"Since 1990, Mirabelle’s has provided downtown Burlington with elegant pastries and desserts. Dine in their café for an equally sophisticated (albeit alcohol-free) breakfast. Popovers with scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, crème fraîche and hash browns are the stand-out." - Heather Platt

Pastries are top notch and so beautiful. Only drawback was the flavored filled pastries has very little flavor that it was named after; raspberry bow pastry- tasted raspberry in only a couple bites, pistachio cream filled croissant had no pistachio flavor in the filling. The pastry cream filling is super delicious so no complaints still enjoying the filling, just that, l wish they labeled them appropriate to flavor or add more of that flavor. Still one of my top 3 favorite bakeries.

Really awesome bakery. The staff, at least the individual that helped us, was amazing. The highlight of everything we got was the perfect Jamaican hand pie with it's beautiful flaky buttery crust and perfectly seasoned fillings. My wife wasn't a huge fan of everything we got but I really enjoyed our walnut brownie, passion fruit cheesecake, and the pumpkin whoopie pie which was definitely my favorite sweet item we picked. We'll be back for sure if we are ever nearby again.

Do not miss Mirabelles Bakery if you are anywhere near South Burlington! First time visit. Brought my father in for a quick pastry and americano before my flight. I love the warehouse location with a couple tables outside. My first sight was a man walking out the door with a white pastry box. I knew this experience was going to be something special! Inside is clean with a great display of pastries, a Grab and Go with uncooked pies/pastries and packaged house made soups and potato and egg salad. I sat at the indoor high top bar. Friendliest and engaging service. The quiche was hands down the best I’ve ever had. I will never forget it (and as a retired chef I know food!) it was so creamy and the veggies were cooked perfectly and the crust was perfectly flaky with all the gold and butter! The pastries were gorgeous to the eye. All the textures of the crusts, custard, cakes were top notch. This chef and crew is talented and passionate, no doubt. I tried a lot of food this visit!

Google
I go to Mirabelles since early 90's and still has one of the best croissants in the country!! They used to be downtown Burlington, and the new location is not as compelling to have a breakfast in location. But still great food!

Google
The BEST delicious treats in Chittenden County! Everything is outstanding. Why bake again?!? The staff are polite, friendly and helpful (patient, too, when I can’t choose!). I am confident the new owners will maintain the excellent reputation.

This bakery is simply A M A Z I N G 🥰👑☕️🥐🥯🍰🧁🥧🍪🍩🍮 No one who enters in this bakery has to be on diet! And please go there hungry and, more over, please eat whatever you desire without any kind of regrets: we live once😊😉 and the pasties are super delicious!!!! People inside are super welcoming (🤭😬they suddenly understood that I'M DEFINITELY NOT FROM VERMONT so they had a lot of "holy" patience with my humble English😉😊) They serve coffee and pastries with pure dedication.☕️🍰💖 The owner Baker has been so kind and patient that even suggest us precious indications for visiting the best Vermont! 😍🇺🇸💚 The bakery is also located aside the navy airport , so in the morning you can also see navy aircrafts taking off, as F-35, F-16 and Black Hawk ✈️🚁🇺🇸 starting around 9 a.m. If you have any chance to go here, please do it 😊 They have both dine in and take away. Restrooms as well. 5 stars forever to this bakery 😊🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Google
Ordered a cake here for a party, turned out incredible and the whole thing was gone within the first 10 minutes of being out. The staff was amazing and willing to help and give any information I needed. Will 100% be returning here.

Yelp
Beautiful and delicious pastries and cookies! I go out of my way to stop in there whenever I'm in town!

Saira K.

Yelp
This is a wonderful bakery! Frankly, I liked their tart more than some of the places I went to in Paris. The pears and cranberries in a tart were delicious. Highly recommend

Karlee B.

Yelp
So many good looking options how do you choose one? Ended up with the blueberry brioche which is on rotation and it was amazing. Not overly sweet and the flavors were great. Vanilla latte was also good. Quick, personable service and the location was very clean!

Alice T.

Yelp
Phenomenal pastries, I cannot recommend this place enough. It's a bit hidden but worth the visit!

Kate H.

