The Best Bars For A First Date In SF

"When there are exactly zero bar stools available at Fool’s Errand and you need a NoPa date spot immediately, head to Mini Bar. The low-lit dive isn’t that mini at all—there’s an entire back area, plus seating in front and at the bar. Admire the local art on the walls while sipping on a margarita, petting whatever dog happens to be cozied up on a bar stool, and watching the 24 periodically roll by on Divisadero. It’s not too loud in here, so you can actually carry on a conversation with your date about upcoming vacation plans or whether you’re looking for “something serious.” " - lani conway, ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1

Mini bar is a gem on Divisadero. I come normally on Wednesday around 6:30 pm and Erin, this lovely, sparkly bartender is always nice and her drink are outstanding! Highly recommend it

Google
This is my favorite local bar. All the bartender's are super friendly and make a mean cocktail! The space is intimate with nice mood lighting, good music and good people (patrons included). Has a real neighborhood feeling about it as opposed to the Bro nightlife bars around it. You guys are a true beacon of hope on Divis 🙌

Google
I love this locals bar. Been here about as long as I've lived in the neighborhood, I think? 20 years!

Google
A great place for drinks. Intimate, with an excellent selection

Google
Great little neighborhood bar…popped in for a quick happy hour drink while waiting for our college son to arrive to his apartment two doors down. Bartender Winston crafted me a MEAN DiSarrono sour…reasonable prices & a super chill vibe.

Google
Very local bar. Small and intimate with a nice couch area at the front and a back room that (I heard) they’re about to redecorate. Plus they have good cocktails that are affordable without tasting cheap. I had a good Paloma. Went here with two friends, and I will be back!

Daniel Jones

Google
Super rude bartender giving me an attitude the minute I walk in, almost like he's trying to impress his usual patrons. I'll never set foot in there again.

Hannah Chung

Google
Strong xenophobic vibes multiple times. Female Bartenders intentionally ignore me several times. Atmosphere is very racist, esp if you’re a female POC. Highly do not recommend supporting this business..

Yelp
Great drinks, great atmosphere, attentive bartenders. I almost don't want to leave a good review so it stays more lowkey ;)

Yelp
This little gem is a neighborhood must, the interior lead into a narrow aisle, but the seating is comfortable. They have a small room in the back too, so it can definitely house a good size group! Their drinks selections are great and service is excellent leading by their awesome manager Erin! Their rotational art show is a wonderful attraction with curated pieces on display for sale. I can't wait to head back for another visit soon!

Yelp
A nice neighborhood bar with a great choice of cocktails and a chill vibe. They have art on the wall that can be purchased. The staff is very nice and it's easy to get a drink. They also take credit cards.

Yelp
Shout out to Erin our bartender, super cute & friendly, very attentive. We ordered La Bruja which I believe might be a seasonal drink created by another bartender. It's a combination of Tequila, mezcal, passion fruit & lime. I ordered mine as is, my sister ordered hers with just mezcal. Just mezcal, is the way to go in my opinion & when we ordered the second round, we asked the new bartender to add tajin to the rim & that just took it to the next level, in my opinion. Can't wait to be back to try the other drinks.

Yelp
A friend and I had just finished dinner and were looking for a nightcap when we found Mini Bar SF! Nothing crazy but there were quite a few people in when we were there, probably regulars. The walls were studded with local art for sale, there was chatter throughout the bar, and a playlist that was all over the place. Some dive bars aren't so great with cocktails, I usually lean towards shots or canned or bottled beers. But the drinks weren't bad at all, properly chilled and in proper portions. We ordered a few rounds of Old-Fashioned's and Boulevardiers each and enjoyed chatting with each other in a low-key setting. Overall, great experience! Wouldn't mind going back if I were back in the area.

