The 19 Best Restaurants In Plano/Richardson - Dallas - The Infatuation

"Miss Pasta is a counter-service spot from the same team behind Mille Lire, with the same excellent Southern Italian pastas. But now they come in huge portions in paper bowls, which makes packing up the inevitable leftovers easier. We love the rich ricotta tortelli with sage butter and spinach, while the gnocchi with basil and string beans is perfectly pillowy. Go all-out on the carbs and get some housemade focaccia, which is as thick as a three-layer cake, and then grab a box of fresh pasta by the pound for your next meal at home (after you’ve finished the leftovers)." - erin booke

This place is a huge hidden gem. I love Italian food and pasta and this is our second visit, and it’s been great every time. This time I got Bolognese and it was near perfect. You can fully tell the pasta is homemade even if they didn’t have the pile by the front counter to look at. It’s easily 2 portions for me, making the ~$18 price tag worth it. This time we also got a salad, and I would say that wasn’t worth the $8. It was also salty which I didn’t enjoy. But every pasta and gnocchi we’ve tried is wonderful. Our only complaint is that it’s not closer!

Google
We heard so much about this place so we had to come try it. The wait was a little over 20 min (from lining up to getting our food). Flavors were really good but the fried calamari wasn’t crispy at all and the fettuccine funghi was extremely oily because the truffle sauce separated after only 3 min (see pic). I couldn’t finish it because it became nauseatingly greasy. I’ll come back to try the rigatoni but I’m steering clear of the creamy pastas.

Google
Miss Pasta is a hidden gem for anyone who loves fresh, comforting Italian food. The pasta is clearly made with care, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and generously portioned. I tried the Alfredo and the meat lasagna, and both were absolutely delicious. Rich sauces, great seasoning, and you can really taste the difference in quality. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff makes you feel right at home. They’re friendly, quick, and happy to offer recommendations. You can tell they take pride in their food and service. Whether you’re dining in or taking it to go, Miss Pasta is a place you’ll want to come back to again and again. Great value, great taste, and a truly satisfying meal every time.

Google
Great place for fresh pasta. It’s clearly made fresh with semolina flour for that unmistakable al dente texture found in excellent pasta. The cheese stuffed tortellini is excellent, I also highly recommend anything with pesto. That said, you really can’t go wrong with any of their sauces. The entree portions are more than enough. We got an appetizer that was excellent but, in all, more food than we could eat. If I was served pasta like this in a white table cloth restaurant I’d be pleased. Finding such excellent pasta in a little, order at the counter, restaurant was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Next time we’re in the mood for pasta we’ll be back. Note: The front of the restaurant isn’t visible from the parking lots. If you go towards the front door of Texas and turn around you’ll see it right away.

Google
We have been coming to this place since it’s opening. I must say it’s truly a Gem to get this fresh pasta. I haven’t had food this good outside of Italy. Everything hand made. Chief inspired platters with taste made to perfection. The staff is extremely kind and make it easy to come back and visit.

Google
This is a must for me every time I'm in Plano - homemade pasta cooked to order. Delicious tiramisu. Friendly people. It's a little oasis in the metro bubble - sit outside on the patio with something delicious to eat and people watch or read a book, and you'll be transported.

Google
This is our second time coming here and we had just as good of a time as before. The pasta was exceptionally fresh and perfectly cooked and both of our entrees were tasty and filling. I love the no-frills feel and my only wish is that this restaurant was closer to home.

Brianna L.

Google
I really wanted to love this place, but it just didn't meet my expectations. The calamari was quite good and I enjoyed the sauces that came with it. I ordered #15 and the pasta was a bit disappointing because the noodles were under cooked. I expected bouncy noodles, but instead got firm and chewy noodles. The focaccia bread was just ok. It wasn't heavy, but I was expecting a crispy exterior with a soft interior. The cannoli was the highlight. There's a hint of lemon in the cream and I love lemon. I would go back and order several cannolis.

