I chose to visit Mintish for the first time on Indigenous Peoples' Day -- a choice I made with purpose. It's Palestinian-owned, and I already knew the food would be rooted in care, culture, and memory. I wasn't wrong. It was extraordinary.
I broke my fast with their Mintish Cake Halloumi and a Pistachio Oat Milk Latte, and it felt like more than a meal -- it was ceremony.
The halloumi was golden, perfectly crisp, resting on a minty, herbal base that was layered, light, and deeply satisfying. It had that kind of flavor that unfolds slowly -- bright, grounding, and made with real intention. Every bite had me going mmm instinctively, not just from taste, but from the way it nourished something deeper.
Then the pistachio latte -- wow. They make their pistachio foam and toppings in-house, and it shows. It was creamy, earthy, not too sweet, and topped with crushed pistachio and house-made foam that tasted alive. The pistachio oil comes from Felestini, and that richness took it to a whole other level -- it felt like drinking a harvest.
The ambiance was perfect -- calming, clean, and thoughtfully designed, with that quiet kind of beauty that invites you to stay awhile. The staff were so warm, welcoming, and deeply knowledgeable -- happy to share about the ingredients and origins, which made everything feel even more meaningful. You can tell they care, and they're proud of what they create.
Mintish isn't just food -- it's nourishment, story, and resistance on a plate. On a day honoring Indigenous presence, strength, and survival, it felt powerful to be held by Palestinian hospitality and flavor, which carry their own ancestral depth.
I walked out full -- not just in body, but in spirit. This place is truly something special.
Go with intention. Let yourself feel it.