Yelp
I had a half hour to kill before picking up my granddaughter from school and wanted something sweet. Mirabelles' macarons blew me away. I don't even remember which was I got but they were outstanding. We also tried an almond horn and a chocolate mouse. They were both delicious and the prices were a bargain for what you got.

Yelp
Newly renovated and beautiful in all its glory , desserts and pastries ready for you to consume! My local coffee shop has a small stash of pastries that always run out when I get there on the weekdays but Mirabelles bakery is always fully LOADED - now I know where to go! You can see the pictures I took that they have so many choices, I came on a weekday morning. The last chocolate croissant I had was in Quebec and they have met their match with these bad boys. You don't have to go to Canada to get the best fresh melt in your mouth croissants because Mirabelles has them! I also got the tourtiere meat pie - French Canadian meat pie made with Vermont pork, the flakiness of the pastry makes it SO good. They will heat it up for you so they come out piping hot and fresh like mines were! You can order online on their website or call ahead if you want to place a bigger order. They don't do catering but you can order assortments. Their operating hours on Yelp are correct. They do NOT have their restaurant open anymore, just their bakery so no food entrees but they still have a cafe with coffee options. It's going to be a treat coming in here more often trying new different pastries and desserts. Looking forward to coming back!

George M.

Yelp
The breakfast sandwiches are so good that 70% of the time I drive over there they're all out but I'll keep making that drive knowing there's only a small chance. To be fair I'm unable to get out there until late morning.

Bill O.

Yelp
Delicious pastries and friendly service. I had a cinnamon roll and creme brulee biguet.

Guy H.

Yelp
Amazing bakery. Just like a piece of Paris in Burlington Vermont. Cakes, pastries, coffees and pre-cooked meals are incredible. Can't say enough about this place!

S P.

Yelp
We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of delicious items here. Service was quick and kind, and we thoroughly enjoyed the creme brulee cake, sonic cake (maybe the best item), vanilla filled croissant (haven't seen this item elsewhere, and I am a croissant fanatic), sandwich cookies, and macarons we bought. We will definitely be back the next time we visit VT!

Lane S.

Yelp
Exceptional pastries. I bought a variety of them and also a few packages of their frozen croissants and pain au chocolates. I can't wait to go back!

krissy f.

Yelp
Couldn't believe there was such a thing as a creme brûlée cake. I wanted something sweet during our Burlington trip and stumbled upon the numerous yummy reviews for Mirabelles! Asked my fiancé to get me a whole cake, but when he got there, only a slice was left! Just..... get the damn creme brûlée cake. JUST DO IT!!

Kelley B.

Yelp
All I can say is wow! What an amazing find while on vacation. They have a great variety of desserts and pastries (including breakfast sandwiches with protein). I tried several things and loved them all including the egg and cheese biscuit, macaroons, chocolate chip cookie, cheese danish, and raspberry sponge cake. I came back a second time it was so good. I was disappointed because I wasn't able to try the wonderful-looking crescents because they were sold out when I got there the second time (went when they opened the first time and around noon the second...but it was also NYE). We rang in the new year with champagne and desserts we purchased from here and it was just right. They are limiting their store to 6 customers at a time and providing sanitizer for Covid measures (masks required too). 10/10 would recommend.

Deb S.

Yelp
Words don't adequately describe ho Mirabelles has now become the pasty shop to which we compare all future pastry shops. What did we have? We shared the Mexican Cinnamon Pull-Apart and the Cinnamon Roll. Just your basic yummy pastry items - NOT even close! These are not your average pastry confections - they are delectable, soft, buttery, tender, warm, flaky, delicious breakfast goodies. If you live nearby, or if you are driving thru (as we were) you would be wise to stop in and grab a little something. You won't regret it.

Kushal S.

Yelp
Stopped by to pick up a birthday cake and discovered this gem. Got a crème brûlée cake (instant hit with birthday girl and rest later) and couple of hand pies which were promptly heated up by our cashier and finished equally fast. Place can be hard to find given it looks like it's at the end of a warehouse but wonderful treats await inside. Try or lose!

Bill D.

Yelp
I was in Burlington for work and scouted on yelp for a good recommendation for a Bakery. Man, am I glad I did! I was in town for four days and went to Mirabelle three days for breakfast stuff, including a trip to get stuff to bring home. The croissants are wonderfully flaky. The cookies are exactly what you'd hope a cookie would be. The breakfast pull-apart was tender and sweet. Unfortunately, I didn't need anything from.the dessert case, but it looked heavenly. If you're in Burlington, do yourself a favor and make a stop!

