Google
Cool Indian grocery store. You'll find unique things from the Indian cuisine, which probably won't exist elsewhere. Ready-made dishes as well as basic ingredients needed for cooking and preparing things from scratch. Also, they have unique produce items. A huge variety of snacks which are spicy, sweet, sour and everything in between.

Laura V

Google
Great store for buying dry goods like rice, lentils and spices. A lot of organic goods and fresh produce. They also sell some authentic Indian hygiene and personal care products. Good prices.

Rahul Sharma

Google
Bad produce. We bought mangoes and they were all rotten inside. We reported it but was told that all sale is final. How are we supposed to know how a fruit is from inside without cutting it? Not good customer service and rude. Avoid

Milap Desai

Google
Simply the best Indian Grocery Store of San Diego. The selection is huge, rates are competitive, great parking, One can have Darshan at neighbering Laxmi Venkateshwar and Saibaba temple using same parking.

Google
Best Indian store in San Diego.. But not great.. Whenever I go to Indian store in East coast, bay area, los Angeles or even Arizona I find so many varieties of foods and items...Here Same stuff again and again. It would be great if they add more delicacies and provide more options

Google
Very huge Indian grocery store! Their are many different products available and so many snacks or farsans available, but the aisles are extremely narrow and the fresh produce section is like a small Black Friday! Too too many people and it’s very crowded and I have to walk all around to get vegetables ! The vegetable section is large but all compacted into small place so crowding always happens! Especially after 5 pm the store is crowded with everyone and no space for anyone and the check out stations are very full and extreme long lines! There is a good amount of old vegetables on the ground by produce section which makes it a bit unpleasant to buy groceries!

Google
Huge selection of Indian products and produce. Lots of household items from India and surrounding countries. Very clean store very well organized. Prices are a bit higher than similar stores in the area. However, they certainly have a larger selection of food, goods, and household items than any other store in the area

Nandana Hettiarachi

Google
Seems like the largest Indian grocery store in Sothern California. Good choice of vegetables, groceries, spices, Indian frozen food , frozen meals and non frozen ready to eat meals. They also have a video range of liquor. Place is clean and the check our staff was very efficient

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place while waiting for my car. It was an awesome find. It has a very fairly priced produce section and it carries a vast variety of produce. Stuff you'd find in a grocery plus many that are harder to find in your average grocery store. The spice selection was equally as vast and amazing. There's lots of different curry mixes, roti, paneer, snacks, coffees, teas, cookies... there were ample staff if you have questions or need help finding something. The store was clean and well organized and stocked. There's a huge parking lot that shares with gyms and eateries but it wasn't hard to find parking. I'll be back!

Yelp
Fresh produce, good variety of food. Indian market on Miramar Rd. Affordable prices

Yelp
Love this Indian grocery store, full of fresh produce and unique greens....yea, fresh curry leaves! Aisles of savory snacks, spices, every type of basmati rice, lentils, garbanzo, sauces, curry pastes and more. Huge freezers full of frozen samosas, naan, Indian entrees. Refrigerators full of paneer, Indian yogurt, roti. Ample parking to.

Yelp
My mom and her sisters have been coming here since it opened. I finally came with my mom to do some shopping. I once again am attempting to cook Indian food and we came here to purchase ingredients. WOW so impressive! They have everything we needed and then some. You can buy speciality cookware, stainless dishes, spices, produce, dry goods, snacks....all the stuff you buy in India...but here! Super impressed. I know I'll be back

Lily B.

Yelp
They have a lot of various Indian spices, which is really helpful like turmeric and Thai chili for cooking. They also have like ready-made those sauce that you just have to fry in order to make it so I love the place. It's super helpful..

Yelp
This is my go to place for all my Indian grocery and produce. There is plenty parking and the store is welll laid out. They have everything you need for your Indian cooking and much more. I always make sure to stock up on my spices, snacks and Indian ice creams here, I love that they have Organic lentils, rice and flour available. A must visit for all cooks out there!

