Miski Custom Cakes & Bakery

On my quest to find the best cinnamon rolls in Chicago I went to Miski Bakery on Addison. I had planned on a different spot to try, but then I saw a Miski Bakery post on Instagram with their fresh cinnamon rolls and I couldn't resist!! I stopped in to get two cinnamon rolls one to re-heat in the oven and one to try as is. I was delighted to find the non re-heated cinnamon roll was perfect, such a beautiful blend of cinnamon, and glaze, just gooey enough to be the perfect texture, yet fluffy to not be overpowering. Their Blueberry muffins also caught my eye, and they were fantastic. I really appreciated their perfect amount of blueberries, an amount that would make Robert Deniro happy in Casino. I can't wait to go back for their breakfast poptart varieties, and more than likely a cupcake or two!!

Im a little late on this review. I contacted Carmen for my sister’s baby shower that i threw back in March. She did an amazing job. Not only was she super responsive and so sweet and helpful but also everything we ordered was amazing. It was so good and so so so beautiful. Id strongly recommend giving Miski a try. They really made my vision come to life. They offer delivery and set up if needed and they really just are so amazing. We had a good variety of treats and everything was good. Our guests are still raving about it. I’ll contact Miski again for my next event for sure.

Miski made our wedding cakes this summer! We ordered a smaller one for the cake cutting and sheet cakes for serving everyone. Carmen is super nice and was really easy to work with. We did a tasting, which was deducted from our order. I am not a huge cake fan but the cake was really good! Not too sweet and everything tasted super fresh. The berry filling and lemon curd is amazing! Highly recommend! And they also have amazing empanadas.

I drive past here all the time and decided to take a chance and order my daughter's birthday cake from here. Ordering was super easy and there was a play kitchen that kept my daughter occupied and happy. I ordered a funfetti half sheet cake with strawberry filling. It turned out beautifully and smelled so good it almost didn't make it to the party whole. The cake was moist and delicious! My only small suggestion would be to put a thin layer of buttercream under the strawberry filling or make it more like a pie filling consistency so the strawberries stay between the layers better, but that's me knit picking. I also ordered vegan gluten free cupcakes. They were moist and very tasty as well! I will definitely be back the next time I need a cake!

Every time I ever order a cheesecake cupcake I always been disappointed, it’s always feels like a water down version of a cheesecake…. Not Here! This cheesecake Cupcake was 100% Too Legit to Quit! It’s the real deal! Definitely recommend this place… I Never been to a Cheesecake Factory but this is what I picture Willy Wonka is working on the back, just making these cupcakes!

Cute, colorful and clean simple atmosphere. Great for pickup. Baked apple cider donuts were melted in the mouth easily and tasty! Deal if you buy 5! Passion fruit cheesecake cupcake - yummyily unique. Loved it. Empanadas recommend it. Vegetarian option - cheese & potatoes. More and more creative treats like choco-flan. Go check it out!!

We love Miski!!! Everything is delicious and fresh! My family and I come here at least once a week. We love all the treats and the horchata iced coffee. The owner Carmen is so kind and welcoming. We ordered treats for my daughters birthday pictures below!They were a huge hit. So excited Miski is in the neighborhood!!

The best empanadas I have ever had and all the pastries are always delicious. This place has been my go to on days off from work or after as well. Keep doing what you are doing.

I love coming here as I live very close by and Dunkin' Donuts doesn't do it for me. I love their horchata coffee and latte. Ive never seen that flavor at coffee shops. I also love their empanadas. They taste so good and I can tell they really do put out the things they have with love. My family has bought their pastries and liked them. It's a cute lil coffee shop that I think people should definitely try out if they've been thinking about it. I forgot to mention but every time I have came in they are very nice and have good service

This place is really good. I had an horchata latte and a guava pastry that was great. I'd say the only downside is that they are closed more than half the week. Most times I've wanted to stop by they've been closed.

Visiting Chicago and we were craving sweets so we found Miski. Great food and service. The Horchata Latte is a MUST and if you pair it with a warm empanada you'll be in heaven. you won't be disappointed.

Wow - what a surprise! I stopped in because I saw their Julius Meinl coffee sign and after my eyes drooled over the display case, I couldn't leave without trying the brownie and banana bread. Seriously unreal - perfect texture, balance, moisture, mouth feel...it all just left me wanting more. I can't wait to go back for the empanadas, which appear to be a house specialty. Very friendly folks making great food. And...the latte was spot on. Thanks and I'll be back!

Beautiful Delicious cake. Decorated with fresh flowers. Service was amazing and everyone in the shop was polite and very helpful. And cake was fresh.

Awesome place to try Peruvian food. My favorite place to eat empanadas. They are very soft and tasty. Hand made. Authentic. Good customer service. Cute and nicely decorated cafe.

I put in an order for a custom cake and did not hear back after three weeks. I called during business hours and left two voicemails and never heard back. I also reached out through instagram when I saw the business page making posts, and my message was never viewed.

I love empanadas and the ones from Miski are really great. The flaky crust and filling ( chicken or beef) are perfect. I also get the horchata ice coffee and their sweet treats, like their blueberry muffins are delicious. It's always a stop when I am in the area.

I was out for a walk today and decided to go inside, got a few cupcakes and a chicken empanada . The cupcakes were delicious, frosting so creamy and delicious! My hubby just finished the empanada he's looking for more- said 3 would of been nice. He said the variety of flavors were amazing. I think, I'll be taking another walk soon. Customer Service was outstanding!!!

An absolute gem. As goes with smaller menus, you must do everything expertly because there's nowhere to hide. This menu is amazing. I highly recommend the empanadas, macarons, and chicha morada. You can taste the love in this food and that's all you need to know. The service is amazing and this is worth the trip if you are considering it.

I finally decided to try this place after seeing it for a while in the neighborhood. I will definitely be back for the Vanilla Custard Napoleon, vegan berry turnover, guava poptart, fruit tart, chocolate chip cookie, blueberry gluten free muffin, chocolate cake pop and churro cheesecake cupcake. Excellent quality and cute place. I did enjoy the tres leches flavors but some were a little too sweet for my tastes. I will want to try the meat empanadas and some of the beverages next time. Definitely a nice place to have in the neighborhood.

After looking up reviews, I had high hopes that I would like this bakery. It's also difficult for me to support a local business when I'm unsatisfied every time I try. On multiple locations, i have almost choked on the dryness of the cupcakes. The empanadas and the pastries both lack flavor. If you enjoy sweets that are moist and rich in flavor, I would not recommend this bakery.

So today I had a friend in from out of town and we topped off our afternoon with a visit to Miski Bakery. I was dying to try the alfajores, and they did not disappoint! The very delicate morsels melted in our mouth, and the creamy luscious dollop of dulce de leche caramel was a perfect pairing. In addition we tried the Milhojas/Napoleons in two flavors the Lucuma pastry creme and also the dulce de leche. A thousand layers is correct, these were amazingly tall, crispy and filled with air, both were delicious but the Lucuma(a Peruvian fruit) pastry creme was the standout. It had such a delightful delicate flavor I had never tasted previously. After speaking with Carmen the owner I asked whether or not they ever carried Turrón de doñja Pepa. She just happened to have some freshly baked sitting on the tray behind the counter, but alas it was still awaiting its filling. This gives me a great reason to return and indulge in that special treat. It is prepared every other week. The service was warm and friendly and this is definitely a hidden gem in the neighborhood you shouldn't miss out on. I will be returning often!