Yelp
Great authentic Italian food. The fritter is amazing And the rest of this is filler

Yelp
Went on a Saturday around 4 p.m. and paid about $70 for two pasta dishes, an appetizer, and two drinks. They even charge $1.75 extra just to add grated cheese on top of your pasta. Everything was served in paper takeout containers, which already felt disappointing given the price. The pasta wasn't al dente -- it was undercooked -- and the pesto dish was swimming in oil, making it far too heavy to enjoy. To make matters worse, the restaurant allowed a kids' soccer team to completely take over the dining area. There were no tables available, the kids were running around, and we were forced to eat outside in the heat. Between the poor service, sloppy execution, and lack of consideration for other patrons, this was a major letdown. I understand it's meant to be casual, but $70 for lunch (plus a cheese surcharge!) isn't a casual price point. Very disappointed -- I won't be returning.

Yelp
I am nervous about how good this was because what if I'm here all the time now, out of money, and can't fit into my pants? The pasta comes in a to-go container even if you dine in, but it's cause it's such a big portion that they know you can't finish it. You order at a counter, but unlike a Chipotle or Subway, theres already crafted pasta options. The window is simply so you can see them making the pasta fresh. However, this isn't needed because you can taste just how fresh everything is. You get your drinks from a fridge-like cabinet while in-line to order. I was surprised there was no bar/cocktail menu, but that's fine cause I treated myself to a piece of fresh bread and a cup of the softest, lightest tiramisu. The table set up is very casual, but the patio area is so cute and they will bring your food right to you as you dine al fresco. I cannot wait to come back and try all of the other pastas and convince people to eat all the carbs with me.

Yelp
This place had been on my list to try for ages! I finally had a reason to be in the area for some work and had to try it out. First thing to note, the focaccia slices they give are huge! I made the mistake of ordering two since I was sampling a couple things and it was absolutely not necessary! Their pesto and burrata is absolutely delicious but get's overwhelming after a few bites. This is great to share. I tried the fettucini alla bolognese and it was good. They serve everything in the same type of bowls so with a pasta like this that needed to be mixed, it was difficult to do so. The bowl is deep and as the pasta cools it congeals together and is hard to eat/mix. Good flavor and good portion size. I enjoyed my leftovers more the day after.

Yelp
Simply exquisite, from the service being so warm, the setting feeling as authentic as the food. When i tell you this pasta will have you raising the standard of anything called pasta afterwards....Miss Pasta is a must try!

Yelp
This place!!! I'm in love with Italian food and it's so hard to find in this city, and I found my new favorite place for fast authentic pasta. Chill vibes and great service.

Yelp
Ambiance: Clean, and cozy Italian pasta restaurant. Casual setting/counter order establishment. Service: The women working here were so friendly! Thank you for being patient as I tried to parse through all the yummy options available to me! Food: The pasta is made fresh in-house with family recipes passed down to the owners. You can really taste the difference in quality. I ordered the carbonara. It was super delicious and truly almost reminded me of Italy! I wish it was just more salty like the authentic version!
google avatar

Caroline Z.

Yelp
Such a great spot for hand made fresh pasta!!! The pasta is so so nicely al dente and the spicy one is incredible and so flavorful. The pesto burrata was so good too. Every dish hit and is such a great go to spot!

Yelp
FOOD We have been looking for a pasta place that's more casual, yet offers a variety of italian pasta options. Just like the small casual to-go pasta shops in Italy. Miss Pasta was exactly the type of place we were looking for. We ordered the Buratta, Insalata, Fettuccine Funghi e tartufo, and a seasonal lamb bolognese. The dishes were all very flavorful and they give you large portions which we appreciate. SERVICE The staff were all very nice and accommodating. We had trouble deciding between dishes, and they gave us good recommendations. ENVIRONMENT There is outdoor and indoor seating available, and you may sit anywhere you'd like after ordering.

Yelp
While in the area, I visited this establishment. It was nice and quaint. The staff were friendly. Finding it wasn't as simple as I thought, being that it's located back off between two buildings. After reading other reviews, it seems I'm not alone when it came to trying to find the location. Maybe placing a sign closer to the front would help guide future patrons. There's nothing like some fresh pasta. I ended up getting the #8 which is the spaghetti pomodoro E Basilico. I added extra sauce and meatballs. I enjoyed it. I think it was a decent amount of food for the price. I wasn't able to eat it all in one sitting. I'd definitely visit again and try something different.

