The Best Chinese Restaurants in and Around New Orleans

"Shirley and Tang Lee, the original proprietors of Royal China in Metairie, brought Miss Shirley’s famed cuisine to the former home of Jung’s Golden Dragon II in late 2022, a happy new life for the space. Serving a new, smaller menu than at Royal China, Miss Shirley’s focuses on dim sum, as well as rich, brothy soups and a few Chinese-American staples. The recent refresh adds comforting blues, festive lights, and bigger tables, as dim sum is best enjoyed with a group." - Beth D'Addono, Clair Lorell

Saturday Brunch here with my wife and our son and daughter in law. The food was high quality and wonderfully flavored. I had the Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes with A Scrambled Eggs w/ Cheese and the Cranberry Maple Turkey Sausage. The family had various omelets and everything was delicious. Truly a wonderful dining experience.

I recently had breakfast at Ms. Shirley's Cafe while visiting Baltimore. With a name like that, I knew the food would be good...and it was. I ordered the lemon blueberry cheesecake stuffed French toast (yes, it was as decadent as it sounds), along with chicken sausage, scrambled eggs, because I gotta have my protein, and a cup of regular house coffee. Even the house coffee was good. I was tempted to try one of their signature cocktails, but it was the day before a race, so I passed. Still, their 20th anniversary drink menu looked amazing. The food came out hot and fast, and the service was just as great. Shoutout to my server, Andrew, who was kind, prompt, and efficient. The check-in system was super smooth, and I appreciated being able to wait inside the lobby of the building instead of outside in Baltimore’s heat and humidity. The wait was a little long - around 40 minites, but average for a Saturday morning. All around, it was a great experience — good food, great service, and thoughtful hospitality. If I’m ever in Baltimore again, I’m definitely going back. And bonus: they have a location at the airport, so even if you’re just passing through, you can still get a taste of Ms. Shirley’s delights. ( I have some red flag that the reviews for the airport location are not as great as the locations in the city.)

Google
Ideal eatery for a delicious, plentiful breakfast/brunch/lunch!! The stuffed coconut cream cheese French toast was >2 meals worth! (leftovers warmed up were close to original deliciousness) The fried chicken omelette w/cheddar biscuit was complemented with country gravy. Waiter Yasyl with his excellent, personable service made our entire food experience most enjoyable!!

Party of 4. Two of us ordered omelettes. One was a veggie omelette and the other one was a crab omelette and it tasted better. The hubby had the fried chicken breast with waffles. The chicken was dry probably overcooked but the waffles were so good. The last dish was a kilanpie pancake with whipped cream. Super delicious. The service was good. TY :)

Great little spot around the Ann Arbor came here for brunch on Memorial Day to have a good base in her stomach before we start drinking our way around fells point the menu the staff the quality of the food never disappoint here between the two of us. We got the crab omelette And the chicken and waffle salad. everything was delicious although I didn’t find it that spicy the chicken and waffle salad does come with a hot honey and some people could find it a little spicy but the ambience here is always cool. I was actually surprised when we were waiting just a few minutes to get a seat that this was Guy Fieri’s’s top nine spots. Good to know here before. Definitely be here again great spot.

Google
The wait was less than ten minutes. Jessica greeted us with such courtesy and made me feel comfortable as we spoke in Spanish. Our waiter Vasyl was prompt and attentive. The food was well amazing. I had been researching great places for breakfast and made sure to make this restaurant part of the agenda.

Great experience! Gravy Train Skillet was the table favorite! Greens are excellent. Grits are excellent. Just order it! We also split the peach cobbler French toast - also very good!

Google
We had a fantastic weekday brunch at Miss Shirley’s Café (Inner Harbor) with a reservation—which was preferred, as the place was quite packed even on a weekday! We ordered from their House Specialties menu. I had the Get Your Grits On—a flavourful dish with jumbo blackened shrimp on fried green tomatoes, plus generous chunks of crab meat(optional). It was rich, Southern-inspired, and absolutely delicious. My husband went for the chicken and cheddar green onion waffles, which were unique and satisfying with a great balance of savoury and sweet. Friendly service and a lively atmosphere made it a memorable brunch spot. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Not only was the food and the drinks amazing (I think I had some of the best pancakes of my life), but really great service. My Server Karina was wonderful. And the entire staff was very friendly. The kitchen quickly brought out my food. And for the amount of food it is very well priced in my opinion.

