"Miss Daisy King is a doyenne of Southern cooking, having authored 14 cookbooks, appeared on several national TV shows to talk recipes, and also owned Miss Daisy’s Tearoom in Franklin for over 14 years. While the tea room closed up shop, Miss Daisy now offers her casseroles, meatloaf, salads (like Southern pecan chicken), dips, soups, sandwiches, and sweets to go from an unassuming strip mall storefront off of Hillsboro Road. Grab a chicken divan casserole and carrot layer cake for a hearty dinner at home or take a few of Miss Daisy’s pimento cheese sandwiches and fudgy brownies for a picnic in the park." - Eater Staff, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

"Try one of Miss Daisy King’s famous pumpkin, pecan, bourbon, or chess pies by the slice for just $5 at their Franklin location. You can also bring your own plates or casserole dishes for a “self-catering” option and have a meal with your pie in the cozy shop, which retains the charm of an eccentric tea room." - Clara Wang, Eater Staff

While visiting Miss Daisy’s this week, I dropped by to pick up a couple of side items and a salad. I did pick up an extra muffin as a treat. I did ask the girl for a receipt and when she handed it to me, there was nothing on either side that was printed. So, I asked for another copy. When I got it, there was nothing on either side of the second receipt! I wrote the total amount down on the blank receipt and went on my way. Once I got home, I took a look at the muffin and noticed a dollar increase to six dollars for one muffin! Did this 20% INCREASE just occur for the busy holidays because on October 31 it was $5? OR Wow, was this an extra dollar just for ingredient inflation? The label on the baked muffins says Anne’s Cakes of Nashville. I realize these are muffins bought ahead of time in bulk and frozen. I may have to skip Miss Daisy’s food inflation for a while or pray things go down to a more reasonable price in the future! How about second day half-off muffins? Now that’s an idea!

This place is ideal if you want homemade dishes to take out and piece a southern style meal together at your house! The staff here is so accommodating and there's really nothing about this place that could be considered anything other than exceptional. Buy a Miss Daisy's cookbook while you're there too! Please note, this is not a restaurant, rather a small establishment that makes their own food that you can purchase to takeout.

This does not pertain to the wonderful dishes Miss Daisy is famous for. I’ve never had anything of yours that isn’t perfection. I too have my favorites and one of them is your Chili. Everyone LOVES it, no matter the time of year. Much of the time I’ve been in, you don’t have any.. and that’s ok. I should call. When I think of Miss Daisy , I think Genteel, southern cooking, and gracious hospitality. I have met you many times and Miss Daisy, you are all of that. What a wonderful opportunity you have with the young people in your restaurant to encourage them how to greet a customer and simply acknowledge them when they walk into your shop. To ask if they could help them or even say, “Hello, I’ll be with you in a moment “ would be nice. All of that missing, and the customer having to ask if you have something, then to get a “No”....from the employee falls flat. Not a “we should have some tomorrow,” Or “sorry we just ran out”, or Simply an “I’m sorry is there anything else I could show you”makes anyone feel that their business is appreciated. You have a quaint little shop, small enough that a simple Hello, and Goodbye would be nice. Especially when what you came there for isn’t available. Courtesy goes a long way.

Ridiculously poor customer service. I have ordered custom cakes twice now (once at Thanksgiving and also a 60th birthday event). Neither order was fulfilled. One order was lost and the second was not fulfilled due to a “discrepancy” with the person who actually makes the cakes. Never again.

Google
Loved the selection of take out stuffs. Chicken salad, bean & corn, broccoli salad ! i bought Banana Puddings for clients - big hit. Well, the “skinny” pumpkin chocolate chip tasted sinful. I’ll be going back. Miss Daisy, give us more healthy veggie options - maybe a grain salad !!! Loved it

My daughter and I made our first visit at the new location. We got her delicious pecan chicken salad sandwich, zucchini muffin and took a menu home. She stepped into the room greeted everyone like we were family. She is such a warm, beautiful lady. After checking her menu, she will probably be seeing a lot of the two of us.

Visited yesterday for the first time. Were told food was not "cooked" there, but could get items from the cooler and take home or eat there. Our salads and sandwiches were good. Desserts were amazing. Drinks consisted of canned soft drinks. I did notice that the checkout staff changed shifts during our meal. The next guests that arrived were told (by another staff member) that food from the cooler could be heated up, and were offered fresh tea rather than canned drinks. Their baked potatoes looked delish and were brought out by Miss Daisy. Our food was good, just seems like we didn't have as good of an experience as it could have been. Maybe just came at the wrong time. Next time I'll stick with take out. The set up isn't really geared for an eat in restaurant, and we didn't realize it.

So disappointed in the lack of response. I called two days this week to ask about placing an order to pick up on Saturday. Both times I was told they would talk to Miss Daisy about my request and get back to me. I never heard back and tomorrow is Saturday so I’ve had to make other plans for my menu. I’ve been a fan for years, have all the cookbooks and frequently drove up from Huntsville with friends to eat at the tearoom during the 70’s. Thank you for your response and your offer for the gift certificate. I visited today and look forward to sharing the casserole with one of my Huntsville friends arriving next week. I’ll be back.

