Our Favorite Noodle Soup In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation

"The chung king noodle soup from Min’s is rich, spicy, fragrant, and perfect for these frigid times we’re living in. It’s a generous portion of skinny noodles swimming in a spicy, perfumed broth with your choice of braised meat (our favorite is the beef), bok choy, and crunchy additions like fried garlic and fresh scallion. Plus, it’s topped with a poached egg." - adrian kane, courtney sprewer

Google
Min’s Noodle House 🥰🥰🥰🥰is a great spot for anyone who loves flavorful, satisfying noodle dishes. The noodles are excellent — fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of authentic taste. Whether you’re going for a soup or a dry-style dish, the texture and flavor really stand out. It’s the kind of place that hits the spot when you’re craving something comforting and delicious. The overall food quality is great, and the portions are generous. However, one small downside was the cucumber dish, which didn’t quite meet expectations — lacking freshness or flavor compared to the rest of the meal. Still, if you’re coming for noodles, this place is highly recommended. Great service, tasty food, and a cozy atmosphere. Just maybe skip the cucumber and focus on their signature dishes!

Google
Come for the beef noodle soup, it's one of the best you'll have. I added pork belly just for funs and now I'll be doing that every time. Nice and quiet place. I've come a few times and it's never missed for me.

Google
Consistently been my favorite restaurant in Chicago! I'm always craving something from Min's noodle house. Their chili oil is still absolutely killer, noodles amazing, broth kicks flavor-ass. I don't care if I'm already gorged on noodles and my mouth burns, I cannot stay away from another bite of that hot and sour glass noodle soup! My current favorite dish is the Sichuan spicy cold noodles with chicken.

Google
We ordered 3 noodle dishes and they were all good..you can adjust the spicy level. each portion was big and it can be shared. Perfect menu for the rainy season-a bowl of noodles. Recommended to try if you re a noodle lover and happen to be in the area!

Google
I had one of the most flavorful and delicious ramen noodles here! As a first timer, I’ll definitely be back to try their other dishes! Really enjoyed my lunch.

Google
Yum! We split the braised beef noodle soup and thought it was a very good size for us to share. The flavor was incredible! We ordered mild, since it was our first time we didn’t know how spicy it would be. But it was great. I can’t believe how flavorful it was. The noodles had a good chew, and the beef was tender. We loved it so much!

Google
I ordered only for pan fried potstickers under big bites category on their page unfortunately what I received definitely wasn’t a big bite. It was the mini ones you can buy at the store. Advertise correctly, definitely won’t be going back. One picture is what they advertised.

Google
It's perfectly fine to eat enough. It's not affordable, but it's not expensive either. Mobile phone scan code order, convenient and simple. Food comes out quickly.

Yelp
It is about ten blocks from the main Chinatown area, right off Halsted Street. There appears to be plenty of paid street parking. I got there early at opening time (10 am), so I was the first and only one there at the time. It was clean and modern inside, with seating for singles and tables of four. There is a large menu screen behind the cashier. I didn't realize there were several protein options for the noodle soups, which is nice to have. It makes you want to come back and try the others. I ordered the Braised Beef Chungking Noodle Soup. Knowing it would be spicy, I also ordered the Hong Kong Style Milk Tea. The food came out within a few minutes. The broth was complex, tasty and spicy. The braised beef was well flavored and tender. I like how it was cut into bite size pieces. In some other Chinese restaurants, the beef pieces could be too big and unwieldy. The noodles were just the right texture. I didn't like the Hong Kong Milk Tea. It was too milky and too sweet for my taste. Some of the other places in Chinatown have stronger tea flavors and just the right balance of sweetness. So I would pass on the milk tea from here next time, even though it would help tame the spice of the noodle soup. But definitely I hope to visit again to try the other tempting noodle soups.

Yelp
This Is my to go rest for when I crave the hour and soup noodle soup. I tried it last year for the first time and I returned almost every other week to get their hot and sour noodle soup cause it was THAT addicting. I tried other rice dishes but they were not as good as the soup. Their meat buns are humongous and worth the price. The soy milk drink is delicious!!! Definitely a great combo with the noodle soup. It's a semi self serve restaurant so it's great for quick meals. Service is also fast. Great location if you live in this area.

