The built in sandbox area is cool and there is nice equipment and good slides that are actually slippery, but it's a little disappointing that there are no swings.

This park is getting completely remodeled with a new community pool. The park itself straddles New Salem Street and across the street from the rec room is supposed to be done within this month (Dec 2017) and it looks like they make the deadline. Directly after the east side is done, they should be starting the pool side (where the rec room currently stands). This is our tax money at work and it looks awesome so far!

Beautiful new playground and fields open. It looks like they did a really good job. Going to enjoy taking my son there to play.

I really liked this park, I appreciate the cleanliness, quality of games and quantity, this park was very good in all these areas.

Google
Awesome shaded park with a great community of local families who visit regularly. I love that the big and little playgrounds are so close together and there's plenty of seating. The baseball fields serve as a good fenced in free play area when not in use for sports.

Google
Nice play structures under shade. 2 water fountains nearby. There is a covered cement area with 3 cement tables but that may be reserved for an event and can not be sued by public at that time. Overall nice respectful kids with attentive caring parents is a plus always.

Newly remodeled north side of park offers 2 little league baseball fields and toddler playground

Yelp
The rec center portion is under construction but the park area with the playground is still open. However, it's pretty hot. There are trees but no breeze really so I suggest carrying a fan or even better a spray fan!

Yelp
06-17-23 San Diego Lao Festival 2023 Attended the event. Admission fee was $9 at the door, cheaper to purchase online. Note: -Come at the start of the event, 11am -Food lines were extreme long -$10 parking at Mira Mesa High or street parking Enjoyed the entertainments and Papaya demo. Thank you to those who've made this event possible!

Yelp
Great community park! They have lots of different options on the playground for different age groups. There is a 2 to 5 year old structure and a 5 to 12 year old structure and additions to multi age equipment for everyone to play on. There's a fun Merry-go-round which is safe even for small children with high backseats. Across the street is a large swingset and a community center where you can play basketball and get a snack or read a book. Fun for everyone! There is an ample sized parking lot in between the rec center and the playground. You can also ride a bike or skateboard on a path that goes around the baseball diamonds. We love coming here!

Yelp
Nice and shady in the mornings. Two main play areas with new equipments. Wood chip under the big and sand under the little. Doesn't have enough variety to keep bigger kids entertained. Lots of fields for baseball practice. Parking lots on New Salem and also on Westmore.

Yelp
Living in 4S Ranch, I've come to appreciate all the parks within walking distance from my home. That being said, I recently visited the Mira Mesa Community Park for the SDTET Festival. I was amazed at how organized it was. There was a mix of food vendors and carnival style rides. There is ample parking and the area is well maintained. I would not hesitate to have a family gathering here. What's great about this park is that there are eateries withing walking distance, so if you forgot a bag of ice or chips, you can quickly grab it and be back to having fun. I'm sure I'll be back again.

Yelp
Disgusting and disheartening that they can't clean up this park. The AYSO should locate a park that cares for its community. The bathrooms were horrendous. Do better. No stars needed

Yelp
PARK REVIEW TIMMEEE Sup this park kinda new and kewl now lotsa events take place at this park for a reason. It's just a spacious clean green space at which you can do anything. They recently expanded it so it's like triple the size and all and the playgrounds are kinda INSANE there's a orange wheel that spins and you can get in. With some friends you can make them sick and maybe get them to throw up or sumthin. Def a park to hang out with highly recommend. Be careful at night tho!!!?! This is a public open park so bewario I've had my strange encounters at night and the bathrooms are 24/7 stay safe :)

Yelp
Came here to enjoy our take out picnic lunch-actually at the rec center and surprised to see the new playground across the way. There's enough picnic tables that are spread throughout the park. There is also an open shaded place in the center that could accommodate a small venue- its in between the playground and the 4 new little league baseball fields. I remember not that long ago that this was a vast open dirt field. Really happy to know that the space was utilized wisely and it was a priority to be family friendly and for the community. I love that they constructed shade covering to accommodate everyone who comes to play or hang out. You could definitely feel like a kid again or be tempted to play in the new modern jungle gym. :) I can't wait to bring my nieces and nephews here to play! Great for joggers, dogs or maybe even your next meeting with your personal trainer!

Yelp
Love the new park area, which is beautiful. They have plenty of baseball fields, a running path and kids playground. The parking lot is small, but there's also street parking.

Yelp
What a nice place for Mira Mesa to have community events. There is an onsite recreation center that you can have events at and lots of green space to have picnics, walk your dogs, play in the park, or have cultural activities. I have attending several events at the park and the park serves as a nice space. The only drawback is that if there is a huge event, parking can be limited in the lots closest to the park. Otherwise, Mira Mesa High is across the street and typically is available when there are no spaces in the neighboring lots. Actually, it's better to park at MMHS due to the traffic. The intersection is safe to cross with the stop light. There is also limited shade, so if you're there for a while for events, etc, it's best to bring your own canopy or big umbrella.

