Being passionate about dark chocolate, I spotted this shop on the review made by the website damecacao on Tokyo chocolate makers. I bought 3 chocolate tablets and drank one hot chocolate drink. There are a lot of positives in my review. First, I was super happy to find in Tokyo very dark chocolate tablets, meaning 90% cocoa. In Japan, it is often hard to find dark chocolate above 70%. They have two types of 90% cocoa bars, one being a kind of Ciiccolate di Modica although much more refined. Second, the packaging is really nicely done with a lot of information. lt reminds me of the Geneva based Orfeve tablet bars (see a previous review). Unfortunately, the info in Japan is different from what you can find in Europe, and it makes it hard to compare European and Japanese chocolate bars. Third, their matcha chocolate tables is exceptional... possibly the best in the world high flavour that remains for quite a long time on your palate. Not too high in sugar killing matcha taste, unlike many other matcha chocolate bars (and yes I do not like sugar) especially in Europe. The quality of macha is also definitely higher. Fourth, the tablet has been very well designed with smaller and bigger bits and also exhibits different surfaces (flat or striped). It reminds me of the Zurich based Garçoa tablet design. What could be improved? The hot chocolate drink was very intense in taste. Unfortunately, they have only one choice, which is quite limited.

It was a violent experience. We have never tried the chocolate ice cream as exquisite as this. We got the chocolate ice cream & financiers, and safe to say I was gobsmacked by the sheer richness & exquisite flavor of the whole thing. I don't believe I can go back to normal chocolate ice cream after eating this. Absolutely amazing!

We stumbled upon this spot one evening trying to find a place to sit down during the crazy wind. Their hot chocolate was sooo rich and wonderful. It wasn’t too sweet and it was very comforting. The place is small, people come and go a lot. Most people pick up their stuffs and leave but there are a few seating spots available.

APRIL 2023 Visited this specialty chocolate store and ordered the parfait and chocolate soda. The drink was light and refreshing; combining rich chocolate with citrus flavor. The parfait uses cacao beans from various regions around the globe to make different components of the parfait such as the chocolate ice cream, biscuit crumble and sauce. It was not too sweet and the strawberry jelly added a fruity tartness, pretty tasty. The staff was happy to explain when I had some questions about the menu items.

No need to review this excellent chocalate bar. Nobody's gonna describe the taste in words. Two cacao pule juice, one cake, one iced chocalate, one parfait, and four chocalate bars.

Visited today and had a delightful experience! The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The chocolate flight was a treat, offering a variety of textures and flavors. The parfait was perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. Would definitely recommend!

Sweet Heaven number 5: Minimal: A chocolate shop which focuses on the purity of chocolate. The flavours of their chocolate bars vary based on the countries where the cacao beans come from without any other ingredients which is amazing! We were lost on how we should start sampling and enjoying the coffee, but the warm and friendly staff stepped right in and guided us through their whole process and the ingredients used, helping us better understand their unique selling point and their awesome product. The ones we tried had a nutty taste, fruity taste and even herbal taste. Following that we tried the cacao fruit pulp drink which was made from the flesh of the cocoa fruit which is amazing. Light and refreshing with citrus and light dark chocolate notes. Last but not least, the crepe. It was made up of a rolled up crepe filled with a pastry cream of sorts, chocolate bits made from cacao beans from Bolivia which have it a citrusy flavour. Topped with a caramel ice cream, Apple cider jelly and toasted nuts for garnish. It went so well together, tasting nice and light when eaten with the cider jelly and the caramel ice cream was not too sweet giving it a nice balance. Artisanal chocolate in an awesome shop, what’s not to like? 8/10 for brilliant execution and uniqueness but not full marks because it’s an acquired flavour that only chocolate lovers would enjoy.

I visited a friend and saw this shop and bought some souvenirs for my daughters, friends and for me and my husband and for myself to eat in the train. I bought the chocolate sandwich cookies but when i tried to eat it in the train cant hardly bite the chocolate its very hard i almost broke my teeth. The cookies scattered all over my clothes , my question is for the one who made this sandwich cookies,"have you tried eating it before selling it"it was good but bad combinations. The cookies cracked and bits scattered all over , chocolate is too hard to bite. Im very disappointed with the hardness of the chocolate and the mess that cookie gives to my clothes. I dont recommend this sandwich cookies for gifts. I didnt try anything inside the shop but if i have a chance i would like to try some of their chocolates sometime.

Yelp
I came here after watching Kantaro Sweet Tooth Salaryman. It's a very small shop, but the staff was friendly to us. They didn't speak English, but we were able to communicate by pointing and saying "Thank you" in Japanese a lot :). The staff even went so far as to make room for us at the counter, where there originally was none. We got the chocolate tart, with ice cream on top. I was surprised when they sprinkled fresh ground black pepper on it... well actually, I was stunned. To my pleasant surprise, it tasted really good. The chocolate tart was really amazing, and the black pepper gave the ice cream a bit of a kick at the end. Really enjoyable.

Yelp
A chocolate junkie's story. I ended up lost in Shibuya on the hunt for Minimal's chocolate. After minutes of walking through dead ends, wrong turns, and the never ending distractions of Shibuya, we made it. You see, I love chocolates. I'll walk miles to try the bean to chocolate experience. I ended up buying Nutty Roasty from Honduras. Was it good? Yes. Imagine drinking a well made pour over, but in coffee form. This type of chocolate isn't for everyone, though. It's bitter, dark, and nutty. Was it worth getting lost in order to find this place? Yes. It's like exploring Tokyo and looking for a small piece of Japanese architecture with a mix of Danish design. Just be aware that this place is really expensive.

Yelp
Like the name suggest, the tiny space upholds a very minimalistic design with a bar table to sip some delicious chocolate drink. The beans are sourced from Tanzania, Vietnam, Columbia, Honduras, etc and they undergo a tedious process from roasting, winnowing to molding and packing. Samples of the chocolate bars are available and the date of production is labeled on each pack. Don't expect the bars to be as cheap as those from supermarkets as there are afterall, hand-made chocolates from scratch. But I think it is still worth the occasional splurge as they taste very different from brands like Cadbury, Lindt or even more high end brands like Godiva. The bars are clean and sharp in the flavors they represent. The minimalistic menu only has ice creams and beverages but you can be highly assured of the quality here. The Hot Chocolate was freshly concocted with the chocolatier's choice of bar, which happened to be a citrus one for me. The drink was unbelievably intense and rich, yet so soothing that it has a calming effect on my mind. It wasn't achingly sweet nor creamy; just the taste of chocolate with cacao nibs for some lovely textural play. The citrus notes only emerged from the aroma and not the taste. And this turned out to be my favourite after sipping the hot chocolate from all three places. And if you are game to try something unique and exotic, get the cacao pulp juice. The juice is extracted from the thin layer of white pulp around the cacao seeds. In fact, I learnt that it actually takes 25 cacao fruits (about one pineapple) to produce one quart of juice. No wonder one small shot cost around ¥400! It tastes exactly like soursop juice to me, very refreshing and fruity indeed. But I think I would stick to my hot chocolate.
