavors were decent, nothing to brag over other Dim Sum spots. That pretty much sums up this visit, service was good with lots of parking since it's right across from Target shopping Center.

Yelp
Here is my two cents on the quality quantity and price of my order. It was delivered by GrubHub and the courier failed to follow directions on delivery . I order barbecue steamed pork buns. A side of white rice.. and sweet and sour pork.. A order of steam rice cost three dollars . I only received about a one cup of this.. Considering the cost of what rice happens to be a little expensive. What I was really unhappy with was the sweet and sour pork. First off the portion was way too small for the price. I don't mind fat on my pork, but half of the order was just plain fat hardly any lean meat whatsoever . It tasted just mediocre... This must be the worst order of sweet-and-sour pork I have ever had .. I have had quite a bit in my lifetime Steamed barbecue pork buns was just mediocre at best. Nothing special whatsoever.

Yelp
Solid dim sum, wish it was a bit cheaper but it's 2024 so these are the prices you gotta pay. Came on a Sunday at 11am and had to wait 10-15 minutes to be seated. I noticed by 12pm there was no line and lots of empty tables. Everyone likes to get their dim sum early! Service was good, I was able to get water refills promptly. Bathroom is large and nice. - Shu mai comes in 4 HUGE pieces, loved how big and plump they were. - Char siu bao was mediocre - The leaves of the Chinese broccoli had strange texture, but the stems were good. - Purple mochi was a miss, do yourself a favor and skip it - Custard bun was delicious - Pork was much too oily - Shrimp rice roll was average, not enough sauce

Yelp
As a white guy, I approve. All the dumplings were delicious and the pineapple custard bun was immaculate. Got to try chicken feet for the first time too, not bad. Definitely come with people that know Cantonese/mandarin though. It makes ordering a lot easier

Yelp
Good dim sum and great they are open on Christmas. They were super busy between to go orders and dine in. And that was between rush times. Dinner time rolled around as we were leaving and there was a line out the door. I look forward to coming back durin

Yelp
Came here recently and the food quality has gone down. I had to turn away a couple of dim sum items because it was spoiled. The pan fried daikon cake tastes rotten and the bbq pork from the rice noodles has been spoiled. I told the waiter about these items and they just changed out another dim sum item as a replacement. By far the worst experience ever. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants for dim sum. Unfortunately, I will not be returning back here.

Yelp
Dim sum is good, but not if you have a large party on a holiday. No Dim sum served on Christmas. Some of our family (15) of us celebrated Christmas lunch there Dec 2024. When I called ahead no reservations could be accepted, but we got seated quickly. I was told dim sum would be served but when we got there, we were informed no dim sum so we had to order off the menu. We rolled with it and ordered off the menu. They must have forgot we were there as it took us almost 2 hours to get our food, which was a HUGE disappointment. They initially brought out our fish, but nothing after that; we inquired several times where our food was and they kept saying it's coming. Shortly after we seen a few of the servers arguing in their native language so we assume they kept giving our food to other guests. It was a mess going there for a holiday, but otherwise on other days, their service is decent as well as their dim sum.

Yelp
We came to Me Dynasty for dim sum. The food was okay--some of the dim sum arrived cold, which was disappointing, but overall the experience was fine. One thing that stood out was that the tip was automatically added to the bill, even though we were only a party of three. That was unexpected, as gratuity is usually only included for larger groups (typically four or more). Just something to be aware of if you're dining in a small party.

Yelp
All that's open on Christmas is Chinese food so I found myself here after the wait was too long at Tea Cup. Well it was still an hour here. I rushed over because I thought they said it was a 15 minute wait. Whoops. 50 was the word. It was fine, just got the family combo 3. Decent amounts of food and it was about $50 with tip for two of us. It tastes like typical Chinese. There was some stuff I hadn't tried before like the ribs. I wouldn't have tried those if they weren't in the combo. Nice and fatty. Wonton soup is always good and they put a decent amount of shrimps in there. Tea Cup is a little cheaper but I don't think you get as much food for the combo. But they have different stuff on their combos. I feel like Tea Cup is the standard for Chinese in midtown area since it's so old, that's why I mention it. I'd be willing to bump my rating up if I tried it again because the servers seemed a little stressed out with all the Christmas business.

Yelp
When I saw my usual dim sum place in Sac was closed, we decided to try Ming Dynasty. I had previously tried some dishes from here for dinner, but hadn't tried their dim sum. Now that I have, I can confirm I wouldn't return for the dim sum again. The Xiao Long Bao was terrible; there was no soup inside, it was completely dry. Siu Mai was alright, as were the Fried Shrimp Balls and Har Gao. I don't think you can really mess those up too much. I left the restaurant not feeling full because I wasn't enjoying the food; I didn't want to keep ordering food that I didn't like just for the purpose of filling my stomach. They seemed to just be circling with the same three carts/items going around. The selection wasn't as large as their menu, but you can special order things (but I believe it comes at a higher cost). The owner is welcoming and helpful. He came to chat with our table when we dined in for dinner, so I recognized him when he came by and asked if we needed something when we were there in the morning for dim sum. While there are some dim sum items that were fine, I think everything here doesn't stand out as spectacular...but I understand why you may end up here, options for dim sum in Sac are pretty limited (as far as I know).

Yelp
This is our typical dim sum spot we always visit in sac! They offer all day dim sum and even have their own parking, thank goodness. Service was fine too although we did go on a slower day. I was so happy we found piggy dumplings! Been wanting try and this was the first place we found that sells it daily.
