Great place to celebrate with a small group in one of their booths. There were 3 of us. The service was tapas style...sharing with friends at a slow pace getting one thing from the Itamae at a time. The gyozas were delicious and the sauce was heavenly. We wished the server hadn't taken the leftover away. The dry ramen was ok and probably wont get it again, but hats of to the chef sashimi plate. My 14 yr old who had never tried raw fish loved the squid more than yellow tail! Now thats an accomplishment! All melt in your mouth nom nom. I was super excited about the steamed buns as I lived on Guam for a few years and I haven't ever seen them on restaraunt menus here in the states. The chicken was very good, but nothing like the ones Im used to. The duck steamed bun wasnt impressive but it was tender and that is a good thing. The miso is miso, but the crab ramen was so savory and filling. What I will lovingly call the poke mix was the Spicy Sashimi salad with small bits of tunas, roes, wakame-seaweed, over a bed of long shredded carrots was melt in your mouth with a power punch of shichimi togarashi-spices. The drinks were yummy and beautiful to the eye. I ordered the Hanataba. Like a fancy flowered sake...not too sweet. Brought me back to the sake garden in Japan. The Yaya Man I was so scrumptious! We ended the night with Macha Bruise-green tea cream brulee.
It was a wonderful casual atmosphere where we didnt feel pressed for time or out of place for sharing everything. The service is slower than most westerners are used to, but very attentive and willing to help answer questions. It's a little pricey, a lot compared to a Izakaya in Japan, but well worth it here to celebrate my older daughter's 'Yes to the Dress' day! Thank you so much Miso for making our out of town, out of state experience a night of flavorful celebration!
