"The cuisine at Miss Chang An hails from Xi’an, the capital of central China’s Shaanxi Province (in fact Xi’an used to be called Chang’an). Scan the menu for roujiamo (often called a Chinese “burger”) and plenty of noodle dishes like hot and sour sweet potato noodles, Qin Town cold rice noodles, and Xi’an flour noodles. Other unique dishes include glutinous rice, date cakes, and tea-flavored boiled eggs. Sample a bit of everything with a combo — most come with a choice of roujiamo or bun along with one of the noodle dishes." - Matt Lardie

I tried the Roujiamo and Hot & Sour Noodles at this restaurant, and both were absolutely delicious! The Roujiamo was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with a generous portion of flavorful meat. The hot & sour noodles had the perfect balance of tangy and spicy, with chewy noodles that soaked up all the flavor—so addictive! The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the place was clean and cozy. It really reminded me of the taste of home. I’ll definitely be coming back again!

I drove an hour and a half to Cary to try Miss Chang An, and it was absolutely worth the trip! The restaurant is spotless, the service is friendly, and the food is amazing. I tried the rice noodles 米皮and it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. I loved it so much that I ordered four more to take home for my friends! It’s not always easy to find authentic flavors like this, but Miss Chang An delivers. I’ll definitely be coming back regularly. So glad I found this gem!

I had an incredible dining experience at this Xi’an noodle restaurant! The flavors were rich and authentic, with perfectly hand-pulled noodles that had the ideal texture—chewy and flavorful. The spice level was just right, and the broth was deeply satisfying. I especially loved the xi an Flour cold noodle, which were packed with bold and aromatic seasonings. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It truly felt like a taste of Xi’an right here! If you’re looking for authentic Shaanxi cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

We ordered the must try items here today, they are all very delicious and authentic! The flour cold noodle is very chewy, the rice noodle is soft and soaked with the sauce. The iconic Xi’An snack Rougamo is perfect, the dough is crispy and the meat stuffing is so juicy. Highly recommend. The spicy potatoes bun is good too, the potato slices are flavorful and crispy. The spicy oil-splashed noodle is a must try too. The glutinous rice&date cake is not too sweet, it’s a perfect dessert after this meal.

Very interesting tiny hole in the wall. This was our first trip. We ordered Spicy Oil Splashed Noodles, Onion Beef with Rice and a Raogamo. The noodles were quite good. Oily , dense ( but not too dense) somewhat spicy and flavorful, we would order again. Onion Beef with rice is bland , this is a no for us. The Raogamo was 50/50 hubby really liked it. I did not. The meat tasted too porky (if that makes sense.) Seating is very limited. Maybe 8 people max.

I’d give this place 6 stars! Vivi served u and took great care of us both! The food is very, very good. Vivi helps you with everything! The soups are fantastic! And so are the tea eggs! If you haven’t had this food, I highly recommend it!

Google
Love the food so much! I am surprised how the food here is authentic, as if I am in China. The cold noodles, pork bun, and soak bun are fantastic. Hope the restaurant will have a another one in Chapel Hill!

I absolutely loved my experience at Miss Chang An. The food tasted incredibly authentic — every bite brought back memories of home. The liangpi (cold noodles) were perfectly chewy and full of flavor, and the beef soup was rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. You can really tell the dishes are made with care. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the cozy atmosphere made it feel like a hidden gem. I’m so glad I found this place — it’s definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve been to in the Triangle area. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This is really authentic xian food. Certified from local Xian people 西安人认证 非常正宗的. 我没想到还有秦镇米皮。在美国几乎吃不到。

Yelp
SO GOOD! Absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was chefs kiss Combo #4 Braised chicken Tea eggs Hot Pepper Beef Soup with Meat Ball & Bun Chinese beef bun I haven't seen most of these menu options offered anywhere in this area before. The lady working there took time to explain every dish to me once everything was ready & let me know there might be date seeds in the glutinous rice and date cake. Will def be back again!

Yelp
Really authentic flavors here. A very low-key "hole in the wall" location with only 1 table that seats 4. There is also a mini booth by the wall that I think could set 2 people, for a total of 6 seating in the entire place. I probably wouldn't expect to eat inside, I'd plan to get takeout and eat at home. When you walk in you order through a tablet, but when I was there someone was around to assist with ordering if you had any questions. The food overall was pretty good, a different variety than what is normally offered at other Asian takeout places. I really like this because food can get repetitive, especially when everyone has the same options. Really good place to try out if you are feeling a bit more adventurous or just want to switch it up a bit.

Yelp
Amazing little place with indoor seating only got four people total. You need to get their tea eggs, noodle dishes, and more. The quality of the noodles is amazing. I enjoyed the spicy warm noodle dish. I can tell that the spice level is adjusted to the locals. So, if you're expecting some heat, ask for it. They're so nice and accommodating. This place is and feels like a small business. The menu is fairly priced. The combo is around $20 and you'll be really full. I can see the combo being enough for one adult and a child.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my lunch here yesterday. The sweet lady that took our order recommended how to mix the sauces that came with our cold noodle dishes. We got the spicy rice noodle and the spicy wheat noodles along with the Chinese hamburger and the glutinous rice with dates. Everything was delicious! We even ordered an extra spicy cold wheat noodles to go. I spoke with the server and let her know how happy I was to find a place that served Shanxi style food. I just recently moved here after living in Las Vegas for 26 years and this is the closest food to Big Dan Shanxi in Las Vegas. My sister who'd never tried cold noodles before, really liked it too. My mom likes the Chinese hamburger as it's reminiscent of a pulled pork sandwich without the bbq sauce. The glutinous rice dessert was mildly sweet and very sticky which I love. I'm already planning my next trip back!

