"Despite its name, Somerville’s Mint Indian Eatery, located in Powder House Circle, doesn’t exclusively serve Indian food. It also offers some “Indo-Asian” fusion dishes and a selection of momos, including lamb momos tossed in chile sauce, paneer spinach momos, deep-fried chicken momos, and a few other options. The small counter-service restaurant is mostly geared toward takeout and delivery but does offer a bit of seating inside." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

It is a nice Indian restaurant in Somerville for pickup or delivery. Although there are some seatings available but not recommended as the space is rather small and parking is limited around. All the foods I've tried so far are great. My Indian friends also said foods there are nice.

Ordered on weekday afternoon on uber eats. Got it on time and it was still warm so points to uber eats. I ordered thali- i chose 2 entrees aloo mattar & paneer kadhai. Aloo mattar was okish at best and paneer kadhai was not authentic it was pretty sweet. Paneer was pretty dry. No spicy flavors at all (tbh it kinda threw me off a little). It came with rice naan & papadum. All of them were fresh and warm- no complaints. Paneer tikka masala katti roll- literally just turned the same paneer kadhai curry into roll and called it kathi roll. Literally exact same taste. paneer was dry and hard af. Like i'd spend my money in indian grocery store & get authentic roll for half price. Chicken jhol momo-this was a saving grace. I absolutely loved that they put jhol in a different container. Momos were warm & flavorful. Jhol was cold but really tasty. Not too spicy not too bland. Really good balance. Gotta say that uber eats packaging was really good. They made sure everything came fresh, warm and nothing moved while in transit. Appreciate it 🫡

My recent visits to this cozy eatery were centered around their Veg Fried Rice and Veg Hakka Noodles. Both dishes offered decent flavors but had their quirks. The Veg Fried Rice was packed with veggies, perhaps a bit more than ideal. The hearty vegetable presence overwhelmed the rice, but the freshness of the ingredients was undeniable. The Veg Hakka Noodles, on the other hand, featured thicker noodles, which might not be to everyone's liking. Despite this, they had a distinct chewiness and a well-balanced flavor profile. A word of advice: plan for extra time if you're picking up your order, as my Veg Fried Rice took about 25 minutes. The restaurant's ambiance is charming, with Indian artifacts and paintings, and they offer a nice touch by providing complimentary tea to pick-up customers. In summary, it's a spot with potential for veggie lovers, offering hearty portions and decent flavors, albeit with some quirks. Be patient with the wait, enjoy the ambiance, and savor the complimentary tea

Google
Great Indian/Nepali entrees The taste is excellent here and the portions are fair for the price! Though I would say the spice levels are a bit simmered down for the American preference but this can be easily resolved if you select your spice level to be on the higher levels! All in all, this establishment makes good food and provides excellent service! Would I say this is the best Indian food around? Probably not but it does the job for your Indian cravings. 4/5 at most. Nothing more

Google
The place is rather small, and the sambosa's core is rather cold but the sandwiches are amazing, the hakka chicken noodles are tasty, flavourful and the chicken tastes great. There is also water inside in case of overspiciness. I recommend mild spicy for not so spicy!

Not a very big place has a few tables Was clean. And the young man behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. I got the Thali$16.95 both mild Which consist of your choice of two entrees, rice, nan, papdons. I got the lamb Marsala which was pretty good. Lamb was tender and cut into small pieces the sauce had good flavor. I also got the chicken curry, I wasn't to crazy about this dish. The chicken was also very tender and cut into small pieces, but the sauce was sweet? And didn't have much flavor to it. They give you a whole nan bread nothing special about it your average run of the mill nan bread. They also have a cooler filled with condiments. That you can take, that way you don't have to ask for extras. I always get and ask for extra onion chutney Their chutney onion was ok very mild. Over all it was pretty good. I would recommend this establishment

Google
Food is pretty good but check the prices. They tried to charge me $17.99 that was clearly marked $15.99 on their price screen, had to argue with the counter person. Been going there for years but think it's over at this point.

Google
I got the crispy spicy chicken Kati roll to go, and it was quite yummy— saucy crispy chicken with peppers and onions, wrapped up in fried egg and a crepe-like bread. Not super spicy. It was convenient and well priced.

