Highlights

Miraflores Winery is one of the four Pleasant Valley wineries in Placerville. This small winery region is proud to be known as El Dorado's "Rhone Zone", specializing in both Northern and Southern Rhone varietals such as Viognier, Syrah, Mourvedre, Grenache, and many more. Miraflores specializes not only in these particular varietals but also many more including Zinfandel, Barbera, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo-just to name a few. Miraflores is also proud to offer an incredible and unique dessert wine program. Miraflores is El Dorado County's premium destination for wine and food pairing events, specializing in Summer PAIRINGS lunches from July to October on their scenic patio overlooking high elevation estate vineyards. These events feature four course chef prepared menus expertly paired with wine, chosen from the winery's onsite Sommelier. These events are highlighted among many other food and wine centric events held at the beautiful tasting room in addition to year round complimentary barrel tasting. With 220 acres, including 42 of which are planted vines, with various micro climates, there are 16 different varietals planted on the estate. Renowned winemaker Marco Cappelli and his protege, Fernando Abarca, are masters at creating bold and elegant hand crafted wines that blend new and old world techniques.

"Miraflores Winery produces award-winning wines, but its Mediterranean-inspired tasting room and elevated views are transportive. Walk-ins can do a tasting at the bar, but if you prefer to do a flight on the patio (and you do) make a reservation and take in the gorgeous views. The winery also offers summer food and wine pairing events with guest chefs plus tours of the vineyard with a reservation." - Dianne de Guzman

Incredible service and delicious wine, my favorite is the Viogner. They are always kind, welcoming, and go above and beyond for my family. Today we went to the summer wine pairing and it went far beyond what I was expecting. The serving staff was just as wonderful, the food was superb. We love this winery!

We have been here before and like the wines a lot. This time, we tried the weekend food and wine pairing. Outstanding experience. Very thoughtful combinations. Beautiful presentation. And all together a wonderful afternoon out on the patio. The wine club options are very good as well.

A friend invited me to have lunch at Miraflores. This was my first time at this winery and I had a wonderful experience. The 4 course meal was prepared by an experienced local chef (they switch out the chefs every weekend) and the food was excellent. The view was breathtaking from our table out on to the vineyards on outdoor patio seating. Got to do a little wine tasting afterwards. Delicious wines and atmosphere. Such a beautiful place. Love having a winery close by to us and can't wait to bring my husband next time.

Amazing!!! This team creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that's sure to make one forget about the cold temperatures! Definitely worth the trip!

Flew in from the east coast to celebrate my 60th birthday. Miraflores, its dessert flight and Viognier Estate 2018 were fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful memory.

Google
Some wines are nice, some are ok. I used to enjoy coming here, but the tasting room experience has become increasingly disorganized. There are some tasting room staff members who are so grating or unfriendly that this place no longer feels welcoming.

Google
One of my favorite wineries to visit in the area. Miraflores has more 90+ scoring wines in Wine Spectator than any other winery in the area. Not only do they make great wines, but they have a wide variety of wines for every palate. They have a white flight, several red flights and even a “sweet” wine flight. Their property and tasting facility is beautiful as well. Highly recommended.

Google
Not only were the wines spectacular but the staff was also highly accommodating of the new covid guidelines while not deterring from the experience at all! From the disposable wine glasses we got to keep, to the self guided tasting, and social distance patio tables; we never felt unsafe and ended up spending a couple of hours in the patio with a picnic basket and a bottle of their Grenache. Our small dog also loved the breeze and the view!

Yelp
Came here on a Friday afternoon with friends who are members. It almost feels like you're hidden out in the forest. There was barely anyone there so it was super quiet although we did make a reservation in advance. We ordered the full cheeseboard and then the four of us each selected our own tasting. There's 4 different options - an all white, a mix, and 2 all reds. I wanted the all whites with 1 red, the 1851 and they were easily able to adjust my tasting! After the tastings we felt like we didn't have enough so we ordered a bottle of the 1851. It's a chilled red and perfect for the hot summer if you're hoping for something cool but don't want white. There's a tasting bar inside and then a large patio out back with views of the vines. We are looking forward to going back again soon!