Yelp
Despite eating on Halsted every week, this weekend was our first time stopping in. *TLDR: we've been missing out!* We were delighted by their extensive menu selection and the ease of ordering at the counter before grabbing a seat. We finished ordering by 12:30pm and just barely beat the lunch wave that came in (almost every table full minus a few seats at the window counter) and the online orders were also flowing. It all made sense when our noodles arrived! My husband loved the flavor, spice level and quantity of the beef Chongking he ordered. I was pleasantly surprised with the balanced flavor of their Dan Dan noodles and ended up finishing the whole bowl myself (usually I bring home leftovers when I order any noodle/soups, especially at lunch). Great prices, tons of options (tea drinks + food), and flavor-packed dishes. Not to mention: the staff was kind throughout the lunch rush, and the tables + seats were solid and arranged nicely for a comfortable dine in experience! Can't wait to add this spot to our weekly lunch rotation and explore the rest of their menu.

Yelp
First time I went there with my friends the noodles were amazing and super flavorful. Our favorite was the Dandan noodle which was rich with peanut and red Szechuan chilli flavor. Not the bland and sweetened kind you get in Americanized Chinese restaurants. The cold appetizers were also fresh and delicious. Service was amazing and we were able to customize the noodles so they were vegetarian friendly. However when I ordered on Grubhub today the Uyghur style noodle was nothing like how it's supposed to be. Authentic uyghur noodles should be really spicy and dry stir fried (from my experience), not soaked in a bad tomato sauce which just tastes like diluted ketchup. I also asked for extra spice but I'm not sure if it was Grubhub or the restaurant that messed up the order. I also didn't receive any notification when the order was delivered so the noodle were all sticky and lost its texture. Anyway, try dine in instead maybe the food will be prepared with better care.

Yelp
I came here after a Sox game for takeout to bring back to my place. I ordered both the Spicy Pig Ears and Original Spicy Chunking Noodles and they were both DELICIOUS. Portion size was good and normal for the price point and I devoured my food. I probably should have just eaten there so it was 100% fresh out of the kitchen, but either way it tasted great even 25 minutes later when I arrived home. This place is a sleeper gem for sure - if you are craving more of Chongqing-style of food, come here!

Yelp
My husband gave this place a try by ordering thru Uber Eats. He knew I like eggplants so he ordered one with minced pork. I found a piece of hair in the eggplants. Lost my appetite and called the restaurant. The lady over the phone suggested that I text her photos of proof which I did. She texted back telling me sorry but no one with long hair in the kitchen insinuating that I lied. First and last time that we would ever order from here.

Yelp
Hands down best noodle soup in Chicago... Would highly recommend! Kind of far from downtown but close to the white Sox stadium. Maybe 3 stops on the bus.

Jerry W.

Yelp
Went there for dinner with family and friend and the food did not disappoint. Ambience is quiet and service is spot on. We ordered multiple items and ordered the non spicy version for my son. He enjoyed the noodles and soup. We also ordered the tofu with preserved egg, and combination of other appetizers and we love every bit of it. Will be back for more

Yelp
I came here once to try it out. We did a mix of 2 pork and 2 beef baos. The baos were a good size and they were flavorful. Meat was fresh and bun was soft. I honestly forgot what my main entree was but it was very decent. Broth was savory not watery. Meat and egg were delicious. Noodles were soft and a little chewy. Service was good. There were plenty of tables to eat. We did paid street parking. Prices were okay.

Yelp
Definitely a neighborhood favorite. Spouse always get the chicken chungking at their spiciest with wheat noodles extra egg. I usually get their spare ribs chungking noodle at their mildest with rice noodles. It never looks like much but it's always super filling.

Libny S.