Yelp
With the glowing reviews, we were very excited to give Miss Pasta a try on one of our busy weeknights. Unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. We spent nearly $50 on two undersized and frankly underwhelming entrees. Both of our dishes, featuring their red sauce, tasted canned and reminiscent of our childhood Chef Boyardee upbringing. Miss Pasta is simply too expensive for what it delivers.
google avatar

Yelp
Pasta perfection!!! I am so glad that I found this little gem, everything about Miss Pasta was fantastic from the moment I walked in. The restaurant was casual and clean. The staff were all so friendly and professional. They have a water station next to the cutlery and also provide to-go lids/bags there so that you don't have to ask an employee. I ordered the burrata as an appetizer, tonnarelli alla carbonara for my entree, and the tiramisu for dessert - SO DELICIOUS. The food tasted fresh and made with care, I was in heaven. Pricing in my opinion was also reasonable for what you get. I can't wait to return for another yummy Italian meal. Tip: It's located towards the back, in-between Sweetwaters and Texas Roadhouse, so you wont see the signage from the front of the shopping center.
google avatar

Yelp
The short and sweet of this restaurant is as follows: Wonderful homemade pasta in a very casual setting that's kinda expensive for an average lunch spot, but worth it if you're trying to treat yourself to some seriously great food. It was so good that I came here twice in a week. I tried the spaghetti alla puttanesca and the Bolognese and both were solid choices.
google avatar

Yelp
Fast Casual restaurant serving fresh pasta dishes. Each dish has a number....you order and pay at the counter and it is brought to your table. Everything is served on paper but they do have real silverware...not plastic. Pasta portion is HUGE and very tasty..pasta itself is excellent and obviously freshly made....bread is a bit overpriced and just okay. Service is very friendly and helpful
google avatar

Yelp
Stop what you're doing and come to Miss Pasta. Don't bitch about the price, the lack of waiters of dinnerware, or the absence of fried chicken on the menu. Just sit down and get busy masticating on a mouthful of Italian foodgasmic delight.

Yelp
This place is such a "hidden" gem. I know they've been here for a bit now and I'm glad I'm finally trying it! This is where you can find 20 authentic Italian pasta dishes! In a fast casual setting. The pastas are freshly made and the sauces are just yum! Thank you, chef Giuliano Materese from bringing this gem to north Dallas. Definitely worth going back to now that I have 19 other pastas to try.
google avatar

Arwen L.

Yelp
Pasta here is pretty good! The interior is well decorated to seem like a pasta restaurant from Italy. This is an order then sit down spot. They have filtered water, utensils, and napkins for you to grab once you order. They have two bathrooms. Now to the food: Tonnarelli alla Carbonara - good noodles - the sauce very thick Tonnarelli alla Gricia - is similar to the carbonara - is a bit simpler and less saucy Gnocchi Al ragu - there is a big portion of sauce - gnocchi is chewy I would say it is a bit pricey and would probably have it once in a while but the food is pretty good.
google avatar

Sarah N.

Yelp
Loooove this place! Probably one of my favorite pasta places in all of Dallas! They make the pasta in house and you can definitely taste it in the texture. I got the broccoli rabe and sausage pasta and it was amazing! Such a quaint, unassuming place serves up such bold flavors and the pasta was cooked to perfection. The woman at the counter was also super helpful in helping me figure out which one I wanted and she was so lovely~
google avatar

Tanya M.

Yelp
The food was good, the girl at the desk amazing. But 40 for a can of coke and pasta with meatballs and a slice of bread. I asked for more cheese and they wanted to charge me 1.75. For parm. The food was all in paper containers, and it was kinda weird. It was good but I would never go back there. It was also hidden and if I hadn't seen the sign I wouldn't have eaten there.
google avatar

Poppy F.