Yelp
We've been ordering from Mint for years and are huge, huge fans. Tonight we ordered 2 Kati rolls for delivery. SO GOOD!! Like 11 out of 10 good. Such nice people too. We are grateful you're in our neighborhood, our Mint friends.

Yelp
Everytime we order from this place usually either something is missing or the portions is very very small compared to prices you pay! They also add a lot of butter/oil? Which makes the actual taste of the food to go away. Once i got the paneer tikka masala, the rice was cold and the actual tikka masala was mostly just the tomato sauce and hardly any paneer...

N K.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from here tonight. -Biryani: so bland-basically tastes like plain rice -Hakka noodles: bland with no flavor -Chili paneer: very salty so couldn't taste any other flavor and was mostly gravy with a few pieces of paneer -Chana Masala: very salty with little other flavor and the chickpeas are tough (probably canned) -Paneer Tikka Masala: very sweet and the paneer is rubbery -Mango lassi: delicious -Butter naan: meh

Yelp
*I will update this review if the restaurant manager is able to appropriately fix the situation* I spent a couple hours checking out menus online, looking for a place to get Indian street food and Indo-Chinese food. 10 years ago, I spent 8 months eating my way through India so it's always fun to find places in the US that offer more than the standard Punjabi curries found in most Indian restaurants in Massachusetts. I headed to Mint based on the great reviews, good prices, and an assortment of kathi rolls, chaats, and Indo-Chinese food. When I first placed my order (samosa chaat, paneer chili kathi roll, baby corn manchurian), it was evident there was an issue with the POS and/or front of house communication. I was quoted at nearly 30 dollars for the 3 snack items -- when I brought the high price to the worker's attention, she told me she had incorrectly put into the POS a paneer curry dish instead of the kathi roll I ordered. No big deal, she changed the order, showed me my updated receipt, and all seemed well. She also asked for a tip, which I gladly offered although found quite forward to ask for. I waited probably 15 minutes for my order. It's great to see everything is being made upon ordering. The worker called my name, read out my receipt items, and off I went with my food. I live in Haverhill, so it's roughly a 40 minute drive home. When I got home, two of the three items were wrong. No samosa chaat and no kathi roll. Instead, I had two samosas and a paneer chili curry with rice. I called up and expressed my concerns that my order was mostly inaccurate. I explained what my receipt said, and what food I had been given. I asked for a refund. I was told a manager would call me later tonight. 10 minutes later the same worker calls me back and tells me there will be no refund, because what I ordered and paid for was cheaper than the food cost for the incorrect items I was given. I pointed out this didn't matter to me - two of the three items were wrong and not what I ordered or paid for. I also don't eat rice! The worker again told me no refund because I had been given more expensive food than what I had paid for. I repeated that didn't matter - the order was wrong and not what I paid for. She then asked me to come back and exchange the food; I explained I just arrived home and it's a 40 minute ride between Mint and where I live. Not happening. I'm waiting for the manager to call me and make this right. Look, mistakes happen and I know restaurants are hurting right now because of the pandemic. But arguing with me about food cost when it's evident I was given the wrong food is ridiculous. And what is the point of tipping front of house, upon their request, when they don't even check the order? Not happy.

Patrick C.

Yelp
The food is good but over the last years it's getting slower and slower and slower.... Does it take 45 min to steam a single order of momos? No.

Soumita B.

Yelp
Ordered a few items for delivery like Momos, noodles, kathi roll and was pretty impressed with the taste. It definitely tasted the way it looked. One of the places I will look forward to return to in Boston!

Yelp
Terrible food. This is not what Indian food tastes like at all. I ordered 3 dishes from here recently and all three were bad. Naan was undercooked and raw. "Chilly" paneer was sweet like sugar syrup. Chicken tikka masala was was plain bad. Overall a big disappointment and felt like they just pulled something that was sitting there, tossed it some ketchup and sent it over. The restaurant really needs to get their act together rather than sending such bad food and charging almost $20 for each entre!!!

Muhammad C.