Yelp
Chungking noodle soup can heal me. Mango green tea is so refreshing. I love this place. Beef bao + spicy wontons are super yummy as well. MINS FOR THE WINS

Yelp
My friend and I wanted something simple for lunch and came across this restaurant!  What we ordered: Tapas Trio: We got the tea egg, crunchy shredded potato, and braised tofu. Crunchy shredded potato and the braised tofu were great. The tea egg was good and tasted great in the noodle soup Chungking noodles with pork ribs: Noodles were good and the pork ribs were fatty and delicious. The soup was the perfect comfort food

Yelp
Bridgeport has a ton of Chinese restaurants, and this is one of the best. It's a small place but it's full of great authentic flavor. Min's Noodle House is frequented often by Chinese Americans, so that's a very good sign. Also very good are the prices for getting a lot. There's noodles of course but also bao, soup, and more. After passing this by an earlier time I made a note of it to come back some time for lunch. It has pretty big portions for not that much. There's a variety to choose from, and not just noodles. Get some tea for about $4 a cup. Since it was hot we got the Iced Jasmine Green Tea. It's about $11 for an entree. The large portions makes up for this. Even though most items have meat, there's a few that are vegetarian friendly. We each got the Hot And Sour Glass Noodle Soup With Braised Tofu. Big ass bowls. The broth was fairly thick unlike the watery kind you sometimes can get. Filled with lots of good smells inside, a pungently spicy odor and not the smell of rotting chicken like a few places in Chinatown. It made for a much better experience to eat inside. They also get their share of takeout.
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
I love this new addition to Bridgeport but hate myself for taking so long to try! We have tried several items: 1) Hot and Sour Glass Noodle Soup with Braised Tofu 2) Chungking Noodles with Beef Shank, mild 3) Chungking Noodles with Braised beef, milk 4) Chungking Noodles with Pork Ribs, mild 5) Dan Dan Noodles 6) Any 3 Items - pig's ear, beef tendon, and shredded seaweed 7) Eggplant with Sweet Peppers over Noodles 8) Uyghur-Style Noodles with Pork We have ordered take-out at least three times and our recurring items are #1, 2, and 3. The latter two are especially popular among my toddlers. The beef are tender and juicy, and they would always clear their bowls. The Uyghur-style noodles are interesting to say the very least. It resembles a bowl of noodles dunked into a tomato-based stew with shredded pork. So it's got some of the tomato's natural acidic flavors blended with the strong spices. It was worth a try but we will unlikely re-order.

Marsha B.

Yelp
Food was so good--ordered a variety of items. We enjoyed the won tons, bao's, noodles, and drinks. I will order here again. I wish they had a bigger selection of won tons, the spicy sauce isn't spicy but it's delicious.

Yelp
A hidden gem in Bridgeport. The Chongking wonton soup or spicy wonton is 10/10. The silken tofu is a highly recommended dessert made of soy bean milk. My new go to spot.

Bingo B.

Yelp
Food is solid. Ive been here a good number if times and generally always get the same things. Owner if you're reading this, why are your smashed cucumbers no longer smashed? Also, whatever you're doing to the pork, could you make it less woth whatever filling it is? Im really not used to the filling that's not pork. But also whatever. I'll be back. Smash those cucumbers please. Also, $2.50 for extra veggies that amounted to cooked lettuce??? Nooooooo

Yelp
I absolutely loved the chungking noodles! I ordered it on doordash and it came fairly quickly and everything was still really hot which was great! The soup also came in a separate much larger container, so it felt fresh when I ate it and spice level was great with so much flavor! I highly recommend ordering the noodles with tofu especially for all my vegetarians out there!
google avatar

Yelp
My friend who works at ComEd hyped up this resto to me almost everyday, saying their Chungking noods is one of the best in Chicago; better yet, the best in whole world. I went and it didn't disappoint. I recommend.

