Mio Posto Merrick

We recently hosted our engagement party at Mio Posto in their private party room, and I can honestly say it exceeded all of my expectations. From start to finish, everything was seamless. The food was absolutely incredible our guests are still reaching out to us days later raving about how delicious everything was. The service was outstanding as well; the staff went above and beyond to make sure the night ran smoothly, and the bartender kept the drinks flowing with such great energy. Mio Posto created the perfect atmosphere for such a special celebration, and I couldn’t recommend it more highly for anyone looking to host their next event.

From start to finish I can’t say enough what a wonderful experience we had planning and hosting my daughter’s bridal shower. From the food to the staff it was amazing…. I messed up the table seating on 2 tables and the staff was quick to fix my error when a few guests had no seat…The set up was a breeze, they worked with all of us to get all of the decorations set exactly how we wanted it …. Kudos to Sal one of the owners who I had my initial contact with and to Mike the maître D who helped to make this event a success. Myself and the guests couldn’t say enough wonderful things! Thank you to all at Mio Posto! Hands down a phenomenal restaurant !!!!

Wonderful restaurant with fabulous dishes! Ambiance was so nice, staff welcoming, would definately go back to try more on their menu.

Had my baby shower there over the weekend. Booking the party was super straight forward and easy. They are willing to work with what you want to do in the space. I opted for the main dining room as we were inviting a lot of guest. We ended up having 65 people and I’m glad I picked the main dining room. It gave us enough room for a display table, a photo opp area, guest tables, gifts and a dessert table. When we arrived on the day of, we were greeted by our maitre d, Mike, he was beyond what you could expect as a party host. He was helpful with set up and made sure we had everything we needed. He checked in throughout the party to make sure everything was okay. The service was spectacular along with the tons of food they served! Everybody was raving about the food and how good everything was. Overall, it was a great day and I would 10/10 recommend having a party here.

We attended a Wedding Shower yesterday afternoon. There was plenty of parking, the food was excellent, and the wait staff were attentive. I thought the baked clams were especially good, the sauce was perfection.

Food and drinks were great wait staff very attentive. They are not understaffed. Great experience and they are not cheap with the liquor. Worth the money. You should try it.

My second time eating there. First time food and service were amazing. I was not happy with my entree which was Chilean sea bass. The waiter did not describe the entree the same way it was served. The fish was overcooked and didn't have any wine taste to it. I was with 3 other people and they seemed to enjoy their food. I was very disappointed in the Chilean sea bass. I wouldn't order it again. I should had the steak like I did the last time I was there. The mussels appetizer was great like last time.

We used to go to Mio Posto in Oceanside and Long Beach when they were open and always enjoyed our many dinners there - this was our first time at the Merrick location. When we entered the restaurant, we immediately noticed to the right a very long (30 feet?) granite bar and to the left is the dining room - both with a soaring ceilings making the rooms to appear very large. It is smartly appointed, warm, inviting and classy. There is also a large and bright party room to the back and on the left from where we entered. For appetizer, we had baked clams, fried zucchini and tomato mozzarella salad. All were good and tasty. Then, we shared penne alla vodka - excellent! For dinner, we had Norwegian salmon, eggplant Parmagiana, chicken Marsala, and chicken Francese - plentiful and delicious. We were so full we skipped dessert and only ordered coffee. The service was OK, not great, as the waiter was very busy and seemed confused as to who ordered which dinner, and the busboy who was moving so quickly almost hit my face when removing plates and glasses from the table. It hard to park but there's the Long Island railroad station down the block and another lot across the street behind the stores. If you to Mio Posto - enjoy - overall, it's a very good restaurant, and the food is delicious and excellent.

We had an office party for Christmas. The atmosphere was very nice but it was very low lite. I believe we had family style meal. The portion ghat was given to us was very small. I only had a 1/4 of a meatball. The steak was cut thinly and dry. It was very well done. We also had chicken Parmesan. The chicken was cut very thin. It had good flavor. But I wish I can have more food. My favorite dish was the fried calamari. It was very crispy and the marinara sauce was quite delicious. We also had penna a la voka, house salad, tomato with mozzarella and roasted green beans or asparagus with shrimp

My wife had gone here before and raved about the food and atmosphere. I joined her on a Saturday evening, and we had a great time. They had a DJ spinning some good music which wasn't overly loud. Their drink menu was decent, I had the coffee old fashion, wife had the spicy margarita. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Cooked perfectly as well. Server was attentive and informative on the specials and anything we would decide to substitute. Will def return!