Yelp
After dinner, my group of four stopped by Mini Bar. We arrived in Friday, August 10th around 10pm. The bar is fairly small and it was super crowded, so we just stood by the bar. Ended up getting the Cocktail of the Week, which was the Hanky Panky: buffalo trace, luxardo cherry liqueur, lemon ($9) and a few Makers Mark Manhattans: served up garnished with luxardo cherry ($9). Unfortunately, because it was so crowded, we just had the round and left. We wanted something a little more chill and this spot was too loud and boisterous for us. Plus, there was no open seating. True to it's name as it's a mini / small bar. I like more laid back lounges, so this wasn't really my scene. Maybe on a slower night, but on a Friday, it was too crowded for me.

Yelp
This place is awesome! I know the owner and he is a legit SF local who cares about his community and created a chill bar vibe.

Yelp
This is the definition of a neighborhood bar! You'll get a few looks coming in here if you aren't a regular but there's no malice to it just the fact that you can instantly tell that 95% of people in here are religious regulars. However, the staff is super welcoming, that also includes their dog AB who really was the perfect finishing touch to this establishment. I ordered the Fig'ure it out cocktail which had fig and tequila so I was instantly sold, and my boyfriend ordered a beer with a Negroni. I loved my cocktail so much that I ordered it twice. The name is very meta, it is a mini bar but I didn't mind - I love places like this! There is a back sitting area and a few places to sit at the front and of course at the bar so finding a seat wasn't a probably. Additionally, the music they played here was great -- old school, hip hop vibes! I would highly recommend stopping in here before heading out to dinner or just on your way home if you live in the area!

Yelp
A great friendly neighborhood bar. Great people on both sides of the bar top. I moved out of the neighborhood many years ago but still go out of my way to stop in once and awhile.

Yelp
Sitting here solo, sipping on a Moscow Mule and watching the regulars have a regular old time. Lovely neighborhood vibe, with a wide selection of cocktails, beers, and liquor.

Yelp
It's like going back 20 years in this city. Actually great music. Cool people. Simply a great bar. I love everything about this place. May many more follow the path of these folks.

Yelp
I'm surprised there aren't many bars around this section of Divisadero. In any neighborhood I'm in, I strive to visit all the popular spots. Mini Bar SF was a typical dive bar, and my experience was a little disappointing. Not sure what I expected, but the reviews on Yelp are generally positive. For starters, there's not much space in here, and the bench seating (though well-cushioned) is all tattered. Keep walking deeper into the bar to find the small space where the bartender resides. He was dismissive on our visit, but it was a slow Sunday, so I guess I can't blame him. That day, there was a matador cocktail special with tequila, lime, and pineapple. Right up my alley. Also our high school mascot was a matador, so I felt obligated. Overall the vibe is super chill, the music is fun, and it's dog friendly. Not a bad bar, but not a great one either. I'm guessing almost everyone in here is a regular that lives close by.

Yelp
Jo and Enki are super nice. I didn't know this bar is hitting their 10th year anniversary. They're pretty cool and hella friendly. I'll definitely go back!

Yelp
From the minute you walk in the door you know you're in good hands. The service, vibe and drinks in this bar are incredible. Thank you, Mini Bar.

Yelp
The stars must have been aligned. Even though the bartender was way too young to know such classic rock, her playlist said the opposite. When she shared with us that this was indeed her personal playlist, we were awed. From the Doors to Joni Mitchell, this mixologist knew her craft as well as her classic rock. Very cool. The martinis were chilled beautifully, shaken and served up with a twist. The vibe is neighborhood- y mellow. The art work on the wall added to the local, SF ambiance. So glad to have found you Mini Bar SF. "You're just what I needed" tonight. (The Cars) Clap! Clap! Clap!

Yelp
This is a great little neighborhood bar, sort of your Diviz Dive bar here on Divisadero. Has a few booths up front, a room in the back, and a bar in the middle. Mostly regulars and neighborhood types. They make strong drinks at low prices. We had a Hendricks Tonic and Johnny Walker on ice for $15 total, on a Sunday evening. They had an everyday HH until 7pm special: PBR and a shot of Jamison for $8! With that combo and price, could skinny jeanned, beanie chapeau'd hipsters be far away? Actually, there were some in here already!