Yelp
Five Fabulous Shining Stars! My partner found out about this spot through Reddit and brought me here on a chilly Tuesday night. We dined in and caught just the end of dinner rush. Most of the folks coming in/out were the Uber Eats/Doordash/Chowbus folks hauling deliveries, but there were a few groups of two eating at tables in the restaurant. When we walked inside, I was mesmerized by the bright menu panels lofted above/behind the cashier desk and on the right hand side. These were full-sized LCD screens turned lengthwise. One string of panels had all their menu items/prices in English. The panels to the right (on the right wall) by the cashier were all in Chinese. It was a sight to take in; so many amazing options. Between two of us we got: +Iced Passionfruit Green Tea +Iced Red Guava Green Tea +"Choose 3" appetizer set: braised tofu, smashed cucumber, beef shank +Pork Bing +Szechuan Chili Oil Wontons +Chungking Noodles w/Pork Belly (him), medium spicy +Chungking Noodles w/Beef Brisket (hers), medium spicy The food here tastes home made with love. This is exactly the type of no-nonsense, delicious, homey food I crave all the time, especially in cold Chicago weather. It's fast casual and they serve their food using disposable bowls/plates/cutlery due to covid precautions. There was enough room in the restaurant to comfortably enjoy a dine-in meal. I cannot wait to come back and try their Hot & Sour Glass Noodles or their Dan Dan Noodles. They have soy milk and fried dough and so many delicacies that are virtually non-existent in my neighborhood. When you're here, soak it ALL in. Order the drinks/apps/mains, and then order some take-out for lunch the next day. Support a small business. This place is a gem! Note: They are closed Wednesdays. Plenty of paid street parking available.

Yelp
We had their pork and beef bao and the braised beef noodle soup. The bao were one of the best I've tried. It was juicy and packed in flavor as if it had some soup in it. We had the mild spicy flavor for the soup. For people who don't like it too spicy this one was perfect; it had a good kick to it. Only sad thing about the experience is that we didn't come any sooner ! Worth the extra miles if you're coming from the north side !
google avatar

Kristine R.

Yelp
Superb service and meals!!! Also beautiful inside and the staff are always helpful with navigating through the menus!
google avatar

Jim B.

Yelp
I come here all the time. I come for the Chungking Spicy Wonton Soup and a side of Spicy Wontons in chili sauce. This is by far the best wonton soup I have ever had. You can get these in different spice levels too. It's a huge bowl with a bunch of wontons and spice. You. An even add to the bowl for additional charge. I'll get noodles added to the soup at times. When ever I go in there I'm greeted with a smile and the people who work there are so nice. Food comes out very hot and fast. It's also very nice inside too. I don't live close but if I was craving this soup, I'm taking the drive. It's THAT good!
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
The service is quick, ambiance is great and food is always a hit when I'm missing home. It's my go to place to take my family when I come. The two times I've gone the buns have been delicious and the noodles come in a huge portion!
google avatar

Yelp
4.4/10 Braised beef noodle was composed of the toughest rectal muscles of four male bulls. Every bite of beef was like chewing on Willy Wonka's every-lasting gum. Pepper Salt Cripsy Chicken is worse. Bite into a deceptively large piece, and you'll be lucky to find pork. In fact, you'll find a quarter inch thick dough hugging cartilage and fat. Worst of all, the disposal. I don't mind cleaning up after myself. But for sake of mother earth, at least pretend to recycle plastic bowls and spoons that are handed out like pieces of candies.
google avatar

Megan L.

Yelp
Super authentic Chinese place! I ordered pork intestine noodles and a jasmine green milk tea, and both were delicious. They packaged my to-go order really well, so everything came neatly. I wish I had eaten my food when it was hot because when I finally had the chance to pour the broth into my bowl, the noodles had stuck together. Regardless, I could still tell the noodles were authentic, and the pork intestines were super yummy and fatty. I had no idea their milk tea would be good as well, but it was also authentic and had a great tea flavor. I highly recommend!

Yelp
This has become a go to. I adore this place. I am not a fan of noodles, but this place has changed my mind. Dan Dan Noodles are absolutely perfect. All of the tofu dishes I've tried are phenomenal: hot sweet silken tofu, cold sweet silken tofu, spicy silken tofu, braised tofu. It's SO good. The silken tofu is the same kind you would find in China or in Flushing, Queens. Chungking noodles with braised beef is SO GOOD AND FLAVORFUL. The cucumbers are 100/10. Even though this is a bit far, I am so happy they deliver to me. Also, they pack the food really well.
google avatar

William B.