Food was amazing Forgetaboutit , service was fast and very attentive to the clients that walk in. Very happy I went In to check it out. Ambiance is very friendly and definitely recommend this place.

It has been 6 months since I last been there and a lot has changed. The service, food and staff was 100% now it is 125% The food was excellent. I ordered my regular shrimp Parmesan and the shrimp was big and not over cooked. Also, We had the rice ball special in their delicious bolognese sauce and we had calamari with a Gorgonzola sauce. Calamari was tender with a cheesy tangy sauce. What a wonderful dinner.

Tried some new things when we returned, meatballs app and delicious Caesar salad. I tried the veal Francese again, ordered without the cheese and it was much better over the capellini. I think my first experience dish was a fluke. Didn't try the artichoke again, maybe soon !

Great restaurant located on Merrick Ave in Merrick NY. The Veal Cutlet Parmigiana is very tender and the pasta is made fresh. Nice ambiance and a great bar too!

I looked forward to treating my sister to a birthday lunch,the server anneliese recomended the meatball sub. She said it was her favorite . My sister loved her mushroom pizza,I however was not as lucky,the sub was not on cibatta roll or a heavy roll that could handle all the sauce,NO ! It was on a thin bread,they put so much tomato sauce on it like it was a bowl of pasta,how am I supposed to pick it up & eat it ? Immediataly I noticed the bread was completly soggy! The server brought me a new one,Again the same issue a sponge for a sandwich how appitizing ! MY sister asked annnel,is it suppoesed to be this way ? annel sais I don't know,! She was the one who said it was great,& she ate it all the time,why wouldn't she know ,lies! What a let down ,bad service incomedent chef dark lit bathroom.No communication to the chef to make it correctlty just redundant nonsence.

Mio Posto really isn't bad at all. The vibe on Thursday is fun. Family style, larger parties, beautiful restaurant inside. The food is good. You won't be disappointed. We started with a salad, moved onto a mix of apps: calamari, meatballs, then pasta, then a mix of shrimp, chicken and veal.

I was here for a party in the party room. It was my first time. Everything was great. Food is good. As I was leaving, the restaurant has a DJ and it turns into a club, if you're looking for a place to party.

The pasta was excellent as was the steak. We had a group of 13 guys last Thursday, the restaurant was busy but the service was very good in spite of our large group and a very large group of politicians taking up more than half of the restaurant.

Amazingly delicious Italian food. Baked Clams, fried calamari, eggplant parmesan all made to perfection. Big portions on the half orders which will last for two dinners. A great place for dinner!

Can't say enough amazing things about this restaurant! I have been here a few times for dinner and everything has always been delicious. However, I had my baby shower here yesterday in the private room. The service and food was beyond amazing. My mom and sister worked with Sal during the planning process and he went above and beyond to make the event perfect!!! All of the guests are still texting me today raving about the food, ambiance, and service! Thank you to Sal and the staff who went above and beyond!!

My wife and I came here for the Merrick Kiwanis meeting and it was wonderful. Besides being very easy to get to, there is plenty of parking and a very quick walk from the car. The restaurant has a certain electricity to it. Lots of people sitting, talking and enjoying themselves. We were brought to the side room. Ample seating, large area and very bright. Just perfect. The main room had a great organic-trendy vibe. After getting the meeting portion completed, we sat down to a very delicious dinner. They started us with a salad then distributed the most delicious baked clams. These were really [really] good. Our server did a really great job of keeping up with our water, bread and overall comfort. My wife had the chicken marsala while I had the chicken francaise. These were good... not just good, but really good. I am always impressed when a food establishment can hand out 30 dinners quickly, and make sure that they are still hot, incredibly tasty and fresh. We are truly looking forward to coming back with a few friends to sit in the main room and enjoy the great food and electricity in the air. KUDOs to Mio Posto.

Food outstanding. Service amazing. Came for apps with my 27 year old daughter and my sister. Well was looking forward to the music at 8. As soon as music came on the place piled in with 21 year olds. Yep my daughter was saying I don't fit in. Meanwhile I'm like what about me. Lol. I used to go to the one in Oceanside and it was my age. 40's. Not this location Come for the food and service !!!!!!!