Yelp
Their lamb momos are great and more filling than other momo I've had. The wrapper on more than half of them were broken when served to me, but not a huge deal I guess. When I went, I was the only person in the restaurant. The order still took about 25 minutes to come out, so they're not very fast. I went back on another night when they had a few customers in the store. I stood at the cashier for almost 10 minutes without getting my order taken, so not a place I would recommend if you are in a rush.

Yelp
Was curious what Indian street food was like, so decided to hop in on a whim. Ordered the Kati roll, described as an "Indian burrito" in two filling/flavor types - the paneer tikka masala and the lamb curry. The cheese was decent tasting, though the tikka masala sauce was probably a bit too rich. Oddly, the flavoring wasn't spiced quite right - either missing spices or had a mix of spices that didn't fit well together. Also odd, both rolls had too much sugar, much beyond expectation. The lamb curry was also decent, but again too sugary. Most of the lamb bits were a bit tough, though some were very good. The onion and pepper mix needed to be sliced more evenly - some slices were thin enough, but some were thicker, giving a feel of chunkiness when eating. I look forward to trying the other things on the menu.

Yelp
Really disappointing food. We used to be regulars here and the quality of the food does not justify the price. Unnecessarily expensive for both the quality and the quantity of the food. The food was tasteless and honestly, not at all worth it. I will unfortunately not be eating here again and cannot recommend this place anymore to people I know.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Damn it. Kati rolls are so amazing, it sort of blew my mind when I had it. It definitely turned into one my most favorite things. It did remind me of the Indian style burrito that I had in Cali, but this one was a bit different as it was smaller and it was made with an egg cooked with the tortilla. Anyways, Mint Indian Eatery was a place I saw that was within the hotel shuttle distance so I decided that we should check this place out since we were in the area. And it did not disappoint. When we got here, there were only like 6 or 8 tables there and that was it. It was a take out spot, as you can also order through GrubHub. But, coming here was an experience in itself because we got to talk to the owner and he got to explain what momos were as well. It was different and sort of nice. Now to the food. You already know what I had. I had two, yes two, kati rolls. One was chicken tikki masala and one was lamb. To top it off, we decided to order momo's. Now I have to say, even though i'm very biased when it comes to it, soup dumplings (xiao long baos) reign supreme. But, this isn't too bad... I believe that there was too much breading, but that's just me. That was one of the big differences between the two, one has soup, one doesnt. The momos didn't have any soup to it, and to me the soup dumpling just gives you that extra that blows it out of the water. So is it worth it? Hell yes. We actually ordered as a take out the next week or the same week, as there was snow and we didn't want to go anywhere. I didn't feel like driving and we didn't want to deal with the cold. If you're in the area, and you want to try some quick Indian food, this place is your spot. If you want it delivered, the experience isn't quite the same, I highly recommend to eat at the restaurant over the delivery.

Yelp
After ordering lunch online, my food was ready well before the estimated time and delicious. The serving size was well worth the cost and I will be going back quite often. I ordered a chicken korma lunch and it came with two large naan and plenty of rice - all great.

Durvank Y.

Yelp
Poor delivery and wrapping! I had ordered via ubereats and the mango lassi was as in the picture Also order chicken momos and though they were packed right, they were thoroughly uncooked. The sauce accompanying was okay though So visit/order to taste the sauce. One additional star is complimentary as this is the first time I ordered - will revise to single star, if I ever order again/ visit

Maria M.

Yelp
I am in love with this place. Very simple and nice ambiance. Good service. Anything I've ever tried has been good. To top it all prices are very reasonable. Must try their Papri chaat, momos and combo platter. Enough servings to share especially combo platters.

I P.

Yelp
Love their chicken chili momos! So rich in flavor - nice and spicy. Also the Chicken Curry Kati Roll was the yummiest comfort food I've had in so long. Another plus about this place is that I had ordered the food online, parked in front, the food was done in 10 and the guy working there offered to bring the food to my car when I called to ask when it would be ready since I was parked in front. I've been there before, and have found the food consistently delicious, which feels unique these days. Highly recommend!

Charlo M.

Yelp
I've only eaten here once, but it was worth a review. The chicken Tina masala was delicious. The dumplings we ordered were a first for us and also very good. We ordered a paneer dish that was also a new one for and everyone enjoyed it. I will definitely return.