Yelp
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves Saturday 11/2 at Miss Shirley's Cafe! It was a GREAT place to meet our friends from out of town and have plenty of delicious food to converse over! :-)

Yelp
Yum! We walked past this spot a few times and I didn't realize how cute it was! We found it on Yelp and came for brunch while in town for some concerts last weekend and loved it! Waited a few minutes for a lovely patio table, waited on by the sweet Tori, we enjoyed every minute! It has a cute canal/waterfront patio area - a ton of indoor/covered porch seats, and a HUGE menu. Everything looked good - brunch, breakfast, lunch items. Lots of sandwiches, salads, soups but also some delicious breakfast fair like tasty biscuits and tons of pancakes. I wanted everything. Sadly, I am trying to lose baby weight so I went with the chopped salad. It was phenomenal - so fresh and loaded with ingredients like fresh pimentos, corn, three types of tomato, cheese, and a delicious dressing. My husband went with the crab soup but really wanted the grilled cheese (he too was trying to make good choices). Def. will stop in again and get pancakes next time.

Yelp
Low on time? Need brunch in the Inner Harbor on the quick? Just order online and walk over to pick up. I strolled from our nearby hotel for some brunch before heading to the airport for home. I had a short wait while the team finished preparing and packaging our order and strolled right back to our hotel. Everything was packed well and labeled clearly. The house breakfast sandwich came with fried green tomatoes, bacon, and scrambled eggs. We opted for no cheese as a preference and it was served with some solid shredded hash brown potatoes. The blackened salmon and grits also came with some really tasty fried green tomatoes and a Cajun hollandaise sauce. This was a great choice. I like the texture of the grits...creamy, but not entirely smooth to give it character. Thanks to the team for one of the better meals we had while in town.

Yelp
A lot of reviews and the hype is real. We really liked the food here, I liked my southern slammer sandwich with sourdough bread. I like the fried green tomato and bacon with the fried egg, combination of flavors was so good! The shrimp and grits were also delicious! My wife has cravings for it and that's how good it is. Definitely coming back! Service was good and the outdoor dining space was nice. Came on a weekday so there was no line but I'm sure this place is packed on the weekends for brunch

Yelp
So I drove down here to meet halfway with a friend from VA and it was soooo cute!! IT GETS BUSYYYYY!!!! We had to wait about 30 mins for 2 but it was well worth the wait. We ordered way too many sweet things so piece of advice, get some savory items! My favorite item? THE DONUTS. THE BEST strawberry donuts I have EVER had in my life. You have to order them. The cheese biscuits were also good, the savory that I needed. The monkey bread was WAY tooo much for me, very sweet and huge...I did not enjoy it. I got the cinnamon iced pancakes (overkill, I know) and it was good but I could not finish them. It's located by the water and is really nice, across from the mall. Stop here if you are in the area!

Yelp
On my overnight trip to Baltimore, I already knew I was going to come here for breakfast before heading home. I don't know what made me think I wouldn't encounter a await of an hour on a Friday but I was not about to leave. It actually turned out to be about 40 minutes which was great because I was extremely hangry at that point. I had already looked at the menu online and went with the CRAB HASH & FRIED GREEN TOMATO EGGS BENEDICT. Perfectly runny Poached Eggs on Fried Green Tomatoes with Jumbo Lump Crab Meat Hash; Asparagus, Roasted Corn, Red Pepper & Green Onion, garnished with Hollandaise & Chives, dusted with Old Bay. Oh my word! This was my third time visiting and it's just as amazing even after a few years. I will never not come here on my visits to Baltimore.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing menu; I could not decide what to try. I will have to make it back here while I am in town visiting. The chicken and corn chowder was really good but you MUST try the hot honey fried chicken deviled eggs. They have the perfect amount of heat, this dish changed my life! Nice casual atmosphere downtown with very attentive service.