Yelp
Solid Indian market with a huge variety of products, including fresh, prepared, frozen, canned/bagged, and more. I love shopping here because they have a really good selection of organic spices, beans, rice, and more direct from India. Always fun to look around and see what they've got. Plenty of parking and good service. I go during the week to avoid the crowds.

Yelp
Great place. I went in hoping to find Indian bitter gourd, a good garlic achaar, assam tea, and some quality star anise. I left with all that and a bag of chips (really, the curry Lays were a new one to me) having spent less than I'd planned. They keep the place clean and organized, too.

Yelp
Here is my experience with Cash and Carry. Never buy fresh coconut, most of the time it was rotten, I wasted lot of money. Always check the bill with the items in your cart, there are items in the bill you did not buy. Take time to check before you load them in your car. Yesterday, there item was included in the bill for 5 lb, it took time to get the refund. There are many inexperienced cashier are working, they add items in your bill unknowingly. Please check before you leave.

Yelp
My son in law lives in Guatemala and is Pakistani. He is unable to find any food or spices from his home country there. I've search all of East County, San Diego, and have found a few things that were similar. But was told about thus store and was so happy. They had everything he asked for and the employees were so helpful. I'm 77 years old and a native Californian. I have no idea of what I was looking for other than a picture and the employees, and other customers, were more than happy to help me. And my Son in law was sooooo happy to get a taste of home. The 45 minute was well worth it. I highly recommend this store.

Yelp
Fabulous. If you can't find what you need for cooking Indian dishes here - it doesn't exist.

Yelp
The best store for Indian items, but probably the saddest and worst maintained among the ethnic food stores in SD( Hmart, 99 Ranch etc) Good Wide variety of groceries Produce which you don't find in Ralph's or vons They have all the spices you need for cheap! Compare cardamom powder prices in store vs anywhere else Bad Shabby looking store. No marked restrooms. No decent cart corral Compare how good and bright and well tiled your other ethnic stores look vs this dingy store Employees always sulky ( I don't care about this) and now they have a guy checking receipts at the door? Is this an apple store with $1000+ items? Okay, they do sell apples Expired products keep cropping up on the shelves because they don't check Produce quality may be cheap but is waay inferior compared to hmart et al No deli/ fresh food counter

D S.

Yelp
Unreliable delivery service! They missed the delivery and when called, the person who picked the phone was extremely rude. In person is bad and online quality is even worse. Shame!

Jay K.

Yelp
Very high prices compared to Midwest and east coast Indian grocery stores. It is California and no other choice in the area
google avatar

Yelp
There are not many Indian grocery stores in San Diego. This is the biggest. They have everything I ever need. The prices for spices, grains, oil and rice are good. Also for garlic naan. Some of the fruit & vegetables are priced well, such as Thai peppers. Some I find at a better price at 99 Ranch. This is my go to Indian grocery.
google avatar

Katy B.

Yelp
Love this place! I go here for the majority of my cooking needs. They are fast and efficient and always have everything we need.

Lisa V.

Yelp
Great store with excellent prices and selection on Indian food items. We love all of the snack and frozen food options.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best Indian grocery store around San Diego. They have very good collection of vegetables, Frozen food and dairy items. I am not fond of frozen items but this store helps me to find some items that are not available fresh in here. The staff is very friendly and understanding. We bought ladi buns and they were covered with fungus before expiry date, they took it back and refunded us.

Yelp
It all started admist a quest to locate a very specific item: Betel Leaf. After encourntering challenges locaitng it at some Convoy-based grocery stores, I looked to Yelp for help. Miramar Cash & Carry looked promising. I called to confirm they carried this item. The individual who answered the phone was professional and certain. Awesome. Upon arrival, the MASSIVE store and parking lot staood out. We found the item in the produce section with ease and checked out. Due to COVID, we aimed to get in-and-out promptly but this grocyer appears to have a vast assortment of anything you might need in terms of Indian groceries. Definitely noted for future reference.