Yelp
Everything was incredible including Miss Daisy who came up front to deliver my order. To a California boy like me Miss Daisy is a reminder of my youth and my meals and time with my Grandma Arba. She brought back so many great memories with her food. Love this place, and I will be back next week

Yelp
We were in Franklin to shop and went to Miss Daisy's for a late lunch. We weren't sure what to expect since we had never been there before. The food is delicious! The staff are so friendly and nice! We could see Miss Daisy in the kitchen in the back. :). There are a few small tables with chairs where you can eat there, but it is mostly a "grab and go" place. The food Is made fresh and then labeled in the large refrigerators.. sandwiches, sides, meals, and desserts -all homemade and delicious!!! So glad we tried it and will be back when in Franklin.

Yelp
Tried the zucchini muffin and the almond shortbread muffin, Miss Daisy did not disappoint!

Yelp
This is the epitome southern charm. Walk through the doors of Miss Daisy's and you'll come face to face with the legendary Daisy King herself, renowned for her 14 cookbooks, her role as Pillsbury spokesperson, or a personable lady who has enlightened Nashvillians with culinary tips since the early 1970s. Located next to Cool Cafe since moving from Grassland in 2018, Daisy still creates sweet treats and savory goods every day in this sizable marketplace. My selection was the caramel cake, which so few bakers prepare correctly, and the amazing looking mint brownie. I've posted pictures of these with their gorgeous layers of perfect cake, one complemented by sugary sweet caramel and one with a brilliantly crafted mint filling. The caramel cake was delicious, but the mint brownie was out of this world! I could eat one of those daily for the rest of my life, that beautiful minty flavor and soft texture between a hearty brownie that isn't overly chocolatey but provides the perfect balance for the mint. It is wonderful!

Yelp
Miss Daisy's has it right. It's like walking into an old fashion, small town mom and pop deli. The food is wonderful and fresh, especially their chicken salad! The service is very friendly, and they act like you're an old friend. Keep up the great work!

Yelp
Came for the potato salad with chives. Super fresh!! Highly recommend for lunch or grab and go quiche for the family.

Yelp
Miss Daisy King has found a new home to share her fabulous food and her persistent passion for serving our community in an eclectic strip mall at the corner of Hillsboro Road and Mack Hatcher Highway. Sitting between Cool Cafe and Mack's Bicycle Shop, the long, narrow interior - eventually leading to the kitchen and prep area - welcomes guests with Miss Daisy's signature assortment of cold sandwiches, premade green salads, sensational pies, muffins, cakes, savory Pimento Cheese, and an assortment of other housemade (homemade is a much better description) cold salads (broccoli is my fave) and traditional goodies like chive potato salad, cold quiches, pasta salads, hashbrown casserole, poppyseed chicken (yum), deli meats and cheeses, crackers, chips, jams and jellies, preserves and salad dressings, coffee and teas. Oh my! And all this is just part of today's "soft opening." Y'all need to stop by...because there'll be more in the next few days and weeks...and if Mis Daisy's track record of decades dedicated to food and food writing is any indication...there's bound to be much much more for years to come.

Yelp
I love this place, it's my favorite place to go to in Franklin, and the best food there is the ALMOND MUFFIN!

Yelp
Oh goodness. Miss Daisy's chicken pot pie is off the charts amazing! It is literally the best one my husband and I have ever had. The sausage quiche is similarly amazing! We ran into Miss Daisy while we were there and she was so warm and welcoming that it made the whole experience even better. We look forward to trying more of her delicious foods!

Yelp
I walked in to Miss Daisy's kitchen today, and was pleasantly surprised. The food in the freezer is all homemade and so are the cakes. I tried the caramel white cake which was delicious. I also bought a chicken pot pie so I can see if it is better then Costco's chicken pot pie. I definitely would recommend this place to eat.

Yelp
We live going to Miss Daisy's! Meet and Three never disappoints. The food is delicious and service always good.

Yelp
I am a faithful fan from Green Hills. Time passed while I lived on the north-side of town. Now that I am in Franklin I am super happy to see the new location from Grassland. I will be a frequent patron. Chicken Divan is to die for

Yelp
Sweet little shop chock full of charm and yummy foods. The poppyseed chicken casserole is delish and I love the muffins and cookies. There's also a couple of sidewalk tables for al fresco dining. My only concern is that Miss Daisy does not consistently wear a mask in the shop. On my last visit, she was helping customers without protecting herself. Even when "just walking through" from the front door to the kitchen, she needs to wear a mask, not only for her own health but to give a measure of comfort to shopping customers that all safe health practices are being adhered to.

Yelp
Wow. The food here is deliciously made with quality ingredients, great recipes, and pride. Miss Daisy has apparently been doing this in the Franklin area for 40 years. The food reminds me of my mother's home cooking. Absolutely will be back and cannot recommend enough!!! Thank you Miss Daisy for brightening our day with this delicious meal!!!

Yelp
Delicious food. I love meatloaf, and Miss Daisy hits it out of the park. Perfectly prepared and proportioned, this meatloaf, along with the sides, made the perfect dinner.
