Review for MingHin Cuisine ⭐️⭐️ Visited yesterday 01/03/2026 for my birthday. My son and daughter treated me—party of three, bill over 100.00. The food itself was fresh, well-prepared, and served hot, so credit where it’s due. However, the service was unacceptable and completely overshadowed the experience. We were never given plates and had to ask. The Pepsi was clearly watered down—you could see it just by looking at the glass. I brought this to the waiter’s attention, and it was never replaced. The worst issue happened with our leftovers. When I got home, I discovered the waiter had thrown all remaining food into couple mixed container: Fried shrimp with meatballs dumped on top also Shrimp fried rice mixed with extra white rice Different dishes combined together, making the leftovers inedible. This showed complete carelessness and disrespect, especially considering the cost of the meal and that this was a birthday celebration. Good food does not excuse poor service. I expected much better handling, especially for a restaurant of this reputation. Disappointed.

Google
Great experience overall! The beef tenderloin, sesame chicken, fried rice, Peking duck, Duck wings in pepper sauce and drinks were all awesome. Very crowded and packed to the brim on Christmas Eve. Service was great and attentive, and the atmosphere felt warm and inviting. It’s a solid spot for casual dining with friends or family. Would definitely come back!

Google
Dim sum is always a plus. Try to sit away from the wind because people smoking outside will drag it into the building. The service is quick and attentive. Get a variety and try it all! That’s the best way to do dim sum.

Google
Clean, fairly priced, modern decors , fast pace, friendly and attractive service. Nice layout. Tablet/ paper menu both were offered along with hoisin sauce, chili sauce and soy sauce once we seated. Nicely balanced pork belly with crispy skin goes well with hoisin sauce (haven’t try it with sugar). Steamed bean curd rolls, Beef fries, Chive dumplings and shrimp dumplings were flavored and cooked on point . Dumplings warped perfectly, none of them broken when pick up. Siu long bao (steamed mini pork dumplings) with extremely clear broth was bland and fluffy fillings . Each bao wrapper sticks to the foil cup when pick up. Siumai needs more seasonings. Bbq pork crepes was bland, but the crepes were nicely smooth to enjoy and the sauce makes it a little bit better. Tender and crisp Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce served hot. Aromatic Egg Noodles with soy sauce was perfectly seasoned. Recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at MingHin, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly, and the atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy. The menu was extensive, offering a fantastic variety of dim sum dishes that showcased both classic favorites and innovative twists. The service was impeccable; our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, making great recommendations. The dishes arrived quickly, hot, and beautifully presented. The attention to detail was evident in every bite. Overall, MingHin offers an unforgettable dim sum experience. Whether you’re a seasoned dim sum lover or a first-timer, this place is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back again soon! Highly recommend!

Google
Absolutely my favorite spot to eat! I’ve been here so many times that this review is overdue. We ordered the following: cucumber salad, pork soup dumplings, short ribs with honey sauce, stir-fried noodles with soy sauce, and salted and peppered Japanese tofu. I have tried the majority of their dim sum menu before, and they are all quite good! I have nothing bad to say about this place; the food is excellent, they are very accommodating when it comes to making changes to the menu, and all the service is great! I highly recommend this place.

Google
Beef tenderloin with maggi sauce tastes great. For the cost the food is good. Service is pretty quick. staff are attentive Atmosphere is peaceful but slightly unfriendly. It is surprisingly not loud in here

Cheng C.

Google
The egg tofu and stir-fried fish fillets with scallions were both delicious. The pork belly stir-fried with vegetables had crispy roasted pork, which was also very tasty. The short ribs were a bit chewy and difficult to bite for elder but they were also very flavorful. The staff were quick and friendly, and we had a great dinner time.

Yelp
There are several Ming Hins in the Chicago area, and this one in Naperville is one of the best. It certainly has the best service as there are at least a dozen servers standing around waiting and watching for someone to call them over (our teapot was never empty). You come to King Hin for the dim sum, and it does not disappoint. There are dozens of items to choose from and they are all good.

Yelp
I enjoyed the food at this Minghin location. All of the shrimp dishes we ordered tasted fresh and quality was good. They have an expansive menu with plenty of dim sum items as well as the typical Chinese dishes incorporating flavors from various Chinese regions. The restaurant is huge, more simply decorated compared to the ones in the city but the food is similar. I came on a Saturday night but it didn't feel crowded at all with plenty of tables available. They were well staffed and we were being frequently checked on.