Waited for over 2 hours for a table for 3 ladies tonight. When asked when our table was ready the guy said maybe this table or maybe that table - he still was not sure of a time after we waited for 2 hours and drank at the bar. We left without getting a table.

Amazing Food 10/10 talked to a young man named Angelo very polite and kind would come back again.

Worst place i have ever been in my life waited more than 2 hours but never got a table not sure what was worst food or drinks the so called Manager sitting in a bar chair talking women for 2 hours and not working said go try another place when we told him that we still waiting ?? This is the most racist restaurant i have been to in 19 years i have been living on island such a waste of my hard earned money We ordered espresso martinis 1 out of 10 Regular martinis were pretty goof Margarita was just tequila seltzer Mozzarella sticks were frozen not even warmed enough Bread was good Stuffed mushrooms taste disgusting

It was a delight to visit Mio Posto after the 2022 Jones Beach Air Show. We entered into, what seemed, Frank Sinatra's old stomping grounds. The restaurant is beautiful and has both old world charm and trendy vibes. We received very professional and courteous service from a hard working and attentive staff. Someone always checked up on us and immediately filled our water glasses. The food was AMAZING. The warm bread and warm peppers were complementary and they were both very good. We started with the Mio Posto salad, which I highly recommend. They serve it in a large bowl and will take two, or more, servings to finish. Highly recommended. Our meatballs were d.e.l.i.c.i.o.u.s and we took A LOT home. The sauce was exquisite and it came with parmessan and ricotta cheese, to sprinkle on top. Mio Posto is on the pricey side, but the food, portions, and the service is worth the price.

I came into this place with the intention of sitting near the bar with my friend, however, the smell of the steak was too much to handle and we had to try it. This place is GORGEOUS. It actually reminds me of a ballroom. Clean, classy, well decorated with dim lighting. We ordered the steak and demolished it, I wish I had a picture but even then, it doesn't do it justice. The taste was... out of this world and I could tell they didn't overwhelm it with spices. Instead it tasted fresh and lightly salted. If you're a steak lover THIS PLACE IS A GEM that you've been missing out on. I came all the way from Manhattan on train and it 100% beats many places in the city. The service was good. It was fast, I didn't speak to our server too much but wish I got his name because of how quick he was working. Very competent. I appreciated that they let us stay until we were finished without rushing us out because it was late. Thank you for everything. I will be back! Years later, stopping by on a whim. Big fuckin mistake. Friday night, unless you know one of the 4 bartenders, prepare to be ignored. I barely got a drink and then my second. I was never offered a menu or even asked if i was having dinner. I was about to ask for a menu when some clown threw his keys on the bar to give to the bartender and asked for a vodka cranberry, her fuckin eyes lit up when she saw this couple and i never got my chance to ask for that menu, but i certainly asked for my check. Hot tip, pay less attention to the employees, regulars and ur phones, a little more attention to the random single guy at the bar. Very disappointed. Wont be back.

Went to Mio Posto again for dinner......This place is a home run everytime I'm there.......Best Baked clams Ive ever had and the linguine white clam is amazing.......We had chicken sorrentino for the main and Ive never had better anywhere.....Service is good and the owners are most gracious.........CIAO...................

I wanted to give this place 5 stars unfortunately the pasta was the worst I had in NY. Maybe if I didn't order anything to eat I would give it another star. Foods are better after 8PM.

I've been eating for a half hour and this is what's left. It's loud so if you want quiet this isn't for you. If you want to have fun I highly recommend.

Great Italian food. The veal chop on the bone is an awesome dish and we also had the baked clams which were also fresh and tasty. During the week day it's a quiet spot but the weekends are usually jumpin!! The bar is very big and stocked

Went to a party there about 75 people so it was a great test to see how service was as well as the food. Service 5 stars for sure. We had a good cross section of appetizers meatballs, baked clams, salad, fried zucchini, pasta and great bread. I got the chicken franchese which was awesome seriously awesome. Others totally enjoyed their dishes from salmon, eggplant parm, chicken parm and many other choices. Not sure if they supplied the cake or not so that is not in my review. The owner or manager was always walking around making sure everything was going smooth which says a lot on how they respect the customer and respect the operation of the business. I can obviously recommend for parties or just to go in for dinner as the food is excellent. 5 stars food and service.