Yelp
This winery gets best in show award on this trip to Amador County for our annual Nevada day wine tasting excursion!! Their architecture brings you to the old wine country with huge beams, deep windows and beautiful art. The tasting here is generous with a pick of five wines off their list. We enjoyed them all, hard to choose which to purchase! Tastings for Nevadans were free with wine purchase and 30% off this weekend. Pretty nice deal! Beautiful gardens and ponds graced the outdoors and tasting is available inside or out. Water and crackers are provided for customers. Definitely will put this on next years rotation!

Brian G.

Yelp
Miraflores has a beautiful tasting rooms with old wood beams collected from Oakland and an inspiring open air patio with umbrellas that beckon you to rest awhile with some wine. Honestly, we felt that we came to the right place when we first walked in. Luckily, we had 10 minutes with the place all to ourselves. I wish I could say the rest of our experience was as stellar as our first impression. We ordered 3 flights with nary a description from the staff about the wines that we were drinking. That was first. I've visited many a winery up and down the state and across the world, but this was the first time the staff didn't even offer a word about what were drinking. No matter. We were seated under the arbor so we laughed it off and settled in. The wines were ok. We didn't find any that particularly caught our attention. The tasting is $20/pp, which did raise some eyebrows - we aren't talking about Napa. 2 bottles will cancel one tasting. We grabbed two bottles as a memento, both of which were priced $5-$10 more than what I'd expect to pay for a bottle of the same caliber. It's a lovely winery and may be worth a visit if you're tasting in the area, but as others have noted, there are some other worthwhile wineries that may offer more in terms of value and variety that may suit your tastes.

Yelp
Amazing service, food and awesome atmosphere!! Amazing wine and I've never been treated better at a winery. The place looks brand new, but with a amazing old rustic look.

Carol E.

Yelp
Such a lovely setting and we discovered some really good wines. It would have been nice however, to have a follow-up visit from the server after she brought the tasting flights and charcuterie plate to our patio table. We might have been able to chat more about the wines and sometimes, we are even offered additional wines to try once the server establishes our interests. Instead, we were just left alone. I see this as a lost opportunity for both the winery and customer to possibly enjoy additional purchases.

Lisa G.

Yelp
It was the first time my husband and I had been to Miraflores Winery. The grounds are pretty, the inside is gorgeous, and the patio is really awesome! We got two flights and sat on the patio. The wines are really flavorful and the service was extraordinary! Shout out to Debbie, as she took good care of me and my husband! We signed up for the wine club, and we are looking forward to returning for some of the upcoming events. We strongly recommend this winery experience!

Grant C.

Yelp
One of the best wineries in the area for atmosphere, warm staff, and excellent wines. The tasting room is beautiful with an elegant Mediterranean vibe overlooking pine forests, rolling hills, and grape vines. There's a large patio as well. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Very laid back place. Wines are great. Good variety of reds and whites. They have bubbles too! I really liked their Cabernet Sauvignon and the Zinfandel. But everything we had was great. Hill was particularly wonderful!

Jeremy R.

Yelp
Coming in at number 2 overall for our wine and food adventure was beautiful Miraflores winery. We relaxed in their peaceful land comfortable outdoor tasting pavilion and enjoyed wonderful wines and a Greek food themed pairing. Staff were wonderful and the wines were very well made. Definitely not a stop you want to skip!

Tiffany K.

Yelp
Discovered this via the Passport to Wine as part of the Legends of Wine event. Miraflores participated in this event and, loving the wines, I thought I would venture out for myself to check them out. A little off the beaten path, the drive here is through El Dorado County and not too far from Placerville. Google maps may get you a little lost, so pay attention to where to turn instead of the actual street signs. Driving up, you will pass up the old tasting room and find the newer one with its historical and antique accoutrements. Loved the ancient stone sink as well as the metal doors which date back to the Gold Rush era. The affable pouring staff make the experience more enjoyable and tastings are only $5. Honestly I can't recall which wine stood out to me, as I found the majority of them to be to my liking, but they do waive tasting fees if you purchase a bottle. Fantastic little outdoors patio and I heard they do events here as well. Loved the winery cat.

steve s.