Yelp
Beef stir fried chow mein is one of my favorite dishes and this place nailed it. Its doesn't get more simple than this. I appreciate when places don't over fill the dish with veggies and is more noodle heavy. This dish was so good, I ate here twice in one week while I was in town for work. Both times did not disappoint and the dish was consistent. I found the price pretty reasonable. $17 for this dish where the portions could definitely feed 2 people or have enough for dinner and left overs the next day for 1 person. Either way, worth it. Ordered take out and they were on top of things giving me sauces without needing to ask and the placed it in separate containers so it wouldn't spill. Very thoughtful! Happy to have found this place, and excited to come back. This space is pretty big, great for big groups or Sunday lunch with the fam.

Yelp
Another great meal at MingHin. We ordered pork congee, potstickers, shrimp rolls, egg rolls, gai lan, beef chow fun & whole chicken with ginger & scallions. Everything was freshly made & flavorful! Beef was amazingly tender, rolls & potstickers had good filling. We look forward to returning each year when we are visiting relatives here.

Yelp
My family and I have eaten at this restaurant many times for dim sum. The food is so delicious. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. The service is excellent. I think it is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Chicagoland area. It does get crowded during the weekend, but we do get seated within a few minutes. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
google avatar

Myra Y.

Yelp
I have dined at this location as well as had takeout. Dim sum is always spot on especially with the cheung fun with shrimp and siu mai. Dining in I have experienced nothing but great service especially with a larger group. Takeout is mostly okay with the exception of some dishes that leaked out and should have been put in a sealed container. It's a bit pricey, so I would save it for a special treat.

Yelp
Many choices, beautiful venue good prices Duck rice noodles, vegetable excellent . Service quick and courteous

Yelp
My family and I have been coming to Ming Hin for about 6 years. The food is so authentic and delicious. We have ordered dim sum, weekday lunch specials and regular entrees. There's spacious parking, the decor is Chinese and elegant, and the service is quick. The staff are very nice. The restaurant has many tables and can seat a big group. Note that the weekends can be very busy. They have other locations like downtown, Chinatown and Rolling Meadows. I can't wait to go back again!

Yelp
Minghin is one of our favorite Chinese restaurants and we're so glad there's one in the Naperville area. The food is always consistently good; there hasn't been a time where we felt that the quality was sub-par, even with deliveries. They serve authentic Chinese and the menu is massive, so there's always something new to try if you want to mix it up. During our dine-in experiences, the staff has been great and the food come out quickly. Looking forward to our next visit! Best, Charlie

Yelp
Enjoying dim sum out in the suburbs! After leaving airport we were too tired to drive back into Chicago Chinatown area. What a great option that open late in Naperville. Quick and friendly service. Order by menu and items are brought out to you. Highly recommend! Plus there is an Hmart and Kura closeby. Restaurant is open and clean.

Yelp
I have had this place on my list to try for a while. Slightly disappointed, as I really wanted to love it. Best item was by far the Deep Fried Shrimp Rolls, followed by the Siu Mai, and Fried Rice. The Deep Fried Pork Dumplings were good but a bit too sweet for my taste. The Beef Balls and Pan Fried Vegetable Rolls are not something I would ever order again. Order came with various sauces as well as fortune cookies. A bit pricey in my opinion but interesting to try

Randy W.

Yelp
This Minghin location is keeping their standard high while other locations have declined. Staff rotations can hurt standards so could just be temporary. Thankfully, the Naperville location kept my taste buds happy. Unfortunately, once the 30+ dishes came, I was too eager to eat that I forgot to take more photos of each dish. If you like dim sum or Chinese food, you shouldn't be disappointed ;D

Yelp
The food here at MingHin is some of the best dimsum I've had then chance to try since moving to the suburbs of Chicago. I highly recommend everything but my favorite is the Japanese salt and pepper tofu! The staff is friendly and they are very quick with service, making sure your tea and water allow always full. It's a great space for a larger group and well designed for families with kids. If you're looking for dim sum or even for some really good Chinese, this is one of the best spots in Naperville.

Yelp
Our favorite Dim Sum in the suburbs. Love the shrimp/pork shumai and beef crepes. We ordered a variety of dim sum, stir fried clams, roast duck, Chinese spinach, mandarin fried rice and seafood pan fried noodles. Food was excellent, great service and restaurant was clean. Thank you

Yelp
So good! A must try authentic Chinese food in Naperville. I've tried the other one in Chicago, and it's my first time being here. Everything is perfect! People here are so nice.

Yelp
Delicious and great service even though it was packed Very knowledgeable staff makes it very enjoyable

Yelp
Best Chinese restaurant in the area! Wide variety of menu selections, including many, not typically seen in Chinese restaurants. Very nice decor and delicious food. Highly recommended.