Yelp
We got some nice looking noodles and the like here: dan dan noodles, beef bao, wonton soup, szechuan wontons, plus a few vegetables (smashed cucumber and spicy eggplant). But the unifying theme was a lack of flavor. There was some notable zing in the szechuan wontons, and I think I detected some garlic in the cucumbers and some sweetness in the eggplant, but everything was bland bland bland. The noodles themselves were very nice, as were the wontons, so I ate a lot of those because I was hungry. But we didn't even bother to keep the leftovers. Two stars because at least the noodles were good. Some places are bland and also have bad noodles. But you should have better options.

Yelp
Honestly one of my favorite, if not my favorite, spot for great well-priced (and spicy!) Asian food! Came here on the recommendation of several others a while back and have ordered take-out/delivery from Min's several times after (especially with the shelter-in-place)! There's a fairly large space with plenty of tables here to dine-in, but there was also a relatively steady flow of people grabbing delivery/take-out while we were eating here as well, which is always a great sign to me! The service was very friendly and incredibly fast (although we did come relatively early -- around 5:30PM for dinner), but the food was the real standout: - Hot soy milk: you get a heaping bowl of real Asian soy milk (tastes different than regular soy milk) and can customize the sugar levels. Haven't had authentic soy milk like this in a really long time - Fried breadsticks ("you tiao"): HUGE sticks of fried bread which pair really well with the breakfast type items such as the soy milk - Pork and beef buns (4 for $6.95): This was one of the standouts of the meal. These buns are INCREDIBLY juicy and flavorful (be careful the oils don't get everywhere when you bite into them. Probably the best bang for your buck. The pork buns tasted better than the beef to me but both were excellent. - Wontons in chili sauce: These were packed with meat and coated in a spicy ma-la "numbing" sauce. Delicious! - Appetizers (3 for $7.95): We picked the smashed cucumbers, crunchy seaweed, and pig ears. All were served in healthy quantities on a plate together. They were all nice and cold but really packed a punch in terms of spice -- especially near the base of the plate! - Diced chicken with peppers and noodles: These were dry noodles packed with flavor and pieces of fried chicken bits. Delicious but definitely the most spicy dish we got! - The original chunking noodles: this was pretty good. Quite unique -- reminded me somewhat of ramen but with a different flavor profile. Yum! One of my favorite spots for sure. Will continue coming back to them as long as I live in the city!

Yelp
*Delivery Review* Drinks - got the red guava green tea and passion fruit green tea. They were both on the sweet side. But the passion fruit was better. Apps - I ordered the combo and picked pigs ear, tofu, and shredded potato. The tofu was tofu skin and taste was ok. I liked the shredded potato, it had a kick and was refreshing. The pigs ear was also done well - sliced thinly and seasoned. Desserts - Sweet silken tofu was surprisingly not that sweet in an authentic way. It was pretty legit! The crystal jelly was a little confusing in taste and didn't have as much depth as I wanted.

Yelp
Really tasty pork baos! The baos are HUGE and generously stuffed. I ordered takeout and the box was seriously hefty. I also had the beef shank chungking noodles. I went for rice noodles and added seasonal veggies. The broth and noodles were tasty, but the portion size for the price was off. I also paid $2 extra for the seasonal veggies but all I got was lettuce. If the price would have been fairer, I would bump this up a star.

Yelp
Craving some spicy and flavorful soup noodles? Min's noodle house is my go-to place for small gatherings with friends or ordering takeout. Their signature Sichuan Noodles and everything else are so satisfying and affordable. It's a heaping bowl of noodles with all kinds of toppings available like intestines, pork belly, beef brisket, and peanut crumbs and vegetables. You can even choose the spiciness level and type of noodles to your liking. I'm definitely coming back to try their other dishes like huge baos and homemade soy milk.

