This Cafe was about a 7 min walk from our motel, and it is so beautiful and calm on a Sunday morning. The menu is extensive and doesn't even list everything in the bakery cases. I had the House toast (it listed different ingredients than what were used but I assume it may be what's seasonal/available, though that isn't really stated clearly), the spinach mushroom and cheese croissant, a cinnamon toast crunch latte (hot) and a new banana milk latte (iced). The House Toast was amazing! Whoever put these ingredients together was a genius. Mine did not have the peaches, which I was excited to try so that was a little disappointing, but when I tried it that thought disappeared. It has blueberries, raspberries and possibly blackberries, spinach, cherry tomatoes and balsamic glaze on top of a cheese (I can't tell if it was the listed cheese or not). I am so insanely impressed by this and will be attempting to recreate this at home. The spinach mushroom and cheese croissant I had warmed, and it was fluffy, buttery, crispy, all of the good croissant adjectives. It could have done with maybe a small bit of salt but every other aspect was delicious. My cinnamon toast crunch latte was great, exactly what I expected, until the last sip was all sugar syrup. The banana milk latte I was intrigued by, and had to give it a taste. I did bot pay attention to the fact that it wasn't mixed and my first sip was ALL ESPRESSO. This is my fault and after mixing, it was thick, creamy and pretty good, even not being much of a fan of banana. I wish I had mixed it first though because that first sip kind of ruined it for me. Altogether the meal was amazing, delicious and the Cafe was beautiful with art all on the walls and lovely thriving plants everywhere. The cost was more than I expected but it's Chicago, you've got to expect to pay more in this city. Thank you to the chef and baristas who put together this scrumptious meal!

I went to this cute cafe this morning for breakfast with my family. It was amazing and delicious! The staff were very kind and it was quick service. Lots of variety of seating too, with couches and chairs! There is lots of room in the restaurant actually, it’s quite cozy and quiet too. I got a chocolate croissant and a strawberry smoothie and they were delicious! The croissant had a light soft crisp, it was buttery and had a perfect balance of chocolate. The smoothie was cold, fruity and delicious! My mom got the maple long John and the lavender soda. She told me the lavender soda tasted like she was drinking straight out of a pure lavender flower. She also told me the donut was yummy and had a hint of mint. My dad got the vegan sausage bagel and he really enjoyed it. He said the vegan egg, cheese, and sausage were actually really good. The pricing wasn’t bad either!

This is the jewel of the Ravenswood area! The best kept secret in the area the coffee is top tier. And the pastries, made in house, are so wonderful plus you can get lunch soup, salads and sandwiches! The prices are incredibly reasonable! A must to put on your list of local shops to try, today! Open 6am to 4 weekdays and 6 to 2 on Sunday. Service is outstanding quick and friendly! Best lavender latte with plenty of foam!

Google
Solid cafe and bakery with a good variety of pastries, sandwiches, and drinks; serving collectivo coffee. There is a drive through and some limited parking. Staff were friendly and service was pretty quick. The pastries and sandwich we got were solid, worth going to if you're a regular commuter on the near by metra line.

Great experience having a cozy lunch at this cafe! Friendly staff and tasty food. Found out when we got there that there is a drive thru- but there was enough indoor seating for us to dine in.

So glad to have stumbled upon this hidden gem while exploring the neighborhood. These folks genuinely make some of the best espresso drinks in town (I highly recommend the midnight vanilla latte). I've tried several of their baked goods too (Irish soda bread, banana loaf, cookies) and been impressed each time. So appreciate the friendly service the staff gives to me and everyone who comes through the door. 10/10 experience and treats!

Google
Such a lovely hidden place. A friend has always shared pastries from here that she got from a friend. I had no clue where it was. After my haircut i was shocked when I passed it. I quickly made a U turn and came to enjoy it. Very countries customer service worker. Pleasant barista. The carrot cake was gooe but had to wait for it to thaw. The latte was great. Clean place.

