We were excited about a steak house with halal options! My son and husband shared the tomahawk, which was plentiful for the 2 of them. My daughter loved her filet but enjoyed the whipped mashed potatoes more! The salad with the mozzarella stuffed with feta was delicious. The mac and cheese was super yummy and did not disappoint at all. Wish there were more mocktail options. The young lady owner was there, would have been nice if she greeted us when she walked by, customer service. The waiter was extremely nice and tentative to our needs. Noticed he treated all his tables with the same service and respect, we appreciate that. Look forward to going back for the great food, my kids are still talking about the steak.

Amazing restaurant cool vibes in Dearborn. Tried their salads were amazing as well as their vegan lasagna was so good full of mushrooms. Nice place for a family night or a date. Very friendly staff. Nice decor luxury and fancy dining in Michigan

I chose Mint29 for my birthday this year and given we were a big group I made the reservation a month in advance. It was done very quickly and easily over email correspondence. They were super responsive and welcoming. We were seated as soon as we got there. Food, service and atmosphere were all very good. We had a great time and enjoyed ourselves. They served the cake that we took along with us with no extra charge. I would definitely recommend this place.

Google
I heard good reviews so I visited for a celebration while their dinner was good therefore I ordered crap cakes to go. What a disappointment the appearance on top is fine but the bottom of the crab cakes was burnt.

Best steak I’ve had around!!! I travelled across states to have their steak and got the surf and turf with angus beef and my husband got NY prime steak. Both extremely amazing. Also had lime mint virgin mojito which was refreshing! Would be traveling to eat this steak soon again!

Google
Consistently good food and great service. I’ve dined here multiple times and I’m never disappointed. I love the family atmosphere here and it seems like people come here with larger parties which I love the intimate vibe and atmosphere. Recently, I dined upstairs which was small, but nice details. I had the special oysters which were okay. We started with the Mint29 season salad that was amazing and the Japanese dressing complimented it very well. It reminded me of soy sauce. I could eat that whole salad by myself. We also had the calamari which was really good especially with the dipping sauce. For my entrée I had the special surf and turf which was a lobster tail and you choose any meat on the menu. I thought that was really nice. The lamb chops are always 10/10, cooked to perfection especially with their homemade zip sauce. The cilantro sauce is good too if you like a verde type of sauce. I mainly come here for the chops and asparagus. It also came with a few carrots that also tasted great. The lobster tail was a good size, but lacked flavor and was tough. The burger is a must try! Definitely recommend this place for date night, night out with friends, just make a reservation it is on the smaller side and tends to book quickly.

Google
Let me tell you, Mint 29 isn't just the best steakhouse in Michigan; it's a culinary experience. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful. Their steaks are always cooked to perfection – tender, rich, and never dry. Don't even get me started on the amazing shrimp cocktails and the top-notch calamari – crispy, fresh, and delicious. The staff is truly remarkable: respectful, quick to assist, and genuinely dedicated to ensuring your comfort. And the owner? One-of-a-kind, intelligent, and simply amazing. Mint 29 is, unequivocally, good. You won't regret it.

★★★☆☆ - Disappointing Experience Despite Good Waiter Booked a month in advance for a post-Valentine’s Day dinner on February 15th, expecting a nice evening with my wife. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was terrible. We were crammed in the middle of the restaurant at a tiny table, squeezed between a large party at a high-top on one side and another crowded table on the other. It was uncomfortable, with people constantly walking by, bumping into us, and making it impossible to relax. To make matters worse, our food, which we ordered medium, came out beyond well-done—completely charred. It’s frustrating that a steakhouse can’t get the basics right. The waiter was great, but the rest of the service was awful. The staff bringing our food were incredibly rude, adding to the disappointment. Overall, not the experience we hoped for. The good waiter saved it from being a total disaster, but we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Yelp
We just stayed in the area overnight as we were continuing on to the upper peninsula. The at the hotel recommended this place. Wow, what recommendation! The food was amazing. We had the soup of the day, which was an exotic mushroom soup. I have to say i've had somebody good soup in my time, but it's hands-down the best soup I've ever had. We had the chicken in the beef tips as our main entrée. That was also amazing. The service was really good at the beginning although once they started getting really busy, it took go out to get our waiters attention. But overall, we have no complaints. The place was decorated although we decided to eat outdoors cause the weather was so nice. I had to recommend this place.