Yelp
The cold noodles are authentic Chinese taste, reliable price and quick pick up, wish they will find bigger place to set up more room for dining in.

Yelp
This is a new Chinese takeout restaurant specializing in Xi'An cuisine that just opened up near WakeMed Cary. It was tucked away in a very generic shopping center and honestly wasn't the easiest place to get to. The interior was just as nondescript. You can order from a kiosk inside but I opted for online ordering instead. The service was quick and friendly. The lady at the counter took time to separate like pack the hot & cold foods and to explain what the sauces were for the noodles. They have a very limited menu with only a few items. I ordered the braised chicken and the Combo 3 which had the famous Xi'An cold noodles, a rougamo & a dessert of glutinous rice with sweetened red beans & dates. The braised chicken tasted like home...chicken was braised in a soy ginger sauce with shiitake mushrooms with a bit of spiciness thrown in. The Xi'An cold noodles came with 3 sauces. I didn't take a pic of it combined together but it was deliciously savory and garlicky. The chili oil added a mild kick...it's not as spicy as it looks. The rougamo is a homemade bread filled with seasoned stewed pork. Likewise, very flavorful. The glutinous rice dessert also was reminiscent of Chinese home desserts & generously topped with sweetened red bean and Chinese jujube dates (watch out for the pits). Flavors were well paired & the serving sizes were very generous. If you want to try something different from the regular Chinese takeouts in the area, this may be a great option. It's conveniently located near WakeMed Cary & Koka Booth.

Yelp
BLUF: A limited menu for now. Hopefully they're just getting started and will add more Xi'an dishes. Super spartan place. Non-descript aside from the Miss Chang An above their door. They have an online menu and one self-service kiosk where I ordered my lunch. I got the Roujiamo Plus, which just means a bit more meat (pork in this case) and a cold, chili oil gluten. Both were good. The pork was juicy and the bun had a crisp exterior. As I work nearby Miss Chang An is a great addition to my lunch rotation. I'm looking forward to trying their other dishes and to see any new ones that could come. My hope is a cumin lamb bun 孜然羊肉饃.

Yelp
Miss Chang An is a new addition to Cary, located next to the Wake Med Hospital. They have a very limited menu which i like because they can specialize in the 5 items that they have on the menu. They serve items from Xi'An, China which is hard to find in North Carolina. My first time having Xi'An food was from Xi'An Famous Food in NYC, I ordered their Liang Pi also known as cold noodles, I was hooked after the first visit and I would crave it from time to time but it's so hard to find so I am especially glad to see Miss Chang An being so close to my house. For my first visit, I placed an online order, and the order was ready to be pickup at the scheduled time. You have to give them the order number at the counter; I left my phone in the car without memorizing the order number and they weren't able to locate my order with my name since they go by order number only. I ordered Xi'An Cold Noodles and their braised chicken. They give you 3 sauces to mix into the noodles - chili oil, garlic sauce and a vinegary sauce; just toss these all into the noodles and mix. The tanginess left me wanting more. The braised chicken was different than what I had imagined, it was so flavorful and spicy. I finished both plates in one sitting; is it their small portion or my huge appetite? Idk, could be both For my second visit, I placed an online order again, the order was ready to be picked up when I got there though we had a bit of communication issue since the front counter lady didn't speak English. I was able to show her my order number on my phone and picked up my noodles. I ordered two portions Xi'An Cold Noodles for my dinner and saving for braised chicken for the next day. Their food is consistently good both visits and the pricing is affordable. I want to try the Chinese burger next time; it is called the Rougamo on the menu. I hope more people give this place a try so they can stay in business (my ulterior motive for writing this review. )

Yelp
Very authentic flavor in Tang dynasty capital Xi'an. Probably most authentic one I've had cross the continent.

Yelp
Take out only. My order came out pretty quick. My food was freshly made. Service was friendly. There was two customers there are NCSU students who speak Chinese helped me with my order because it was my first time ordering food from this region of China. They were very polite and helpful. While I was waiting for my take out, I saw there was orders were ready for pickup. I hope they are doing well and have more customers soon. PS: As always, I did not think about writing the review so the picture was not good and we were so exciting trying the new food

Yelp
Recommend to everyone who loves authentic Chinese Xi'an Style local food!! The flour cold noodle taste just like what I had in China delicious sauce and just right amount spicy for my kids! Also the spicy broth rice noodle is my other favorite dish! This broth is more spicy compared to cold noodle, but I can hand it no problem! This store is opened by a very cute Chinese young couple, who always be nice and friendly!

Yelp
We placed a pickup order and it was delicious! Had two hamburgers, one cold noodle and the stewed chicken. The chicken was AMAZING but yes you gotta be careful of the small bone shards. Everything else was also fantastic. Would def recommend.