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover. Teeny but mighty, this bar is the epitome of a local neighborhood bar resting just north of NOPA and next to Western addition. Located here makes it a perfect stop for a mix of people to pop through and gives it more character than other hottie toddy bars further up the Waylon divis. Full bar with relatively cheap drinks (Although my bartenders, who were both super nice, charged me different prices for the same libation ($10 then $8 for a Negroni.)). TVs next to the bar, a couple of couches and standing room, with local art lining the walls and motown playing lightly on the speakers. It was a nice environment to come to after some other bar hopping on divis. Total neighborhood dive bar, and I dig it.

Yelp
So I'm here Thursday late afternoon (5:00 pm.) Came in to check out this "mini bar." 7 men sitting at the small bar (an epic Warriors game is coming on at 6pm). A long, freshly-vinyled bench seat with 3 table tops available. Low-level volume Punk Rock music playing in the background. I didn't like the drink special for the evening, only one...whiskey-based something. I asked the bartender... are there any other drink specials? She asked, "What's your liquor of choice?" I said vodka. She says, "I can make you a vodka, Ginger liqueur, squeeze of this, squeeze of that and it's delicious." I said yes. Yes x's 3. It was refreshing and delicious ($9 each). Her name, Annie. A wonderful lady who made me feel comfortable as an older female patron solo in the bar and a great mixologist. Other notations...very dig friendly, very local bar, music changes from Punk to Jazz, to Rockabilly.

Yelp
Great space, but rude bartender. I visited Mini Bar in the early-ish evening on a Sunday and it was fairly empty. I sat at the bar, asked for a grapefruit juice with well tequila, and the bartender essentially shamed me. He basically said "you don't want that" and his friend sitting at the bar laughed. I wouldn't order well liquor if I planned to sip, but it's perfectly acceptable in mixed drinks. Especially if you're only having one. I don't know why he thought he could talk down to me--perhaps if I were an older male customer he would have been more courteous. Maybe he was just a total snob or trying to make a few more dollars (as my bartender friend mused when I relayed the story)--maybe both. At any rate, I was uncomfortable and won't be back. As another reviewer said, who apparently was also mocked for no reason, there are plenty of other bars with better service.

Yelp
You know I love this hood! I will always have mad love and respect for this hood, my old stomping grounds! There are super friendly bartenders (and thanks for carding me! WOOT)! There are beers on tap, beers by the bottle, wine and bubbly and some other spirits, too! Prices are quite reasonable and won't break the bank. It's a cozy and friendly neighborhoody place, where 1 or maybe 2 or 3 may know your name. If not, everyone here is so casual and chill, you could strike up a convo with someone new. Seating in the front and back lounge area with few tables, and about 10 bar stools at the bar. You may see a dog or two, here, as it's pet friendly. What is there not to love? I've only been here during the weekdays, so can't speak to how it is on Friday or Saturday nights. I'll be back Mini Bar! Cheers and hope to see y'all there soon! Happy 2016!

Yelp
This place is the cutest most efficient little bar around! Miss little places like this for a good late night cocktail with some friends!

Yelp
It's been awhile, but Mini Bar is still holding strong and still just as inviting and charming. I adore that despite the intimate size of Mini Bar, that you can still hear yourself and your friends. Their back lounge area is absolutely adorable and so what's up. With casual laid back couch seating, it's such a divine secluded space for gathering with a bigger sized group. Mini Bar really captures Divisadero street beautifully. The crowd is always mellow and diverse and I appreciate they still display local art and have built up a true local following since their opening a couple of years back. Mini Bar's garnered big love in this hood. Trust.

