Mint Sushi

Pardon my photo of the food. I was too excited. I took a few bites before I took the photo! I’ve eating here since 2016 everything is always consistent. The place feels that they actually care about you the costumer. The presentation is always spectacular on combo orders! Beautiful food, beautiful (and very clean) restaurant! Very kind servers. If ever business cared enough about their customers like Mint Sushi does. The world would be a better place!

This was our first time dining in because I normally order carry out. Service was awesome and it’s connected to their hibachi restaurant. They give you a regular menu and a sushi menu with a paper that lists all of their soups, appetizers and sushi rolls. You just write down the quantity of what you want. Sushi was amazing as always and crab Rangoon was really good also!

The presentations are done well. They did not seem to understand that we did not want to place our entire order at once. Number one, it would not have fit on the table, and number two, items would have sat quite awhile before we would have eaten them. Definitely will return though if we need a quick sushi fix.

My 8yr old and I went for lunch yesterday... EVERYTHING was so good and FRESH!! I dont like carrots in my Shrimp fried rice so he just fried some white rice for me, added onions and egg.. I knew from the look it was going to be good and it was!!! My daughter had the spicy crab sushi( I tried,very good) and octopus, which she enjoyed very much.. And I had a Mr. James roll!! Mr. James was sooooo good I had to order him to go!! This was our first time going and we will surely be back! Keep up the good work!

The food was a dream. Cooked with care. The service was friendly. Always attentive to the table. The atmosphere was quaint and cozy. Be ready to get close but it has a comfortable family feel. I really liked this place. I definitely recommend it.

This place is so tasty and their dishes come out so beautifully presented! The services is 5/5 stars! My husband loves all the variety of regular and specialty rolls and I love the variety of vegetarian sushi rolls. Not many sushi places have many options for vegetarians. This place is 5/5 for us one of our favorite! Their hibachi is delicious as well!

This was our first time dining here, but it won't be our last. We've eaten sushi for the last 20yrs, so we've had our fair share of good sushi, but this was great. It's now our go to sushi place when we're in town.

Great cozy little atmosphere inside, not what I was expecting from the outside. Pretty busy when we came (Tuesday night @7) but still got seated right away. Started with the Crab Rangoons and onion soup. Rangoons were crispy and hot. Onion soup was nice and flavorful. Spicy crab roll was good. Nice light roll to start with. Tempura California roll was hot and delicious. Very good crisp on the outside and warm center. Everything tasted really fresh. Plating was also very elegant and appreciated. We really enjoyed our little week night date night and will definitely be coming back to try more. Thank you so much for the delicious meal, great and attentive service, and absolutely great dinner!

So very glad the dining room is back open! We have missed Mint so much and glad to make it back for the best rolls and service in the entirety of Lee's Summit! They added more seating space and beefed up the staff count! Mr James Special Roll is still on the menu and still delicious as ever! Nom nom nom nom nom nom nom.

I think the most disappointing thing about here is the Kani salad, in the northeast when you order it, it serves at least two people. However, the plating was nice. They did a fine job at that, I am out of town and I can only compare this to Mr. Sushi, and I would say that this place, while smaller, is better than Mr. Sushi, I would repeat. The server mistaken "green tea" for "cheese", hilariously enough.

The sushi was very good and the presentation artful. The atmosphere is very plain, but every table was full which to me means that they focus all of their attention on serving good food. Our server was excellent. He was kind, prompt, unobtrusive, and got the orders exactly right. They can skip the complimentary fried dough dessert...it was not great. Just a minor detail.

Not pictured - volcano roll, which was amazing! Finally sushi, after 8 long pregnant months, I was finally able to eat sushi! Haven't gone to Mint Sushi. So my MIL decided for us to try it & it sure didn't fail! Safe to say, I'll be asking for more sushi tomorrow. Only thing my MIL noted was she tried to order for pick up & they stated there would be a pick up charge. So she went in to order in person. All of the 4 rolls were amazing, but I could have been good without the blaze roll. Add a side of ponzu sauce and it took care of business.

