I thought for the second time ever of me coming here that i would get good service and good food, but it was far the opposite. for one, why do they not have any drinks on their pickup menu even though you pay before you come? second, i call the store twice and no pickup, yet i text the owner on facebook and i get a reply right away saying they are busy. i go into the store, there’s two tables full. that’s it lol maybe like 4-5 people at each one. yet they couldn’t answer the phone at the main bar. my Fried green tomato BLT came with zero flavor and way too much breading, which looks like chicken breading. i also subbed my side for soup and still got tots. Ever since they moved to the nice side of town instead of the eastside they’ve been with terrible service. The owner is rude and talks bad about that side of town. What a great restaurant owner right? anyway, look at this disgustingness they called a fried green tomato. lol.

This place has been on my list and it was the perfect fall morning to sit outside with company. The atmosphere is really relaxing and the menu is incredible. Our waitress Lexi was very accommodating. I wish Lexington had more brunch spots like this one.

Very busy when we arrived. We're seated at the counter right away, otherwise a 30 minute wait. Sat at the counter for 15 minutes until we asked the nice girl who seated us, who was supposed to serve us? As there were many people running around. Ten minutes later our server came to take our order. He gave us a choice of coffee or French press. David chose the French press, i ordered ice tea not sweet. David's coffee order arrived, but he had no coffee cup to pour his french press in. We asked for a coffee cup from one of the employees stocking supplies behind the counter.. My tea was ice water with a little color of tea. When I could get our servers attention, as he was extremely busy, we asked if they could just warm the Coffee in a microwave as David had already added his cream and sugar. (His French press was cold) He said he would bring another french press set up.. So instead of bringing a French press, he brought a regular cup of very hot coffee. No worries, we are easy going. After a very long wait, our food arrived. By this time I was out of tea and didn't ask for a refill. It would have been nice to have a drink with my meal. David said his biscuit and Gravy were good. I can't say the same about my chicken and Waffle. Very small amount of syrup poured over the Waffle. No extra brought with the order. The chicken was in bite size over the Waffle which didn't have any flavor and looked really dark, like over cooked. My order was okay. I guess I just expect something really tasty for $18. Over all, our experience was okay. As an older person, I think this place is more for the much younger crowd. As there were 3 tables with college age and 30ish something that seemed to think they had to talk as loud as they could to talk over each other. Noise level was off the chart. I wish this establishment all the success in this business.

I went to Minton’s on a random Wednesday morning for brunch. There weren’t much people, because it was a random Wednesday obviously. The server was very friendly and we got seated pretty quickly. I got bottomless drip coffee on their hand made cute coffee cup. I got chorizo tacos with a side salad. It usually comes with Tater Tots but I substituted it for side salad (the least I can do to eat healthy lol). My wife got Tiramisu pancake and scrambled eggs. Overall, a good brunch afternoon!

I have been to the old Minton's a few times and wanted to check out their new location on National. Grabbed my daughter (her first time) and had some lunch! We ordered the Brunch on a Bun and some Pancakes with cinnamon roll icing on top along with Applewood bacon and a coffee (French Press). All new foods vs. what I have tried at Minton's before. FANTASTIC! The new location is a huge upgrade for space so much easier to enjoy a more private feeling meal and of course the service was also great. Assuming it's the owner that was our server, he has been my server every time I have gone at either location.

Google
Hired Minton's to cater an event I planned, coordinated, and hosted at our small event space. The options for my client were so unique compared to so many other local catering places. The food is southern, charming, and full of soul. The food was so delicious, the portions were great, and the delivery and coordination were seamless. Can't wait to work with them again!

Google
Great local restaurant in downtown Lexington. The service can be a little slow sometimes, but the food is great and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Great diverse food selection and new flavors you don’t see at your average breakfast/lunch joint.

Yelp
A friend recommended Minton's and I am glad! It's a cozy place with friendly staff and a menu with something for everyone. The coffee was great as was my brunch on a bun sandwich. The accompanying tater tots were cooked to perfection. I loved the unlimited water and coffee (they fixed me up with a coffee to go as well). I look forward to visiting again soon!