Yelp
Nice neighborhood bar. Good drink specials daily. I went tonight, and while it started slow (at 5PM) it picked up nicely by 7PM. They had Pliney the Elder bottles (16 oz) for $4 a pop - good deal. The well drinks and beers were also a buck off during happy hour. The crowd started mellow, locals, but grew nicely. I ended up chatting up the girl next to me that was from the same tiny town as me, and had a good time. Overall, this place is very nice. Summer, the bartender, is extremely sociable and makes a good drink. Reason enough to come for a few. And the close proximity to the Independent makes it nice.

Yelp
A quick stop for a beer while we were waiting to eat. A quaint little bar. The place was clean and the service was quick. No loud music so it was the perfect place to sit and talk. Average prices for drinks. If your looking for a place to grab a drink this is the place!

Yelp
Meh. We came here late one night while looking for something open and not too crowded. I always like to ask bartenders at cocktail bars to surprise me with something good. I've never had an issue at Rye, Redford, or similar cocktail bars with that request. Most bartenders see it as a way to be creative and try something different. You would have thought I asked this girl to solve a quadratic or something-- deer in the headlights. Don't put "cocktails" on your window if your bartenders don't feel comfortable making them. Drinks are cheap...lots of bottled beers, maybe 5 on tap? There's cool local art on the walls at least. Very narrow space. A back room with couch and some chairs. Clientele is white, hipster, tattooed, pierced, etc.

Yelp
I think Mini Bar opened shortly before I moved to NOPA, and whenever I'm doing the bar scene on Divis I attempt to stop in here, but the place is always so crowded (I guess that means they're doing something right!). Well, I had a friend in town this past weekend who insisted on drinking hard alcohol for her birthday, so we went this past Sunday. Luckily, the place wasn't crowded and we were able to sit at a table. I really like the loungy feel this place has & it's a big plus that they serve (high quality) hard alcohol, unlike most places in the neighborhood. I thought the drinks we had were decently priced ($7 for Makers & De Serrano), especially considering they have virtually no competition from other bars and could probably charge a buck or two more per drink if they really wanted to. I'm not sure how often the bouncer who was there on Sunday works the door, but he was great! He was very friendly (he took several pictures for my friend's birthday) and even played a little harmonica for us. Even though we were there on a Sunday and the place closed at midnight, I did notice that they stay open 'til 2 on Friday & Saturday. This should be a standard thing, but I have noticed that some bars in this neighborhood close early on weekends, so this made me happy when I saw this. I really liked this place, and I may even be willing to the brave the crowd to stop in for a drink or two in the future :)

Yelp
Mini Bar is totally under the radar in a busy flourishing neighborhood. The gentrification of the Divisadero corridor has left the established bars alone for the most part. When you walk in to Mini Bar you get a funky cross section of the people in the hood. Some older, some younger but really just never know. The last time we went in the bar tender was making Paloma (grapefruit ,salt, lime juice, sugar, club soda and tequila) for someone else and it looked great. I see people complaining about the drinks not being good and this being a dive bar. It's all true to some degree. They have only a few beers on tab but the beers they have are good. It's a dive of a bar and its perfect. The bartender knows how to make good drinks, there is usually not a huge crowd and the music isn't too loud. You could have a nice conversation, a couple drinks and life is good. And it's not expensive.
google avatar

Cath M.

Yelp
Wow this bar is really "mini!" Sis and I went here after dinner at Bar Crudo. Place was packed from the street festival. I had to literally squeeze my way onto the bar to get our drinks. One plus = they serve Hanger One (the original) so I got my usual: OJ + Hanger One and sis had a Guiness. Total for our two drinks: $14! Yah I was shocked! In SF, $14 for two drinks - WOW! We chatted with some Europeans (very intense discussion about Pottery Barn!) and once my bro-in-law arrived, we left. Will probably stop by here again when we're out roaming this district.
google avatar

Natalie B.

Yelp
I love this funky place! It's become our go-to before a night out, or just to hang. It's relaxed and friendly, and the drinks are strong and delicious. Try the margarita -- you won't be disappointed. Overall, a great neighborhood dive bar. Friendly bartenders, too (we especially like Clay!).
google avatar

George K.