Deboef G.

Yelp
Went for dim sum on a Sunday morning and it was totally worth the wait. The shrimp dumplings were plump and juicy, and the siu mai had great flavor. Everything came out hot and fresh, straight from the carts. I especially liked the BBQ pork buns they were soft and slightly sweet. The place was packed but service was surprisingly fast. Servers were efficient and kept the tea flowing. I'd definitely come back with friends to try more dishes.
google avatar

Yelp
Late "happy hour" lunch for three of us. Several dim sum plates were good. Chinese broccoli was good. MaPo tofu was edible, but vastly unauthentic; ginger and large chucks of nearly-uncooked carrots; no black beans, fermented bean paste, or Sichuan peppercorns. MaPo tofu was a big FAIL! I have had much more authentic MaPo tofu at the Chinese restaurant down the street, or even at Ming Hin Lakeshore East.
google avatar

Gary G.

Yelp
If you live in the area of Naperville, there is no need to hike to Chicago for excellent Hong Kong cuisine and Dim Sum. The restaurant is huge with plenty of seating and it beautifully decorated. The servers were quick and friendly. The food is authentic and with many good flavors. Next time I shall take pictures of the food.

Yelp
After reading through some reviews on Yelp and Google, some of them made me laugh out loud. I just wanted to clarify a couple of things, this place is not a Michelin star. Clearly, that person has never been to a Michelin star restaurant, because if you've ever been to one then you'll know. Secondly, this place is not fancy or super expensive. It depends on what you order. If you order like 10 dim sum items for only one person, then yeah it would be expensive. On the regular menu, the portions are ample and the prices are reasonable. On a side note, there are not many dim sum restaurants in Naperville, so this would be considered a specialty. If there were 2 other dim sum restaurants within 5 mins of each other, then Minghin's dim sum prices would probably be cheaper to compete. Parking is sufficient but if you go on the weekends or holidays, then yes it can get busy. Don't go on those days, go on a weekday or weeknight. Mon-Thurs would be ideal but Fri can be okay. If you must go on the weekend, then aim for 11 am. 12 pm and after, don't be surprised if it gets hectic. Service every time I went was average. I did not experience any racism or rude service. Food quality was always consistent each time I dined in or got takeout. You order with the tablet and the food comes out relatively fast and hot. This is not the restaurant's fault but I wished they had another entrance/exit. The main one can be a pain in the butt with frequent traffic coming off the tollway, you can't really turn left.

Yelp
when you need a late lunch and dim sum fix minghin is the chinese establishment for you we use to live in chicago chinatown retired in the suburbs there's minghin in chicago same great taste and service

Yelp
I had high hopes for Minghin Cuisine, but my recent visit was a bit disappointing! The restaurant itself is nice and the menu looks promising, but the overall experience didn't match the reputation. The food was just okay--some dishes lacked flavor, and a few arrived lukewarm! Service was also slower than expected; we had to wait quite a while to get attention even though the place wasn't very busy. Prices are on the higher side, so I expected a bit more consistency! I can see potential here, and maybe it was just an off day, but my visit didn't leave me wanting to come back right away.

Kim W.

Yelp
My first time here and I will be back! Authentic dim sum! More options in person than on the web menu. Delicious food!!!! Clean restaurant, great service....did I mention the food was DELICIOUS!!! Try some dim sum. The fried rice was great as well. I might even come back tomorrow!!!
google avatar

Yelp
An attractive Chinatown restaurant with very good food and a large menu . The egg foo young and Dim Sum are particularly noteworthy.
google avatar

Johnny R.

Yelp
From the outside to the interior, I can't say there is much that makes this place stand apart from other establishments. However, the food and prices are outstanding, with the exception of the sleep short rib. That dish was chewy than it should be, and the flavor was lacking. Each of the dumplings was delicious, cooked, and especially priced well. Don't hesitate to order anything other than the short rib on the menu. Additionally, if you've never had a pan-fried taro cake or would like to try an excellently prepared one, try this one. Taro is a root and can have a similar texture to a potato when cooked. The difference is in the slight sweetness. Service for this establishment was quick and well paced. We were never lacking with the food and could always order more when we needed it. I recommend this location.
google avatar

Yelp
Coming to Chicago, I really missed reasonably priced dim sum. My friend highly recommended Minghin Naperville because it's the best he's had. They have a parking lot, so parking is easy and free. The restaurant is big and has lots of seating options from tables to booths. You order on a iPad and the food comes out very quickly as they're ready. The service is great, the servers quickly removed plates as soon as they were cleared. Super attentive service! The dim sum is good and super cheap compared to the city. For three people, and about 10 dim sum our total was $67 before tips! I highly recommend making the drive to Naperville for well priced dim sum!

