Mirro’s Cafe

When you enter you seat yourself with a menu and when you are ready to order you go up to the counter. Food when ready is brought out to you. Ordered shrimp basket and oyster basket. Plenty of lightly battered, tender, tasty shrimp served over crispy fries. Oysters are lightly breaded and super tender served over fries. Exchanged cocktail sauce for tartar sauce. Variety of soft drinks and beer available. Only complaint would be a bit expensive for quantity of seafood received. There is a porch for outdoor dining and noticed there was a lot of take-out orders being picked up. Took dessert for two to go. Banana cream pie

Cute little diner with great, flavorful food. My kids each got chicken tenders and liked them. My husband got the seafood tacos and enjoyed them. I got the mahi mahi sandwich and loved it. Fries had great seasoning too. Definitely worth a stop! We're planning to make our way back one more time to try their breakfast!

My boyfriend and I stopped here for lunch as we arrived for our week in the Outer Banks. It's a quaint little café with rustic beach vibes and good food.

Good place to get a quick breakfast bite. The way it works around there is that you take a seat and a menu and order up at the counter when you’ve decided what you’re going to have. Then they bring it out to you and pretty much let you dine in on your own. Sort of like a cafeteria vibe. They do have delicious coffee there!!! But of course no refills - so you would need to buy another if you’re like me and need about 3 cups to function 😌 Overall , food was tasty and their hashbrowns were pretty seasoned, loved their breakfast wrap, the avocado was fresh, and their pancakes were yummy too! Would recommend if you’re in town :)

Great little beach burger shack with really good fish, wraps etc. priced well. Ginormous serving sizes. Had the California Wrap that had a nice little twist with a sweet and spicy sauce. The turkey was real thick, not like grocery store lunch meat. Fries were bomb. Probably eat here all week until my family makes me go somewhere else.

Everything was delicious, and everybody loved the food. I had the "legendary" fish tacos and they were indeed worthy of the name. Two of the kids had the shrimp dinner (grilled) and they really liked it. 10/10 would highly recommend.

This place looks so unassuming from outside and inside is just a casual surf shack serving food. You order at the counter when you know what you want and seat yourself. They have a decent sized dining room inside and a nice porch outdoors where they allow dogs. We ordered the jalapeno poppers to start. They were nicely fried and crispy with cream cheese filling. They came with a sweet chili sauce for dipping (which isn't my favorite combination) but we're good enough on their own. For my dinner I ordered the shrimp Po boy. The roll was crusty on the outside, but soft on the inside. The lettuce was fresh and crisp, the shrimp were perfection. They were fried to a golden brown and cooked just right. The bistro sauce was similar to a thousand Island, and it was just the right amount of sauce to shrimp. If I lived here, I would eat this sandwich on the regular. I paid an up charge for fries instead of the chips and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. My husband ordered the chicken wrap with chips and really enjoyed his meal as well. Definitely a great spot with some really good food.

Mirro's is easily accessible from 12, with plenty of good parking out front. They are a fairly casual place. Go in, grab menus up front. Seat yourself. Go to the counter when you're ready. It's a basic beach sandwich type spot. I ordered an oyster basket with fries. It's a huge pile of fries with a few small bits of fried oyster in it. The very small portion of oysters was a disappointment. Overall, the food was okay.

This is an easy and pretty tasty lunch spot. There's a ton of seating both inside and outside. You look at the paper menus and then place your order, and they bring it out. I ordered the oyster po boy which had a decent amount of oysters and a nice remoulade sauce. I liked the bread as well, but could have had less lettuce and more toppings like tomatoes. It was reasonably tasty and and a good portion.

When we walked in, the service was good. We thought it was a sit down restaurant that a server comes by and takes your order but you order at the counter which is fine. It's like a cafe! The food was pretty good especially the fries!! The building is very tight and loud but we also went at a busy time. Recommend this place

We took a week trip to OBX, and we've been here 4 times. Every single time has been wonderful, their burgers, fries, coffee's, breakfast sandwiches, and so on have been amazing. The service is shockingly quick for how good the food is. The environment is nice and welcoming as well; you're greeted to sit anywhere. Only slightly negative thing is the higher pricing, but honestly the food is worth it. Their patio is nice as well and is shaded. Absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting OBX!

We ate every last bite of our oyster po boy, shrimp and fries, and side of Mac n cheese. Everything was delicious, even down to the cocktail sauce. Yum!

I like the place, it has big portions. I had blacked fish tacos and it was very filling. I took 8 people for dinner and it cost me about $140, with tip. Most of us drank water. My son's buddy got the shrimp plate, it was huge.

This is a cute cafe that recently opened in the Waves area. We were going to go to Sheila's but I think it closed down? Or we couldn't find it? Either way we wound up here and weren't disappointed at all. We tried the biscuits & gravy, pancakes, French toast, hash browns & sausage. Everything was delicious & ready very quickly. The ambiance of the place was nice, too. All of the food we ordered was quite cheap, especially for the area, & we were really impressed! We'll be back for breakfast next year. Seat yourself, order at the front, and then they bring you your food.