Yelp
It seemed like a nice little hole in the wall place, but the bartender (Paul) wouldn't serve our ladies because he disagreed with a civil political conversation they had with another customer. Furthermore, instead of just being honest and giving us the true reason he wouldn't serve them, he accused them of being drunk. Pretty lame.
google avatar

Claudine V.

Yelp
Good stiff drinks, friendly bartenders, love that you can bring your fluffy loved ones with you while you grab a glass of your favorite drink. For a Friday night, it was still low key and few places to sit. I would definitely give this place another shot for another shot!! FYI - parking is terrible around this neighborhood. I should have taken a cab or a muni!!
google avatar

Axel B.

Yelp
Sportsbar-ambience, good for baseball and basketball fans... The whole insider is illuminated by the gigantic flat screen that successfully kills any kind of comfortable atmosphere. Especially since all other lights are kept super dim. Which is a pity since one has problems really seeing the plenty of artworks on the walls in the flickering light of the ongoing baseball game... The second star only because the do serve ok sized drinks.
google avatar

Gustavo V.

Yelp
Seemed like a good place to grab a drink. Unfortunately, the bartender (Paul) didn't seem to like the vibe our girls brought into the place, being that it was Fourth of July and our girls decided to be a bit patriotic and for some reason the bartender didn't appreciate it. So he refused to serve the girls any drinks because he thought our girls were to intoxicated, but in reality he wasn't comfortable with our girls patriotism that night. Pretty petty if you ask me def won't be returning here anytime soon.

Yelp
Soooo....I was driving by one night and almost crashed trying to do a triple-take on what new bar had popped up on Divisadero next to Bar 821! I pulled a u-turn and had to run in! It's very cute, cozy, intimate and plain cool. This place has been open for 2 weeks the owner tells me-I sat at the bar and the bartender made me an awesome raspberry lemondrop-one of my favorite cocktails. THe atmosphere here is very friendly-I didn't dive too much into the signature cocktails, but the drink I had was perfect enough. Bathrooms are CLEAN (Whooo-hooo!!) The art on the wall is cool and I love the lil "champagne" room in the back ha! I would definitely come back here-I always appreciate new spots-never a dull day in SF ;)

Ann B.

Yelp
Such a neighborly feeling. Owner is so cool. Have a cocktail and then a quick jaunt down the street to Madrone on the corner of Divisadero and Fell on Sunday night at about 9 and you can hear the best jazz in SF.
google avatar

Yelp
I like Mini Bar. The mini bottles of booze at the top of the bar are cute and what I'm assuming to be the reference for the name since the place itself is not so small. Even on a bustling Friday night, we were able to pull up a seat at the bar. It wasn't so loud that we couldn't hold an intimate conversation, even at the bar. The mojitos we ordered were fresh and tasty. The bartender even offered to sweeten up mine on the spot if it was a little too tart. On round #2 of ordering or round #5+ of drinking [We'd had several rounds earlier in the night.], one of the ingredients in the drink I ordered wasn't readily available, so she improvised. It's nice to walk into a place, knowing that they care about the drinks they are serving. If I lived in the area, I'd visit regularly and make it my mini bar... Drinks aren't ridiculously priced. I'd also get my grubby fingers on the Pirate's Booty too.

Mich L.

Yelp
It's one thing to dislike a customer for some mysterious reason, and another to completely humiliate them in front of other customers. The bartender mocked me (Donald Trump style) when I asked to close out my tab. There are other bars down the street where, chances are, you can actually enjoy yourself and not leave feeling like half a person.
google avatar

phil h.

Yelp
Mini Bar, Maxi Fun! I dig this place. You can call it the Little Star waiting room or a pre-party spot before a show at the Independent...either way, it's a cool space packed mainly with locals (Hi Gabe!) that not only features a full bar but also rotating art on the walls. Good stuff, I'll be back.
google avatar

Nish N.