Yelp
First time visiting this winery, and they have a lovely patio area ideal for wine tasting. Great selection of wine flights and purchased their 2016 Estate Reserve Trilegato wine that was a hit with friends back in the Bay Area.

Derek N.

Yelp
What an amazing find! Great wine and even better Staff! Mick, Jill, Ashley and Tara! You're amazing and can't wait to get back! Make the trip folks, the facility will blow your mind!

Tracey H.

Yelp
We are long time wine enthusiasts and members of several other wineries in the region. Our recent experience aligns with the other one star review. It was in stark comparison to our experience at Rehnquist and Holly Hill just prior to our visit at Mira Flores. We have been there several times and it feels as though the management and attitude towards customers has changed drastically. We were excited to have time in our day to make it out there as our previous visits were very positive. Now it feels as though it's like every other winery albeit in Napa. Be prepared to pay to taste and pay for cheese but don't ask for bread! Lol. Quite a stark comparison to Rehnquist. We did taste and purchase some wine and were greatly disappointed that some items we paid for were missing such as the $8 small wedge of cheese. I echo the sentiment of the other one star review in that an email lured us out there and the offerings were inconsistent with the promise.

Annalee H.

Yelp
Excellent wines, absolutely wonderful staff! And the property is gorgeous, many varietals grown onsite in view. Large antique beams as you walk into the winery capture your imagination... call before for appointment though! Couldn't help but join the wine club after this tasting!!! Thank you for exceptional wines In Pleasant Valley

Jenessa E.

Yelp
Such a beautiful winery, I loved the history of the winery and how every detail had a back story. The wines were delicious, the barrel tastings were fun and I loved the customizable cheese baskets. We'll be back to pick up our 1/2 case once it's bottled!

Ray V.

Yelp
I stopped by today at Miraflores to buy their on sale wines however; the guy in the tasting room told me I can't buy either one of the on sale wines because I'm not a club member. I informed him, I am on the mailing list and they emailed me that the wines are on sale, it wasn't specified on the email that only club members can buy the on sale wines. I drove over one hour, but I wasted my time, money gas etc and whatever the miscommunication was at the end of the day, its their big loss to turn away a good potential customer. Customer service in this winery was very poor and substandard. Folks, DO Not go to this winery, you'll get disappointed and will ruin your day. There are lots of good wineries in the area e.g Madrona, Boegel etc. and their customer service was pretty impressive. I will never go back to Miraflores, it was the worst winery I've ever been!!!

Joe S.

Yelp
We entered the tasting room at Miraflores Winery there was only a few people. We noticed a sign stating Reservations only. A woman came up to us and asked if we had a reservation. We replied that we did not. The woman snarled, "All wineries in the El Dorado County require a reservation!" We politely told her we have been at several wineries in El Dorado County without a reservation. She responded," They are not as popular as Miraflores!" We told her we drove 30 miles from home, but the woman responded, "Miraflores Winery is the most popular winery in El Dorado County, so you will have to come back after you make a reservation!" As we headed to our vehicle a young man ran out to the parking lot and told us that he overheard the conversation and he could seat us for a tasting. He apologized for the woman's behavior and told us "We have received complaints about her. " I thanked the young man for coming out to talk to us and explained to him that we could not enjoy a wine tasting at Miraflores Winery after being treated that way. The young man said he understood.