Came here for the first time for a family member's birthday dinner. Our server's name is Joseph. He was attentive, we let him know we had a pre-fixed menu. He let us know there was a little miscommunication about our dinner party prix fixe menu and he took care of it. The salad was delicious, and I asked for a second one. The crab cakes were also delicious, and according to the rest of the party, the meatballs were good too. I didn't like the calamari, they were too thick. The ambiance was good, with a live music singer. He sang great at one point I forgot it was live. I recommend this restaurant and I will return. I had more pictures somehow it was deleted. .

Classy place with an old school vibe. Great food and an attentive staff. Definitely a place you'd want to try if you haven't already.

I visited with friends. The waiter unfortunately poured hot oil down my shoulder. (Silk blouse mix) I screamed, and they gave me ice. I got no blister, but it was tender and hurt. NO COMP MEAL OR DRINKS, NO REPLACING MY TOP WHEN I ASKED THE NEXT DAY. ($112) I couldn't even stay for the main course because I was hurting. I'm disguted.

Saturday night 5:15 place just opened and filling up quickly. Sal accommodated us for 8 and made us feel very welcomed like old friends. Drinks, food , desserts, portions are plentiful fresh and delicious. Service was on point. Love going to a place that is consistently good. My favorite place to eat Italian food with friends. Ambiance is perfect. Highly recommended a visit if you've never been there before!!!

Great for family style dinner. We went for a birthday with a large group the waiter was patient and attentive to all our needs. He was able to give great recommendations and provide great service. Food was amazing!

Me and my wife had our son's christening in the party room they have. My guests and I are still talking about how amazing the food, staff and ambience was. Food quality was top notch and plenty of it was served to us. Nobody from my party left hungry at all. Sal, Mike and his staff members were very attentive to every one of our guests that were in the room. We had 40 people and everyone was very comfortable in the room. The Room could have even held more very comfortably. I would HIGHLY recommend mio posto for a party and dinner any day. We and my wife can't wait to go back for date night soon.

I attended a baby shower at Mio Posto and the event was just perfect! The food was delicious, the staff was very attentive and the room was just lovely! I can wait to return with my husband and friends for dinner.

So , As good is start that's how bad ended lol. I came to eat dinner with friends of mine Wednesday evening. We were seating fast. All good. The service nightmare began after 15' waiting just to order a drinks. I and my gf had mio mule and which we switched afor another one, as I thought it will be like Moscow mule but ... it wasn't! We got menus and had to wait 45min for our server to come and take our orders! Yeah 45min.(we said 5min more and we leave). Luckily ...he show up! The restaurant wasn't so full otherwise I would understand the time for waiting. He wasn't just organized in my opinion. We got the dishes, which they were pretty big. We ordered linguine with clam sauce which was good but for me too salty. Then I had sea bass and green beans which again portion was for two, but wasn't spectacular but good enough. My friends got some other dish with chicken rolls with very tasty sauce. It was good and definitely two people will be fine with it. Music was live and the singer pretty good. If the service wasn't so bad I would give a 4*! Unfortunately my/ our first time experiences in this place wasn't as we expected. I would give a try one more time and see. And the reason I'm coming back is the music and generally atmosphere wasn't bad with the company I had!

Great service - very attentive, very large portions. we had the stuffed fish (came w 2 large pieces) and the pork chops (2 large double cut chops). Burrata starter was delicious as well as tiramisu dessert.

Probably the best Italian food on Long Island and always consistent. The pasta is cooked perfectly Al dente every time and you can't go wrong with any of the main dishes either. I highly recommend ordering the full sized portions instead of getting individual meals because that way you create your own family style menu where everyone can taste everything they have to offer. I usually order a few apps, 2 different pasta dishes and then a few meat dishes for the table and everyone loves it because you don't have to settle for just 1 dish.

Food was very tasty. Great ambiance, just wish the music was a bit lower as it was hard to gear friends on the other side of the table. I will definitely be back 4 sure. Great time overall.

Made a reservation the day of and they were able to accommodate! We were seated right away when we arrived too. Appetizers we did 6 baked clams (delish and not fishy, little necks) and the spicy fried calamari. Entrees we did half order of linguine garlic and oil, half shrimp oreganata, and the steak with Gorgonzola cream sauce. All dishes were delicious and flavorful. We wrapped up most of these! Definitely will be back and strongly suggest to check out.

Good food surrounded by good vibes. Went for Easter but the Holidays are a terrible barometer for the true feel of this place. Crazy Easter Sunday but a good meal none the less !

family style. we had great seating at the top. " best seat in the house ". The food is good. the drinks are good. I went on a Friday so it was kind of crowded but they didn't interfere with service. The music is up to beat. You just have to know what type of vibe you are looking for. if you like upbeat house like music this is for you. if not, don't go lol. you won't enjoy yourself trust me.