Yelp
Miramar Cash & Carry has a great selection of ingredients and almost everything I need to cook my family's South Indian traditional recipes. That's why I keep coming back here. They always have fresh curry leaves (usually in decent shape), Janaki's fried snacks (hard to find anywhere else), and delicious Franco's uncooked phukla (roti). They also carry a good selection of organic dals which I haven't seen at other Indian grocers. But damn, why are the employees so unfriendly here? (Not just a COVID complaint -- it was like this even before). Anytime I've asked a question about a product (for example, do you ever carry any other brands of hing?), I'm given a scowl and an unclear response. On my last visit, there was a male worker in the aisle totally crowding my personal space -- forget maintaining a six foot distance, I was lucky to have six inches of breathing room. The cashiers might be the most unhelpful. Upon check out, I was asked if I was a member. I said no but wanted to find out more. It took about five questions to finally get the female cashier to tell me that it's a free rewards program. When I asked to sign up, she then reveals that they aren't accepting new members. Um, couldn't you have led with that? Maybe the lousy interactions are because I'm Indian also, but they should really work on their customer service. That, or I'm going to send my white husband shopping next time and see if they're any nicer to him, LOL.

Yelp
Always a great place to visit and get my ayurvedic powders and some herbs. I wish it will have more ayurvedic things, but I do okay with what they have. Ah, and if you are looking to find good henna powder, come here then! Spend one afternoon, exploring this lovely market!

Yelp
#44 for 2018 This is the biggest Indian store I have been in. Not only that, it is super clean and organized. You will not find any fresh meats here but you will find some wonderful fresh spices at more than reasonable pricrs. Cardamon. Cinnamon. Mace. Nutmeg. Cumin. Coriander. Ajwain. Tumeric. And many others all in the raw form. There was a good selection of fruits and vegetables. Kwality Ice Cream is open. The flavors were unususl to me but will give them a try next time.

Yelp
Well stocked market serving the East Asian community. They also carry a limited selection of British grocery items. Yummo! Like any other grocery or supermarket, carefully check for expiration or "best by" dates, unsealed packages, bugs, etc. Miramar Cash & Carry is located across the street from Miramar NAS. Worth a visit.

Toni O.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I visited the store today, and I love it! It is clean, well, stocked, a large variety of foods, rice, vegetables, and an ambience. That's just wonderful. I love the fresh veggies because they are so fresh, and I snagged a big bag of shallots, my favorite cooking onions at a phenomenal price. They have a beautiful selection of sweets, frozen Indian dishes, the best Naan bread ever and a huge selection of just about everything you need. What a wonderful store the personnel were very kind, the spices were amazing and I snagged a bags of my favorite, including whole Anise! You need to visit this place and explore everything as I did and to sum it up, It's absolutely amazing.

Yelp
Edited update: Thought I'd give an update to recent events. I will say that I've increased my rating from a 1 star to a 3, just because management has reached back to me to explain the drastic price increases. For that, I greatly appreciate it since no one else could clarify, which can be upsetting when you're a consumer. Do I think prices are fair right now? Not really. But what can you do? Other than that, I can't say I'll rate any higher due to other recent circumstances, which, not sure if appropriate to say since it has now raised caution every time we purchase certain goods. Hopefully it is because of the location of the store and surrounding areas. Will gladly let management know of "what" if they have questions about it. Original Review: I come here all the time fo essentials and spices. Right now we're going through a crisis dealing with Covid-19 and they're price gouging like crazy on some items, which is illegal. Normally it's $8.99 to $12.99 depending on tDon't have it in my heart to keep this information to myself. When I asked about it and why it is so expensive now they just said, "oh...I don't know."

Yelp
A great clean and well maintained Indian grocery store, Cash and Carry bringing in things unique to India. They have a large fresh produce aisle, a reasonably large frozen food aisle ( think cut veggies, frozen mini samosas, dhoklas etc) and a lot of teas, spices, snacks and pickles. In short, it helps make being away from home a lot easier. They also bring seasonal items ( like holi color powder, rakhis etc) to cater to Indian festivals and special occasions. The front of the store has a great ice cream section chock full of unusual Indian flavors like saffron, cashew, thandai, paan etc. Do ask for samples if you don't know what those flavors mean but feel adventurous! During weekends, this place is usually packed so if you are new to shopping in Indian stores or just want to browse, I would suggest picking a less busy time. Though most things might seem foreign to non-Indians, please do stop someone by and ask for recommendations. As someone who loves to visit ethnic grocery stores and pick out unusual items I completely know the dazed deer in the headlights look!