Yelp
We enjoyed our takeout from here. The inside is also very modern, which stood out to me. We ordered the Holy Cow, the Chungking noodle soup with braised beef, the crispy diced chicken with Serrano peppers, and the pork lo mein. Chungking soup is tasty, with a great red color. It will remind you a little bit of a spicy ramen (includes an egg, other garnishes, etc.). Holy Cow was also really good. Spicy. We didn't love the diced chicken and didn't find it spicy. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't stand out to us. Pork lo mein was very tasty. About what you'd expect.

Yelp
TL;DR Reasonably priced tasty noodles in Bridgeport! Fast and friendly service, large menu, casual ambience. What to order: - Beef bone broth noodle soup 骨汤牛肉面 - ($10.95) What to watch out for: - seems like most of the noodle soups contain peanuts - meat was dry ===== Came here for lunch and ordered the Beef bone broth noodle soup - 骨汤牛肉面 - ($10.95) and really enjoyed it! The soup was extremely well flavored; it was clear and savory and umami-filled *fingertip kiss. The half of a tea egg that comes with it was also surprisingly complex in flavor. The texture of the noodles was good and the portion was fairly large. This would honestly be a five-star bowl of noodles if it weren't for the beef slices that came with it; they were dry and hard and not flavorful. Maybe they were sacrificed to make the amazing soup, but they were not an enjoyable eating experience on their own. I also wish that the noodles came with more bok choy or vegetables in general (pickled or fresh) because there were just two small pieces of bok choy swimming in the sea of noodles - this is me being nitpicky, though. Would love to come back to try the other items on the menu! Perhaps one of their intriguing milk teas? (note: alas, they sell tea/milk teas exclusively without boba/other toppings - better for blood sugar but sad for my soul)

Yelp
Solid execution but didn't agree with all the concepts. Mild spice level worked well. Dan Dan Noodles - 3/5. Good noodles, very beefy. The egg done two ways was the highlight. I thought was decent but my wife didn't like it. Original Spicy Chungking Noodles - 2/5. I found this boring, with only a slight kick to provide interest. My wife thought it was OK. Bao Combo - 3.5/5. The pork bao was quite good, 4/5. The beef one was a solid meatball that had decent flavor but didn't totally work for me, more 3/5.

Yelp
A staple restaurant that got me through the pandemic. Providing a breakdown of my most commonly ordered dishes: Holy Cow tapas (3/5): would give this 4/5 but there's like a 20-25% chance that it doesn't taste fresh when ordering, so deducting one star for that. When it's fresh, it's fantastic. Diced Chicken with Serrano Peppers Noodles (5/5): Chinese fried chicken & noodles - hard to go wrong. Ask for it to be drier as I find that the sauce they use can make the chicken a bit soggy after a while. I can't handle the full heat of the peppers so I usually pluck them out before eating (the spice level is just right after removing them). Uyghur-Style Noodles (4/5): Onion, peppers, and meat in a hearty soup w/ noodles - a bit sweet with the bite of the onion & peppers. Very filling. Original Spicy Chunking Noodles (3/5): Good, but nothing special IMO. If you want a solid bowl of spicy soup & a tea egg, hard to fault you with this choice. I only very occasionally get this when the craving strikes - usually the Diced Chicken Noodles or the Uyghur-Style Noodles is the right choice for me.

Yelp
Min's Noodle House is my favorite noodle place in Chicago! I crave it every other week. I usually order the Dan Dan Noodle ($12.95) and the Changking Noodle with Braised Beef ($15.98). I love the texture of their hand pulled noodles and the flavor of their broth. I tried noodles from other restaurants but no place beats this place!!
google avatar

Nichole X.

Yelp
I love the buns from Min's and heard good thing about their noodles, so I decided to give it a try today. Overall, the noodle is delicious. I like the fact that they allow you to choose the level of spiciness and types of noodles (regular noodles and rice noodles). The regular noodles weren't bad, but I can't say I'm a fan of the texture. It was a little hard and doughy to me. The braised beef was super tender and flavorful. Egg, veggie and broth were also tasty. I will definitely try it with rice noodles instead next time and I'm sure it will be delicious.

