What a delight Burlington is and Mirabelles was a lovely sweet spot for our day trip. it was very busy, but it is President's Day. We were promptly seated after a table opened up. Service is relaxed, but good. We sampled the Moroccan chicken soup with couscous and the tarragon chicken salad sandwich splitting the dishes to make sure we left room to sample something from the bakery.
The soup was flavorful, well seasoned and overall very very good. There were an abundance of carrots and smaller amounts of other vegetables. I would 100% get it again, it was great. The chicken salad is served on brioche which, although it doesn't say so, is not a roll it's bread and it is toasted which does not stand up to the filling. It makes it difficult to eat, eventually we just gave up and used a fork. When eaten in one bite, the avocado pairs well with the picked red onion and the tarragon, but that's hard to accomplish with the bread. It just fell apart and disintegrated into bits the size of a crouton & dust.
There is a nice assortment of teas, coffee and bottled natural sodas, but no coke, pepsi. The cola was just meh.
We opted for a meringue-cookie a few french macarons which were so good we bought two boxes to give as gifts for friends we'd planned to visit later in the day. There were small cakes & tarts all looked beautiful and delicious.
Overall, we very much enjoyed Mirabelles.