I love this place so much! Great cocktails, such creative sushi. I love all the fun flavors and ideas they put into their sushi and it tastes lovely. I just love this place!

Tempura shrimp roll was soggy. Eel sauce is an extra charge. One of the two eel sauces was crystallized. I've had better experiences at Mint. Not this trip though. It was a to go order. Also, prices have gone up and rolls look smaller.

Great little hole-in-the-wall that does a rip roaring take out business. Friendly, attentive staff. Food comes out quickly. I had the Black Dragon Roll, Daikon Maki which both were a beautifully presented and extremely fresh and delight to the taste buds. My partner is not a sushi lover and enjoy the red curry chicken. The appetizers, which are pretty much standard (good) crab rangoon and gyoza (pan fried) arrived at the table hot. The ambiance was fun. Pictures lining the walls of folks celebrating all kinds of occasions. Cute little strip mall favorite.

I always love ordering from here. The menu is large and has something for even the pickiest of eaters. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. Even when I order it for pickup, it's still fresh by the time I get home. The Ramune is so refreshing and has tons of flavor options. The employees are always cheerful and friendly. The restaurant is airy and light, while still feeling cozy. The interior design is unique compared to typical sushi restaurants, in a pleasant and inviting way. I have no complaints about anything at Mint. If I could, I'd probably eat here everyday; it's that great!

My son and I had a great time. It was delicious. Quick service, clean environment, and friendly staff.

Mint Sushi has considerable competition in the area in the way of sushi-hibachi style restaurants - for Sushi and Sushi Rolls and Sashimi I would choose Mint Sushi. Super White Tuna Sashimi was cold and tasty! Super White Tuna Sushi excellent! I decided on some deep fried Rice Rolls that I enjoyed very much. A California Roll and a Crab Roll. Service and Food Presentation were Good. The Ambiance is simple and unassuming. I see your carry out business is good as well! Thank You Mint Sushi!

Do not let the lack of a physical sushi bar make you second guess a stop here. What an amazing find. I am a sushi junkie and find a sushi bar in every city I visit. This was such a great surprise. They have a TV hanging on the wall in the corner scrolling through their specialty rolls and dishes. They were served exactly as pictured. The fish was fresh, perfectly prepared and delicious. The lunch roll special would be hard to beat anywhere. The rolls are each 8 pieces and affordably priced as two or three roll deals. I will be back anytime I'm in the Kansas City area.

It's a nice little place with ample seating. I had plum wine and a rainbow roll. Fish tasted pretty fresh. Great service.

After an exhaustive search we found it, the Sushi spot. Great food, big selection, nice ambiance and fantastic service! Look no further than Mint/Mr Sushi, you will like it!!

We are visiting from Colorado and my kids wanted sushi. The service was amazing and the food was delicious. I will definitely go back. We visit quite often and will make this a place we eat! Thank you!

This place is amazing!! Best sushi around imo! My husband and I go here quite a bit and we've also tried their hibachi and it did not disappoint. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming as well! Love it here

Love this place! Very good sushi in a little place that you wouldn't expect. My wife and I have been here twice and will definitely go back! We have not had 1 roll that we didn't like. Great service, great food, and small and quiet. What more could you ask for?

This is some of the best sushi I've had in the region. Although the space is small the food is mighty. The ambience is chill and calm. The service was quick and the staff were so nice.

I hate to say I'm disappointed... but I'm disappointed. There were great reviews so I decided to try. Ordered to go and they quoted me 35 minutes until it was ready because they were busy. I come in and they say okay they're still working on that you can take a seat, I asked if they know how much longer because I got there 40 minutes after I was quoted 35. (I didn't ask with attitude, I work in the industry too so I was genuinely just curious.) They said okay we'll get it right out to you, and they had it out to me in less than a minute. So 5 stars for good service It was a tempura roll. Small, and that's okay. It was good However, if you're going to charge for spicy mayo- give me an amount worth charging for. They put it in the smallest ramekin known to man. It wasn't even enough for one roll, I had to get another just to finish my one roll of sushi lol. They charged me a dollar for maybe 1/4 an oz of spicy mayo Lastly, I start eating my edamame and none of it was hot. Most of it was still cold, and I'm talking like it just came out of the fridge cold, not like it had been cooked a while ago and sitting. I guess I could've caught them on an off night... it just made me sad because I was really excited for good sushi and for the price I paid, I wish I would've saved my money