Yelp
Good food, cool atmosphere. Was a bank and they kept the brick walls, bathroom stall doors are reminiscent of bank vault (ok wired thing to mention but I thought it was cool)

Yelp
Ok literally OMG The place is stunning during December. Recommend making reservations if you want seating downstairs. We walked in at 5:15pm on a Friday when it opened and they put us on the second floor, which wasn't as pretty but they said they were mostly booked. Menu Recommendation: *Creekstone steaks are all halal *Tamato and Burrata salad-great savory starter *8 oz angus filet with truffle butter- cooked to medium perfection *parmesan truffle fries *classy ambiance *date night vibes *great for party of 7-10 *great customer service *high top tables have purse hooks The flavor in their filet is better than some pricier places i've been too. Will definitely be returning!

Yelp
Great 1st time experience! Venue was live, bubbly and busy! Enjoyed my girl time catching up with my besties! Great food and drinks! Looking to bring our husbands back for round 2! The next time maybe our waiter will pour our water in our glasses like he did the other tables he waited on. Despite that, good atmosphere!

Yelp
No taste to dish and very little sauce. Too many stems on whatever greens are piled on plate. Difficult to eat. When I ordered months ago, the seaweed was shredded and sauce was delicious. Very disappointed that this item was changed.

Yelp
The food here never disappoints. One of my favorite spots for fine dining in Dearborn. Have been here numerous times for celebrations in my own birthday. I will say the service has gone down a little bit. The last time we were there. The service was not the best but the food was phenomenal. It's a very small space so definitely recommend making a reservation here.

Yelp
I've only been here once, and it remains as one of the top places I tell people on where not to go. For a "high end" restaurant they seriously lack in manners and hospitality. From the moment we sat down the wait staff was rude and impatient. We came for a birthday, and right when we sat down we were told that we had a 90 minute limit on the table - of which they reminded us not once, not twice, but three times. We ordered drinks and apps, which took time to come out. Then it took about a half an hour in between apps and our entree for our food to come out. I ended up switching seats with my partner during that time since he was sharing his entree with someone else. The waitress expressed that my changing of my seat was an inconvenience and sat at the table switching orders around on her device while the group sat quietly in awkward silence. The food was average. We were going to order birthday dessert but unfortunately our 90 minutes was up by then. For the prices it's not worth it.

Yelp
The chicken citron dish was flavorful. I'm rating this restaurant a four star, because the chicken wasn't moist. I kept asking for that delicious gravy that was on my plate. That helped a lot. The carrots, broccolini, and roasted potatoes were yummy. One of the other ladies had the lamb chop dinner which she said was good. Our server was very polite and professional. He was patient (it was about 15 ladies). When it was time to check out (gratuity is already included) one of the ladies was going to add an extra tip (she had a charge card), but the server graciously declined and told her that the tip has already been included and thanked her anyway. He was very gracious. The ambiance was great. You have an outdoor patio, that leads to the side street. It's like a brick road, which is really charming. Mint 29 is definitely doing something right! I'll be back.

Yelp
I've had the Filet multiple times here and I can't honestly say that it is without a doubt the BEST STEAK I have ever had. The dry age on it creates this amazing bark from the grill and it is ALWAYS seasoned to perfection. I choose Mint29 over any other steakhouse any day of the week.

Yelp
Restaurant was short on staff Thursday evening which resulted in our Waiter (Chris) working at a frantic pace as he had to tend bar too. Resulted in our having to remind him a couple of times for items requested. That being said, he was extremely pleasant and endearing and our food scrumptious. Love the vibe of the restaurant and plan to return in the near future.