Yelp
It's a cute spot but was definitely firing on half cylinders. The service was very poor: we were seated and then forgotten about. Never checked in on us. Waited 30 minutes for our food and eventually had to go in and check on our meal. Pretty sure our server didn't even ring it up because it came out 5 min later super hot (so likely did a rush order). We even had to go in to ask for our check. The most disappointing part of service is they didn't tell us the specials and when another server told another table the specials, we would have ordered the sweet potato waffle with peaches instead. Womp womp. They were decently busy but not mobbed, but that's expected for a weekend. The food was disappointing. I got The Lucy: a vegan Italian sausage with vegan mac and cheese and tater tots (the vegan version of their signature dish). The sausage and mac and cheese were flavorless, and it was impossible to eat: way too much mac and cheese on top. I ate half because I was so hungry and we waited so long. The tater tots were crispy and tasty but fell apart as soon as you touched them making them hard to eat. My mom had the cinnamon roll pancakes and though the pancakes themselves were well made and fluffy it was just way too sweet with too much cinnamon sugar (yes cinnamon rolls are sweet but these were totally out of balance). We could only get through a few bites and left most on the plate. They really need to work out the service issues and balance the flavors of the food. Jeremy Ashby is such a talented chef that I'm disappointed and frankly surprised at this showing.

Yelp
Good food, friendly servers, and comfortable outdoor seating! I enjoyed Minton's and will likely be back. I recommend coming here for a solid breakfast.

Yelp
Cool location on National Ave. They have great outside seating space but may not of had the staff for outside seating. I sat at the bar and got coffee ($5 bottomless), chorizo tacos with Mac and cheese on the side. The Mac and cheese was ok. It needed a little more salt but was really cheesy. I feel like the tacos needed spice since they were chorizo and a touch more salt. The server was nice but it took longer than expected to get my food. I noticed it took a while for everyone. The server said they are waiting on a liquor license to serve alcohol.
google avatar

Drew G.

Yelp
The new location is great and as of March 23, 2025 they have not been issued their liquor license yet. Despite that they were busy and steady on Sunday at 1:00. They have an amazing menu and it's definitely not fast food service but it is worth the wait. I usually get the Breakfast on a Bun but this time I tried the Croque Madam which is one of my favorite brunch dishes but I had never tried it her

Yelp
We had brunch at Minton's for the first time. I got the savory French toast after seeing everyone rave about it on here. It was really good. It almost tasted like a breakfast pizza with the tomato jam and pesto hahahah. Then we got 2 variations of the French Toast breakfast. One with the berry compote and one with the banana pudding. The breakfast was great but the French toast was a little soggy. It wasn't my favorite. The service was excellent considering we came in fairly close to when they closed. They have great music playing and the location has parking.

Yelp
We drove by the restaurant initially only because it's a tiny little place (and the fact that me & hubby weren't paying attention AT ALL lol!). We got there at about 11am on a Sunday and got lucky getting a table because the place was busy. I said already it's a tiny space, seating capacity I would guesstimate around 30ppl max between the inside and outside areas... we dined inside. Sadly I did not take a pic of the inside of the restaurant. Diner-style service, pretty small menu, decent prices, interesting French toast creations. All male staff that day... service was good, a bit of a wait for the meals but not too bad. PROS -convenient location -friendly staff -casual diner/small country home setting -reasonable prices -interesting menu items CONS -my clothes smelled strongly of food (cooking smoke from the kitchen)... next time we'll sit outside! -food presentation was a bit inconsistent For the record, next time I'm in Lexington, KY I'm heading back over for the creative French toast options :)

Yelp
10/10 brunch spot! I can't wait to try more of the menu. I came here for a solo brunch and it was so good! There is a ton of seating (indoor and outdoor). I waited a little while for my food but I'm honestly not mad at it. These days food comes out so quickly, it doesn't seem made to order anymore. I'd prefer to wait 15-20 minutes at a sit down establishment if I know my food will be delivered hot and fresh. They also had a wonderful playlist!
google avatar

Ray L.

Yelp
I have been a longtime fan of Minton's food, and the quality did not change since they moved! The new space is larger and clean, The weather prevented us from exploring the patio space. Waitstaff was kind and allowed us to sit with drinks while we waited for a table to open up. Food was delicious as always from both the breakfast and lunch menus. It is hands-down my favorite brunch spot in town!

Yelp
Saturday was the grand opening of the new location on National Ave. It's nice, offers lots more seating, and sit down table service! I got tempeh tacos and my friend got tiramasu pancakes which is big and took most of it home lol. My tempeh tacos were pretty good. Both had coffee, good service. I look forward to seeing how this new location is in summer too, since there's garage doors that can open.

Martha H.

Yelp
I've been there twice. Each time, l have purchased the sweet potato waffles with their accompanying toppings. The first time I went, the topping was a generous scoop of their peach-bourbon-pecan creation. . Everything was fork-tender and was worth every penny of $17 for 1 medium waffle. It was delicious and is the reason I returned. A couple of weeks ago, l returned and ordered the same thing; but it's completely different. The peaches have been replaced with thin, skin-on apple slices which require a steak knife to cut, and the serving has been shrunk. Yuk. The people are extremely nice.