Barry P.

Yelp
One of the best French bakeries in New England. Left downtown to concentrate on take out, catering, and mail order! Croissants, Pastries, Cakes and now great take out meals from Baked Lasagna to Curries to High End Mac & Cheese!. Always have some in our freezer for quick gourmet meal at home! Known one of the owners for years. Great people!

Cathy K.

Yelp
Creme brûlée cake was fantastic, moist and rich yet not heavy at all. One of my favorite birthday cakes to date. Held up even days later after initial cutting.

Yelp
I ordered a Black Forest cake for my mother's 80th birthday and couldn't have been more pleased. Her father (my grandfather) was a German baker, so we know what authentic Black Forest (Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte) should taste like. My mom was extremely pleased. It lacked 2 tbsp Kirsch Schnaps (brandy), which is why I'm giving Mirabelle's a 4.5 star review. Great job!!!

Ryna D.

Yelp
Fantastic local bakery! I saw their page on Yelp as I was looking for breakfast options on our way from the hotel to the ski resorts and I'm glad I came across Mirabelles. We got some savory hand pies and some sweet treats in addition to coffee. All in all, an excellent bakery!

Dhruv M.

Yelp
We stopped by the bakery around 10.30am and there were people constantly coming in and leaving. We were overwhelmed by the amount of options and it took us a while to decide what we wanted to get. We finally decided to get the cheddar egg biscuit, plain croissant, macrons and macaroons. All were top notch. Someone had mentioned a crime brûlée cake and that was such a good recommendation. Loved it

Jonathan P.

Yelp
Superb offerings! Best dark chocolate pie/cake , blueberry peach brown butter crust tart; key lime pie and assorted other smaller items. All excellent!

Aej D.

Yelp
A true institution in the area--now in a new location-but people are finding their way there...Incredible baked goods and knosh for a quick lunch bite. Go there! Simply amazing. Get take home cinnamon rolls!

Love M.

Yelp
Such a cute spot! Friendly and accommodating staff. I had the breakfast tostada twice in a week (no meat, no eggs, no cheese). They were generous with the other ingredients since I asked them to remove half of them lol. Will visit again!

Kristen B.

Yelp
My birthday cake came from Mirabelles and it was DELICIOUS!!!! Creme brûlée cake was AMAZING! I had never been to Mirabelles, but now it will be my go to bakery!!

Alessandra O.

Yelp
Tasty breakfast this morning on Main Street near Church street with my eyes set on dessert !! They had a chocolate layer Pyramid cake that has my name on it. We ordered the blueberry peach French toast with caramelized almond butter- awesome ! Then I ordered an omelette with spinach and mushrooms , that came with a watermelon slice and hash browns - so fresh. We also recommend the fresh squeezed orange juice and latte drinks. Our service was courteous and fast. The place is quaint and their desserts and cookies/macaroons are nicely displayed. The chocolate eclair was fresh and delicious with a perfect filling . Definitely a stop for you if you're in Burlington - you won't be disappointed !

Therese T.

Yelp
One of the BEST bakeries I have ever been to! It's my regular stop every time I'm in Burlington! Try everything!!!

Esther K.

Yelp
Delicious baked goods. My favorite dessert is their creme brulee cake. I had this cake for my last two birthdays while I lived in Burlington and then got it again for a birthday trip in 2021. Outstanding! I used to go to the restaurant for breakfast and I wish it was still located downtown. It is still a place I make sure to visit when I'm back to visit. Highly recommend!!

Leo M.

Yelp
Mirabelle's is very quaint, Their food is so delicious that it makes me want to faint, Their homemade French hot chocolate is so decadent, I wouldn't stop sipping it for a second, Chocolate chip pancakes, french toast, popovers, eggs over medium, gave me great fortune, Their service staff will make you smile, That people will go for over a mile, Mirabelle's, do you realize you're this good? You might just be my favorite place in this neighborhood!

Pm T.

Yelp
We have been sadly disappointed with Mirabelles in our last several trips. Either the counter staff ignore customers or no one comes out from the kitchen area to wait on people.. We have asked about their popovers, which we love, but the last time we asked they told us when someone feels like making them they get made. Since they've moved to their So Burlington location they have gotten lackadaisical in production and customer service.