Prakash V.

Yelp
On 8/19 I ordered crispy spicy chicken roll and tadka daal from Mint Indian Eatery. It wasn't a crispy chicken roll that was packed for me but the roll they packed for me was very tasty. I think I'm going to try other items from this place.

Manuli T.

Yelp
This place has never disappointed me. They are very small eatery but serve absolutely amazing food even during pandemic. Their samosa chaat is mind blowing. I have ordered Paneer Kathi roll, veg Hakka noodles, veggie momos, etc., I hope they continue to maintain high standards and deliver great food which I am sure will resonate from the streets of Bombay when you have it . Thank you Mint

Dave C.

Yelp
These momo are as good (if not better) than those at .. other locations (hint: with momo in the name) ... in a frustrating world of inflation that must be very difficult for restaurants to contend with, this restaurant still provides good food for a good and fair price. Only (personal) problem is sticking with the same favorites every time + not trying a wide variety of things... chicken tikii masala kati roll is definitely a favorite. Some reviewers make me laugh ... "I know it's a tough time for restaurants blah blah blah ... BUT I WILL STILL GIVE ONE STAR because I have no real decency or empathy and my words are semi- if not altogether empty .... look, sorry you got the wrong item .. mistakes happen ... move on + get on with your life, maybe ?

Yelp
After passing by the storefront right off Powderhouse many times, we finally found the time (and hunger) to pop in and see what Mint is about. I have to admit I was curious: with all of the flavorful and exotic herbs & spices in this type of cooking, why call an Indian/Nepalese restaurant Mint? The space was empty around 5:30pm on a Sunday, but a steady stream of people came in to pick up orders, so it seems like more of a take-out place. But I encourage you to sit and stay a while. There are a few tables as well as window stools, some cute decor, and the best part: free milky masala tea! A large thermos, small cups, and sugar are waiting in the window, ready for you to pour yourself a cup and relax. That's reason enough for me. I'm horrible at making decisions, so I asked the girl behind the counter for her recs, and she said the thali and the momos were most popular. When I followed up by asking which dishes exactly, she didn't seem to understand the question (or just didn't want to play favorites). So we just picked what sounded tasty and hoped for the best. We got a thali with channa masala & crispy spicy chicken, which includes basmati rice in the tray and a side of daal (spicy lentil soup). We also ordered the curry chicken kati roll to share. The thali had great flavor, not lacking in spice but not overpowering, and a good value for the amount of food. But what blew me away was the kati roll. The flavors of the chicken, veggies, thin layer of egg, and mint chutney mixed in a way I had never experienced. And there was the answer to my initial curiosity: MINT CHUTNEY. It was otherworldly, and I had to try my hardest not to inhale the entire roll. You can order a variety of of the entree options as a roll, so hang tight as I work my way through the minty menu...

Diana N.

Yelp
I ordered a chicken tikka masala and it was lovely! Definitely a fantastic find in Medford. Parking was extremely easy to get around 2PM on a Friday. There's about 6 tables to sit inside. The basmati rice was fluffy. And the chicken tikka masala was tender ad flavorful. I wish I had asked for more spice - I'll definitely do that next time! I noticed that Mint is on an app called Food for all - it's great that they are dedicated to not wasting food!

Yelp
Adding our review after our second visit here. The restaurant is small but there has always been seating available. The good: Definitely recommend getting the chatt (appetizers)! The samosa Chatt is our favorite and the best in Boston/Cambridge/Somerville. The samosa isn't overly greasy and the tamarind sauce is good. The okay: the kati roll was interesting as it's a paratha roll with egg. If you aren't a fan of raw onions, maybe ask for them on the side. The Thali plate was ok, we tires the saag paneer and the chana masala. The plate comes with a lentil soup which was really greasy and not our favorite.