Yelp
If I could give a zero I would. This winery went from a five to a zero. My girlfriend and I were wineclub members for over ten years. Years before the new tasting room was even built. We spent 1,000s of dollars on their wine. Went in recently and have never been treated more rudely by someone in my life than the lady working behind the bar. Julie used to welcome is with open arms, it felt like family. Marco the wine maker used to offer us grapes from his vineyards to make wine, we absolutely loved the experience. Met the owners many times. Now, in 2022, this lady behind the bar said Miraflores is cooperate now and is not a mom and pop operation any more. Don't ever expect anyone to know you anymore. She wouldn't even let me pick up the four quarters I had paid for with my creditcard because my other half was not with me and her name was the primary. That is the exact reason I don't visit the big names in Napa anymore. There are plenty of much better wineries in the area that still treat you like a human. Needless to say I cancelled our membership on the spot. I'll never spend another dollar on Miraflores after how I was treated as a very loyal wineclub member. Not to mention charging for only five tastings only now. Next will be $40 for three one ounce pours. Don't try and be Napa, it is a huge turn off in the foothills.

Jia C.

Yelp
I've been coming here for 10 years now, it's absolutely heaven on earth! Like a fine wine, this place gets better with age. (If you ever have the chance to come to Summer pairings, do it!!)

Tori S.

Yelp
We had an amazing time at Miraflores. The staff were so friendly and we loved the options of the different flights to choose from! Everyone in our group was able to get something different as we all have very different palates and wine preferences. The wine was delicious and I was so excited to try their Mission as it is something I've never had before, and don't see it often. The Primitivo was also another favorite of ours, as well as the 2018 Viognier, the Tintoretto, and the dessert wines were all delicious! The property was gorgeous, I could've sat there for hours listening to the fountain on the patio and soaking up the scenery. So relaxing and enjoyable. We will definitely be back soon!

Ryan R.

Yelp
I'm so glad we found this stunning winery. The grounds are absolutely stunning. The wine was 10 out of 10 and the staff was absolutely AMAZING, they were all so kind. We can't wait to come back and share this place with friends. We'll be back soon for the food and wine pairing that they do for the summer through September, and to do a wine tour. Thanks for being so awesome to us!

Frank O.

Yelp
It is exciting to see such a finely built winery grow into something that portrays the grapes of the region, which are mostly Rhone based. The wines here have matured and definitely improved over the years. I purchased the 2014 Mourvedre and the 2013 Zinfandel on my recent visit as these were both excellent wines. The 2014 Reserve Zinfandel was the real killer wine. But at $50 a pop it is just a bit pricey for most wallets. Beautiful patio, great dessert wines and an amazing ambience in the wine room with friendly servers. If you get to come out for one of their Vertical Syrah tastings you'll be in heaven.

Deb B.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite spots to go for wine tasting! Charlotte always takes great care of us!! The whole staff is wonderful. We love to come wine tasting and bring friends here. Always a wonderful time!

Julie E.

Yelp
Whatever you do, do not buy the Miraflores Picnic Basket for $23.00. It's a huge waste of money. Awful dry crackers, a wedge of cheese in a vacuumed sealed wrap that you cannot open, salami, raw walnuts, a small container of honey, and 4 apricots. It menu said honey walnuts, but apparently you simply dip them in honey yourself which was a mess. You could not cut the cheese wedge with the plastic fork they give you so had to break it apart with your bare hands. Then you are forced to try to stack a small cracker with a piece of salami that is three times larger than the cracker, and put a chunk of cheese that you had to break off with your fingers. Honestly it was ridiculous. My suggestion would be a soft spreadable cheese to use with the plastic tableware, better crackers, smaller salami, more fruit and skip the 5 walnuts in the dixie cup.

Sly Creative Media Group S.

Yelp
Breathtaking winery and exceptional customer service with a wide-ranging lineup. There is always something exciting happening on the weekends like their Summer Pairings with local chefs, Soup Sundays in the winter and they even have outdoor painting classes and feature different artists in their tasting room each month. Highly recommend!

Donna J.

Yelp
MIraflores offers a delicious selection of Rhone style wines. Their staff and especially Ashlee are incredibly warm, friendly and helpful. Thank you Donna

Nicole P.

Yelp
What an exceptional winery! Being from Texas, we love to explore and find hidden gems. We did! Lisa listened and laughed with us throughout the tasting! Thank you for the hospitality!

Josh S.