This is the only sushi place I like here. Recently moved from California and have tried maybe 3 different sushi places. I am so happy my search is over! I got the Thai tea which was really delicious! The servers were very attentive and polite! I didn't get a picture of the chicken and rice but they were also very delicious! Will definitely come back soon.

First time trying it & it was great! We got the Boston Bay Roll & the Volcano Roll. We loved both of them! Crab Rangoon were pretty dang good too!

Wonderful fried rice and chicken hibachi. This is N eat I. Restaurant without hibachi grills. Out waitress was very attentive and helpful. She even brought a sample of the house made salad dress for me to try and if was amazing!!!!

We got take out sushi rolls and sashimi for 4 people and it was all amazing! The salmon sashimi was so fresh and buttery The tuna was also perfectly fresh. The eel roll and spicy tuna roll were soooo delicious! Service is great and very friendly We will definitely be back!

I've been to many sushi places but Mint will always be ranked number one! Even with many competitors around they never fail to be the best

The sushi was FANTASTIC! We got a huge order of rolls and sashimi to take out to my sister as her first meal after having a little baby girl. Everything was fresh and tasty, they made sure we had what we needed, and the prices aren't bad at all. Perfect takeout sushi experience

The food was amazing and the presentation really catches your eye. Service was spectacular!!! Loved how zen the environment was!! Definitely coming back here after a long day

This place is amazing! The staff were friendly and helpful, everyone was super nice. The food was perfect! Beautiful presentation, the food all tasted amazing and exceeded all my expectations. I particularly enjoyed the raw rolls, we tried five different ones and every single one of them were amazing and would order them again. ​The appetizers are great the soups were great we will definitely be returning.

Mint sushi may have some of the best sushi I've had in the KC area. We ordered the spicy crab salad and the crab stuffed jalapeños. They were absolutely delicious! When our sushi came to the table, the plate came decorated with the accompanying sauces. This attention to detail makes it feel like the person preparing the food truly cares about what is being served. The sushi was perfection in taste and presentation. The service was great and the atmosphere was super quiet which was amazing! I can't wait to come back and try more options on the huge menu!

3 words: Boston Bay Roll. Period. House salad and crab Rangoon are pretty good, too.

Good food, fair prices. The quality of food isn't quite excellent, but I feel the price they have set for their food is decent for the quality you get. I haven't necessarily had a bad experience here. I've ordered many times, ate inside, or took to go. The service is always quick and friendly. Things I don't particularly love include the thick spaghetti noodles used for the teriyaki noodles. Thinner more authentic noodles would be much more enjoyable like the kind they had before covid. The crab rangoon appetizer has also unfortunately turned unenjoyable as well, low quality tasting sauce, as well as only cream cheese (no crab, chives/green onion, or spices like other authentic versions). 1000% would say Mali Thai Bistro has the best tasting crab Rangoon and dipping sauce in Lees summit! However, I do like the sushi, specifically the Boston bay roll, spicy crab roll, tootsie roll, deep fried california roll. The mochi is pretty good as well as the dessert donuts.

I was here with a friend because we were at an event in another part of the strip mall and needed to eat first. We both like sushi so she suggested we try Mint. When we got inside the place was jam packed with nowhere to sit and wait for service. We were going to get takeout and had to stand in the middle of the main room, in between tables of people eating dinner, while we waited for our order to be ready. It was a really uncomfortable experience. We felt like we were in the way. It took 30 minutes to get our food (yes, with us standing in between the tables that whole time because when we asked them to phone us when it was ready they said they couldn't do that but we could wait outside in the 90 degree heat if we preferred.) . That aside, the sushi was also not good. Some had that funky spoiled fish smell so we chose not to eat that one, and the scallop that I did have was rubbery and gross. I was not impressed and will not be back.