Yelp
We recently visited Miss Shirley's for breakfast and, while there were some highs, the experience left much to be desired. We requested to be seated anywhere but didn't anticipate how chilly the outside patio would be. A heater would've been a great touch, especially for the poor kid at the next table who was bundled up in cloth napkins, and for my sister who sat with goosebumps the entire time. Our server, Jonathan, was fantastic--friendly, prompt, and efficient. We were in a bit of a hurry, and he ensured we got our food quickly, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The chicken and waffles, a signature dish at Miss Shirley's, fell short. The waffles weren't crispy on the outside, instead soft all around like they had been pre-made and left sitting. But the real letdown was the chicken--over-breaded, dry, and frankly some of the worst chicken tenders I've had in years. Even the delicious flavored butter couldn't save the dish. Our group had mixed reviews on their meals. The western omelet was excellent, but the breakfast bowl was under-seasoned. I also had an orange crush, which was disappointingly just orange juice. While the service was top-notch, the food didn't meet expectations. Hopefully, this was just an off day for the kitchen.

Yelp
I'm so disappointed to say that I really didn't enjoy my food as Miss Shirley's. I went at lunchtime and was able to be seated within a few minutes which was great! There were so many good looking things on the menu and I finally decided on the fried chicken sandwich with buffalo/ranch and upgraded to a side of mac n cheese. The chicken had almost no flavor and the mac n cheese wasn't even hot. The Mac n cheese tasted good, but I didn't like the chicken at all. It was so messy with the buffalo/ranch surrounding it. I added some salt to it to try to enjoy it more, but overall it was a really disappointing experience. I'm hoping it was just the thing I picked. I'd try something on the sweeter side if I ever came back.

Yelp
After seeing that Miss Shirley's had the best breakfast in town we had to try it out and it totally lived up to its claim! We started off with some strawberry lemonade mojitos. These were absolutely delicious. The mint made it taste so nice and fresh and it wasn't overly sweet. I ended up getting the Eddie's Two Cage Free Eggs. I opted for poached eggs and these came out perfect! They placed them on two different cut outs of bread (I believe sour dough and rye) which was so nice because when I cut into them, I was able to dip the bread in the yolk. For my protein I got the sage sausage patty and it was so tasty. For my side I had to pick the grits and let me tell you, these were some of the best grits I've ever had! They were so creamy and had pieces of bacon, which gave such a nice flavor. The meal also came with a pimento cheese biscuit, which had to be the best biscuit I've ever had in my life. It was so savory and satisfying. I wish I could have taken a whole box of them home. If you're ever in Baltimore this is a must go to. I already can't wait to go back.

Yelp
You will definitely have to wait...* Yes another DDD review. Just leave your phone # and they will text you when a table is available. They gave us a 45 minute window and it took that long. Our adult libations were a mimosa on her end and Bloody Mary for myself. If you have a sweet tooth try those warm peach cobbler biscuits as a starter. Sinfully good. Once again, just pass on the powdered sugar on top. She ordered the blueberry lemon goat cheese stuffed French toast off the specials menu. A good part of that made it back to our hotel. Portions again a very hearty. I chose the crab hash eggs Benedict. Yum. :) It's a fun place to start the weekend. * But so worth it.
google avatar

Yelp
A must-try if you're in downtown Baltimore! Be prepared for a wait as they don't take reservations, and instead you have to show up to put your name on a list. That being said, we only had to wait about 15 minutes on a busy Sunday morning. The earlier you go, the better! Everyone at the table tried something different, and all enjoyed their meal, including the less adventurous kids. I had the stuffed coconut cream French toast as it was featured on the Food Network. Half the portion would be enough for me, and my dining companions thankfully helped me finish it. I wish it was offered with more berries as it was so rich and delicious but needed some acidity to round it out. I also tried the crab hash eggs Benedict and had secret FOMO that I should have ordered it! We sat outside, next to a cute little canal that I didn't know existed. They had umbrellas for shade and it was tolerable despite the heat. Would be back!