Bella B.

Yelp
A lot of the packages goods smelled bad when we opened them at home. The products were not stored at proper temperatures. We bought 7 different snack items (Haldirams khatta meetha and similar ones) and 3 of them smelled bad. The oil had gone off. Terrible. We have frequented many Indian stores and this is the first time we encountered this.

Yelp
Happed to be in the shopping mall and noticed this Indian Grocery Store. I was amazed at the variety of Indian spices and the fresh refrigerated whole yogurts you can get here. I ended up with some really nice Chai, Thai and Indian Mint Teas. Glad I found this store!

Suzanne L.

Yelp
I've shopped here dozens of times. I always find new interesting things. I leave with mango lAssi. I drink that on the way home.
google avatar

Yelp
Massive selection of Indian food, all the staples and more. Many varieties of frozen dishes, spice mixes, fresh spices, and produce. Friendly staff.
google avatar

Sue B.

Yelp
We bought two boxes of mangos for $90, and not a single mango was edible. All of them were rotten! When we called them, they were rude and didn't even listen. Workers and owner of this store are very rude.

Yelp
Ten Reasons to Not Shop at Miramar Cash N Carry: We used to often shop for ethnic groceries at the Miramar Cash n Carry store due to the lack of any other option. But now we order online from New Jersey. Better pricing and quality and no shipping fees. The Miramar Cash n Carry's business practices and services are HORRIBLE. They do not believe in customer service or assistance. Here are some examples: (1) one employee refused to put the mask on her nose. Only on her mouth while stocking. (2) Off-the-boat Indian employees who do not understand the American business ways or customers. (3) Never a service with a smile or thank you at the cash register no matter who is at the register including the owner and the manager. (4) They order you to return the cart for them outside as if you work for the cashier. Never say please either. (5) products are stale because they punch every bag with a very tiny needle (the hole will be invisible) to take the air out so that they could stock more on the shelves. (6) Products sold past the expiration date. (7) No return policy. Only exchange within 6 or 7 days and only if they feel like honoring it. (8) Any suggestions from customers will be met with argument putting the customer in defense. (9) They assume that every customer is dishonest or a thief (except an Anglo customer). They even bend the rules for them on return policy. Also, the cashier or employee will say to an Anglo customer, "Sir, I will take your cart outside". We had one of our friends experiment this scenario. (10) Parking is a nightmare. Overall, the worst business to be a customer at. We suggest you look for online grocery suppliers. You will save money, get better product quality (not stale), and return policy is much better.

Yelp
I just learned about this store last week from a friend - she raved about the inexpensive produce. So I had to check it out for myself. Well, there's a LOT of stuff at this store I would have no clue what to do with. But it's a large, clean, very well organized store and the staff are super friendly. And the best part - the ginger root is amazingly fresh and only $0.59 a pound! I bought a 2 lb. box of *organic* fresh sweet cherries for only $4.49! Definitely worth a stop whenever I'm nearby. A great find!

Yelp
The best place in San Diego to stock up on exotic ingredients is Miramar Cash & Carry. Over the past ten years they have had several growth spurts which have transformed them from a humble Indian market to an international super marketplace. I love exploring the produce department with an eclectic mix of hard to find specialty items. Hot Thai chiles, yellow and white turmeric, various eggplants and assorted greens from all over the world are sold at reasonable prices. When I make a run to Cash & Carry I load up on fresh paneer, coconut products, flat breads, frozen Phyllo products and dal to my hearts content. Secret cooking weapons like this adorn my pantry and make it easy to wow my guests with unusual and delicious flavored dishes. Shelves loaded with a broad and diverse range of curries and pickles can get spicy and pungent have labels that are as hard to read as they are beautiful. You might want to stock up on a few flavors to have a backup if you get something that does not suit your fancy. Unlike many international markets, Cash & Carry is neat and clean. I used to feel intimidated asking for assistance from international staff members, but not at Cash & Carry. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful with everything from locating a specific item to understanding what the heck it is. It is wonderful to watch this market evolve into such a lovely shopping destination.