Yelp
Mint Indian Eatery is a small, simple and inexpensive Indian restaurant. Came here Sunday for lunch, was surprised just how small and empty the restaurant was but impressed with the cleanliness and simplicity. Ordered the combo with lamb curry and chicken chili with rice and a side of dal (complimentary). Could have added the Samosa for $2.00 but I was not interested. The lamb was great! Tender good size chunks of soft lamb, honestly surprised by the amount of lamb. The chicken chili was something I'd never had before so can't compare but thought it was rather salty for my taste with a hint of sweet and spicy. The red peppers were good, the chicken was coated with something I couldn't identify, possibly chickpea flour or wheat flour. I didn't ask if it was gluten free. My fault. Wouldn't order it again. Over all for $13.00 I was happy the lamb curry, would definitely get it. There are a lot more options to choose from next time. The staff person who took my order was super nice and worried when I asked about spice level, nice to know you can adjust the levels. Next time I'd personally increase the spice. Large portions, good food and nice staff. Can't ask for more!

MJ H.

Yelp
This is THE BEST indian food I have ever had, and it's soooooo close to our house. Dangerous! Our new neighbors recommended it, and we've had it 3 times since we've been here. The food is fresh, seems to be quite authentic, and has a lot of great choices not usually seen at other indian eateries. (Papdi chaat, hellllooooooo get in my belly). Their momos are superb. The thali combo platter is a steal! They also have complimentary tea at the front entrance so you can sip while you wait. They do have a few seats if you'd like to stay, but this really is a take out place, so I'd plan on delivery or pick up.

Christine J.

Yelp
I got upset stomach after eating here. And I'm very tolerant of spices/different flavors. But no, i had to toss 1/2 of the food out. I ordered the combination plate with you choose 2 entrees and it came with rice/thin nan like item and a small cup of soup. They all tasted fine (not amazing) but the fact it wasn't fresh shouldn't have happened. I'm gonna stick to my neighborhood gem (inman sq Punjabi Dhaba) instead of coming back here.

Hari K.

Yelp
oh hello! I was looking for Indian food earlier in the afternoon and came across this area! so delicious, we ordered the chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, paratha, and garlic naan. the two entrees came with basmati rice and everything was so good that my friend and i were just bursting at our seams! we loved it!

Doug B.

Yelp
A small Indian joint, just off of Powderhouse Square. It humbly displays its award from the Boston Globe - "20 Top Spots for Cheap Eats". Imo, the windows should be plastered with many more awards like it. That is because this place fuckin' slaps. It's tiny, and god damn, it must be authentic bc every. single. item. is. unique. and. ABSOLUTE FIRE. Hats off to these generously-priced decadences of traditional Indian dishes... and maybe modern? I'm not sure. Hats off to Mint!

Rima K.

Yelp
Compliments to their chole bhature and chicken korma! I was very impressed this second time around

Neha T.

Yelp
Such a great little gem of a place! Hearty portion sizes for delicious and different types of Indian foods- chaats, momos, kati rolls, curries, plus indo-chinese noodles. I swear I've not had better samosa chaat in Boston so far. You have got to try this dish out- hot and fresh just like how street foods are meant to be eaten! Their paneer tikka kathi roll was OKish, the paneer was nice and well marinated so it didn't feel like I was simply eating salted paneer with some veggies in a tortilla. I was so excited to see Hakka noodles on their menu and I went for it. Very spicy and hot but totally worth it! Overall this place even for a Thursday evening was very busy, the phone rang every 2 minutes and there was a customer coming through the door every 5 minutes to pick up a phone or online order. I could see how hard the restaurant folks were working to keep up with all the orders. Tips: 1.Please order through their own website minteatery.com instead of ordering from third parties. These have bigger margins and with the cheap food prices the restaurant does not make much money at the end. 2. Definitely try their CHAI! it's probably not on their menu because it's free and it's neatly kept in a big thermos bottle at the back of the restaurant along with sugar and tiny cups (yes for cutting chai!) It has Elaichi or cardamom, it's super delicious! 3. Call ahead of time, like give them 30 minutes atleast.

Xiuzhen T.

Yelp
Great Indian place, food is authentic and on point. The restaurant is very small so it's really just takeout or delivery. The only con would be the wait, food took a long time until done. If you're around the neighborhood then it's fine, you can just come back later but if you're just waiting there...you may be there for a while.

Andrew K.