Yelp
Picked this place out for brunch and was not disappointed! One had the holiday omelet, with a pimento cheese biscuit and the crab-berry crush cocktail , one had the avacado and hummus toast with a side of grits and I had the Get Your Grits On with blackened shrimp and a pimento cheese biscuit and a Shirley Temple to drink - and yes an honest to goodness, nonalcoholic Shirley Temple. Everyone enjoyed their brunch. Mine was great and plentiful. I swear, the biscuit weighed half a pound! I could not finish the shrimp and grits. Would definitely eat there again! I almost forgot - we started with the buffalo shrimp deviled eggs - OMG!! Very good!!

Yelp
Wow! That is the best way that I can describe my experience. My family recently went to this establishment, and I must say that everyone I met recommended this place for breakfast. I can see why now. I ordered the coconut cream filled with French toast and scrambled eggs with cheese. Not only was the food exceptional, but I also had an allergy to shellfish, and they took special precautions in preparing my food. My wife ordered the sausage, egg, and cheese bagel. She loved it! My son ordered the Devil eggs and they filled him up. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive, professional, and courteous. The ambiance was family-friendly. It was packed, but the food was coming out quickly. I will be back.
google avatar

Jacob F.

Yelp
The service was good. For strawberry donuts to start. Keep in mind they only come with 2 donuts. I appreciated the amount of sauce on it, as I don't like things to be drenched in topping. Soft and delicious. I recommend. The eggs had the perfect amount of cheese melt on them. It didn't feel like they just threw two slices of Kraft on there and called it a day. Really impressed. My guest enjoyed the savory chicken and waffles, however, it did not come with syrup, which they had to ask for. The cranberry juice is tart and bitter, not sweet. My other guest got a strawberry lemonade, which they enjoyed. The French toast serving is generous. If you want specialty whipped cream, it's $5. The oatmeal was eclectic and delicious. A little runny, for me, though. Not too loud, however, some tables are kind of close together. Parking is in the back of the restaurant, which is rare, if you know Baltimore.

Yelp
This place serves some yummy food! It opens at 8 in the morning and there was already a small line. We were quickly seated. I ordered coffee on all my visits. It was consistently delicious each time. Served piping hot with a side of half and half. Our server kept the cup full all the time. Everything I ordered on my visits were well spiced and flavorful. I really enjoyed the homemade pimento cheese biscuits. Wow they are fantastic! There is also another variety- a cobbler, which I tried once but didn't care for as much. The appetizer of eggs with the hot honey was funky and interesting. It was unique and worth trying. It had all of the textures and seasonings. On my most recent visit I had the Maryland omelette. It was loaded with crab and pure delicious flavors. It was filling but kind of pricey. The side of potatoes were not as crispy as I would have liked. Overall this place is worth the visit. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Yummy brunch spot! Had a lot of options on the menu. The service was great the staff was friendly.

Monica Q.

Yelp
The food here is amazing and we didn't mind waiting an hour. It was worth the wait. We were recommend to come here from our waitress at McCormick and Schmidt. The drinks were delicious and the food was amazing. We would come back to Baltimore just to come to Miss Shirley's café.
google avatar

Yelp
Miss Shirley's is a popular breakfast and brunch spot known for its Southern-inspired dishes. We ordered two entrees to try. The gravy train southern skillet featured a hearty mix of ingredients like grits, fried chicken, eggs, and collard greens, all cooked together for a comforting and filling meal. The coconut cream stuffed French toast was a decadent treat, with creamy coconut filling sandwiched between slices of French toast. While the experience at Miss Shirley's was decent, the dishes we tried, didn't quite meet our expectations. The skillet was very greasy, and the French toast, while creative, was a bit heavy and the cream was overly sweet with only a tiny hint of coconut flavor. The service was good, and the atmosphere was lively, but overall, we found the meal to be just okay. However, I would give this place another chance to try out other dishes from their extensive menu and possibly update this review in the future.
google avatar

Jason P.

Yelp
The food wasn't bad, but holy cow... this place should be renamed Miss Shirley's Diabetes Cafe. I ordered the Coconut French Toast which had a cream cheese filling. They must have used, without exaggeration, a block of cream cheese and a quarter pound of sugar. My partner ordered the eggs and everything came with extra butter and pimento cheese. If you're looking for high calorie uber sweet/rich food this is the place for you!
google avatar

Moon M.