Yelp
This place is great because their food is lit and their customer service even better. I ordered from Chowbus and they didn't have the eggplant with peppers over noodles listed on that app so I selected the eggplant with pork then asked in the comments if they could do peppers instead then I crossed all my fingers and toes. When my food arrived, they had made it with peppers instead of pork. I was soooooo happy. Then I opened up the box of bao I got. Holy cow the bao was bigger than my face. Look at the photo. It was delicious and the perfect edition to a night of white claws and bad reality TV.

Yelp
I decided to try Min's Noodle House on a whim since I was already ordering food from another restaurant nearby through Chowbus and I was able to bundle this together for no additional charge for delivery. Many of the reviews mentioned good things about the chungking noodle with braised beef so I ordered it along with the pork buns. The flavor of the broth for the chungking noodle was good but there were mostly pieces of tendon instead of normal meaty pieces of beef which I found disappointing. I was not a fan of the pork buns. I'm not sure what the filling was but it kind of grossed me out since it seemed like a big mushy piece of mashed up meat. I took one bite and handed the rest of the buns to hubby since I just couldn't get myself to finish them. I also had a jasmine green milk tea which was really bland and I could barely taste the tea flavor.

Yelp
Epic. After being almost out on a waitlist, we chose this place and not gonna lie, this is a hidden gem! You better come here and I highly recommend the "Chungking" noodle soup. Perfect. The soup was robust and went well with spices and peanuts. Only thing I didn't love was how salty it was. We ordered a bao bun steamed and the filling was very complex in a good way. The service was very nice and when we were going to pack some food to bring back the server offered to help us out. Very nice. Ambiance is very warm. Better go here and taste the goodness in Bridgeport, Chicago or else you're missing out

Yelp
I ordered Min's through DoorDash and it was a great value for what I got! Over all, the meal was about $25 (not including taxes and fees) and I got 4 large bao (2 beef 2 pork), the cucumbers, Dan Dan noodles, and Szechwan wontons. The bao were yummy, but needed a sauce. They were large and a bit one note - enjoyed with sriracha and soy sauce nonetheless. The cucumber salad was maybe my favorite thing. It was cucumbers marinated in a soy-based dressing and it was delish and so refreshing. The Dan Dan noodles was my partner's favorite dish. I thought they were flavorful once totally mixed up because the noodles sort of congealed and the sauce sank to the bottom. This one needs a quick reheat as takeout, but I'm sure is wonderful when eaten in restaurant. The Szechwan wontons were pretty standard. The wonton and filling itself was tasty, but I thought the Szechwan sauce it sat in could have been spicier. I would 100% order from Min's again, and I look forward to visiting them in person once dining is safer.

Yelp
I got the "less spicy" version of the Chongking noodles, which aren't advertised on the menu, but when my friend asked, the waiter told us they did have a less spicy version. He described the spice as Level 3, which honestly means nothing to me, and we both ended up getting that. I found their version of less spicy still incredibly spicy, but despite the copious amounts of water I needed to drink, this was still a really good meal. I don't think I'd consider it a comfort dish, since I unfortunately have a low spice tolerance, but the noodles were soft and enjoyable, and the spice, while painful, definitely added flavor. The price point is also decent, which I like, and the service is good. I asked for a lot of water refills, and the waiters happily obliged, and they were friendly enough. I'd definitely come back here to check out their bings and other foods. My friend tried the Dan Dan and wasn't impressed, but he was comparing it to Taiwanese Dan Dan noodles, as a disclaimer, which felt a little unfair to me.

Yelp
COVID-19 / Quarantine / Delivery Review: Ordered Min's through GrubHub as there was a Chicago promo code to save some $$! I was highly impressed with the food we ordered especially their jar of Chili Oil! I wish they'd write the ingredients and how to make it so I could make it at home, but I'll continue to purchase it since we've been using it quite frequently on dumplings, scallion pancakes, stir fry veggies, etc. The braised beef noodles (with wheat noodles) was very good but a lot spicier than I would have thought when we chose the "mild" option. We also loved the wontons so much (soup was a little salty, but nothing I couldn't handle haha). Their wontons have the perfect meat to wonton wrapper ratio in my eyes though for others, there might not be enough meat. The soy milk was a nice simple refreshing drink for the spiciness of the beef noodles and it's only lightly sweetened! Definitely order from here if you're on the fence and get yourself some of their spicy peppercorn chili oil.