They were out of the corned beef sandwich, but I was pleasantly surprised by a well crafted menu and delectable offerings at a reasonable price. It's not just a donut and coffee place, but somewhere to really enjoy. There's even a lounge type area. Very clean and well staffed. There's a big parking area, but I'll opt for the bike rack anyway. It's a perfect quick stop between here and there.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Misericordia during a neighborhood run and it looked so inviting that we had to stop in. They have an adorable outdoor seating area (not a ton, but enough), so we planned to get some items to go and sit outside. With great early morning hours right next to the new Peterson Metra Stop, this is a perfect spot for early morning commuters, and for folks traveling throughout the day! Or just folks wandering around the neighborhood, like us! I got the quiche of the day, which was bacon leek that day. It was fluffy, cheesy, and full of flavor. And the perfect size! My husband got the chocolate croissant and he loved how crisp, soft, and buttery it was. And the chocolate inside was the perfect quota! Since it was a hot day, we both got cold brew and it was delicious. Great for a warm day! The servers welcomed us in with kindness and a cheery smile. They answered our questions and helped our first time to be a great experience. The building is clean, welcoming, and spacious! I was in such a hustle to get outside since I was sweaty from the run that I forgot to take a picture! Next time! All this to say, we cannot wait to go back. There were so many baked goods that we had a hard time deciding. So we need to go back and try more! Also, they have bigger breakfast and lunch items, so that would be fun to try! A great coffee shop with great food and an important mission...what more could you want!

Yelp
I have been watching this place since they broke ground, looking forward to visiting when they were done. How has it been years now and I've only just now gone? I kicked myself more for not having visiting sooner because it's a great addition. They have a standard coffee menu plus some seasonal additions. I didn't realize they had this large a menu; they sell a variety of lunch items like sandwiches and stuff. I picked up a couple hot drinks, both good. The chai was not the most flavorful but it's better than "fancier" independent shops I've been to. I also picked up a couple of maple long johns, which is something I honestly don't think I've seen around here. Maple bars (as they're known in Oregon) are fairly easy to find; you can go to a grocery and find one (though not the best, but I digress). Here I've only seen vanilla long johns and or a bar with bacon and maple which is not good. It was a pleasant surprise to see these and couldn't pass it up, which is good because they were really quite good. They have a parking lot AND A DRIVE THROUGH. It's so annoying to me that the only coffee places that have a drive through are Starbucks and McDonald's with the exception of a coffee place in West Ridge, and Misericordia (I'm not going to drag my kid out of the car just to pick up a chai). The service was good and very friendly. When the Peterson Metra stop is completed this place will be perfectly positioned, and I'll be returning too.

Yelp
A nice neighborhood cafe. Friendly service. Ordered pesto sandwich on multi grain bread. Would have been better on a baguette , sandwich was very soggy from the sauce and chicken was very tough to eat. Was likely an off day. Still a great spot to check out for a low key brunch.

Yelp
I visited here for the first time today, and it was a lovely place to stop! The space was large, well lit, and well maintained. The staff was super friendly. There were so many delicious baked goods to choose from! I decided on the double chocolate donut, and it did not disappoint. I can't wait to return here for another treat!

Yelp
This place is amazing. Really underrated. They make their own baked goods, since it's part of the mission with their residents. The drinks are outstanding as well. Everything is really high-quality. This place needs to be higher on the radar for more people.

Yelp
Lots of options on their menu. The staff is great really sweet and they make everything on point!! Sitting area is very clean and cozy. I love their Rose cardamom latte and the spicy mocha. Drive thru option is a plus too. This place is definitely my top fave!

Yelp
Great experience and lovely environment. Employees are super friendly and welcoming. I love that there is a parking lot here. The bakery itself is quite large and spacious and they have so many options all at reasonable prices. I got the mushroom/spinach croissant and it was buttery and flaky. Will be back!

Yelp
This is just what the neighborhood needed - a great opportunity to support a local business (as opposed to the Starbucks). Inside has great seating for visiting as well as smaller tables perfect for someone cranking out work on a laptop. Food options range from pastries to sandwich - even with vegan options! Staff was very helpful and friendly! For those of you on your morning commute - there is a drive thru as well.

Yelp
We loved everything about this cafe! It has an easy to access drive thru and parking lot, and is fairly large inside with a good amount of seating. They have such a large amount of offerings for breakfast and lunch which was very unexpected. All the pastries looked phenomenal and they even have gluten free options! We went with the gluten free florentine bar which was delicious. For brunch we had a cold brew, caprese sandwich, and vegan sausage sandwich. All were delicious, very large and hearty! Everything came out to about 28 dollars so it's extremely reasonably priced for the quality of food. We can't wait to come back and try more of the menu!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of stopping into this coffee and breakfast establishment on my visit to Chicago. It is right around the corner from my mom's old apartment in Chicago. Fun fact, my mom couldn't wait to take me here because she said, " they have really good breakfast." She was right, they do. And the coffee here is also decent. So they just opened a few months ago and I do t think the word has really gotten out yet, but when it does, this place will be packed. It has a lot of things going for it. Decent coffee, healthy food choices, great breakfast, baked goods, and it even has a drive thru. On my visit here we ate in. Ordered the caprase sandwich and avocado toast. Both were really good. They put an extra char on the avocado toast which gave it a smoky flavor. The baguette for the sandwich was super fresh and crispy. I order a Cafe Ola which was decent. All in all a pretty nice breakfast.