Yelp
This little hole in the wall is an interesting mixture of Indian and Nepali fusion. The dal was different than what I was expecting and more like a chili. Besides the dal which wasn't my favorite (a bit strange and smoky), the food was delicious and affordable. My favorite was the tikki masala chicken (very buttery) and the buffalo mo mo's. The accompanying chipati was a little too fried but nevertheless delicious. The palak paneer was good too but very heavy with a very thick spinach. The thali box at $12.50 is a pretty good deal with more food than I could eat. Recommend the $1 extra for the big tasty samosa. The space is intimate and more of a lunch counter style eatery. Our food came about as fast as I would expect and service was fine (you pour your own water and tea).

Yelp
Five stars for the food, but one star for the service. My boyfriend and I walked in around 10:15 pm, there was few other people dining in. The woman at counter looked at us but then proceeded to ignore us. She didn't say anything, just went about packing an order for delivery. We waited at the counter for about 10 minutes before she even said anything to us.. she asked, 'take out right?' We had already planned to take it out, but she was basically telling us we could not dine in. She was extremely rude throughout the entire encounter. Maybe it was late at night and she just wanted to go home, but she was making me feel unwelcome. Aside from the staff, the food is delicious. We ordered chicken momo with chili, chicken vindaloo, and the combo platter with chicken chili and lamb curry. First off the chicken momo was very flavorful, looking at the chili sauce you would think all the flavor is in the sauce but when you bite into the dumpling, the ground chicken and spices has a lot of flavor in itself. The amount of food you get in the combo platter is well worth 12.50. There were no options to pick level of spice on the food, I would say everything was made about medium spicy. I would try the food again, but probably order pick up to avoid as much interaction as possible with the staff.

Yelp
So one day I was having trouble parallel parking and this gentleman comes over and helps me maneuver into the spot. We get to talking and he tells me that he's Nepali and I tell him how I grew up in Jackson Heights, a neighborhood with very high Nepali/Himalayan population. He told me he was Muslim, and I was talking to him about how my mom recently stopped eating non-halal meat at restaurants, and it's been difficult to find halal options for a lot of stuff. I was saying how there were plenty of halal momos (himalayan dumplings) in Jackson Heights but I didn't know of any in Boston and he suggested this place. The restaurant is pretty small with not much street parking in the front, and it's definitely more for takeout. If you dine in, you'll just be given the food in take out containers anyways with no plates. The menu is decently sized ranging from kati rolls (South Asian equivalent of burritos with a paratha as the bread), momos, chaat (a savory appetizer), Hakka (referring to Indo-Chinese not actual Chinese-Hakka) dishes, and typical Indian curries and biriyanis. After a conformation from the person behind the counter that the food is halal, we ordered Buffalo Chilli Momos, a Spicy Crispy Chicken Kati Roll, and vegetable Hakka noodles. The Kati roll was pretty small but packed full of flavor. The crispy chicken had softened from being wrapped up with a spicy wet masala vegetable curry but all the flavors worked together really well. Probably the best kati roll I've had in the Boston area. If you were to go and just get a kati roll, I'd suggest you get 2 if you hungry. The vegetable Hakka noodles were pretty uneventful. Some medium thickness noodles on the al-dente side. I wish they cooked these for like a couple minutes longer. But it didn't taste bad, and it'll fill you up. The buffalo momos covered in chilli were 10/10. They come with 8 momos stuffed with spiced buffalo meat and covered in a tomato and onion sauce. If you've never had buffalo meat and are hesitant to try it, it tastes nearly identical to beef. If somebody gave it to you and didn't tell you it wasn't beef, you wouldn't be able to tell. The chilli sauce isn't too spicy but has a little kick and the momos look beautiful covered in it. The downside is that it took forever for this dish to come out, at least 25-30 minutes. But you could tell it was freshly made, and was definitely worth the wait. The sit down experience isn't fantastic, but I wish I lived closer so I could order take out from here all the time.

Great local spot, have tried many items (garlic naan, veg samosa, veggie korma, aloo gobi, aloo mutter, chana masala, chicken saag, chicken tikka masala, paneer tikka masala, tadka daal, chili chicken momos) on the menu with their thalis, which are a great value and they're all excellent. Prices have gone up a few $ during COVID, but happy to support their delicious food.