Yelp
Took a look at their menu before coming here and it looked promising, so my boyfriend and I decided to stop by. We ordered the Original Chungking noodle with braised beef, beef noodle soup with beef stock, pig ears, and got free crunchy shredded potato with a yelp check in. The crunchy shredded potato was very tasty. Had a slight kick to it, but still enjoyable. The pig ears were a bit too spicy to me, too thinly sliced, and also cut too long, which made it hard to separate from the pile. The beef stock was delicious - not spicy at all. The soup for the chungking noodles were pretty spicy for me. The noodles for both dishes were just alright. The braised beef was decent and the beef in the noodle soup was meh, a little overcooked and harder to chew. The service was up to par! We were greeted and sat down right away. They gave us a good amount to look over the menu, took our order, and our items came out shortly. They came to check on us just a couple times, which was nice because it wasn't like they were hovering.

Yelp
This place is comforting and authentic. Makes me feel at home. It's a chill spot, the people are nice, and the food is prepared in a timely fashion. I love the tomato & egg over rice. Delicious!

Yelp
Walking into the restaurant you're eyes are greeted with a couple of big screen TVs and dark wooden tables. Good looking from the Chinese restaurant stand point. We ordered a 3 selection appetizer and also got the free sweet potato app with a Yelp check in. For the table we ordered 2 noodles the Dan Dan noodles not spicy and the Chungking, what they seem to be known for, these were Spicer and had the mala taste to it, which if you don't like that peppercorn flavor, don't order it. We also ordered extra noodles which comes out on the side which was nice, rather than added in. We also ordered the pan fried pork dumplings, the Szechuan spicy wontons and the pork bing. The dumplings we're fine, typical what you might find at the frozen food section of the grocery store and pan fried. The Szechuan wontons were nothing special, lacking in that extra flavor. The pork bing was chewy and hard to bite off. Overall the atmosphere was nice but I think the overall food was lacking in that richness of flavor to give it more than 3 stars. We probably won't be back and will opt to try another one of the many Northern Chinese restaurants on Halsted.

Yelp
Came with my brother and had an awesome lunch. We stumbled upon the place on yelp and the food looked great so we decided to come down to try it, and were very satisfied. The menu is Northern Chinese (I think? Someone correct me if I'm wrong) so a bit different from your typical Chinese restaurant; they have a lot of noodle soups with a variety of braised meats, other braised cold cut meats as appetizers/sides, meat-filled bao buns, and other interesting dishes. We went all out and got their spicy noodle soup with braised beef, a beef bao, their braised pork Chinese "burger", a choose-3 plate of pork tongue, pork ear, and pork hock, and an order of their spicy braised duck head. The broth in the soup was delicious and just spicy enough with a bit of a tingle from the Szechuan chilis; the beef was braised perfectly until tender. The Chinese pork "burger"/sandwich was ok, a little on the plain side, but the beef bao was one of the best I've ever had. The meat was so juicy and well seasoned, and they really don't skimp on the amount! The cold cuts were cooked until tender and not chewy at all; the three options were all ok, but the real star was the braised duck head. If you're willing to try it, it's marinated with a delicious savory, sweet, spicy sauce that soaks into the skin and meat. We tried the duck head for the novelty, but it was surprisingly tasty and honestly I would eat anything covered in that amazing sauce. Sone of their dishes are more interesting and tastier than others, but overall it's a great place to get a good, reasonably priced meal and branch out from your typical Chinatown food.

Yelp
I like the restaurant. Been coming here once in a while. I notice they change the noodle than I remember before. Anyone else notice that? Overall, I like the food and the pork bun. Noodle, I wish it was the thicker noodle I had before. For service, you order and pay in the front counter first and they will serve and take your dish later. Not your usually full service restaurant.