D J.

Yelp
A little bit out of the way and tucked in, but worth the visit. Decent selection of baked goods that were all good, decent coffee and friendly staff

C Y.

Yelp
Lucked out on a blustery April morning - no wait at Mirabelle's! Enjoyed a scrumptious omelette , real hash browns. Trying to kinda behave, so no delicious pastry for me

Sara S.

Yelp
The desserts! Just walk in and the case is calling you over. I have to force myself back to the host stand, but having made eye contact with the dessert case allows me to order responsibly to leave room for dessert. They do a great job at breakfast and lunch. I've enjoyed their sandwiches and their popovers stuffed with eggs or smoked salmon. Biscuit was a tad dry. I have to admit most of it has been overshadowed by their desserts. I can most clearly recall the excellent eclairs with a delectable dark chocolate shell and perfect consistency of the custard inside. Their black and white chocolate espresso cake is moist, rich, and just the right balance of each flavor. The chocolate salted caramel macaron has a gooey dark caramel center. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Burlington for lunch and my favorite dessert shop.

J D.

Yelp
Wow. I've been fortunate to travel to bakeries from New York to Paris to Vienna to Tokyo and I can't think of many as good as Mirabelles. I ordered an egg and cheese on a croissant and the quality of the sandwich itself was about as close to "perfect" as you can get. Super flaky croissant, just enough cheese for texture and a very gentle bitterness, and eggs not just scrambled and plopped on, or fried and plopped on, but perfectly sort of poached so they're not too crispy nor too runny. Then I had to try the cinnamon roll and I genuinely cannot think of a better one I've had in my life. Once again, perfectly flaky, lightly rolled (so it cooks evenly throughout each layer), light, sweet but not overwhelmingly-sweet frosting, perfect amount of cinnamon and butter. One is just enough for one person without feeling like you ate a 1,500 calorie bomb while still satisfying a sweet tooth. Service was prompt and attentive. What a treat to have a place this high-quality tucked away in northern Vermont. Its 4/5 stars on Yelp is grossly misleading, this is a 5/5 bakery.

Can I.

Yelp
Fantastic bakery in Burlington. I had the egg biscuit, Jamaican hand pie, and little cinnamon twirls and everything was delicious. They naturally run out of items because of the high demand so you should be there early to get exactly what you want. At the end, it won't matter because you will love anything you buy here. Highly recommended!

Rachel K.

Yelp
An absolutely beautiful bakery. They have incredible cakes, pastries, pies, and essentially any kind of dessert you can imagine. I've ordered several cakes for my parents birthday's from here, and have also received cakes for my own birthdays, and I'm always blown away with how incredibly beautiful and delicious they are. Anything from here is a treat. Highly, highly recommend. You will not be disappointed. It's a true Vermont gem. I wish I could eat at Mirabelles everyday.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Lots of bakery items to choose from. Would recommend the hand pies! The staff were terse.

Kenneth T.

Yelp
I found the Popover Breakfast to be truly ingenious like nothing I've had before. It's a large homemade Popover, with Eggs and Salmon. It also includes a large triangle homefrie which was out of this world. It's $12 but it has 3-4 eggs in it and a fair amount of salmon (Locks). It's tasty. The Tostados was good too (I tried my daughters). My wife had the French toast with a side of sausage. My other daughter is a vegetarian and had poached eggs, toast and a side of fruit. Total bill was $50 for 4 including tea and coffee. We should have gotten pastries for the road but we were full.

Hannah M.

Yelp
I order from this place every year for My best friend's birthday. Normally, I have all My ducks in a row and know what I'm talking about when I call. This year...not so much. However, Sarah just laughed along with me being a hot mess and kindly took all of my 15,000 calls with a smile through the phone!!! (Yes, you can tell) While I never get to eat any of the birthday order, I can tell you the pictures are beautiful and reviews are raving. I love this place and will continue to order from here. P.s. A Big Thanks to Sarah for all her help and hard work with my continuous calls!!!!

Daryl S.

Yelp
I got a cake for my mom's 90th bday. It didn't disappoint! It was amazing. Thanks Mirabelles!

Allison P.