Yelp
Ugh, I promised some folks who live in the neighborhood that I'd give Mini Bar another chance, so I checked it out for a bit on a relatively busy Saturday night. I was able to get the bartender's attention pretty quickly, and he was actually pretty cool; I ordered a Kettle One & Soda for my friend and a Hendrick's Martini (up with 2 olives) for myself. I guess he had to run an errand because he then stepped out of the bar and another person made my martini. Again, she was nice enough, but at nearly $8 per drink, I was expecting a perfectly made cocktail. Instead I got a version that was at once too dirty and too sweet. Maybe I'm used to drinking at Absinthe or NOPA, but to me a martini is that classic that just has to be done right. If you do go, try and go early and get the front booth, seems like a good spot to enjoy a few drinks with friends.

Yelp
after the disappointment that was previously hailed as one of the best fights of the century...(you go golden boy promotions!!!) it was necessary to find some real entertainment tonight in nopa. the options discussed were- flybar, 821 and minibar. all spaces are tight and not so great for a decompression forum amongst the 7 of us, we went with minibar cos it has more than just beer and soju. the crowd was not so mixed, but everyone seemed pretty cool and i was immediately greeted by the cool tender chica that was already serving two other patrons. lori, dan and chest were able to jump on the tight little booth area near the door as a party was leaving and we nestled in nicely tho once our other three compadres made it there, two of us were standing while the rest were chillaxin in comfort. the sapphire tonics made were hella strong but still tasty. we all roamed on topics from joy division to geto boys to the eventual return of grunge then to the whole rockband phenomenon...we all couldn't help but continually put all of our attention to the photography on the wall, supposedly from a past Playboy shooter...and thx again friend for making us all throw up in our mouth a lil by talking about the model being a tucked dood, not a woman..ewwww i was just happy to be surrounded by my pals on a fine sf evening and to top it off i noticed The New(interpol) playing in the background..YEAHYAH!! sommer, one of the owners cruised by to chatty chat and pick up empties...again suuper-fly staff!

Yelp
I absolutely love that Mini Bar is right down the street from my house. Although I'm not a regular (and I can tell that they definitely do have their regulars), the place is a gem to have in the neighborhood. Initially self-advertised as "the only full bar for awhile", the bar is not limited to the beer/sake selection that Fly Bar, 821, and other bars in the area are limited to. The service is awesome- the bartender lady (who Ialways seems to be working everytime I come through) is on point and very attentive to her patrons. Several times, they've had a recession friendly drink special for people on a budget- the last one I can remember was a pabst and jameson shot (I think) for something like $5 - $8. Great value, and definitely helps me convince my friends who are trying to watch their spending to grab a drink on a tuesday night. Big plus: You could get 4505 chicharonnes as a bar snack for $3.50.

Yelp
4.5 stars! I'm slowly falling in _.O.V.E with this place. We stopped in quickly to decompress after work before heading out to dinner. A great, funky and cute crowd much like the neighborhood. Lots of daily happy hour specials and as always comfy booths and friendly barkeeps. I totally man-browsed on the DL and noticed that there were many cute single boys in attendance(tuesday night) I totally wanted to call one of my very fun and very single BFFs' to meet us and scope out the scene. But alas, we were only there for one round :( Next time I'll drag her along. . . .
google avatar

Katherine B.

Yelp
This place is too hip for me but they let me in the door anyway :) The bartender was extremely helpful in assisting me with a low or zero calorie drink option. I ended up with a Vodka Soda and the scale still went down this morning! According to her it is what the Queens and Models in NYC drink. Take it from her, she knows what she's doing. My friend had a mixed drink of some complex sort she was able to whip up splendidly. I cant wait to come back. This place is exactly what I want in my neighborhood bar.