Yelp
Very nice looking restaurant, although the lighting could be dimmed (so bright!) since the chairs are peeling a bit. The food is delicious. Everything we had hit the spot. Loved the sweet and sour soup which you can't find much of around here for some reason. Orange chicken was so good as well. Great service. I'd definitely come back.
google avatar

Jeanette V.

Yelp
First the good: excellent food and service!!! Will be back soon. Next the bad: the place is aging. Atmosphere counts! Come on guys! Fix the broken lights outside. Clean the dining room chairs and repair the broken backing on those chairs. Just naming a couple of things as there's more. Stay on top of the bathrooms. Keep your place fresh and clean! Staff provides excellent service but they're so robotic. How about being more friendly and smile. And those rubber gloves touch everything. The staff should change them regularly. It's obvious they don't. But the food was good. The dishes came out fast and hot.
google avatar

Paul A.

Yelp
We have and Minghin on the radar screen for some time now and finally decided to give it a try. We ordered a selection of items for carryout and were disappointed with the food. The quantity and quality of ingredients were fine, it's just that the end result was flat and flavorless.
google avatar

Zeid S.

Yelp
I have to start this review with what my 5 year old said. She is very well traveled and we have taken her to many restaurants all over the world, but for whatever reason when we first got here she said that this is the fanciest restaurant she has ever been in. It definitely is not that; but it is quite good for a dine in experience although the tables and chairs are due for an upgrade. Also the lights should be dimmed as the place is too bright. The service was quick. It seems like there is an army of waiters waiting around and/or working. The food was good. My 8 and 5 year old loved all the dishes which is a hard thing to achieve. Their favorite was the orange chicken. Although when we reheated the left overs at home the next day they said they didn't like it and it was spicy. I think their food is best eaten the same day; the flavors and textures really degrade quickly for left overs which I found interesting for a Chinese place. Good value. I would come here again.
google avatar

Marc M.

Yelp
Wonderful dim sum experience. Order on an iPad as they don't have carts, and dishes come out as they are ready. Staff is quick and friendly. Overall the dishes here are close to the better spots in NYC. This location has become our go-to as it has slightly better service speed.
google avatar

Dennis S.

Yelp
One of the best Dim Sumsin the Chicagoland area ... it's a must try. Check this place out ... I liked it and you will probably too
google avatar

Reema G.

Yelp
Sadly didn't take any pictures but have been wanting to try out the Chinatown MingHin location and was surprised there's one in Naperville too. We got seated as soon as we came in. The restaurant itself is so big with lots of dining area and space. Almost everyone inside was Asian so you know the food is delicious! Ordering is a little confusing because you can either place your order through the iPad or tell your server. I recommend just telling your server. Food comes out as it's prepared and it's mostly family style. The portions are pretty big and the dishes come with your moneys worth of meat in it. Overall loved our experience and will be coming back!
google avatar

Shin M.

Yelp
I get the beef chow fun everytime even though it is just OK. It needs more flavor so I usually add soy sauce or hoisin. But the texture is right. Shrimp crepe amazing as usual Crysanthemum tea with sugar cubes is delicious Turnip cake is alright Xiao long bao only comes with 3 and in these weird aluminum containers- they're alright. $35+ tip and tax for the above. Enough for 2 people.
google avatar

Ava W.

Yelp
Elegant and spacious dining area. We went here for my birthday, and the menu is quite expansive - a bit overwhelming with so many options to choose from. The stand out dishes were all the vegetable dishes and the fried rice. They all had an amazing flavor, and were fresh. Service was OK but the amount of food we ordered and how large our party was it could have been better. There should've been more attention to the needs of our table, such as removing empty plates and trash from our table. I love the way the table top rotates around so no one has to reach over anyone to sample a particular dish. Price point was reasonable. I would return if I lived in the area but not a place I would go out of my way to get to.

Diana F.

Yelp
Food! Service and ambiance.the combination fridge rice excellent, soy fried noodles with chicken amazing, the shrimp Soup Mai, delicious!
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
The pork lo mein is the best I've ever had. Bunch of vegetables and the meat was SO tender. I can't wait to order again!
google avatar

Isha T.

Yelp
Firstly, the place ks beautiful, very spacious. It has a big parking. Second the food is so tasty and the quantity is more than enough. We were 2 people and can have for 3 meals. I lived the general Tso the most. Mango shake was good too. I loved the place and food. I recommend this place.
google avatar

Nikki L.