Yelp
Nice new park... they completely upgraded it. It took them nearly 2 years to finish. Project was over 12 million $..! Everything is brand new.

Yelp
This place would be 5 Stars if it wasn't for the inconsiderate morons running around here. It's been beautifully redone - land that was previously Little League property that the city rebuilt putting a park with the four baseball fields. Little League use to have 5 ball fields before the revamp - but now have 4 and a kids playground. Yet the playground people walk around like the baseball fields are such an inconvenience for them. If you play baseball, is normal for these people to decide to play soccer or football on your roped off field while you're in the middle of practice or a game. They let their kids wander into a live playing field - then drag their sweet butts over to collect their kids.. stopping the games (for safety issues). I've been glared at by a few parents for asking them to get the kid off the field during a game. Beautiful park just wish the people were a bit more considerate.

Yelp
Beautiful new playground. -Easy parking -Shaded -Section sized for toddlers -Modern Merry-go-round -Musical installations for kiddos to play with My 2.5 year old had a great time!

Yelp
It's a simple little park. Lots of parking in the lot, streets, and nearby. They always host events here such as: Vietnamese New Year Festival 4th of July Festival and fireworks Music events for dancers and artists Night markets Cant forget that its a hot spot to go pokemon hunting. They also have a recreation center and playground and is dog friendly Not to mention that they do a good job of keeping it clean!

Yelp
Every once in a while I will come here with my friends and play some tackle or 2 hound touch football. Sometimes flag. Many fields for baseball and just enough space to play football or soccer on an unoccupied field. The park is always filled with kids and me and my friends love climbing on top of the play set and just sitting there looking down. Always a fun spot to hangout at after a hard grind of basketball. Only reason I have this a 3 star is because on a hot day the water fountains don't always work and there is barely anywhere to find shade unless you have like a sun umbrella or the sun hits a tree in the perfect position but any other situation. NO SHADE WHAT SO EVER

Yelp
Here is a Park next to The Rec Center pretty good and good place for a walk and stroll or just to play basketball .

Yelp
Very nice place. Great spot for parking and hanging out with the family for 30-40 min before dinner

Yelp
This park provides SO much shade for the kids while they play! BRAVO!!! Other parks could learn from this design!!! The only feedback I have is more tables (why is there only 2 under the covered area when 4-5 tables would fit). Also there's wood chips in the sand which is a mess. I appreciate that they wanted to give both wood & sand options. Great idea in theory but the kids can't keep them separate.

Yelp
Great neighborhood park. I walk my dog their daily. He loves it. Many children having fun. Big improvement from the old park. They are working on that too.

Yelp
Fist time to the Asian Festival. Good food and entertainment. Will definitely be back next year! I had okonomiyaki Japanese pancake delish with a side of squid on a stick. Was not expensive for a family. I bought the theme T-shirt Mochi for $5 great price for a souvenir.

Yelp
Various events are held at this park.. So it's always crackin! But I wish they would do some remodeling. The playground is really old!! It needs to be renovated with shade above it to protect our children. Thennnnn it would be perfect! Ha!

Yelp
Cool events and programs for kids. Their programs are inexpensive and enough variety for any family. There are programs for kids and adults. Clean park and friendly staff.

Yelp
This park is okay. I live by it so I walk my dog through it all the time. Beware of the grass though...it's a dog poop minefield. I always walk on the sidewalk because people in Mira Mesa don't know how to pick up dog poop. They do have less bag stations than other parks in San Diego though, but most dog owners have a little disposable income so it's not that hard to buy a darn dog bag dispenser or bring an old grocery bag...c'mon now we're Californians...recycle and reuse so I don't have to stomp in dog poop -___-

Yelp
More and more events are being held at the Mira Mesa Rec center. Though parking is limited, Mira Mesa High School is always an option right across the street. Most recently they held the 1st annual Night Market and the location was perfect for its size. This is also a good place to see 4th of July fireworks.

Yelp
Had a lot of fun here last weekend at the Filipino festival! Very spacious area and good for kickball, softball, or baseball games. I like that there is also a Recreation center around if you would like to go inside and play basketball or ping pong...or use the bathroom lol =)

Yelp
This is a nice park we go to very often. It's not the most beautiful park in San Diego but there is a nice grassy area to run around on, people are often playing soccer or Frisbee there, there are two baseball fields, a basketball court, and a nice Rec center. The playground is decent, all in sand. All the neighborhood kids come to hang out, particularly there are tons of South Asian families with their kids, and lots of elderly people as well hanging out or taking walks. There are many picnic tables, though not many in the shade. There is a pavilion which it looks like you can rent but the pavilion has no tables just FYI . it's a safe park though not well lit at night. Parking is street parking .