Yelp
Really delicious food, the main dining area can get a little loud when it's packed, but that's anywhere. Overall great service and fantastic food!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a wide variety of tasty options. Our server was very helpful and offered suggestions. We opted for the Savory tots which had just the right amount of seasoning with a lovely aïoli. We sampled the tomato bisque and were pleasantly surprised by the crunchy seasoned croutons. I ordered their special Fried Green tomato BLT which came with tots. The bread really made this sandwich a hit. My husband ordered their Tiramisu pancakes. They were good pancakes but tasted more like marshmallows with chocolate and the flavor was only on the top unfortunately. My husband and I agreed that the food was great and we would come back just because their menu has so many delicious options!
google avatar

Yelp
Unfortunately never got to try the food... which is too bad as the menu looked great and we were looking forward to meeting some friends for a birthday brunch. "Greeter" at the door first let us sit in the entry area since it was raining outside (even gave a menu to check things out). Then said - you can't wait there you have to go to your car. That's fine - just be consistent and not snarky about it. Careless and rude - fortunately there are lots of other places in Lexington for us to enjoy. I hope the dive bar ambiance works for their preferred customer base. We'll never know what we missed regarding the food ... I wish them the best and that all the other good reviews of the food are true...

Rissie G.

Yelp
Amazing food and professional staff. It has the most beautifully decorated Ladies room in Lex.

Yelp
ELVIS Pancakes!!! 10/10 All shook up for it! Friendly service, great atmosphere, vegan options, beautiful and delicious!! A little southern, with a classy, sophisticated touch. Chef Ashley and her team take virtuosity to a new level- simple done exceptional! At a time where you feel skimflation impact the plate, you don't experience that here. Consistently great service, even during expansion!
google avatar

Yelp
Line is usually to the door, but for good reason. Minton's is my wife and I's go to favorite brunch spot! Their "Brunch on the Bun" sandwich is an absolute game-changer. Imagine all your breakfast favorites packed into a perfectly toasted bun - it's a flavor explosion! Pretty quick to get through the line. The team is always hustling to provide great customer service, tasty food and attentiveness! Pro tip: Ask to substitute the chips for their hash brown casserole. Trust me, it's the best decision you'll make all week. Crispy, cheesy, and utterly delicious, the casserole takes this brunch experience to the next level.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
We recently ate at Minton's for the first time and it definitely lived up to the hype. To set the stage - Minton's is a tiny restaurant. There are only a few tables and food is made to order, which means you will likely have to wait. Expect this and plan for it. We managed to go at a time when there were actually only a few other people there and we still waited a bit for our food because again, it's made to order. The food is DEFINITELY worth the wait. I had the brunch on a bun and it was delicious - the perfect mixture of sweet and savory. The mac and cheese absolutely stole the show though. It was truly the very best mac and cheese I have ever had and I would eat it every day if I could.

Yelp
Food is great. The place is a cute cozy spot. Everyone should try then brunch menu. Service is excellent.

Yelp
Finally made it to Minton's! I'm in walking distance and this place is always packed. Made it in today and we ordered: Huevos Rancheros Brunch on a Buffalo Grilled Cheese Everything was absolutely delicious, even at closing! Hash browns were crunchy and cheesy, grilled cheese was buttery and crisp, brunch on bun had the most amazing bacon jam! We will be back!
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
The food is outstanding but the experience was dampened by issues related to an almost 50 minute wait in getting our food. No one spoke to us about the delay or apologized for the delay at any point. I also had to ask for coffee refills versus the server being proactive. Again, the food is great, the vibe is really lovely with the open doors and cafe' seating. I had the savory waffles with pesto, bacon and tomato jam. My husband had the Madam Croquette. I hope the service and kitchen issues get resolved. Fortunately, we were not on a time schedule today so we just waited it out.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday morning Very casual space. Small capacity. Quick service Great food. Would I return ? Yes. If I want someplace low key.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best unique brunch spots in Lexington. Their savory French toast when tomato jam is heavenly. The only downside of Mintons is that it isn't the best place for parking, but the food is divine.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped for breakfast this morning . (I've been wanting to go for a really long time ). She ordered eggs over easy , potatoes and toast . I ordered the tropical stuffed french toast which was pineapple and coconut . The portion is definitely generous and if I hadn't been such a pig it could have fed the both of us lol. It was so good that I ended up eating it all on my own. The guy at the counter was super friendly and patient while I debated between the tropical french toast or the Nutella banana stuffed french toast . They do have outdoor seating as well as several tables inside. Your tableware is in a metal container on the table which is quirky. I did get a quick peek at the small pastry case on the counter . Meh I wasn't drawn to getting anything in the case . On the way out we saw a gentleman with a HUGE stack of pancakes and all I could think of was I'm glad I didn't order pancakes because I probably would have eaten them all ! I'd definitely go back again and try lunch or dinner .

