NYC New Restaurant Openings, September 2025 | Eater NY

"Brooklyn’s beloved Middle Eastern brunch spot plants a Manhattan sibling for Turkish eggs by day and dinnertime highlights like family-style lamb shawarma, terracotta, and spanakopita, with a late bar program pouring cocktails such as the date-garnished arak-and-fig Paradise Lost until 1 a.m." - Nadia Chaudhury

One of the best israeki style restaurants. They serve an amazing schnitzel, crispy, tender delicious and Huge. Make sure you're hungry if you're ordering this dish. The burekas treat is also popular and served with 2 boiled eggs tehini, red sauce and olives/pickles side. The desert cheesecake is European style. Perfectly cooked melts in your mouth. The Canolli is actually a midlife eastern style

Okay wait a minute… WHAT to say about MIRIAM!? This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food is out of this world. We ordered the chicken schnitzel and it was fabulous but the real star was the beet ketchup that paired with it so beautifully. Honestly, one of the best sauces I’ve ever tasted… wow! All the little touches are so appreciated, like the water infused with fresh mint. All the other dishes looked amazing and vibrant as well. The cocktail was incredible too. I had an amaretto sour with a touch of bourbon and I loved it. Miriam is definitely going to be a go-to spot for anyone visiting Greenwich Village. The ambiance is cozy, warm, and absolutely beautiful. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable and could easily stay for hours. The staff was also really friendly and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. Thanks again Highly recommend! 🎄🎄🎄

I absolutely love the Latkes Benedict at Miriam — it’s easily one of the best brunch dishes I’ve had anywhere. The poached eggs are always cooked perfectly, the smoked salmon is rich and silky, and the harissa-hollandaise brings everything together without being spicy. It adds flavor and depth, not heat, which makes the whole dish incredibly balanced and satisfying. It’s the kind of brunch plate you think about long after you leave. The service at Miriam is consistently wonderful. The team is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about creating a great experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is beautiful — each room has its own atmosphere, giving you different vibes depending on where you sit. Whether you want something cozy, lively, or somewhere in between, Miriam has the perfect setting. Overall, Miriam continues to impress every single time. Amazing food, incredible staff, and a stunning space. Highly recommend!

I’ve dined at Miriam in the West Village twice recently, and each visit has been exceptional. The atmosphere is intimate, the service is warm and attentive, and the entire experience feels genuinely welcoming. But the true heart of this restaurant is the food — and behind it, Chef Sara, who deserves special praise. For appetizers, I had the Tzatziki and the Hummus, and the hummus, in particular, was the best I’ve ever tasted. For my mains, I ordered the Branzino on my first visit and the Royal Tagine on the second. Both dishes were exquisite — beautifully balanced, full of flavor, and prepared with an unmistakable personal touch. What really sets Miriam apart is Chef Sara’s culinary talent and creativity. Her dishes are not only delicious but crafted with a level of care, precision, and personality that you can feel in every bite. She is truly the soul and star of the restaurant, and her cooking elevates the entire dining experience to something memorable. Miriam is an absolute must-try in the West Village, and I’ll definitely be returning on my next trip to NYC.

Excellent new spot! Food came quick and was delicious. We had the Turkish Eggs, Schnitzel and Kebabs, plus a margarita at the bar. The place is super inviting, helpful staff and amazing food. I'm just happy we were able to get a table! We had brunch, but we're gonna come back for dinner to try that menu too.

Such a cozy spot to dip into during a cold day. Our server was so knowledgeable about the menu and wines especially. The menu focused on a lot of shareables, which was great for trying several things. We had the risotto, cherry tomato salad, and eggplant. The eggplant was by far my favorite, but the risotto was so warming and great as well. Will definitely be back!

I went here for lunch on my birthday. The ambience was nicely decorated. The food was good. And I had exceptional service by Jim. He made my day special by bringing out a delicious desert. I would come back to visit for dinner next time.

Yelp
I'm a fan of Miriam's other locations, and the new West Village spot does not disappoint. It feels chic and cozy at the same time, and the tables are spread out in a way that makes it great for conversation. The hosts and servers are delightful, and very knowledgeable about the drinks, wines, and food. The food is amazing. We had the branzino, salmon, and the tagine for entrees. All delicious. And don't skip dessert. I'm not usually a fan of Mediterranean desserts (or even dessert in general), but these are fantastic.

Yelp
My delivery order from Uber Eats was quite a disappointment tonight. I had heard raves about the Upper West Side location, and I maybe should have placed the order from there. I only ordered two items: the eggplant with feta, halloumi, and mozzarella. It was very good, even if a little salty; I can't complain. Unfortunately, I also wanted to try their falafel, but it for some bizarre reason is served with quinoa-based tabouli. I am, like many people, violently allergic to quinoa and completely unable to digest it, so I simply asked that they not include the tabouli; they instead left everything out, so no tahini or amba. Which was not very nice; were they punishing me for some reason? I will say that everything arrived hot. I will soon give the Upper West Side location a try; it is far away, so it may not arrive hot, but that is life.

Yelp
Miriam just opened another location in the West Village area, and they're offering their usual Mediterranean eats. We came here to check them out for dinner, starting off with: +the Falafels - served with quinoa tabbouleh, tahini, and amba +Fritto Misto - shrimp with seasonal veggies and shug aioli +the Spanakopita - with Swiss chard, cherry tomato confit, and harissa For our mains, we tried: +the Chicken Schnitzel - served with mashed potatoes, cured lemon sauce, beet ketchup, and a side of chopped salad +the Steak Levant - tri-tip skewer, served with crispy fried onions, potato fries, salsa verde, and a spicy tomato salad +and, the Lala Tagine - with pumpkin, root veggies, turmeric, and cinnamon; a great vegetarian option We couldn't pass up on the dessert, so we shared the Braised Peach and the Rose Babka; both were nice ending to our meals. Service was friendly, and the seating was comfortable; they also take online reservations through a platform, so it's super easy to make for a date night or a small get-together. +shareables +tasty desserts +friendly service +online reservations accepted

Yelp
Really lovely and cute! The space is much larger than expected and the food, while pricey for what it is, is yummy! Drinks were so goood and the service was fantastic. We got the tomatillo shakshuka and a halloumi dish.

Yelp
First time to this area of NYC for a family and friends dinner for eight people. We all enjoyed the food and service. Some of the dishes were so different than what we have had at at other restaurants like not spicy muhamara and the puff pastry top lamb entree. I would recommend Miriam.

Yelp
Blown away!! Ambiance 10/10. Not too loud but still super lively, tables not too close to each other (my nyc pet peeves). Cute decor! Great for both date night and girls brunch. We had the lime labneh tzatziki, the bureka breakfast, Jerusalem breakfast, and a mint lemonade. All amazing! Hard to pick favorite between bureka and tzatziki. Will for sure be back!

Yelp
Not sure why any review would be below 5 stars. So lovely and great energy. Food and drinks are great! Thank you as well for not being a west village restaurant with another $20+ cocktail.

Yelp
Mediterranean food made by whom? This seems a little odd. It wasn't nasty, but it was way over-priced.