Yelp
This should be a takeout restaurant only. The set up is a fast food service, where you order at the register, pick your drink from a case, grab your silverware and sit down. The can soft drinks, 4 bucks. Side of Parm cheese, 1.75, which they don't tell you is extra. The serving size is small for the amount the charge and the ambiance is not inviting. No bread with the pasta, not sure if you could order on the side because the menu board didn't say. I much rather sit down, order a fountain drink and be served on real plates not cardboard and pay more. Pasta dishes were good but not great.
google avatar

Ivy D.

Yelp
Food is delicious and true to the authentic Italian cuisine! The service is quick and the staff are really friendly. Definitely will be a regular here :)

Crystal W.

Yelp
What a cute spot!! They really make it feel like a little slice of Italy. And the pasta was some of the best we've had!
google avatar

James Z.

Yelp
Wonderful new fast and casual Italian restaurant. It's the kind of casual place you'd see in Italy that serves up fresh and housemade pastas and sauces. The lady there did say the owner was from Napoli (Naples) and brought his own family recipes over. Really refreshing to see authentic dishes like this. We got the burrata, fettuccine alla bolognese, and tonnarelli alla carbonara. The portions were really big! The burrata had a basil pesto that was easily the best thing we ate here. It tasted so fresh and smooth especially paired with the burrata. Dipping the foccacia in there was a great start to the meal. The focaccia itself was good but not great. It was soft but not as airy or bouncy as I was expecting. It was nice that it was served warm. The fettuccine alla bolognese had a hearty meat sauce. The noodles had a great texture but the sauce was a little on the salty side. Still very good though. The tonnarelli alla carbonara also had great pasta but the carbonara sauce was a little on the watery side and also a little salty. Overall, definitely a great experience and will definitely be back. You can definitely taste the difference with the fresh-made pasta (which they also sell). Some of the pasta sauces could be refined a little but the burrata with basil pesto is something that I'm still thinking of. Lot of great options on their menu to explore.

Yelp
Loved everything! The interior and food was amazing! I felt like I was in Italy having lunch and having a good time!
google avatar

Susan N.

Yelp
I love my carbs so when I found out about this spot that makes a variety of their pasta in house I had to visit! They are a little tucked away inbetween Sweetwaters & Texas Steakhouse. There's plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor tables as well. You order at the counter and they'll bring you your order. Since it was my first time I just default to #17 instead of building my own. Service was great, food came out fresh and hot! The pasta texture was perfect and not overcooked. My dish was just a tad salty for my taste, but still good nonetheless!
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
This might be one of my new favorite casual pasta spots now! We grabbed a variety to-go to try, and don't let the portions fool you... we were all stuffed. Not quite five stars since not every pasta dish stood out, and it's definitely on the pricier side. But our favorite was hands down #20 - Ricotta Tortellini al Tartufo (truffle). So good!
google avatar

Carmen P.

Yelp
#Ciao From the moment you step inside, your senses are awakened! Casual dining with an elevated ambiance! We ordered both the Tortellini Al Pomodoro and Spaghetti Pomodoro with meatballs ... Each bite was a burst of Italian flavors, served hot, fresh, and incredibly authentic - perfectly cooked pasta... and those meatballs (Mama Mia) tender and delicious! Tortellini is one of my favorites, and THIS ONE takes centerstage... and was delicious! The Sicilian Arancino (Beef Ragu, Mozzarella rice ball) was delightful! I had never had one before, and it did not disappoint (excellent presentation, too)! Everything is homemade and authentic, from pasta, sauces, desserts, and more! Service with a smile and good food for your heart and soul. In a world where good service and great food seem rare, this place is a gem that will keep you coming back for more! They also serve wine! #Bonus. First timer ... now a forever customer!! Let Miss Pasta take you on a "Tastebud Vacation" straight to Italy! Ciao!