Yelp
I am impressed with their enforcement of the mask rule during this COVID situation. But it is a bummer that they don't offer home delivery and a better web interface for shopping. While my earlier review factors are still valid, I am glad to bump a star for their handling of customer safety.

Yelp
Price gouging Since March 2020, I observed an extreme price increase in almost every item. And literally, I do not care about the price hike in premium products like cheese or ice cream. But when a price hike in everyday items (for example beans and daal) happens it affects common people. So, I started investigating the reason behind it. First, I asked the reason for it to the cashier at the checkout counter (I do not want yo reveal his name) The response was it is because of COVID. Every distributors have increased their price. (BTW Spiceland is in house brand of Miramar cash and carry still the price is high) Being not satisfied with the response I contacted Deep Bhai. The response was it is not because of COVID, but as the government has increased the minimum wedge they had to increase the price of the items. There is a clear disparity between the response. So, I thought let's check the price at other stores. I visited Pioneer cash and carry in Artesia and one of the Indian grocery stores in the bay area. Just for a reference price at Miramar cash and carry for 10lb beans and daal is $16.99 (Photo attached with timestamp) Price of 10lb beans and daal at Pioneer cash and carry in Artesia is $13.49 (photo attached with timestamp) Price of 10lb beans and daal at Indian grocery store in the bay area varies from $10.99 to $13.00 (Photo attached with timestamp) I request you all to ask a question about price increase to the management, Stay safe and stay healthy.

Fulcrum A.

Yelp
The store has gone downhill from its earlier days. They operate as if they are in a 3rd world country selling unsafe and spoilt food items with impunity. Be specially careful with their refrigerated items, at least 3 times we found mold in their refrigerated items with manager refusing to take any responsibility. I have seen their refrigeration broken few times. High risk of getting food poisoning here.

Yelp
I didn't expect the supermarket to be so big!! They sell an array of fresh oriental produces that you can't find at a common American supermarket. If your looking for fresh spices, seasonal fruits, and herbs, they've got it here!! I was recommended by my niece for the Baby Mangoes. Those babies were so fresh!! On April 29, 2018 the baby mangoes were 4.79 per lb and the regular size mangoes were 2.13 per lb. The prices for Baby Mangoes are expensive but worth it! Everyone gave me the stare when I walked in. Nobody greeting, but the shoppers just kept looking at me as if I just landed from space! When I checked out, the cashier looked at me and asked for payment. No greeting nor Thank You! I'll go back for the fresh produce....Maybe the service will be better next time!

Yelp
Went there tonight to get our groceries and the checker rudely said "can you start bagging your groceries now". We asked him how come you guys are not bagging our groceries anymore, and he said "we don't do that anymore as we are too busy". Well that's why you hire more employees you ______. Also looks like they are too busy to keep their outside of the store clean. This is not India, pick up your trash !!!

Yelp
Great Indian store at a good location. Best around the San Diego area. It's a huge store with large variety of snacks, fresh vegetables, frozen food, groceries, spices and so on. Good prices, comparable to any Indian store. Friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
This store opened and grew right in front of my eyes from a little store to a huge one where I can find anything of my need under one roof. Very clean, tidy and organized. Never had any issue that I'm here and something was out of stock. In fact, there is always something new that I buy too. Rice, flour, lentils, spices, ghee, herbs .. you name it and they have it here. It's convenient location and plenty of parking leave me no choice but come here instead of around the corner store on BM Road.