Yelp
The Management does NOT care if your food is not to your liking. I ordered Sea Bass and it was overly crunchy on the outside, the serving size was small and for $48.00, I expected much betterl. The side of spinach was so salty it could not be eaten. , my food was not hot. The other people in my group ordered Steaks, one Strip and one Filet, both were very good. We ordered bread with a few tiny bits of spreads, a feta dip that was average at best, and another one, we all ate the requested butter on the small serving of reheated mini loaf and none of us liked the tablespoon of spread served with the bread -the dry reheated Mini loaf of bread was $8.00 or $9.00. You can easily spend $100.00 per person without beverages for the food portion, Share portions of sides were about $10.00. The seating was at high top tables on hard stools, not what your would expect. There are too many good restaurants that value your business as a customer to go back to this OVERPRICED AND AVERAGE restaat best restaurant for the price point. The most disappointing aspect of the meal was making the genreal manager Nick aware there were some disappointments, I wanted to talk to him but we were limited on time so I had to leave. Nick gave me his card with his email and after several calls and multiple emails he was obviously not concerned to provide a short return email or a phone call I requested several times. His time is valued much more than yours- Do yourself a favor find a good steak restaurant that provides genuine customer service who values you and not just your money. Felt the meal was grossly overpriced for the quality and the level of service/attention to serving a hot and well prepared meal.

Yelp
We went to dinner with 9 of us. I was very impressed with the service we received. Our waiter was really great. All 9 of us liked the entrees, drinks and dessert we had. We were upstairs and were the only ones upstairs so it was nice. Very cool look inside! Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Mint 29 impresses with flavorful dishes like their burger with truffle fries and perfectly cooked tomahawk steak. Attentive service and inviting ambiance make it a top choice for a memorable dining experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere and an amazing aesthetic! I love the rustic vibes. On top of that, the food was unmatched! My partner and I got the ribeye with fries and truffle mac and cheese. I would say their sides are pretty mediocre; I could make better at home, but not the steak lol. Another thing I want to add that I wasn't really pleased with is that they serve alcohol at a halal restaurant. I get that there's a bar, but to serve halal food and also have alcohol is not my favorite thing. There are a lot of Muslims in this area and I don't think it's wise or appropriate to serve beverages that don't align with the values of Islam.

Yelp
Wonderful dinner with great service and great portions. Our first time here and we'll be back for sure. We mixed both apps and main dishes to create a lovely dinner selection.

Yelp
The tiger shrimp was excellent but I sensed a vampiric presence in a back alley and recommended my services to remove it and ensure the safety of the staff and diners. The manager refused to pay my fee or to pay me with a meal and I was forced to leave without removing the parasitic entity, though it is against my creed as a former child psychic. I took a karmic oath to offer services only for a balanced trade so as not to endanger the future lives of my client I recommend that guests dine at their own risk, and and also the seafood.
google avatar

Jaewoo S.

Yelp
This is one upscale place to dine in but you get what you pay for. Good restaurant if you want to impress someone. The server told us filet mignon was his favorite and Chilean sea bass was his second. Everybody in our table ordered either the filet mignon or the sea bass and everybody was satisfied.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place for a while. The service was excellent and I would say the food was ok. The crab macaroni and cheese was good, but I think they forgot my crab because I did run across any. The steak bites melt in ur to mouth. My friend got the exotic mushrooms that were not so exotic. They were just sauteed but would have been much better if they were roasted. Also she got the fried shrimp which were really good. Nothing wowed me for those prices. I had their signature drink, and it was the first I have ever been served a half glass for a drink. The menu is limited and the one I looked at online and had preplanned my order didn't serve a lot of those dishes anymore and it the prices were considerably higher.

Yelp
Came here for the first time, last night for dinner. I have been wanting to try this place and so glad I finally did! The other two people I was with also had not been there before so we didn't know what to expect. First , the hostess was very nice and accommodating. She let us pick our table and let us in a little early because it was chilly. Then our server, who I think was also the bartender was great! Very attentive , great service. The food was amazing. We ordered quite a few appetizers so we could try a lot of things for our first time. We also got a filet and some sides. Everything was amazing. Steaks were cooked to temp, everything tasted fresh and delicious. Will definitely be back!!