Yelp
Sorry...no...the pancakes were stiff, dense, diner-standard, and entirely unimpressive. I don't know how these doughy manhole covers won any awards of any kind... Buttermilk Pancakes: 2/5 The Maryland Omelet was decent. But under-seasoned (meaning NOT seasoned at all) and, unfortunately, nothing to rave about... Maryland Omelet: 3/5 Top this off with the fact that, with 2 coffees and a side of bacon, plus tax and tip, our meal costed $78 freakin' dollars ($78.82 to be exact). Suffice it to say, I will NEVER come back to this restaurant! Sorry, but the value simply isn't there. IHOP would've been comparable at half the price. I would've given this place 2 stars overall if our server wasn't so nice. So kudos, Sarah, your friendly, attentive service made us a little less mad at dropping nearly $80 on a supremely mediocre brunch. Okay...the Pimento Cheese Biscuits (that came with the omelette) were good... Pimento Cheese Biscuits: 4/5 So, I guess service and biscuits push this place slightly over the line into the 3 stars range.

Yelp
Make sure you have a reservation. Service was great. The shrimp devil eggs was amazing . The French toast was good as well but very big, Two people can definitely share. The turkey sausage was tasty. The crab soup was good and spicy. The decor is nice and show their attributes on the walls.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at Miss Shirley's Cafe. I came here to celebrate my birthday and at first glance, I was surpised at how small the restaurant was, however I did notice they have a large patio for seating and you can look outside while your eating. Nonetheless it was somewhat crowded and I was seated very fast. Once I got seated my waiter introduced himself and he was very friendly. I ordered the Maryland Omelet and the pineapple upside down pancakes. The food arrived hot and it did not take long at all. The Maryland omelet was delicious it had lump crab meat that tasted like they got that straight from the chesapake bay lol!! I'm serious!...I was not expectating that crab to be so delightful! The whole omelet was a delicious surprise, cause I was not sure about crab and omelet but it kinda went together real bad!! Anyway the pancakes was ginormours and I kinda wish it was a little bit sweeter but it was good. Overall I paid about 45.00 and I had food for left over for days! So it was worth it! Good experience and great location in beeytiful inner harbor.

Yelp
I finally tried the much touted Miss Shirley's - talked up by my coworkers for years. And yeah, they're right. While they love the pancakes, I just can't eat big platefuls of sweet things for breakfast (or ever, really). My companion was nice enough to let me have a few bites of her cinnamon danish pancakes, which was all I wanted and would have been able to manage. They were almost supernaturally fluffy and really more rich than overly sweet due to the cream cheese icing. What I ordered was pretty much what I would dream up if I were tasked with creating an ideal breakfast dish: a crab cake benedict over fried green tomatoes with a generous helping of hash made with corn and asparagus (well, I wouldn't have added the asparagus, but it worked here). This was just... perfect. My issue with benedicts is always 'too much English muffin'... well, sub the muffin with a fried green tomato! Then throw an extra one under the hash for the hell of it. And somehow keep it crispy even under all this other food. The poached eggs were super runny and coated the whole plate with yummy dippable yolk. The crab cakes were basically just giant hunks of crab barely held together by a prayer - not excess breading here.

Keisha F.

Yelp
Food is not as it was when it first opened but still good. Service was nice. We ordered online for pick up. The inside looks nice. Still busy as ever!
google avatar

Courtney R.

Yelp
Walked in without a reservation on a spring Saturday morning, we were seated 20 minutes later. Location was convenient with a parking garage a block away. Service was friendly and quick. The food was just okay. The Crab Hash Benny was disappointing, 6/10 at best. It needs a biscuit or something. The crab omelet was under-seasoned and unfulfilling. With so many food options in the area, I can't say I'd be back or recommend anyone going.
google avatar

Karo R.

Yelp
Miss Shirley is definitely a VIBE! Beautiful spot in the heart of Baltimore! Very creative menu, we ordered mimosas, crab omelette and a yogurt bowl, came out very well. The service was outstanding, Gerald gave really good service, he was super friendly and very personable. The restaurant was extremely clean. The manager came out to check on us to make sure everything was well with the food, and this brunch did not break the bank I would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Brad S.