Went here with a group of girlfriends for a birthday dinner. Fun place for a Friday night but tough to have a conversation since we were right next to the DJ. Food was fine but nothing special considering the price. I wouldn't go back. Place was packed to the gills, sweaty and hot. Seems like a place for picking up dates, grabbing drinks before the city but not a place I'd want to go back to for a dinner with friends.

I was there last night and ate the most delicious dinner and dessert. Always loved this place . The owners are really the best at what they do.

Came here for a Birthday and the Live Music & Food did not disappoint. It was an absolute gem of a family restaurant run by passionate and friendly service staff. If you don't walk out of an Italian restaurant full, your in the wrong place. Definitely ate too much and drank too much. They make the classics to perfection. Must try the Baked Clams - it was cooked to perfection and grabbing all that great sauce leftover sauce with the fresh bread was a perfect bite. Definitely don't miss out when passing by...

Not for date night . Not for dinner with grandma . Def for good food . Loud awesome music and good vibes with a 30 plus crowd . When I want to escape my adulting life and reminisce on my youth ... this is where I'd go . Honestly will not be going back here after being here before. Took someone here for a celebration and asked how long the wait would be since they do not take reservations. Was told about 45 mins by an arrogant short stocky guy with dark hair and tattoos who by the way did not take a name or phone number for us, we agreed to wait but because there was no room for us at the bar and clearly they do not care to put any chairs or seating near the entrance for people who may be waiting for a table we stood outside. I checked back in twice to see if the table was ready. The same guy we spoke to repeatedly told us 45 mins even after we waited thirty more mins to ask, then told us he had no idea we were waiting for a table. What did you think we were doing here all this time waiting for you??? Especially after not even taking a name down or phone number?? He was very rude and honestly after going to this place with large groups in the past on Friday nights and thinking it would be a good idea to bring someone here as a repeat customer it clearly was not. These people act like they are doing you a favor with their mediocre food and and aloof arrogant attitude. It's clear this place was just created as a hang out spot for the wise guy owners and friends of theirs to occupy. Any one else is treated like trash. Go take your money elsewhere, there are so many good authentic Italian places where the food is 10 times better as well as the service and they would be happy to have you rather then treat you like your some nobody that they are doing a favor for by letting you in.

Went with a friend for girls night on a Friday, thought the food was ok but the bar scene was a lot of fun. Our table was in the bar area which was packed shoulder to shoulder, so service was a bit slow but have to take into consideration the poor server had to fight his way through the crowd. Think I'd come back for drinks

My boyfriend and I went here for date night since we were catching a movie across the street at Merrick Cinemas. The interior is really beautiful and I enjoyed the Caesar salad and the clams and my boyfriend liked the veal and thought the tiramisu was okay. I don't think I would order from here just for the food for take out because it's good but I think there are better Italian places for comparable prices nearby. Despite the food being acceptable to pretty good, I would not recommend this for date night if you actually want to talk to the person you're with, unless you can sign or lip read. After a few failed attempts between my boyfriend and I to talk in-between the music, we ended up just laughing and figuring we'll talk after the movie or during previews. They were so busy that it took a while for us to get our drinks. When I saw the mention of live music I was thinking it was something low-key like a jazz trio or an acoustic guitar like some of the places nearby. I guess I should've read the other reviews better, but their Instagram doesn't really promote itself as nightclub-esque atmosphere so I kind of felt misled by it. I guess they have the DJ on weekends but I'm not sure if there's one on other nights too. It's basically like a night club music in a restaurant atmosphere - kind of odd IMO. Even the restaurants I go to in the city aren't blasting Bruno Mars or Zedd or whoever for the drinks-only crowd that are there while there are seated patrons. I was not expecting to have a DJ blasting a mix of hits in my ear - we had gone to this location in its previous forms and you didn't have to push your way into the restaurant with a bunch of smokers blocking the entrance and a crowd inside. It was just a normal Italian restaurant before. To their credit, we were seated right away once we actually did make our way to the host stand. It just felt awkward because the place was so crowded and noisy that it wasn't this chill romantic night out that we were finally hoping for. They do not have a parking lot and there's no valet parking. Parking is free across the street at the train lot.