Yelp
I'm sorry but everything was so underwhelming. We got steamed meat balls, Xiang long bao, siopao, etc. everything was flavorless. The siopao barely had any meat in it. And the octopus was very very chewy. The service was also rude and inattentive. The decor was pretty okay. Extra star for that.
google avatar

Andrew E.

Yelp
Food was served hot and everything ordered was delicious. The ambiance was clean and spacious.

Rick R.

Yelp
Disappointed. Food was just ok and lacked flavor, been there before and food was good but staff created a bad experience. Waiters need to be trained in serving etiquette and have a friendly attitude. Have to earn your tip and make it a fun experience for patrons. -waiters served food by reaching across patrons meal, last thing I want is clothing or hair in my food cause you reached across instead of serving from side. - waiters not friendly, felt like they were not happy to be working - waiters not attentive and busy taking to friends - waiters dressed in cheap t shirt, saw only one waiter with a nice waiter style shirt. - food ehh need to put some love into it I gave ten percent which is very unlike me because I always give 20 but not this time and probably won't return. I blame the manager for not caring to do simple training and provide a basic nice appearance to cheap to by a nice waiter shirt.

James H.

Yelp
Ok. I just left Ming Hin and for some reason I decided to write this review. I like the food at Ming Hin. Not everything is good. But the dumplings and Chinese food is great. The men's bathroom needs to be cleaned better or re-modeled. You will know what I mean when you use it. It is small and dirty. The parking spaces on the side near main roads are not even. Meaning some parts of the ground are not even. Check it out.

Carrie P.

Yelp
The food is really good. We went there to celebrate a birthday in our family. We were in the room that was next to where they have private parties.
google avatar

Yelp
Hard to really be excited my last visit here. Granted it was during the holidays, and there's not much competition around - but really a big meh if you've got choices. Firstly, the wait here can be pretty dang long. Can't fault them for that, but it was disappointing to be told to wait 30min for a table, then after we order, we would be waiting an additional 60min for the food. Annnnd thenn, some of the dishes (like the shrimp dumpling came another 60min later, even after a few polite requests to check on it). So yeah, it could be 2.5 hours to get something you ordered after walking into the door - and also could explain where there are so many take-out orders to avoid this situation. Quality-wise, it was just alright. I literally noticed that I wrote a review a few years ago with the disappointing quality, but mainly came here because my mom wanted to. It's really possible that we're just ordering the completely wrong things, but looking around the other tables, it just seems like most people are getting standard stuff like combination fried rice and like, General Tso's chicken. Keep in mind, the "base" price for most items is $18 - even vegetable dishes. So you're better off getting entree with meat and vegetables versus just vegetables because they cost the same to you. Dim-sum-wise, there were a lot of stuff I'm allergic to so my options were limited. But yeah, the shrimp dumpling is good - the pork crepe is good. My brother recommended the tenderloin steak stirfry - but it was unusually bad tonight. The meat was partially raw with a weird taste and also the texture that my family agreed to was "squishy and chewy." I'm glad I got a safety dish of the chow mein with beef - although it wasn't great by any means, it was good enough to feel full (and ironically, the beef in this dish tonight was better than the "better cut" of the tenderloin). Overall, just really meh. Honestly would rather go to a mediocre Chinese place that's at least closer to our house and also cheaper than come here again. I think their strawberry smoothies are good though, but I didn't get one not because it's freezing but it just felt wrong getting a drink when the food was just so slow, sporadic, and then ultimately disappointing.

Yelp
Service is fast and ambiance is great What really blows this place out of the water is their AMAZING FOOD! seriously great dim sum and other dishes, just as good as their Chicago location too
google avatar

Jaci Y.

Yelp
It's really the only place for dim sum around here. And jelly fish and all eats Chinese food. I love their Japanese tofu and pea tip dish! I love their beef crepe dim sum dish! They hit the spot when I am missing Chinatown.

Yelp
Minghin takes over what used to be a Tex-Mex restaurant back when I was in high school in the 1990s. On the one hand, it's great to have authentic-ish dim sum in the west suburbs of Chicago; on the other hand, Minghin is not nearly as good as Mapo Restaurant one block away. I came and got a few dim sum items and wasn't overly impressed. The rice crepes ($7) were fine but nothing special; the vegetarian egg rolls were mushy and not flavorful. The mapo tofu is vegan by default ($10 for a lunch special) but doesn't taste like mapo. It was more like soft tofu in a brown stir fry sauce, which tasted fine. All told, Minghin is okay but go to Mapo for better food.
