"The spectacular Mirabello Bay on the northeastern coast of the island of Crete is the setting for Minos Palace Hotel & Suites, an unapologetically high-end boutique-style resort whose peninsula location gives it sea views in just about every direction." - Mark Fedeli

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Minos Palace. ||We stayed in the Sea View Bungalow, which felt private and secluded, a few steps from the beach. Incredible views. Comfortable bed. The room was quite hot when we arrived, but with a fan it was perfect. ||Little things like fast, strong WiFi throughout the property, so you can easily order drinks and food without needing to find a waiter. Chill live music at dinner that sets ambience without overwhelming conversation. Beautiful layout, plantings, aesthetics. ||The staff are unfailingly warm, hospitable and professional. ||Overall vibes at the hotel are very laid-back; this is not a party scene. We didn’t hear one person speak in a raised voice or play loud music the entire week. ||Of special mention is the food. We had planned on exploring the town for dinner, but we loved the buffet so much that we ate on property every night. We were blown away by how fresh and varied the food was, particularly the Greek/Cretan classics. ||As someone who frequently evaluates properties as part of my job, this just feels like a place that is very well managed and designed. We were very happy to spend our vacation here and would certainly come back.

Very cute minimalistic and elegant hotel, nice spacious rooms with amazing view. Extremely kind and attentive staff, always happy to help. Vegan options available and very helpful with allergens as well. Breakfast view is amazing and it's extremely peaceful. They also helped us to organize a bunch of excursions that were all super nice too 💗 Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to try the sport offer and the spa, but I'm sure it's great too.

The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately the beach area is ridiculously small for the number of guests staying here. By 11 or 12 o’clock, every single sunbed is taken! and I mean every single one, even the worst ones in full sun. There’s not a single free spot left What’s even more frustrating is that you’re not allowed to reserve a sunbed for more than 30 minutes, because your belongings will simply be removed. Yet in the morning, when you go to breakfast, all the sunbeds are already “reserved” with towels — no people in sight, just towels everywhere. So basically, others can hold a spot for hours, but if you try to, your things get taken away I haven’t even left this hotel yet, and after just four days this issue has already seriously gotten on my nerves. It’s incredibly disappointing and completely mismatched with the size of the hotel and the number of guests

Very nice hotel in a stunning location, with uninterrupted views across a beautiful bay. Total peace on the side facing the bay, as you can't see any of the other hotels in the area from that side. The private beach is the best bit - a tiny little cove, perfect for swimming and just watching the day go by, that is genuinely only for guests (we saw a group who swam round the corner from the next hotel being politely told to swim back). ||The pool looks stunning but the water got pretty warm and it lacks shade, so tended to be busier later in the day when we stayed. It's probably perfect early and late in the season. Similarly the Nao wellness facilities would be more welcome outside summer.||The housekeeping and restaurant staff really make the experience - they are all so friendly and lovely and make the effort to remember preferences. The hotel is bigger than boutique so not everything feels personalised, but it's small enough to feel like you're not just part of a crowd. Nick who runs the watersports rental on the beach and provides boat tours, is great and a fount of local knowledge.||We ate from the buffet on a half board basis and it was amazing - very fresh and varied every day, plenty of salad and fresh fruit, lots of breakfast choices too. The evening patisserie selection is a highlight.||We were glad we'd booked half board as there aren't that many options close to the hotel, although it's not too far to Agios Nikolaos (walkable but it's along a fairly busy road). There are a couple of mini supermarkets nearby if you run out of anything.||One slight criticism is that some reception staff really don't seem bothered about providing a welcome and we literally got a shrug when we dropped our keys off on departure.

Minos Palace resort is incredible. The views are stunning and it's a very serene and relaxing place to be. The staff was great/attentive. The gym is a bit small but it's open air and looks out to the water, which is neat. We loved the breakfast buffet - so many healthy options. My husband and I didn't want to leave!

Outstanding stay at Minos Palace Hotel in Crete-everything was exceptional: the food, staff, accommodation, surroundings and especially the neo longevity Spa. The setting is stunning and the atmosphere is so relaxing. The only downside was the sun loungers on the beach area, many were reserved with towels but left unused. A pre-booking system (morning /afternoon slots using the numbered parasols) would make this much fairer otherwise an unforgettable experience-highly recommended

Truly amazing, the experience with the hotel staff from Nicholas greeting us, to the Operations Manager Christopher, the restaurant manager Concensus (sp ?) he lead his staff by example. He even brought my husband a birthday cake, Ava the server that lite up the restaurant with her smile was so amazing. Don’t hesitate to book the Marriott hotel. We loved every minute, is was so elegant.

The hotel positions itself as a 5⭐ property but fails to provide a basic service — access to sun loungers on the beach. From early in the morning, guests place towels to “reserve” loungers and then only return around midday. Every lounger has a sign saying “do not reserve with a towel,” yet the staff does not enforce this rule. We have already complained to the reception and were promised the situation would be resolved, but the very next day it happened again. This is not just an inconvenience — it ruins the holiday and creates a “first come, first served” atmosphere, as if it were a public beach. Such an attitude towards guests and lack of control is absolutely inconsistent with the regulations of a 5-star hotel. We are very disappointed: for this price, we expected respect for guests and compliance with premium service standards.