Yelp
Hats off to Miraflores, the wife & I have been club members here since long before she was the wife. A lot has changed along the way, they've built a new tasting room with a kitchen and a gorgeous patio. One thing that hasn't changed... The quality of the wine. I encourage you to stop by. The staff is always warm, friendly, helpful & knowledgeable. Give yourself a few minutes on the patio, you'll forget you're in pleasant valley and think you're in Tuscany. My favorite has always been the methode ancienne or the black muscat dessert wine.

Jenayu R.

Yelp
This is a lovely gem in EDC. My mom and I stumbled upon this winery around 5 years ago and we have been hooked ever since! We signed up as club members that day. They do amazing events throughout the year - such as soup Sunday's during the cool season, featuring a variety of soups and chefs - so there is something for everyone. One time I went in for a tasting and to pick up a shipment and they were having a Mad Hatter Tea party themed event. It was decorated immaculately and those attending were having a great time! The employees all participated dressing up as different characters and it was a wonderful event! I have also attended a wine and food pairing event which was phenomenal as well as a chocolate truffle making class that was fun! The outdoor area boasts plenty of outdoor seating, both in the sun and shaded, which makes it a great place to bring snacks and/or a picnic meal and hang out relaxing with friends. The winery tasting room and outdoor area sit up on a hill with gorgeous views of the vines and pine trees in the near distance. This place is the perfect combination for those looking for a winery feel in a forest setting. I have brought friends multiple times, all of whom enjoyed the scenery and the wines. As a person who is very picky about wines I drink, I can honestly say this winery has ZERO unsatisfactory wines. I personally always prefer red, however the whites, rosé wines, and the dessert wines here are incredible. I highly recommend the Pinot Grigio for a white and the Black Muscat Rosé. All of the reds are worth trying (and buying!), but personally I do recommend the 1853 Mission, the Reserve Zinfandel, and the Tempranillo. And it doesn't stop there. I admit I do not often enjoy dessert or sweet wines, but the Viogner Ice Wine is definitely worth having on hand at home - it is light enough to enjoy anytime of the year. Also, the Botricelli is to die for!! BUY IT BUY IT BUY IT!!!! Finally, I recommend the Black Muscat NV for a dessert wine. It is something to have on hand for a holiday or special occasion. Quite delicious!! Stop by and try the wines and hang out for a while. You won't regret it!!

Allison C.

Yelp
We have brought many friends from out of the area here because the wines are exceptional and service is friendly. They have top-notch events (although staff is a little harried during those) which are a lot of fun. Ashlee is especially friendly and a wealth of information. You can tell she loves what she does. Also, props to the guys who do the barrel tastings. I always learn a lot about tasting and varietals from them.

Lydia K.

Yelp
Our favorite winery for two reasons: exceptional wines AND amazing staff! The wine club is great too.

Debi S.

Yelp
Miraflores is our favorite winery! We've been coming here for a few years now and it never disappoints. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, willing to share their expertise, and always happy to serve you the award-winning, superb wines they produce in El Dorado County. They have a nice variety of wines - white, red, and some amazing dessert wines! Miraflores brings in guest chefs to prepare the most amazing wine pairing lunches, served on their beautiful patio with views of the vineyards. We are club members and enjoy attending all the various events Miraflores hosts throughout the year. We're grateful we stumbled upon this hidden gem in Pleasant Valley!

Frank D.

Yelp
Fantastic winery! Great selection of reds that include Rhone (Grenache, Syrah, etc), Spanish varietals (Tempranillo) and of course Zinfandel. Decent selection of whites...with my favorite being the Viognier. Definitely worth the drive. Pack a picnic, and enjoy the terrace!

Mark H.

Yelp
We stopped in after getting a recommendation from a nearby vineyard. So glad we did. Not only did we get to taste great wines but we got to watch a grape stomp. This place is great. The staff is very knowledgeable about their wines along with all California wines. We also got to sample wines straight from the barrels. We had a great time. The wines here are fantastic and we left with 2 bottles and pre ordered 1/2 a case from one of the barrel tasting. Highly recommend coming here while in the Placerville area.