Yelp
It's a nice restaurant with a nice ambiance. The food is usually good, except for a bad experience I had with a steak. The lobster Mac and cheese is delicious. Staff is kind and quick.

Yelp
Visiting here some time ago and I can't say a bad thing about the place. Everything was done well and the service was very pleasant. It's not a place I'd visit regularly, but great for making an impression or for special occasions.

Lisa E.

Yelp
I ordered chicken and it was way overcooked and flavorless. I would've added salt, but I don't think it would've helped and besides that the waitress never came to ask if I wanted any. She delivered the food and never came back so I couldn't even let her know how overcooked and bland it was. when the waitress came to ask if I want a box, I said no that I did not enjoy the food at all and that it was overcooked. She didn't say anything except OK. On top of not having good food it was expensive and a 20% tip was tacked on, the service was not worth that nor was the food. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Guest in my party enjoyed their food somewhat but nobody raved about it.
google avatar

Chris J.

Yelp
Chilean Sea Bass with smashed potatoes and wilted spinach was incredible. We visited on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was full. After experience the cuisine I now understand why. Service was fine, interior/ambiance of the restaurant was nice, but the 5 star review is owed entirely to the chef/kitchen for the food they present. After experiencing the Sea Bass, I would be hard pressed to order something else simply because the dish was just that good (amazing).

Yelp
This is my go to Restaurant in Dearborn for a nice evening out with friends to have a delicious meal. The food is always fantastic, full of flavor, and make you want to return to try more! The atmosphere is cozy and has a great vibe, especially on the weekends. The staff is great, have awesome energy, and I love that the owners are always visible and mingling with their patrons.

Yelp
Sadly not the best experience and it's only getting a 2 stars because of the Brussels sprouts and the drinks. Ambience- super cute inside, place is small so be ready to be tight w other tables. -reservations are recommended. -staff was wearing masks but the hostess was not. Drinks -cucumber martini was pretty good. Food- -filet mignon presentation was poorly for $38, a friend got hers and it was super raw, asked for it to be cooked a little more they did ( usually at other high end restaurants they would bring a new piece of filet ...well she was given the same piece she was eating out off which makes me think of cross contamination .... no good.... -they ran out of the meatball so couldn't try it... -Brussels sprouts was literally the best thing -truffle fries ... I think I got two with flavor Desserts- Well it would have been nice to know that the kitchen closed at 10 so we would have put our orders in .... but no. I guess they assumed we didn't need it. This was upsetting. Service- Was meh talked to the manager about the dessert and he couldn't care less Would not consider this place a high end is mostly a trendy restaurant

Yelp
Delicious food; Hands down best in downtown Dearborn! The service was too notch Looking forward to coming back soon!

Gosia R.

Yelp
Enjoyed our experience there several times; consistent food! Excellent service! Mint 29 salad and one of their steaks are our favorite we come back for. Desserts are also great, we ended our celebratory meal on a high note! Clean place and striking ambiance. We crave their flavors often!

Yelp
This place makes healthy food look and taste amazing. The chicken dish was on point and the atmosphere is unique. Highly recommend.
google avatar

Mara W.

Yelp
It was okay. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. The drinks were okay, nothing spectacular. I ordered the chicken dish, it was okay. Dry, lacked flavor....just a regular piece of chicken. My best friend ordered steak...she said is was good but she has had better. The shrimp cocktail was good but hard to mess that up. Overall and okay meal, no desire to return.

Catherie L.

Yelp
Very good food. I ordered the squash soup and chicken and my friend ordered the filet. Service was excellent.
google avatar

Tamara C.

Yelp
The ambiance is cool, however the meals were lackluster. They asked our party of 4 to leave bc a party was waiting .This was mere minutes after we paid the bill. They could have asked any other party to leave, however we were the only party of people of color. So of course this gives us pause for concern. Additionally, it is over priced for what you are getting. The waitress was incredibly forgetful and the manager was unbothered when we voiced our concerns.

