Yelp
As a beloved Sushi O Sushi customer, I had to try Miso & Nori as soon as it opened. It's tucked away on Armitage in an underrated stretch of great food spots.
Upon walking in, it gives an intimate and modern feel with the black and tan contrasting color scheme. The lighting is nice and the staff is friendly. I had the pleasure of chatting with TJ, the owner, and am optimistic on the trajectory of the restaurant.
We ordered the Armitage roll, Truffled Tuna roll, and the Zuke Sake Nigiri. We received the crispy rice sampler as a social media promo for their soft opening during April, and also received a salmon roll on the house!
The Armitage roll was the best of the four rolls, and I'm glad to say the legacy of Chef Andy lives on through this roll. I really enjoyed how the tuna was very finely chopped on top of the roll.
The Truffled Salmon roll was also good as it has my favorite sushi rolls wrapped into one: Salmon, avocado, and shrimp tempura, plus some spice. It didn't have as much truffle flavor as I was expecting, but still delicious.
The Zuke Sake (marinated salmon) nigiri was so good I forgot to take a picture.
The crispy rice was excellent and will be ordering again. I just love crispy rice lol, especially a crunchy spicy tuna crispy rice.
The salmon roll was a solid staple. Hoping that there is potential for it to be an option for those looking for cheap takeout on a random day.
I'd definitely recommend Miso & Nori as a nice sushi spot that could be dressed up or down. Anything from a casual sushi dinner with friends to a nice date night. It's currently BYOB although I'm not sure for how long. They also play good music there which is a vibe.
Hoping to try their lunch soon because the additional crispy rices, bowls, and bento boxes look really good on their instagram!