Yelp
I bought Brar brand Makki ki Atta (corn flour) manufactured Sher Brar mill is, Canada. It was horrible corn flour to make Makki ki Roti (corn tortillas). It was an extreme effort to mix the dough. First of it is very difficult to mix the flour. We followed the tip on the package to mix with hot water. The tip didn't help even a bit. After I mixed the dough, then next challenge is to flatten the small dough part to cook it on a skillet. When I flatten the dough, it was giving lot of cracks along the edges that makes difficult to lift and put on pan to cook. I am writing here because the store policy is ridiculously give less time to return the product which is one week. It costs lot of money and time to drive back only to return the product. I bought Dhanraj Makki ki Atta which easy to make rotis' in less time. I wrote my problem to the company, but they responded that it is passed by health and trade departments of Canada and not concerned about customer's feasibility of use. Below are the pictures of both. I wrote my experience, rest is your choice.

Yelp
This store is my go to for Indian groceries - they have everything (& I mean everything) - staff is helpful and courteous - the store is always clean and spacious - there is enough parking

Yelp
Gringos, I'm not sure how we're supposed to know a store named Cash & Carry is a huge Indian supermarket. Whenever I have takeout or leftover chicken tikka masala sauce from a restaurant, I just wish I had more naan for dipping. What else am I supposed to do with that heavenly sauce? But for whatever reason, all Indian restaurants ration out naan like it's a limited natural resource. Where can I get some? Oh yeah, Cash & Carry. Freezers at the back of the store have all the naan you could possibly dream of. A bag of 15 large naan is only $6.99. Awesome, I'll never have to waste leftover Indian food again. That's the extent of my Indian grocery shopping expertise but I also get cheap produce here. There's an ice cream station at the front of the store with interesting flavors. However, $3/scoop is too much. What others are saying about the parking lot is true. Drivers are horrible. They go the wrong way in parking aisles. The giant one way arrows painted on the ground go totally unnoticed.

Yelp
1 minus point because some products were stale... Like the chips. Took a drive up to Miramar just to go to some Indian market, this place has many many spices, which I thought was great because curry is one of many Indian foods. This place has great selection and the outside of the store isn't clean. But this supermarket has stale potato chips but that's not really a big deal cause they imported it, it was terribly stale. Great selection of produce, rice, spices, foreign Indian food and more.

Randy S.

Yelp
In response to the review that referred to Miramar Cash & Carry as a scam because they try to get you to spend a minimum of $5.00 for a credit card transaction. First I've never encountered this and second the reviewer should not what they are talking about. Specifically: According to a 2010 ruling under the Dodd-Frank law , a business is allowed to set a credit card minimum of up to $10, as long as that same standard applies to all the credit cards accepted by that merchant. Merchant's pay fees for credit card purchases. From what I know, only the customer benefits from using a credit card due to convenience, rewards, etc., while merchants has to pay for the service. I hate it when someone feels that everyone owes them and they are only taker.

Yelp
Insanely huge for an Indian grocery store, with almost everything you might crave for being an Indian away from India . Few highlights:- 1. Fresh produce is of good quality with a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits. 2. Prices are very competitive and most of the times better and cheaper that other grocery stores. 3. Every section is very organized 4. Good collections of Indian beers which are rare to find in Indian restaurant in San Diego . 5. One full section is devoted to Indian herbs, herbal products and toiletries. 6. In the front they have a section for bakery good, their Black Forest cake is yummy and on weekends they have fresh sugar cane juice, which I have never ever seen in Indian grocery store. 7. Staff is nice and helpful , they have almost 6-7 checkout lanes which can be really convenient on weekends, coz it's super busy on weekends. A complete grocery stop over. Keep it up, but I wish they had the sugarcane juice almost every day

Yelp
Very good range of Indian grocery rice, pulses, ready to eat, frozen and not to forget Pan. Very competitive pricing, fully stocked and organized Aisles. Some or other offer always on food products. So much well maintained, quick and very helpful staff. Have been to lot of grocery stores, would say this is the most clean store I have seen so far. Those who mind the crowd, Come on-it's not a park. The best part of summer is Indian Mangoes.
