Minturn Saloon

Minturn Saloon was a delicious Mexican dinner on a freezing January night. Our group of 6 snagged a nice enclosed booth and received excellent service the whole time. The menu had enough variety for most folks and the drink menu was similarly designed to have something for everyone. The margaritas and chips/dip appetizers we received were solid and our entrees were quite good. The fajitas were a standout, although I didn't adore the flour tortillas, and the popcorn a fun snack.

Amazing place! The food was excellent; great chef who works really hard. The atmosphere was lovely. You can tell the owners put a lot of money and pride into the renovations. We highly recommend this place. The squash enchiladas were to die for, and the fajitas were great. Our kids also loved it. Highly recommended!!!

Kasey and her team truly exceeded our expectations from start to finish. From our very first meeting through the wedding day itself, their attention to detail was outstanding. The food was absolutely delicious, and we loved the way it was served in small batches—it never felt like a typical buffet, and everything stayed fresh and inviting. The butternut squash lasagna ended up being one of the biggest hits of the night, even among the most devoted meat lovers in our group! The drinks were fantastic, and the staff brought such great energy and friendliness that they helped keep the celebration fun all night long. We couldn’t be happier with our choice of The Saloon for our reception and would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone planning an event.

Outstanding vibes and food to match Cornbread was very tasty, elote dip was excellent. I got the red chilli, which was quite good but a smallish serving, definitely benefited from the cornbread side

It's a flavorful limited menu. What they do, they well. We ordered 4 different plates and loved all of them!

Made a trip out to Minturn like we do every year and decided to pick up a few salads to go. Called in an order and the guy, Brian answers the phone and was rude right away. Then I ask if I can place an order to go and he says, “he’s not sure if he can.” Puts me on hold to check. Gets back on the phone and asks what we wanted to order. I told him it would be 4 Cesar salads with chicken. He yells to the kitchen staff and asks if they have time to make 4 Cesar salads with chicken because they are really busy. Someone tells back and says, “yeah! It’s only salads!” Then he asks, if there was anything else I wanted and I said no. He proceeds to tell me he can’t hear me. At this point I’m yelling at him telling him no. He then asks for my name and I say my name and again he’s telling me he can’t hear me even though I’m telling at him. Tells me I need to call back with a name then hangs up. So I had to call back twice to give my name and number. We decided to order food to go because it’s more convenient for us since we have a family member in a wheelchair and The Saloon isn’t wheelchair friendly. It was a little disappointing to experience such bad service at a place we enjoy going to. Especially after sending $96.52 on 4 Cesar salads with rude customer service.

Food was spot on! First day they served brunch and they hit it out of the park. Small adjustment suggestion would be to have a couple of kid friendly options. The inside is really e hectic and era correct. Short drive from Vail for a cold drink and great food.

10/10 do NOT recommend. Guy at the front was not friendly. Food was terrible. French toast from the brunch menu was hard and chewy like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The chilaquiles was a huge skillet full of soft chips and enchilada sauce that tasted like it can out of a can! There was hardly any meat with one egg on top. Salad was ok, but not a $20 salad. The value wasn't there. 3 mediocre entrees and 2 draft beers for $100. Edited to respond: inflation impacts everyone. Other establishments are still able to provide good food and service under the same circumstances. It's not the price, it's the value and quality of the food/service that's inexcusable.

This place never disappoints. Updated interior with same classic charm. New menu rocks. We tried pork tostada, buffalo enchiladas, short rib Birria Tacos, and they had a dry rub rib special with 'Bama sauce. Ribs and Birria tacos were spot on.

What a great bar! I love the ambiance. Very nice remodel. And the service was great. My favorite food we had (which was mostly appetizers) was the elote. It was smoked and very different than other kinds I have had before. 11/10 come visit!

Unless you have deep pockets and like really odd Mexican foody menu...AVOID! Was a favorite stop for years when in area. Hadn't been in over a year and 8 months ago a menu and interior renovation changed everything. No ribs or burgers and everything is coated in tahini. A very small cone of popcorn is $7. Very little for kids

This jawn was so busting 100% recommend. If it's flipping hamburgers at McDonald's, be the best hamburger flipper in the world. Whatever it is you do you have to master your craft. -Snoop Dawg

Had a wedding reception here. Everything was great. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. We hired a band. Brought flowers and staff set them up perfectly They supplied a mexican buffet. Plenty of good food Open bar. Fast good service I love the outside patio next to the creek We had a great time

Terrific ambiance, good service and an excellent menu. Grilled lime w chips & salsa is a very nice touch. My fish tacos were excellent & my husband loved his steak fajitas. Will be back.

This place is a normal stop for is when in Vail. Liked the atmosphere food was decent. They have updated the place and it looks very nice. Service is still pretty good. But I guess they need to pay for the updates because prices have gone up a lot for what you get. A drink even bottom shelf tequila and water is $14 bit pricy in my opinion. But the thing that bugs me is I could get fajitas for $25 with salsa and beans and rice. Now I am spending $40 for fajitas no beans or rice and the worst is a tiny container of salsa is extra $2 extra. Why do I have to pay that much extra for something that should be included with Fajitas? Probably won't be visiting again. Sad. Oh just to let you all know the menu has been cut to a quarter of what they use to serve. The fajitas were decent but could use more seasonings wasn't very flavorful.