Dawn L.

Yelp
Made a reservation for 2, was seated upstairs. Downstairs is nicer.. Ordered the tuna poke appetizer, was delicious. Ordered dinner. Found that when asking for an opinion from our server on any menu items she refused to have one. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, truffle Mac and each got the seared yellow fin tuna for an entree. Unfortunately we are both vegetarian and had no idea that Brussels sprouts meant they came with bacon. We were just told that was the special vegetable of the night. Would have been better to have been informed that it wasn't just Brussels sprouts. Then we ordered a second drink that never came. Then dessert, which took 30 minutes to receive. Most likely would not make the drive to eat here again. Very nonchalant service. Truffle Mac was delicious.

Yelp
Mint 29 was delicious. We started out with appetizers Tomato and Burrata and the bread and cheese. Both were delicious. We then had the red pepper soup. It was to die for - fresh and homemade. The group tried everything from scallops, chicken to burgers. We ended the night with buttercake and the apple cake. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend.

Jessica W.

Yelp
It was our servers first shift and she was the best part of the night. Super personable and very quick! She was by far the highlight of the dinner. The wine list wasn't great. There wasn't a Merlot or Zinfandel which is a bit odd for a place that serves $50+ steaks. The more well known labels like Opus and Cristal commanding $450+ a bottle, nothing in the way of middle tier. If you like wine this is NOT the place for you. The menu need a serious overhaul. We ordered 1/2 dozen raw oysters on the half shell. They were not fully shucked and the fork they provided really tore them up. They provided a half lemon, ok cocktail sauce and a small single serving of Tabasco. At $3.50 an oyster it was a let down. We ordered the tomato and burrata. The mixed greens were delicious. They didn't overdo it on the balsamic which was really nice. We got two large slices of underripe beefsteak tomato and a loaf of bread. It was all just kind of put in the plate as individual items and not as a well executed dish. For $18 I expect some good tomatoes! The Korean BBQ salmon was overdone which isn't uncommon, way too much of the quinoa veggie mix and it seemed more like filler compared to the very small portion of fish. The flavor was pretty good. The 8oz filet was tender and cooked perfectly. The pepper they used in the seasoning was very overpowering and the flavor of the meat was lost. The roasted garlic on the side was a great addition. The roasted potatoes we ordered will make excellent breakfast potatoes tomorrow! A dish broke while a staff member was walking to his table. It was a super hot cast iron skillet that fell. The MOD didn't lift a finger to help the staff. They was more interested in continuing a conversation with (friends?). Having worked in F&B this is a huge pet peeve of mine. Front of house staff shouldn't be eating or chewing gum up front either. $159 before gratuity was not worth what we got.

Yelp
Where to start. The ambiance. Based on the prices, I expected the place to look much more upscale than it did. Many of the chairs were barstools that were poorly upholstered and tables were made of metal piping. It reminded me more of a small family BBQ joint on the inside than a place where the steaks are $50+ The waitstaff were friendly and the service was good. The prices were not reflective of the ambiance of the place or the quality of the food that was provided. One person ordered a medium-rare steak and the steak was grey. Another person ordered a rare steak and it was medium. For the prices of the steaks, they need to be cooked to order. I had the burger. It was fine, but at $25 it was a little steep. The server was able to remedy the problem with the steaks, but two of our diners had to wait while their steaks were remade. So while the service and drinks were good, I feel the ambiance and quality was lacking for the price you were paying.

Sandy A.

Yelp
This place is great and delicious. Professional staff and vibrant atmosphere. Definitely would come if you're looking for fine dining experience yet be chill.

My K.

Yelp
I was visiting the area and decided to stop in at Mint for dinner with a friend. The staff person greeted us and took our drink request and shared the dinner specials. Upon her return, I placed our orders. I requested that the steaks are to be cooked med-well. I was informed the steaks would be cooked on the outside but a slight tint of red on the inside. I then asked about having our steaks cooked well-done. Let's see, we waited 25 plus minutes for our meal. The steak that came with the surf and turf was over cooked - not well done. The mash potatoes were cold. I'm sure they were made earlier in the day and placed under a warmer to heat up due to the stiffness of the potatoes. My ribeye was chard but still slight tender n the inside. The mac & cheese was good but you couldn't taste the truffles. This was my third visit and my last.