Yelp
Key lime pie has been my 'Birthday cake' for the past two years!!!! Definitely recommend

Sherry T.

Yelp
Paul and I stopped at Mirabelles on a post lunch search for sweets. We arrived around Noon on Sunday and the place was packed. Thankfully we were not looking for a seat. Paul and I both got cookies (chocolate chip, peanut butter, and oatmeal raisin) and hot drinks. I can only comment on the chocolate chip cookie, which was good, but overpriced (2 bucks for a cookie). My Chai latte was very good and Paul's macchiato was good. The macchiato was not on the menu, but the nice woman who served us was happy to make it anyway. As you can probably tell by my last statement, service was good.

Hibeh D.

Yelp
Tried Mirabelles for breakfast and we were not disappointed. There's a beautiful bakery section but we were too full after breakfast to sample anything-will definitely try on my next visit to the area. In exchange for immediate seating, the five of us agreed to sit at a table for four. But it was fine. Good selection of the usual breakfast dishes-they had run out of the oatmeal so I built my own omelette. Chai tea was good too! Service was good and prices were fair. Nice, solid restaurant!

Terry E.

Yelp
I'm obsessed with the french toast here! It's amazing! They have really great, friendly service. There is also a counter, aside from the restaurant, that has baked good that are just beautiful (and delicious).

Bailee P.

Yelp
My mouth is watering thinking about the dessert case... I love coming to mirabelles (even if I only have time for a coffee) to sit in the window and watch everyone with a place to be outside. The location is great for a bakery and cafe and the food is even better. There are a lot of breakfast places in Burlington but this is truly one of my favorite.

Hank N.

Yelp
Got a cake for a birthday, 6" seemed too small initially, but boy was I wrong. Delectable mousse that compromised almost the whole cake, with just a touch of "cake" to balance it out. Personally could have used more of the raspberry glaze on top. Very rich can't have more than a slice

Kay M.

Yelp
I've been familiar with Mirabelles for many years and it's always a favorite go-to for breakfast pastries and cakes. Today was the 1st Anniversary for the business that I work for and I wanted to get them something special to celebrate so of course I chose Mirabelles! I bought the new white cake with passion fruit (I don't remember the full description) because it was decorated like a Birthday cake. It was the most incredible cake! Absolutely delicious! My children have always loved the triple chocolate mousse cake as a family favorite, today I have a new favorite! Thank u Mirabelles! They never disappoint!

Chris S.

Yelp
Awesome breakfast! I was very happy to see them open since there is a snow storm is going on and most places are closed. There are no regrets about this being the only place open. I had the Popover Breakfast..... it was very tasty. The salmon is perfectly smoked and not salty. The portion of eggs fills a large popover which is super crispy and the hash browns are crisp as well. Definitely a great meal!

Kristin C.

Yelp
What a delight Burlington is and Mirabelles was a lovely sweet spot for our day trip. it was very busy, but it is President's Day. We were promptly seated after a table opened up. Service is relaxed, but good. We sampled the Moroccan chicken soup with couscous and the tarragon chicken salad sandwich splitting the dishes to make sure we left room to sample something from the bakery. The soup was flavorful, well seasoned and overall very very good. There were an abundance of carrots and smaller amounts of other vegetables. I would 100% get it again, it was great. The chicken salad is served on brioche which, although it doesn't say so, is not a roll it's bread and it is toasted which does not stand up to the filling. It makes it difficult to eat, eventually we just gave up and used a fork. When eaten in one bite, the avocado pairs well with the picked red onion and the tarragon, but that's hard to accomplish with the bread. It just fell apart and disintegrated into bits the size of a crouton & dust. There is a nice assortment of teas, coffee and bottled natural sodas, but no coke, pepsi. The cola was just meh. We opted for a meringue-cookie a few french macarons which were so good we bought two boxes to give as gifts for friends we'd planned to visit later in the day. There were small cakes & tarts all looked beautiful and delicious. Overall, we very much enjoyed Mirabelles.

Meagan B.

Yelp
I ordered a cake I've ordered every year and this year I'm so disappointed as they changed the design and its so very underwhelming. I asked the associate if this was the right one as it wasn't the same as years past, she shrugged and said maybe they changed the design. I'm sure it will taste great but the beauty is missing the mark. Party cake woes.