Yelp
Who can resist the lure of the Mini Bar? All of those pretty bottles...funny snacks... Not me. This is my favorite new bar in the city. We've been a couple of times and it has just the right vibe: unpretentious, neighborhood-y, various choices of seating arrangements, local art. Excellent Women's restroom. This is a long bar, so you have to keep your body to one side and keep the pathway in mind. Do this, and you can park yourself indefinitely for a fun and fairly chill evening. Even when full, you can still hear your companions. Key. The location is right across the street from Little Star Pizza (mmmm), and unlike Bar 821 which I do like, it is a full, hard alcohol-laden, bar. If you need this, you know who you are, and will be as happy as we were to have this option in this neighborhood. Something for everyone, and a good beer selection which I always appreciate. Now, don't you all go crowding this bar up as I intend to patronize it frequently and don't want to have to fight for space, but feel free to visit when you are in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Whenever I'm in the area I always drag whomever I'm with here! Always a great selection of art from local artists, and great bartenders who are always on top of their game. Last time I was here I had a "strawberry lemonade" drink with white rum. OMG. I had two of those and I was done! However I guess it's not on the menu because I've been before and a few of the bartenders had no idea what I was talking about. plenty of seating, decent bathrooms, and a cute little back room with christmas lights and some interesting mixed media pieces right now. Decently priced drinks and a great atmosphere!

Yelp
Mmmm...mmmm...mmm... how I love me some Mini Bar. The owners are all amazing and hangout on a daily bases. They also support local business and are trying to make sure there are no problems or loud drunk folks hanging outside their bar (except for me of course). I don't know what it would be like without the doorman. Some folks seem to be hating but I love it. I won't drink beer there (that's what I got 821 for) but damn if I don't have a few double jack and coke in a pint glass with a lime! I just wish I could wake up early enough on a Saturday or Sunday to try one of their bloody mary's. I know Molly heads down to the farmers market each morning for fresh vegetables. Hmmm... maybe they should start making wake up calls? Holla atcha boy! MMMMmm....mmmm....mmm.... how I love me some Bar, Mini!

Yelp
Liquor on Divisidaro close to my house. It has a cute room in back for a more intimate gathering...and we got a makers rocks and a vodka soda for $11. Pretty reasonable. And who doesnt love mini things. The decor is sexy, the couches are leather, and there is local art on the walls.... Everytime I pass by, its never crazy packed either, which makes it much more inviting for me...

Yelp
it certainly is Mini. The place bottle-necks easily but folks are pretty nice so it's rare you'll get rammed by a chrome bag or over-sized "put a bird on it!" tote. I adore Molly, she is always very sweet always says hello and serves you quickly. Everyone that works there is very nice and laid back. I do not recommend getting a Trumer if they are still serving them in the test tube-looking glasses. Because the bar is small and people gotta push past you they are a prime target for getting spilled. Often there is really nice art there, if it's cheesy or awful it's usually because the owners are giving locals a break...and come on, in a town like SF, that's a really kind thing to do.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood bar and I love all the bartenders. So much fun to stop by after work, say hi, and have a drink. I will come and hang out for hours (alone or with coworkers) or just take a quick drink and everyone is always so nice and fun to talk to. If I ever leave the city this will be a bar I will remember along with all the bartenders, a cool old-vibe SF bar.

Yelp
It's taken me too long to stop in here, given that it's now the closest bar to my house. (about .3 miles, according to Google Maps. I could walk that even if I've lost one of my shoes.) It took Nadja M. who now lives in New York flagging me down on the sidewalk to get me to finally try it. I am a terrible local. But you know what Mini Bar's got? A full liquor license, cool bartenders (Drew knows his stuff, and has convinced me to give Rye whiskey a second chance), a nicely decorated space, and comfortable seating, and friendly regulars instead of smug aloof hipsters that some of the other neighborhood bars are still sporting. Not at all like drinking alone in a hotel room, like you have to with most other mini bars. Except that you can't get away with refilling the gin and vodka bottles with tap water.