Yelp
Was looking for a really good steakhouse during my last trip, and found this gem on yelp. I sat at the bar, which was actually a bar and not a sports hangout (not to say that a sports hangout is bad). As soon as I sat down, I was offered a drink and had their Manhattan. Was not disappointed. Their steak menu is fantastic and wish I had been there with more than just me as they had choices that were meant to be shared, unless you're a growing offensive lineman! But settled for the personal sized bone in rib-eye. Was perfect! From the staff to the food this is a great place and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
I love this place Tomahawk was Med rare when I ordered Med but I am not complaining Taters were great Meat spectator Sprouts well, I ate some bit Molly loved them Beer and wine right on Tristen was great waiter Nice location Clean We really enjoyed ourselves, you should too!!

Yelp
Wow! The best place I have been to in a long time! Every part of the meal was amazing. The best steak and lobster I have had in a while. Even the sides were delicious!

Rose F.

Yelp
Atmosphere was acceptable for some restaurants these days. But, one table was super loud up front, way too loud. Management does not ask to tone it down for the sake of other customers trying to have a nice conversation and a more elegant dinner experience. Oysters were good, just two were too small to be served. 1/2 dozen $21. I expect at least regular sized oysters. Calamari great. Chilean Sea Bass great tasting. Too small for a man's appetite. The filets were cooked properly, medium-rare, but dry. Entrees for 4 in our party, were not served at the same time. Side dishes which are alacarte were not served with entrees. Had to wait for side dishes. All sides were good, except roasted potatoes were too done and dry. Crème Brûlée a little burnt, only served with a couple blackberries, no strawberries or raspberries. My drink I ordered, they said on the 2nd drink they ran out of Bacardi, is another rum ok. I said yes, and they charged me an extra dollar, even though they ran out of the rum. We were already at $15. These are rookie mistakes at an expensive restaurant. $500.00 later, definitely not worth it. I had my mother's wake there, upstairs. They did a much better job with that forum. The service was good, on a better note. So, disappointed. Never again.

Yelp
A few of us went to dinner here last night for the first time, and WOW Server was very attentive and efficient. We got a variety of apps, I had the filet for my main course and a delicious cucumber martini. Favorite starters we're the bread with the tzatziki, olives, spicy feta dip and the crab cakes with 3 different sauces-both amazing! My steak was cooked to perfection, which is a huge plus! We have said many times since we left last night how we can't wait to go back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Yelp
We were in town for a family wedding and took our cousins from out of state to dinner here. We were a party of 8 on a Friday evening at prime dinner hour. Excellent service, great meals all around - no one was wanting for a thing. Our family raved about the food, and we all returned to our hotel quite satisfied. I only wish I would have thought to take photos of our dinners to post with this review.

Yelp
What can they improve? Try not to look down your nose at those who ask for ranch dressing.

Yelp
I've been to Mint 29 more than I can count. I had my graduation party here which was such a great time. We didn't sit in the private are since the party wasn't that big but I've been upstairs for pharm rep dinners and that area is very nice and secluded. Service is top tier. Everyone there has been so nice each and every time I've been there. Food is delicious. Even something as simple as their salad is so hearty. I love the salmon and the appetizers. I've never tried the steak, but everyone usually goes nuts over them. Definitely a nice place for professionals to have dinner. Whether we interview physicians or have someone coming in town, we often try to bring them here!

Yelp
An upscale spot on Michigan Ave with beautiful interior and outdoor seating! Pros: Great for meat-lovers Good location Friendly server Cons: My vegan quinoa cake was horrible! Just two store-bought vegan patties sandwiching a tasteless salad. I can't believe it was as expensive as it was.

Yelp
Great service, drinks, and food! Love the steak! One of the few places I have been that I was surprised to be in the first time and LOVED it!