When you're in spaces like the Midwest, you really can't be too picky with the options for Asian dining. My friends and I were all craving some sushi before a big event so we drove out to the nearest spot for fishies. Low and behold, we stumbled upon this spot which features my favorite color- mint green! In fact, if you have a problem with the color green, then you may want to back away slowly. The interior here is littered with green accents. Mint Asian Cafe not only focuses on American sushi as their selling point, but they have a variety of Chinese influenced dishes as well. Their lunch specials were what attracted us initially. You could order three rolls for about $10 and it also comes with soup. Splurge a little further and you can opt into a stir fry with some rolls. My lunch plate came with a shrimp tempura roll, salmon roll, and tuna avocado roll. Each was fairly simple by design and tasted as I expected. While they weren't anything to rave about, the fact that the sushi was done well in an unlikely spot makes me a fan. I'd recommend trying out some of their specialty rolls since they delivered with the simple ones. Free parking is available in a massive dedicated lot outside.

Simply put The very best around. We have been going there since they opened and no one compares to the quality and service you get there. Johnny, Shelly and Justin are amazing.

We have been CRAVING sushi since the pandemic started so we decided, finally, to get some last night. We had never tried this place before, nor had we ever tried sushi as take-out, so we weren't sure what to expect. The online ordering process was super simple and the order was accurate and was ready on time. We ordered several different things, from sushi to sashimi, a Kani salad, jalapeño appetizer, and rolls. The fish wasn't as fresh-tasting as we'd hoped and I think it probably makes a difference that it wasn't super cold like we would get with a dine-in experience. But it just wasn't great. We thought the jalapeño appetizer was really good, even not being fresh at the table. I'm sure it would be even better freshly fried at the restaurant! The rolls were pretty small. The spicy girl roll was teeny and not spicy at all, which was a little disappointing. The kani salad also lacked some flavor. Overall, nothing was was very flavorful or fresh. I'd be willing to go back once the dining room reopens - maybe it just wasn't great as take-out. Worth a second chance, though.

Love their hot and sour soup they're always so friendly. It's sad they're not open on the inside anymore because their food is very good.

Got the pick 2 rolls lunch special, with the tootsie roll, snowman roll, and a miso soup. Everything was delicious, food was ready even though I arrived earlier than it said, and the staff was super nice and helpful. I hope they can reopen their lobby again because I'd love to come sit and eat here with friends :)

Love their sushi! My favorite rolls are Boston Bay Roll and Fire Island. Delicious! Cute setting as well!

Never let's me down. The mango cream sauce is incredible on the mango tempura roll. And I love the birthday photos on the walls! Been here for a decade now. If you haven't tried it you need to.

The lunch special here for sushi is the best bang for your buck. 3 rolls for $16.95 - it's not the full sushi menu but it still has a pretty good selection of cooked and uncooked options to suit any taste. We got dinner here and unfortunately, it wasn't really worth it (price wise) for the same meal. Even though you do get the full menu of options, the lunch special was definitely a more cost efficient option.

Best sushi in lee's summit. High quality i credients and a reasonable price. This is a go-to for sushi cravings.

What an extreme disappointment. From the time you walk in the front door and it just goes downhill from there. Their take-out counter looks utterly ridiculous it looks like they're in a quarantine camp and they are scared to death of any human contact. The sushi quality was inexcusable I've gotten better at the grocery store. Definitely not grocery store prices!! I got my order in the car to look it over something I've learned to do and take out in this day and age! We had ordered several different roles there were exactly one soy sauce one tiny tiny container of ginger and wasabi together. No excuse for that. I went back in and told them I had several rolls and I would need more wasabi and soy sauce he offered me one each again. I told the young man this is ridiculous how was I going to share two tiny condiments with several people. Again he offered me two more tiny ones. They act as if it was gold. Nothing about this experience was good. What a disappointment when I got the food home never never again!!