Yelp
Visited this location last night for dinner. This was our first time so we asked the staff how the ordering works and we received a kindly worded and welcoming explanation and offer for additional assistance. We sat, chose our dishes and ordered. We ordered Spaghetti Alla Puttanesca and Fettuccine Funghi E Tartufo. Our dishes were brought to the table in a timely manner and the server was very sweet. The fettuccini was our favorite, simple, tasty, and fresh. I would absolutely order this again. The Spaghetti on the other hand lacked flavor for its ingredients. This is my "go to" pasta dish as I love the bold flavors of the sardines and capers, however, it had minimal flavor and I was unable to taste these elements aside from a light tomato sauce. Nonetheless, it tasted fresh. It was a bit hard to locate so see suggestions on google. It was clean with minimal but tasteful decor. Casual vibe with open seating. I would return.

Sam N.

Yelp
Food was good. Very over priced and you eat out of paper bowls . Don't ask to change anything on the menu because the people don't know how.
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
Miss Pasta was on my "Want To Try" list for a long while, and I finally got it to-go for dinner last night! It was pretty disappointing, and for a place with such glowing Google reviews, I was expecting more. To start, this is a fast casual italian place. You order at the counter, and your food is served in paper containers. However, they are charging prices you would expect from an upscale/semi-upscale restaurant ($17+ for one pasta). I ordered online, and my pickup time was 6:39pm. I arrived exactly at that time, and my pasta was cold, like it had been sitting there for a while. I think that if you are given a pickup time, the food should be ready around that time. There were also no napkins or utensils included in the bag, and it was sealed shut. I ordered the Insalata and Rigatoni "Miss Pasta". The salad was fine. The pasta was super bland and there wasn't enough sauce to coat the rigatoni. It tasted like it wasn't seasoned at all and seriously lacked flavor. The photos looked amazing online, and I was expecting much more. I would not return - this place is not worth the hype (or price).
google avatar

Coey J.

Yelp
Some of the best pasta I've had in DFW! Feels like you're in an Italian family's home. Bring a big group and order one of everything. It's all very delicious. They sell out of the lasagna early, so make sure to arrive as early as you can!
google avatar

Niraja S.

Yelp
Although the staff were super sweet, the pasta was a little too oily for my liking. The main and only flavor I was getting was salt. We also got a side of foccacia bread, and I was hoping it would be lighter and fluffier. Overall, food was decent!
google avatar

Monica L.

Yelp
Wow ! All I can say is wow ! So yummy and flavorful. Also so fresh and perfectly al dente pasta. I will definitely be coming back!

Erik G.

Yelp
Yummy!!! Great service!!! Clean place!!! More should come and try!!! !!!!Just try it!!!!
google avatar

Eliza B.

Yelp
We have been here several times and it has gotten better and better. I hope that continues. I hope they keep the bathrooms clean too.

Devion T.

Yelp
This dish wasn't cooked all the way and very tasteless! I don't not recommend coming here they over charge and cook things very quickly! service and lack of accommodations on the food being tough is crazy they don't treat you like family here ! I repeat do not come here
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
Delicious fresh pastas available and flavour is amazing! Note: They ask you not to substitute any of their dishes so just be aware of that. I think this place is lovely and I appreciate how kind and knowledgeable the staff is in explaining the menu and about the chef. You do get a generous helping of pasta and they have some vegetarian choices. I hope to come back soon and try this month's lamb ragú pasta as that looks amazing. The decor is really nice and I love they have fresh pastas for sale as well
google avatar

Lisa A.

Yelp
Super expensive but well worth it in my opinion. I believe every thing is freshly made.

Stephen B.

Yelp
Besides the food being Great, the staff heated water for formula, so our grandson could eat and helped us celebrate our daughter's birthday. It is a great place to take your family.

Cindy B.

Yelp
OH MY GOSH!!!! This place was amazing! I had the September Special! The flavor is delicious! I liked the atmosphere being like a quaint cafe. The staff were very nice & friendly. As you enter you, you order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. This smelled like a true Italian place. The pasta smelled very fresh!! I will definitely be back for something different! It's a must-try!!
google avatar

Alli M.