We had Mirro's twice in the week we visited Rodanthe. The staff was super friendly, and attentive. The first time was for breakfast, which my husband got as takeout. We ordered the sausage gravy & biscuits, as well as a breakfast sandwich. The sausage gravy was, well, awful. It had almost no flavor, barely any sausage and was an odd color. It wasn't made with much love, sadly. The breakfast sandwich was fine. Nothing to write home about, but the biscuit was good. The second time we gave it a shot was for a late lunch, and we shared the shrimp & fries basket, with a side of coleslaw. The shrimp and fries were good, fresh and crispy. The coleslaw was fine. I think the most memorable thing we had was the lemonade. All in all, we likely wouldn't go back. The food just wasn't flavorful or stand out enough to make me feel like I need to have it again.

we were so sad when atlantic coast cafe closed at this location, as we looked forward to eating there each year. FORTUNATELY mirros has continued that same tradition of quality, affordable, delicious food which is served up quickly! dare i say they are even a little better than atlantic coast cafe was. the cafe is also super clean with ample seating and a lovely outdoor deck. don't miss it if you're in the area!

Excellent food and wonderful service. Wife had the mahi and I had the shrimp wrap. Both were prepared perfectly.

Super fast and good food. Great coffee too. I just came for togo breakfast but it was and really good. Home fried potatoes were really good, I hate when they are mushy and half cooked. These are great!

Outstanding. A true Rodanthe gem. The mahi fish basket is a great staple and the burgers are huge. I've been to Rodanthe many times and I believe this may be the best joint here.

Cute little restaurant we went to for breakfast . Super friendly staff. The food came out quickly and was on point. I'm picky on my bacon but it was perfection. Eggs, and hash browns good too. Would definitely recommend and will come back!

Staying at KOA across the street and ordered take out. The food was sooooooo good. The service was quick and pleasant. The prices were reasonable. We ordered the tuna wrap, shrimp basket, the fish tacos, and the burger. Everything was highly above average. So great to have this as an option while we are here. You can tell they are trying to establish themselves here. Solid.

Mirro's Makes Good Food Our family arrived a bit early for our Saturday beach rental check-in, so we decided to visit Mirro's for a bite to eat for lunch. The sign says it is a new place for 2023. The cafe was busy, with all seats and tables full inside. Thus, we took our place at one of the outside tables on the side porch. We picked up a menu and then placed our order at the counter. We had two shrimp Po-boy sandwich baskets and a fish-n-fries basket. The Po-boys and the fish tasted very good. However, for the price ($20 for each sandwich), the Po-Boys could have had a few more shrimp and the fish basket should have included two pieces of fried fish. That said, the food was all fresh, cooked very well, and served piping hot. The counter staff and attendants were all very friendly and helpful. They cleared tables quickly and we were able to move to an inside, air-conditioned table soon. In summary, the food was good, but the price was a bit steep for the amount of food received. It does have a good beach feeling atmosphere.

Sorry to say I will not be back to this restaurant. Ordered a hamburger and fries. About 45 minutes later found out they had lost our order. Unacceptable.

We got to our rental house late & needed a quick dinner. We decided to try Mirro's since it was close. You will not leave hungry, I promise you. We got our order to go & everything was correct & very yummy. The double burgers are no joke, they're huge. Service was very friendly and our order was ready on time. Give them a try!

We only went for breakfast, good verity. It's walk up order they bring it to you. Service was quick and original. On the sound side of OBX

Food is not fresh, it obviously was heated up again and served. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money here. However, it was something to eat.

Wasn't good. Got the Sunrise Wrap (like a breakfast burrito) and it didn't come as described. (No hash browns in it.) I didn't tell them or complain , so didn't give them a chance to fix it. The flavor overall had a greasy diner flavor, wasn't my thing. $16.90 (included tip and tax) for a yucky burrito I ate half of and threw the other half out. ‍

My wife and I stopped in here in 2005 when it was called the Atlantic Coast Cafe and loved it. The breakfast sands and wraps were excellent. We popped back in several times over the years during our Hatteras vacations and the food and service were still always great. I was sorry to hear the ACC owners called it it quits in 2023 as it was our first time back to Hatteras Island in several years. We thought we would try the new Mirro's place out and....were very disappointed. The staff were okay, not bad but also not at all welcoming. For the most part they just seemed bored and going through the motions until their shift was done. The place itself is the same, small but well laid out with a nice beach vibe going on. The food though was really abysmal, on the level of a lonely interstate diner at 2 in the morning. I ordered a basket of fried oysters. (How many do you get? 8 to 12. It depends.) They were very small, completely tasteless balls of fried burnt batter. My wife had a reuben that was also a greasy mess with strange tasting corned beef. I'm not impressed with the owner's responses to criticism and other poor reviews on Yelp and Google. Instead of trying to improve his business he would rather reply with snarky and rude comments. Poor attitude, worse food. Sad to see this Rodanthe landmark fall so low.