So pleased that the Saloon reopened! I first visited 36 years ago and it has always been on my list every time I visit Vail and Beaver Creek, and with it being closed the past 2 years or so, I was thrilled it had reopened just in time for this trip. The food is very good as was the service. Highly recommend. The ambiance is not what it used to be - not as cozy and the antique feel is virtually gone, but times do change. Will definitely be back when I travel to the area.

10/10 recommend and will def be back! The ambiance of the remodel is so cozy. The new menu is out of this world. My personal faves are the Mile burger and jalapeño poppers. Everyone needs to check this place out!!

When we first arrived the bar was busy during apres ski time but the staff were super nice and friendly. Drinks were good and the fajitas were fresh and delicious. Will be back.

I've always loved the Saloon, but the new owners have really spruced it up. The new dinner menu is great! We had a wonderful dinner with friends. The staff is on point and really made us feel at home. The remodel has returned this classic mountain spot to glory. Best apres bar in Colorado!

Great service, fun atmosphere, food was great had the dry rub wings. And I would recommend.

So happy this Vail Valley institution is back open and even better than ever! The renovation looks great. The food is next level (birria tacos yum!). And of course the margs are legit. Great vibe and place to unwind after a day on the mountains. We showed up with a group of 14 and were taken care of like family by the terrific staff. Best apres in the valley! Will be back!

This is a great spot for a lively and fun reception! We've hosted many receptions here over the years, and this year was the best yet. The remodeled space is perfect; it opened up the flow for guests to enjoy mingling and kept the ski town charm of what we all love about the Minturn Saloon. The bar selection was diverse and the mexican buffet was delicious. Best of all, we loved working with Kasey and the entire staff. Can't wait to return!

Loved having the opportunity to host an event here - such a fun place to come together over a shared love for skiing. The staff went above and beyond to give our group a great experience. Food and remodel are top notch.

The ambiance is extraordinary and such a warm and inviting way to spend an evening! Great live music and food! Takes you back to the iconic days!!! The new owners killed it , I'm going to be a regular here in the heart of Minturn!

On our way back from Leadville, I heard about this place. When my fiancé and I stopped in, the bar staff were so friendly. We just stopped in for a few drinks but there were this couple who ordered some nachos and they looked amazing. Next time I stop in I will definitely try those. FYI the bar opens at 3pm.

The Saloon has been completely rebuilt and the finishes and new decor are as nice as they can possibly be. The place is immaculate. The menu is creative and everything we ate was delicious. I had the Mile burger and it was exceptional. My kids took down the quesadilla and tacos and didn't leave behind a single bite, even though I asked them to so I could sample their food, they just dusted everything. We were there on a busy pre-Halloween night and the crowd was festive and fun, great musician keeping everyone entertained, and our server did a good job of handling our large group and answering any questions we had. Very excited for the NEW Saloon, I look forward to returning several times or more this winter.

Tried to support locals. Won't be back anytime soon. Small portions, just average food. Green Chili mac n cheese - Costco's is better. There were no green chilis present. We got 1/2 our food before we received our drinks. I realize there are growing pains, but I expected more. $6 for chips/salsa. Crazy. I wouldn't waste your time. Limited menu and doesn't have a true "Mexican" feel.

Great food and a cool atmosphere. Definitely try the Mile Burger. The chips and homemade salsa are perfection!

A friend recommended this place from a previous good experience years back. We went and all got duck fajitas and the wait was forever and the food was expensive and just fine. $50 for just me after fajitas and one beer and a 20% tip. Not exactly how much you want to spend away from the ski areas, but at least it was a lot of food. The server put all four of our checks together for some reason, odd assumption that took an extra 10 min to be fixed. Kind of weird atmosphere that apparently did not match what my friend had known and loved in the past. Oh well, wouldn't go again but it was fine overall.

As a long time local I was looking forward to checking out the revamped Minturn Saloon with friends. I like the remodel and the ambiance is great. We ordered regular vegetarian nachos and a mushroom quesadilla in the bar area. The gourmet mushroom quesadilla barely had any mushrooms and was soggy. The nachos were a large plate to share however, as I bit into one I realized that underneath the cheese was meat. Our waitress was very apologetic and ordered new nachos for us. They were brought to our table by Tony, one of the owners, and he promptly dropped them off and said "here are your free nachos" I said "excuse me, these are not free nachos, they are to replace the wrong order" Instead of apologizing he stated " well enjoy your extra nachos" and walked off. We were all shocked at his attitude. No apology at all. I couldn't believe an owner would talk to his customers like that. And, they were just average nachos. The Red Lion and The George have much better nachos for the price. Unfortunately, I won't be going back to eat as the experience was disappointing. However, the bar staff were great and I would go back for drinks.