Yelp
Ordered this on an incredibly over priced app for delivery here is my take: Service: Quick, prompt.. yes Packaging: Arrived in an amazing bag that was secured with tape. Ordered the buratta/pesto appetizer and the Ricotta Tortellini entree. Both were in Spectacular "to go" containers. Cool Presentation: Absolutely gorgeous. Each tortallini was displayed evenly around the container with the sauce evenly distributed on the bottom. Garnished with basil in the middle! The buratta was lumped to the side swimming in a sea of gorgeous basil pesto & oil. However there was A LOT of sauce. Still though, picture perfect Taste: ugh here we go... buratta was literally half moisture (typically should hold some texture no matter what the temperature) nope this was pure milk/fat.. it was just bad. Wayyyy too much garlic in the pesto or perhaps the oil. The ricotta was smooth and delicious. The sauce was lacking flavor big time.. but the worst part was the actual tortellini pasta! Outside was over cooked and inside wash mushy as hell. Overall: Hard pass Fogettabout it and order pizza from Dominos instead!
google avatar

Yelp
This food is authentic, and delicious. Damn I've never eaten Italian food like this!!! Wow, we went on a Friday evening and service was great! This is a very casual spot, with faint Italian music in the background. Loved it!
google avatar

Ani J.

Yelp
We ordered from this place last weekend. I had heard amazing reviews from my friend, and couldn't wait to try. We ordered the following: - Fusilli alla Vodka - so good! This pasta is simply delicious. If it tasted this good during takeout, I cannot imagine how good it would be if we ate it fresh over there. Don't think. Just order this. - Rogatoni Miss Pasta - this was just ok, especially when compared to the previous dish. This felt a bit bland, and didn't taste as yummy as the other one. - Tiramisu - this was delish. I loved the way they packaged it for takeout. Overall, loved the food. Would love to try other dishes from there next time I'm in Dallas.
google avatar

Alicia J.

Yelp
I'm thinking I went on a bad night... I ordered the fettuccine alla bolognese, kid's gnocchi al pomodoro, and meatballs to try a little of everything. The pasta was overcooked for my liking, almost a gummy texture. The flavor of the bolognese and meatballs were very good!! I ordered online on a weeknight and the food was prepared quickly. The staff was very friendly as well.

Dayo A.

Yelp
I ordered the lamb ragu pasta, the November special and did not enjoy it. I personally felt it lacked flavor and couldn't finish my bowl. I was excited for the meal but left disappointed. Even the tiramisu didn't taste as good as I thought. Would not recommend :(
google avatar

Krista G.

Yelp
Overall we had a lovely experience at Miss Pasta! The food was good, the staff was friendly and we got a ton of food for a reasonable price. We tried three appetizers and two pastas. For me, the burrata was the star! We had the burrata with pesto and the crispy caprese. Both were fantastic. My husband doesn't normally care for pesto but he said this was outstanding. The frittatina was good but he enjoyed it more than I did. We ended up having leftovers from our adventure and they reheated well. The paper bowls weren't a concern for us; we just snapped lids on the bowls when we were ready to go. This is a place I would visit again.
google avatar

Carmen H.

Yelp
What a Treat! So excited about the addition of Miss Pasta to City. Definitely a delicious night of food & awesome service! I can always use a night off from Creekside Cafe (my kitchen!). Give Miss Pasta a try...it's a definite Yum! Oh, we ordered the meatballs and carbonara, and yes they have wine.

Yelp
Delightful small pasta house with homemade pasta & sauces to delight your senses. The pasta/sauce selections are preset. Order by number. Don't attempt to butcher the Italian names by trying to pronounce. We selected the #20 Tortelli Al Tartufo and the #11 Fettuccini Funghi E Tartufo. Both dishes were delicious. Sauces were correctly prepared and a delight. Walk up counter service and then pick your seat. Pasta is prepared to order. It took about 10 minutes. We thoroughly enjoyed the light jazz music playing in the background. If I lived in the nearby apartments, I would be a regular for eating in or take out. We are looking forward to visiting again soon.

Thomas P.

Yelp
Hands down the best pasta in the DFW area. All made fresh and there is a great variety. Something for everyone to enjoy. I will be back often