Very good. I had the mahi and it was fresh. Tasted like they just caught it! Nothing fancy, friendly people. Average pricing, not fast food but about the same price for better food!

Best Damn Blackened Shrimp tacos and Fires Mahi BLT on NC-12. Defiantly stop here and try this place. Great food and friendly staff. I'll be back!!!!

AMAZING pancakes honestly don't think i have had better the silver dollar pancakes were very large and i got those so i'm not too sure how big the regular pancakes were Tea was super good, but lemonade was kinda funky tasting but was still good. Service was also amazing waiters/servers were super nice to us and they cleaned a table as soon as it opened up because the original group left for us because we were a group of 6 but had 2 not there yet. Ambiance was super cozy and obviously ocean themed and I LOOVVVVE the ocean so that was really nice. This nice cafe had wifi and some really cool merch that i wish i could've bought but some refills were $1.99 so decided not to get refills for some of the drinks.

The fried oysters were delicious- perfectly cooked & huge! Generous serving of Sweet potato fries were awesome. Other dishes coming out to customers makes us want to back again & again.

Staff was friendly. They quickly cleaned off a table for 6 as soon as that group left so we could fit everyone at the same table. It is a seat yourself place and then you order at the counter. They brought our food to us, but I think some may just be called up to the counter to get it. The selection of food is decent. The prices were a bit steep, but I'm owing that to location as it's at the beach, in an area that doesn't have much, and is across from a KOA. I ordered the French Toast (6 half pieces) for $8.99, side of sausage (2 patties) $2.49, French Toast sticks (6 sticks) I believe $6.99, chocolate chip silver dollar pancakes (2 pancakes, but they're about the size of regular pancakes you might make at home) I think these were $6.99 or $7.99, sweet tea, and lemonade. I don't remember about the tea, but the lemonade is $2.99 and if you want a refill it's $1.99. Food came out fast and was good. Typical breakfast food. The place itself was clean, a bit cramped inside. My only issue was the ac vent located in the ceiling above our table was dripping from condensation right on the table where I sat. I just moved to the outside end. Not much you can do about that. I may visit the restaurant again someday, but it's not a must. I would definitely recommend it, though.

This was some of the best food we've had on the island! We've been traveling to hatteras for over 15 years & we will definitely be coming back to this stop. Service was incredibly quick (there were only a few of us inside) but I would have waited for this! The grilled shrimp legendary sea food tacos were some of the best seafood tacos I've had! It was light & fresh & the whole dish was great. The grilled chicken sandwich was pretty messy but it was worth it anyways! They've got a great selection of options for the small size of the restaurant! I'm excited to try their other options in the future!

Ordered take out and it was delicious. I enjoyed the blackened mahi wrap with chips and hubby had the nitro burger ( and it was definitely hot!) with chips. All was delicious and fresh. Friendly and quick service. Will definitely be returning while in OBX. A+

This place is okay. Cute beach vibe. Seemed weird that you have to bus your own table but that's not really a big deal... the shrimp tacos were pretty good! My husband got a burger and it looked good too.

We had intended to eat out for dinner our last night camping across the way at the KoA but the weather took a turn so we ordered carry out from this (newish?) place. We were glad we did. All of us enjoyed our meals and despite our efforts we had fries to spare.

Food was excellent. I had the burger and it was really good. Hand pattied and the bun was really fresh and soft. My wife had the tacos and they were really good. Service was excellent.

worst fish and chips I've ever had. I went to the counter to tell the cashier that I couldn't eat it because it was so dry and she actually charged me $10 for a GrillEd Cheese sandwich! Granted, I did tell her that my grandson was going to eat my lunch, but really!??! The only reason for 2 stars was because he liked it.

I ordered scrambled egg, hash, brown, and English muffin. The eggs were not scrambled, they were just a flat pancake. The hashbrowns were burnt and the English muffin was barely tested. I will not be coming back here.

I order a grill cheese with fries 22.00 are you kidding me. Literally ever person in my party that ordered after me got there food and I never received mine. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant worst service ever!

Wow! Really great food at the perfect spot in Waves. I got the fish tacos which were fantastic! So good that we went for breakfast the next morning. I had the breakfast burrito and husband got an omelette. Super service with a smile and cool beachy atmosphere. Also dog friendly seating on the deck. Will definitely go back to this great spot!

Great food!! Cute little shop and kind staff. They were very nice. I had the nitro wrap and it was delicious. Tons of jalapeños though so it is pretty spicy. But we loved it!! My husband recommends the shrimp P.O. boy.

Fish Tacos are so yummy we had them for lunch two days in a row. Definitely best food on the beach.