Craig R.

Yelp
A very nice winery with wonderful staff and fun events. My main critique is that, while some of their wines are very good, others are meh. Over all, well worth frequenting.

Jenn N.

Yelp
This winery is so beautiful and friendly. The huge stone patio and fountain are breathtaking. There is a lovely covered area off to the side. It is perfect for picnics or receptions. They have a full line of well crafted Zins and a wonderful Barbera. The Black Muscat is delectably sweet and velvety. The bottle is one you will want to display. I was here for a special event and won 20% off for answering a trivia question. I put that discount to good use!

Vickie C.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to hang out while sipping on a lovely bottle of Chardonnay or a wonderful Zinfandel. I recently attending a cooking class given by Damon Barham. The food was delicious and the wines were exceptional. He features recipes from around the world and I learned so many things about Curry, getting the pith off a pomegranate and how to get a light, fluffy croissant! And, at $40 per person it was truly a bargain. I am now a member of their wine club and thoroughly enjoyed their 2013 Petit Sirah, so much so that I made sure to buy another bottle the very next day.

Joe M.

Yelp
Wonderful experience---excellent lunch, delightful company, great wines and very helpful, friendly staff. I would highly recommend this winery to all friends to visit when they go to this area.

Bernard L.

Yelp
It had been about 4 years since I last visited this winery. I was impressed by how the quality of the wines has steadily improved over the years. We enjoyed the mourvedre, all thee zins, the malbec and methode ancienne syrah. The only miss was the muscat canelli, a fortified desert wine which was way too sweet. My only advice is that this winery probably produces too many varieties. This is attractive to customers, but rarely leads to excellence.

Mandee L.

Yelp
What a beautiful afternoon my boyfriend and I had wine tasting and watching the humming birds fly around the flowers. It was truly a fairytale place to spend our afternoon. We got a cheese plate and enjoyed tasting several different wines and laughing and story telling with our lovely host! We will definitely be back!

Meg D.

Yelp
Oh my gosh !!! What a beautiful winery and setting ! The grounds are kept up so nicely and the tasting room is awesome. The pourers are so helpful and friendly with any questions you might have . The wine .... . I found my favorite new wine to share and drink. You have to try the Mision !!! Crazy good ! Hits all the points ! It also is an added benefit for me to live just 2.5 miles away .

Rick R.

Yelp
Benvenuto a Tuscany. Miraflores is a wonderful escape to Old World Tuscany. The wine selection and quality from the estate surrounding the tasting room is superb. And a wonderful outdoor covered portico overlooking the vineyards for your antipasto respite. Hopefully, you will have Savanna as your wine hostess!

Lyndsey G.

Yelp
I love this place. I love the wines. I love the view. I love the staff. (We always come on mondays and get to hang out with Diana and Savannah). We joined the wine club and are so excited for the pairings. We've been driving up all the way from Sacramento almost weekly now just to take in the view and relax with some great wine. This is our happy place!

Gini S.

Yelp
Miraflores Winery has been and remains one of my top favorite wineries. I have been more than loyal and an enthusiastic wine-snob since this winery started serving the always tasty, fabulous and seriously wonderful wines created by Marco Capelli. I do not believe he knows how to make a bad wine, at least not one he will allow to be sold. The staff in the tasting room is knowledgeable, kind and always attentive. I was happy to be able to visit on a summer trip to El Dorado county and to bring home several bottle of pure pleasure. I even enjoy some of the dessert wines although sweet wine usually is not my choice. The location is beautiful, the tasting room is a study in history and wonder, and the many events are worth including in one's calendar when possible. This is truly my happy place.

Michael B.

Yelp
A beautiful hidden gem in Pleasant Valley. Many of my favorite wines have come from here.

Kathleen N.

Yelp
Excellent Tempranillo, a hard to fine wine here in the USA. The winery raises its own Tempranillo grapes, a varietal from Spain. Also many other varietals. Tbe tasting room is out of the way but worth the detour. Many original artworks decorate the interior and outdoors there is a contemplatjve landscape. The tasting staff us friendly and helpful.