If you blink, you might miss this gem of a Saloon. The town of Minturn isn't very big, but it's an awesome town! We stopped in this past week. Sunny day but a little chill in the air. Decided to sit outside and enjoy the weather. Our server came right over with water and chips and salsa. Took our order and off we went! I can tell you the margaritas here are delicious! We also ordered guacamole for the chips. That was a little pricey at $8 for a small cup of guac, but it was very good! The atmosphere and decor is great! They have a lot of signed pictures from celebrities who have visited. Definitely make this a stop if you're ever in the area!

Few places like this still exist in ski country. Great food, great history, great margs. Step back in time to when skiing was more of a rugged, but everybody type of activity.

May 29, 2022. New Ownership is Remodeling for this Summer. They are closed for the summer season to make important improvements. We appreciate the long overdue updates for such a classic spot we've all gathered for decades. Best wishes for great success on your incredible efforts.

Haven't been here in YEARS but the aprés atmosphere is the same as I remember and the staff is some of the friendliest in ALL of Colorado. What a fun, salt-of-the-earth bunch that truly make you feel at home. Short ribs, duck and delicious drinks are - YUM - on the menu. Extra special shouts out to Sage and Mackenzie especially today for inviting us in, working hard and making the Saloon what it is in our hearts. Ps. Try the Sendy sauce!

Great staff. Yummmmm food! Very cool spot! The duck was cooked to perfection but I'm so glad I shared it with my daughter. Good margaritas. The highlight was the Flan dessert TBH - it's a family recipe and it's GOOD!!!

July 2019 Heading east through the Rockies Andra and I took an adjacent road to the freeway thru some towns in Vail Valley. Came upon the very cool town of Minturn when, lo and behold, a saloon popped up right in front of our eyes! Not just any saloon but The Minturn Saloon. Had no idea...3pm on the dial so we were thirsty. Andra said, "Let's go have a beer or 3, if we're lucky the bartender will have some good recommendations." We got lucky as Bartender Cory(?) gave us the real deal spot to stay for the evening and where to go for a good steak. Good time shootin' the shiznet with him and a couple of local gals at the bar. One of the best stops of our trek to Ohio.

I came in from New York to visit friends and they insisted Minturn Saloon was a must. Our waitress, Lisa, made our experience. She IS Minturn Saloon. She is warm, welcoming, hospitable and an absolute pleasure. The atmosphere and drinks are phenomenal but Lisa will keep us coming back for years to come!

This is one of our "go to" places when we are in Vail. The margaritas are excellent, food is good, and service is friendly. I love the apres ski crowd and energy in the winter. Summer is a bit slower, but still good. Definitely worth the drive from BC or Vail.

Horrible unfriendly servers. Bad food . Don't waste your time here. They won't let you dine at the OUTSIDE tables without a mask on . Ugly attitude.

If you're looking for a laid back dining experience complete with a great history and lots of memorabilia, this is the place. Mexican food is plentiful but Americanized to match the bar atmosphere. The ribs are outstanding and unless you're a football player order the smaller version! Pitchers of margaritas suffice to quench your thirst but they appeared to be too weak for our tastes. Don't bother with the flavored margaritas, our guests were disappointed that there was no extra kick. Many ski down the Minturn Mile to arrive at the bar so you'll see a few skis outside. This is not a place to wear your Vail furs and expensive sweaters; you will carry the smell of the fryalator with you for day

Came with friends after a ski day. New owners with a revamped menu. Mexican theme but also amazing wings, smoked. Loved the Birria and the Baja tacos. Fun atmosphere and great staff. Totally recommend!

I have been coming here for 44 years. I'm 44 years old. My parents would put me on the bar as they drank margaritas (pitchers of the Duke). When I could actually start drinking (14 years old), I began my journey to understand the perfect margarita. You will find it here. Enjoy. Oh, and the steaks are great, too!

We love this place and try to go whenever we are in town. Great Mexican food and excellent service. They are always welcoming and friendly!

What a gem! My husband and I stumbled upon the Minturn Saloon because it was the closest restaurant to our hotel. Wow! I didn't think this eating experience was possible in these times. The wait folks were SO kind and caring. Dillon (Dylan?) was attentive, efficient, and nice. He recommended the fish tacos. By far the best I've eaten. Very fresh, skillfully prepared. The salsa the guac, the chips all so good. I thought it was strange to be asked if we had a reservation, in a bar, on a Monday night? Clearly this place is cherished. Everyone was enjoying themselves. Thank You Minturn Saloon! I think my experience tonight has possibly awakened some kind of hope that things are going to be OK.

Best place we've eaten in all vacation here in the Vail area. Lots of history and old time saloon feel. The food is unmatched!! The wings,ribs,and burger were all phenomenal. And Makinzee our waitress was the best! Such a great server, and gave us a tour of the history of the place. We'll be back for sure, and highly recommend!!