Yelp
ORDER AHEAD! Call them beforehand to put in your order because the food takes forever to come out. Food was great, service and execution needs work. The lady in the front was so busy juggling the phone and customers in the restaurant. The phone rang non-stop. It took us 10 minutes to put in our order and another 30 minutes to get our food. Not a fan of the wait. Onto the food-- Thali (pick 2 entrees for $12.50): comes with rice, daal, roti, and samosa (+1 dolla). I got the chicken curry and paneer tikka masala. The chicken in the chicken curry was very tender and juicy. The star of the meal was definitely the paneer tikka masala. Super soft paneer and the gravy was AMAZING, I could drink that stuff. Velvety and a little sweet, it was perfect. The samosa was pretty good too. Kati roll with spicy crispy chicken: my partner enjoyed his kati roll and it was pretty spicy. The chicken looked like it was fried, but was in no way crispy. Buffalo (bison) chilli momo: Nepali dumplings that were steamed and drenched in chilli sauce. It wasn't spicy and had good flavor. The sauce was slightly sweet. My partner really liked it, I think I'm just not a fan of momos. I would try the fried momos though. It looks like they make dishes to order, so it's not cafeteria style where everything is pre-made. Chai tea is complimentary (find it by the window). It's a nice touch. Not sure how often they refill. Highly recommend the thali (w/ tikka masala) and calling ahead!! And if you don't like hearing the phone ring throughout your meal, do take-out.

Yelp
This place max me love Indian food. The best thing they have probably chicken masala , I tried same dish in a different Indian restaurants but Mint was the best so far.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for Indian take out. Sometimes I get delivery, sometimes I go pick it up. It is very reasonably priced and very tasty. The portions are enough for me to have 2 meals! I get the Paneer Tikka Masala, and it is creamy and rich. Sooo good. I also love how if I order two entrees, they pack everyone their own rice container so no one takes too much at once from a single container (looking at you dear husband). I would eat here every day! They also have Indian street food that I keep wanting to try.

Yelp
This stingy restaurant didn't even offer utensils. What was I supposed to do, drink my curry and rice?! He gave only one bread after ordering multiple entrees... Stingy restaurant. Don't eat here, Trader Joe's has better quality microwave dishes.

Yelp
The best Indian food aside from homemade ones from my dear friends. I couldn't help it and ate half before the photo. It's so good!!! The combo plate is so worth it. Plenty of food for 1 or even 2 meals. Yum! Chicken Tikka masala is creamy, savory, flavorful and the chicken is not dry. The Chana saag is tender and flavorful. Normally I loath whole chick peas but it's so tender and soaks up all the flavors you can hardly tell you are eating chick peas. I prefer my naan baked. They only have the skillet cooked type but still good :). 5 stars all the way for dinner. I got a katie roll awhile back for lunch. It needed more sauce but very filling and good still. Update: super fast delivery! Consistently good food. Yum!

Yelp
Excellent Indian food. The absolute best Indian restaurant in the area and I've tried them all! Everything is incredible especially Kati rolls and chaat. Been coming here for years and never once been disappointed.

Yelp
I got the chilli momo's and the chicken chilli kati roll. Momo's were very good. A spicy tomato based sauce with peppers and onions. Hit my spicy fix. The kati roll was dissapointing. Good flavor, but the chicken was very dry and stringy. Like it was sitting around for a while. Def would go back for the momo's though.

Yelp
I ordered a Lamb Korma for $12.99. Handed the gentleman $14. No change. Not a big deal. Its 20 cents maybe he overlooked it. I ordered mango lassi for $2.50. Handed the gentleman $3. Once again, no change. I ask the gentleman "isn't it $2.50? Wheres the change?". "Yea, but tax you know." Ok so with tax it would have been $2.65. Feels a bit grimy that they are rounding up on every transaction and not even giving people change anymore. "Because tax you know." No, thats stealing. Unless you're donating it to a charity to save homeless kittens. But they're probably not. Anyway, Im eating with a friend and he mentions to the gracious gentleman who refuses to give change, that his appetizer never came, that we are finished eating, preparing to leave, and would like to be refunded for the missing appetizer. He suddenly rushes into the backroom, scrambles for a few moments, comes out and says that the food is ready. We say it's alright, the food did not come on time and we would like to be refunded. This results in a 10 minute stand off where the man continuously and relentlessly persists that we take the food to go, because its already made. Completely missing the point that it was an appetizer and was not ready until we were preparing to leave. He ends up angrily giving us the money back. We leave. Was quite an unpleasant experience.