Buck D.

Yelp
Solid wines! Exceptional port style wines. And the staff is some of the nicest in the county!

Darcy R.

Yelp
What an insanely beautiful winery! I spent hours here today ; ) There is so much to look at both inside and out. The wines were good... there were so many to choose from! Sat out on the patio and enjoyed the 2007 syrah. Took home a bottle of the pinot grigio. I also liked the muscat canelli I would love to come back to try one of the meals they serve out on the patio. The food and wine pairing looked amazing!

Anthony R.

Yelp
Must visit! Wine is a tough thing to review since it is one of those things that two people can have 100% different opinion on and both be 100% correct. It truly is personal preference. Personally I think they are some of the best tasting wines in the area. That of course is debatable but I have tried a lot of places. What I think isn't debatable is that Miraflores has one of the most beautiful tasting rooms in the area and set in a perfect spot for a bring your own picnic. Which they encourage you to do. The workers are both knowledgeable and extremely friendly. They pour a huge selection of wines Red, White, and Sweet. They also often have multiple vintages open of the same variety so you can explore the differences in different vintages. As of writing this, there is no tasting fee but folks this isn't Napa. Please please purchase something when you taste in the area unless you have just a terrible experience. These are small business that are pouring the heart and soul into their passion and giving you a fantastic experience at a great price. If your kids have to come along it is also decent for them. The tasting room looks out onto a stone patio so the kids could be outside and you can keep and active eye on them at all times. Unless it is in the summer and they are having one of their fabulous lunch events. The wine is reasonably priced and if you join the club you get a great discount. The club is a great deal and very straight forward. By mid afternoon on the weekends it could get a little crowded. I would recommend stopping here first, not just to beat any potential crowd but to also experience the wine before your taste buds start to blend together.

Michelle P.

Yelp
Miraflores is my new favorite winery. Not only do I like some of the wines, but the owner Victor Alvarez is a fantastic storyteller. In fact he kind of reminded me of my grandfather, except instead of having a thick French accent, he had a Spanish one. Along with a number of other wines, Alvarez was pouring his 2006, 2007 and 2008 Zinfandels the weekend I visited. He says his 2006 Zinfandel probably has the best nose out of the ones he has and even though it's older than the other two, it is only just becoming complex. But the 2007 is not to be shunned. It is the highest rated Zinfandel in the area. And then there's his 2008 Zinfandel. Mmmm.mmmmm...good. However, the 2007 was my favorite. But Zins were only the beginning. There were many more wines to taste afer this one. I tasted his Barbera and it was excellent. The particular vintage is not on the list yet as he just put it in the bottle a few days ago, but let me tell you that this wine did smell fabulous. It had a delicate floral character to it. It was beautiful and had the makings of a good wine. I'm definitely going back to get it when he's ready to sell that vintage. A couple other vintages that are worth mentioning is the winery's Mouvedre and their Cabernet Sauvignon. Both are sill in the barrel, but they will let you taste it (and buy it) as part of their futures. While the Zinfandels, Barbera and the futures are all worth trying, it was Miraflores' sweet wines that were most memorable. It may because Alvarez tries to stay true to the wine by using traditional grapes or it could because of the passion his winemaker has for sweet wines. In either case, the wines were impressive. The first one we tried was their 2008 Botricelli which was a Sauterne model and an 80/20 Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Alvarez makes only 240 cases a year of this wine. But OMG...this wine was soooo good. I ended up taking a bottle home with me and wish I bought more. It's like drinking a little piece of heaven. The next wine was the Black Muscat, which smelled like violets. It was smooth, with a long incredible finish. This one was also fantastic. I loved the violet smell and it tasted really good. I almost bought this one too, but held back. Now I'm regretting the decision and may have to go back for it.

Yelp
Amazing place to visit. The winery is so pretty. We were able to taste many down to earth flights if what is a wonderful wine The setting us that if any winery in Napa or Sonoma. We were treated to a private barrel tasting that was out of this world.
