My top 3-5 places in Kyiv to have a nice breakfast or dinner. Very good wine cart from Sabotage.

Friends here in Kyiv highly recommended this place and after doing my research I came here with high expectations. We made a reservation for 2 for breakfast specifying that it was our anniversary . They sat us at the table closest to the bathroom plus the glass window was broken . I had their iconic Tel Aviv falafel dish and was very disappointed . The inside of the falafel was too moist , there were too many sunflower seeds that completely covered all the other flavors , the Nduja sauce could not be perceived at all . I wonder how is it possible that such a strong and aromatic ingredient that I use very often in my recipes is not perceived at all in this dish ? The only taste I could detect in my mouth was a salty aftertaste of seed . Then I would like to make one last point , Falafel is a common dish of poor origin , something to grab with your hands and share with your diners , you can't put only 1 Falafel in the plate moreover already opened . Where is the surprise of taking the knife and cutting the Falafel in 2 and seeing the creaminess of the egg come out ? When we finished eating the waitress asked if we liked our dishes and I told her that maybe there was a problem with my dish since I did not perceive the Nduja sauce . She responded by saying that she was surprised that I knew about Nduja because no one here in Kyiv knows what it is 😅 and then added it is called Falafel Tel Aviv not Falafel Nduja ...

My favorite and just lovely place in Kyiv🙌 Definitely something non-ordinary every time (while the dish could be simple at a first glance)

Possibly the only restaurant that with get a Michelin Star in Kyiv at foreseeable future, so I will rate it accordingly. Immediately when you enter you have a feeling they took inspiration from Noma, from plating to food presentation to kitchen and restaurant design. Without a doubt food is on the right level, but they should work a bit on service, since to be able to get a 1 star, which I wish them to get, storytelling is crucial part.

Amazing place You can taste very original dishes, from local products (organic mostly). Special dishes changes from week to week. Very nice service. You can order vine from store nearby.

Just best place to try unique food in Kyiv, love it!! Coming here on casual days and to celebrate smth special 🥰

Unfortunately I have to down-revise the previous review (see below)which I wrote right after visiting. We were three guests and that night and next day all of us suffered from severe food poisoning. Not acceptable at any reataurant and unforgivable for a restaurant of such a price category I would have loved to give 5* for the food. As a Swiss citizen the menu is not unusual for me. But the dishes are prepared and presented on a very high level and it is the only restaurant I visited in Kyiv so far which could easily obtain a Michelin star for its creativity, product quality, presentation , service, sommelier, etc. The only Bemol is the excessive salt in all sauces. On commenting about it I was told that it is a very regular complaint and that it is the philosophy of the restaurant to add that much salt. I would love the management to reconsider this position. The dishes are otherwise extremely well balanced in all ingredients, herbes and spices and the excess of salt adds absolutely nothing original and in addition it is unhealthy which is an important factor to take into consideration. I am pretty sure that this also stops the restaurant from receiving an otherwise well merited Michelin star. Besides that I love the open kitchen and the passion of the cooks can be felt. The service and the sommelier are exceptional and we had a extremely pleasant evening at Mirali. But i doubt that I will return until their „salt philosophy“ changes which I hope management will revise eventually.

I heard great reviews about “Mirali”. Finally arrived in Kyiv, stopped by for breakfast. The whole atmosphere of the place speaks of a cheerful level of quality right from the doorstep. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly. This is truly a place worth visiting and returning to again.