Yelp
I cannot say enough amazing ness about Mintons. I first came to Mintons last August for brunch and it holds a special place in my heart because it's where I told one of my closest friends I was pregnant. Fast forward to today with the same friend and we ate a delicious brunch. Today I opted for the savory French toast. Three large pieces of French toast with a delectable house made tomato jam, perfectly crisp bacon, and a delicious egg with pesto on it. The portion size is incredible for the price. Mintons is located right across the railroad tracks in an unassuming area but the inside is so cute with a chalk board having the menu on it. Space is small so get there early! But service is quick so your turnaround time is short. Of note, the French toast is so delicious that it's the only thing my almost toddler ate while feeling a bit under the weather with the umph she usually eats. Can't thank Mintons enough for that. The coffee is all you can drink! Take advantage!
google avatar

Emma G.

Yelp
One of my favorite breakfast spots in Lexington! The food is scratch made to order and sooo good. The staff is so polite and works so hard to make sure you get everything you need. The restaurant itself is fairly small so it's not great for large groups, but perfect for a weekend breakfast with your significant other. 10/10 recommend!
google avatar

Kaylee L.

Yelp
You better come hungry! This place was a little find when our group wanted both lunch and breakfast on a Friday morning. While I couldn't stop eyeing the pancakes that were stacked a mile high, I went with lunch. It was BERY hard to choose but the Buffalo chicken hit the spot. My group also go an omelette which was HUGE! Again, come hungry. You're going to leave happy no matter what you order.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Minton's is the best! All of the food is fantastic- blueberry cheesecake French toast, croque monsieur, Elvis pancakes, savory French toast. Service is friendly. Ambiance in the current space is cozy.

Yelp
We went for brunch Saturday morning. The young lady at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. We did call ahead and got seated within 25 minutes arrival. Parking is a bit of a hassle. Our waiter was Max, he did a good job until the food came and then he realized the food was not up to par. We ordered Mac/ribs, pretzel breakfast sandwich and a short stack of pancakes. Food took a really long time to come which we would have hoped was due to cooking perfection. The Mac cheese was better than most from a restaurant but the ribs were certainly not fall of the bone tender, we could not chew them or even bite through the meat ( terrible cook or if they were even done?)$21 for a bowl of Mac/cheese really. The breakfast sandwich I believe tasted as it was intended but the jam I with bacon could not be chewed. I ordered a small stack of pancakes $8, they came cold and one was hard like it had sat for awhile, I did ask for something hot which Max did gladly change. We left the restaurant disappointed in our choices of choosing this restaurant and the food we ordered . People know we try a new restaurant every other week and often ask our opinion. Unfortunately there were too many negatives to recommend Mintons 760 to those we know.

Alexandra H.

Yelp
The food was really bland, and overcooked. Got the bananas pudding French toast & chorizo tacos, wontons come again. They also forgot the syrup with the French toast, so much better at other places.

Liam M.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for a long time, and finally did. Very disappointing. It took almost an hour after we ordered to get our food. My brunch was bland and oily, my wife's was better, but nothing to write home about. The shrieking kid at the table next to use didn't help matters. Maybe we just picked a bad day to go, as this place seems to be very popular. But based on my first experience here, I can't think of a reason to go back.
google avatar

Christianna L.

Yelp
This was so good! The hash brown casserole was to die for and the rest was great. The service was great as well. It is a quaint little spot and was great for a chill morning.

Michelle E.

Yelp
Croque madam is out of this world! Seriously the crusty topping and gravy puts it over the top!
google avatar

Cory B.

Yelp
Decent food but very overpriced. You'll be paying close to $20 for what is essentially a somewhat souped-up hotdog. I'd only give it 3 stars if it was below $10 because it's still nothing particularly impressive. They have a nice selection of bottled soda.

Della A.