Yelp
Yes! This place is amazing. Indian street food for a reasonable price. The Kati rolls are $6 and are delicious! Both the chicken chilli and lamb curry were well worth it. They were full of flavor, and the chicken had a small but pleasant kick. I will definitely come here again! Tip: if ordering take out, call or text ahead! Mint gets a lot of orders at times.

Yelp
Great cheap lunch spot. Only a few tables, but we got one on a Sunday afternoon. The food is delicious, and you are served plenty. Also, they have free masala chia tea while you wait. Their main meal let's you choose two entrees. I went with chicken masala and chicken curry. The masala was pretty good, the chicken curry was excellent. Tons of vegetarian options and a friendly staff makes this place a must. We will definitely be back coming back.

Yelp
Best deal on Indian/Himalayan food in the area- been here twice and the food is amazing and especially a great deal for the thali plate- 2 entrees, rice, amazing dal, bread, and a samosa all for ~$13. Definitely call in your order ahead and give them even longer than they say it will take because I've had to wait a while both times I've ordered, but definitely worth the wait plus free chai! All of the vegetarian food I've gotten has been amazing: palak paneer, paneer tikka masala, Kati rolls you really can't go wrong. I thought the momo were good but not amazing, the thali platter is definitely the best deal with the best food options.

Yelp
Kati rolls, momos, and Indian combination plates. Mint Indian Eatery, in Somerville's Powderhouse Square, is the ideal casual dining experience. With a few tables and plenty ordering takeout/delivery, the food is served somewhat quickly on a busy Saturday evening. Wait with some complimentary chai tea with milk. As winter brews outside, the flavors inside Mint Indian Eatery warm the soul. Start with a kati roll - think Indian burrito. The paratha wrap, cooked with egg, is similar to naan but a little smoother, mixed with the filling of your choice. Lots of mint notes. Aloo gobi filling with curried potatoes and cauliflower is satisfying. Have not tried the momos yet but they look delightful. The combo platter (thali) includes not one but two entree choices with basmati rice and dal. Chicken chilli has an almost Chinese-like flavor and texture with plenty of peppers and onions in a think chili sauce. The chana masala is hearty with plump chickpeas blended in a tomato sauce. Lamb curry and palak paneer are the highlights as the cubed lamb is very tender and the curry sauce is the perfect consistent without being too oily. Plenty of spice and the best to pair with the basmati rice. The palak paneer is essentially saag paneer with creamy (not runny) spinach and cubes of mild paneer cheese. Dal (lentils and pinto beans) brings the meal together with soup-like precision.

Yelp
If I didn't already live close, I would go through the hell of moving just so I could eat here regularly. Food here punches you with wonderful flavors. You leave with both your tummy and wallet happy! They have curry wraps which are atypical because curries are so saucy, but the chicken curry wrap was saucy, neat, and flavorful all at once. I thought there was a generous amount of chicken and veggies in my wrap and was beyond satisfied. Can't wait to try the lamb and paneer wraps in my next visits! For dessert, I had the mango lassi which was creamy and tasted like real mangoes were used! There was an acidic touch to the drink which made it taste really fresh and light. Staff was extremely friendly, patient, and helpful. Everything about this place is highly recommended!!!

Yelp
Ordered veg chilli momos and they were undercooked. Let the Manager know that they were undercooked and he explained that half cooked momos are added to the chilli gravy. I showed him the raw momo pieces and he didn't seem to care and went back to his job. Not coming here again. So much for "one of the 20 best cheap eats in boston".

Yelp
I ordered for delivery the chilli momo's and the combo chicken vindaloo and Aloo Gobi. Momo's were very OK, a bit disappointing as the sauce was not spicy at all, but a tomato based sauce with peppers and onions. The Chicken vindaloo and the Aloo Gobi were tasty and good. I ordered them very spicy but they were pretty mild. I will give it another shot another time.