Yelp
Misericordia is an organization providing a community for persons with disabilities, and one I have supported for years. I have wanted to stop in to try their bakery and cafe for sometime , and we had the opportunity on a Sunday afternoon. I was not sure what to expect, but was surprised there were so many options and the quality of the items. We tried a lavender latte , Irish Bread Scone, and Cinnamon Roll. All of the items were very good and reasonably priced. It was nice to see how supported the cafe was. Almost every table was occupied and there was not a time when there was not a customer coming in. There is merchandise and artwork on display to purchase , and was created by the residents. A feel good experience.

Yelp
Eat the best quality bakery goodies in town while supporting an amazing nonprofit that cares for people with disabilities.

Yelp
I absolutely love this cafe. Everything I've had from here is so delicious and so fresh. The staff is very friendly and I love seeing some of the residents there. Hard to tell which two items are my favorites, but I have to say, the ham & cheese croissant and the almond croissant are both outstanding. I get cravings for them. If you haven't checked them out yet, you're truly missing something spectacular and delicious.

Yelp
Great bakery items and amazing staff! This is a great business to support, they do awesome work with the residents living there and the price of the bakery items is worth every penny you pay for them!

Yelp
Excellent coffee, excellent customer service, I've only tried the donuts so far but look forward to trying other items from their breakfast/lunch menu. I love that it has a parking lot and a drive thru! Also lots of comfortable seating inside.

Abigail C.

Yelp
I adore this place! Besides being for a great cause, it's conveniently placed with a drive thru, has unique and delicious beverage options, I've liked all the food I've had (at a very reasonable price!), and customer service is great. 10/10, or should I say 5/5.

Yelp
I have been going here for several years now. It is such a pleasant and lovely coffee shop. It has great vibes, peaceful, welcoming, lots of great seating, internet and board games. The food is so good from the sweets to the sandwiches, plus there is something for everyone (vegan, gluten free). My kids love coming here for a weekend treat, I love coming here to get work done. It's also a great place to sit down with a friend and relax and have a great conversation. We especially love the coconut donut, the vegan morning glory muffin (so moist and sweet) and oatmeal raisin cookies in the little bags. They have these awesome windows into the actual bakery area and its fun to see where the magic is made. Also, the staff are without exception, friendly, helpful, funny, kind. Oh and the playlist is always awesome. What's not to love about this place?

Yelp
What a cute place!! Very roomy. The artwork in the cafe is all created by the adults of Misericordia and simply beautiful. The service was kind and attentive. We purchased donuts and scones. Amazing!! They were equally as delicious on day 2! We will enjoy visiting again very soon.

Aydin D.

Yelp
I've been there twice and had their caprese sandwich and deserts, both excellent. Their desserts top notch. The art on the walls are real good and so is the staff.

Anna N.

Yelp
This review is actually for the bakery at Misericordia. I picked up a tray of pastries for a celebratory event, and was absolutely wowed by the quality of the baked goods. The decorations were detailed and lovely and all of the items on the tray were delicious. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to order an assortment of a mini pastries for an event.

Yelp
The fresh best English muffin breakfast sandwich anywhere. Beautiful bright and sunny dinning room. Absolutely wonderful people working here. It's a little bit off the beaten track but well worth the few extra steps.

Flor M.

Yelp
The place is extremely clean and well-organized. The attention is kind and professional. And... the pain-au-chocolate is outstanding: the bread is soft, the bread crust for this delicatessen was crispy, the chocolate was perfectly well distributed. One of the best pain-au-chocolate that ever tried. Blueberry Muffins and carrot muffins are excellent too. Not too sweet, not too plain.

Yelp
Misericordia is a great organization and they did a fabulous job with the cafe. The breakfast sandwiches are tasty as is the coffee. Prices are fair.

Yelp
Awesome zucchini bread. great chix wrap! The baristas are awesome and very diverse! This place will blow up!

Yelp
My favorite spot to stop for some coffee and get some work done! It's usually pretty calm and quiet. They are always changing their seasonal drink options so there's always something new and yummy to try! Sandwiches, wraps and baked goods are always fresh and delicious. Reasonable prices and for a cause I can get behind :)

Yelp
This is a little hidden gem. I love coming here. Clean, kind, reasonably priced. There's a drive thru and also lovely areas inside and out to eat, relax, etc. I will be coming here A LOT. Great addition to the neighborhood!