Yelp
All around fabulous! From the moment we walked in the charm of a boutique spot was amazing. The staff recommended delicious dishes. They were very attentive. We had the pressed coffee, Elvis pancakes and breakfast sandwich! We will be back to try the buffalo chicken grilled cheese.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
A tiny little cafe which offers Southern brunch fare. What was notable and surprising about it for me is that it was pretty vegetarian/vegan-friendly, which most such places are not. Their sweet brunch brunch options sounded awfully appealing, but on the day I tried them I had already had ice cream, so I went instead with a tempeh sandwich. It came with ample spinach, and a sauce that tasted distinctively southern, a sweet pepper sort of flavor. It also came with a side of crunchy salt and pepper chips. The tempeh itself had some whole chickpeas in it and was quite hearty and satisfying. I would definitely like to come back.
google avatar

David F.

Yelp
Tried Minton's 760 based upon other Yelp reviews. The omelette was tasty and delicious. The biscuits and gravy were good but the bacon was salty and the hash browns were a little too done. The Elvis Peanut Butter pancakes were thick and tasty. Might recommend a higher quality syrup. Service was friendly and great. The building looked worn and there was a limited number of tables. While a great brunch, we most likely won't return during future trips to Lexington

Katie B.

Yelp
Very dissapointed with my first visit to Mintons. The service we got was very mediocre for a slow Friday morning. One omelet was fair and the other was so raw it had to be sent back. And for $17 I think that there could be a side along with the unbuttered toast. But the WORST...No decaf coffee available! In a breakfast/brunch place? Not even available for the French press. Ridiculous! The menu is very interesting so I might try it again but not until they have decaf coffee.

Ann D.

Yelp
Go hungry...be patient. There's a reason why there's always a line from where you order to the door...the food is amazing and plentiful. There are some traditional brunch dishes and then some creative dishes to choose from. Had the short stack and hash browns...so yummy. Others had the cinnamon bun pancakes and sweet potato hash. We left stuffed and happy. Food is cooked to order so...be patient...you will get your food and it will be so worth the wait!
google avatar

Tom F.

Yelp
Great place for breakfast. Constant stream of customers, and lots of regulars. You ain't be disappointed with the quality and amount of food! Home made hot sauces are awesome, too!
google avatar

Allison A.

Yelp
Quality, comfort and charm. My favorite hidden gem and my go-to for a cozy breakfast. Minton's has a friendly, rustic neighborhood vibe--both given its size and the candor of the staff--and the comfort food to match, but elevated. Many dishes are a take on Southern comfort or classics, innovated with quality and flavor to make the dish stand out. It's a small place, but I relish going in on a sleepy weekend morning and being greeted with a familiar smile and an "of course" when I order the Chorizo Breakfast Tacos once again.
google avatar

Mel M.

Yelp
This place doesn't look very nice from outside but we gave it a chance and didn't regret it ! Food was really good and staff was very friendly
google avatar

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
I love this Lexington gem!!!! Keep in mind that it is a tiny place with both indoor and outdoor seating but if you go during a busy time, you will be waiting for a spot. Finding parking can also be a bit of a challenge but we tend to just park along the side. Also, note that this restaurant is dog friendly. Owners eat with their pets on the patio and there is a water bowl plus treats offered. If you aren't sure what to order, ask for a recommendation. They have yet to steer me wrong! Most recently, I've ordered savory french toast. The portions are generous and I was unable to finish them. If you prefer bacon cooked a certain way, be sure to let them know. I enjoy slightly chewy and firm, not crispy, and they did a great job. The employees are friendly and attentive. I wish I could give it higher than five stars!

Brett M.

Yelp
Food is really great and service is topnotch. It's small so you might have to wait or take it to go. If the weather is nice you can sit at the tables outside.
google avatar

Carrie B.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!!! I cannot believe we have lived in Lexington this long and not come here. Cute, and food to die for!!!!
google avatar

Landon L.

Yelp
This place has good service and is brimming with character. Huevos rancheros were excellent! Pancakes were solid. Would recommend coming early as there is limiting seating.

Elijah K.

Yelp
Amazing spot! We were in town visiting Lexington for the weekend and saw it as we were driving by! Amazing food and the staff were great and had awesome recommendations too!

Julie S.

Yelp
Their food is amazing! The exterior is deceiving. Just a little old and unassuming building. So delicious! We traveled thru Lexington last year and discovered Minton's. Their Savory French Toast is like nothing I've ever tasted. Back home, 600 miles away, I tried making it myself. It was ok I guess, but not even close to Minton's. It's their tomato jam that makes all the difference in the world. When planning this year's road trip, we made sure to pass thru Lexington to enjoy breakfast at Minton's again. I asked if we could buy some tomato jam to take home. They filled up a jar for me to purchase. Thinking it may not last long I asked if I could get my next jar shipped. The gentleman at the counter said he's pretty sure they can do that and gave me the business card of the owner. Eat at Minton's! You'll be so glad you did!