Yelp
Overall, it's good. Just good. I imagine as a tourist stop it does really well. Big winner: pimento biscuits. They were freaking delicious. My crab hash was good. Friend had shrimp and grits, and they were good. I certainly wouldn't rush back and eat there again, but it wasn't bad. Service was fine. Ambiance was fine. It's a straight 3 star experience start to finish.
google avatar

Ashlyn W.

Yelp
This place is always a safe options for brunch. the food if always good and the service is always efficient. I've never had any complaints here! Great for families and small kids or a even a ladies day! There's usually a wait, especially on a nice day but it's alway worth it.
google avatar

Brenda C.

Yelp
Hands down ... best spot for brunch and breakfast. The servers were very pleasant and attentive. Food was delicious. Portions are amble for 2 people. Would definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Amiel C.

Yelp
The layout of the restaurant is... odd. They have this other dining area that is separately from the main restaurant across the lobby - with maybe 6 tables(?). Well, the food was fresh and fast. Server was friendly. It was just the separate dining area threw me off.
google avatar

Shameerah S.

Yelp
So this review is sort of a mixed one. I've been here a couple of times with family, the presentation of food and service has always been good, no complaints there. However, the food is over priced which makes it taste just okay. It's always nice to support a black-owned business, black woman at that, but the food here is way overpriced for its quality. The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is really nice, very southern friendly. I would spend a range of $19-$45 whenever I went. I personally wouldn't suggest Miss Shirley's as a first choice for brunch, BUT if you have family coming into town or friends, it's a nice suggestion. FYI the Cold Spring location is the better restaurant. I'll be back here on the next invite.
google avatar

Kiara R.

Yelp
Was in town with some coworkers and decided to try Miss Shirley's, it was recommended frequently on TikTok. The restaurant is located in a building with other restaurants but offers parking on the street or garage. The ambiance is nice and enjoyed seeing all of the restaurants awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Our waitress was very nice and helped answer all of our questions. On to my meal. The cran pineapple mimosa was what I thought cute and tasted delicious. The waffles were great, the reason for my 4 stars is due to the dryness of the chicken.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
I loved the service at this restaurant, our server was so sweet and checked up on us a lot. Additionally she gave good recommendations on what to order. The food was very good and portions were big as well. Definitely a good place to bring your family for brunch or your friends!
google avatar

Alonzo R.

Yelp
Stopped there for breakfast meals and they have excellent food options. The food has nice quality and so delicious. The place was large and spacious inside. Lots of seating and the interior setting was pleasantly great. Everything I have tried from this place is absolutely delicious. They have great food to enjoy. The food was all fresh and has nice quality. We had pleasant time dining there. The food was served promptly too. Nice customer service.

Yelp
Hands down 5 out of 5. I wish I had more photos. We got some morning cocktails--love love loved all the garnish on my Spicy Shirley! We got the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer--the table demolished them before I thought of pictures, so it a lonely tomato of one. Now the best part was the Maryland omelettes. 3 of us ordered it. Old Bay throughout...giant chunks of fresh crab...ooey gooey cheese. It was a beautiful experience and very Baltimore. I cannot wait to come back and do it all over again!
google avatar

Susie W.

Yelp
Stopped by again on a busy Sunday morning. We put our name in on the wait list (no reservations) and waited for not too long before we were sat and served immediately. Food is always great here, I really loved the banana pancakes and the crab eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes. This is the perfect place to take your parents when they visit or revive yourself after a long weekend!

Yelp
Dedicated to have breakfast here after my sister raved about this place. My sister, my friend, and I ordered different dishes. I chose the Cajun skillet, my sister chose the crab hash and fried green tomato eggs benedict, and my friend just ordered mixed fruit and grits. Let's start with the good. The service was okay. The restaurant had plenty of seating with both indoor and outdoor seating. Overall, it was a nice looking restaurant. The water came to the table when we grabbed his attention. The food came out nicely presented. My sister said her food was amazing. My friend said the grit was fresh and sweet and grits were good, although she wished there were more pieces of bacon in it. Now the bad...my food unfortunately had a non-human piece of hair in it and I brought it to their attention. They offered to remake my food and my sister asked since they were remaking it can they make the hash browns crispy since they weren't. I waited for about 15 minutes and my replacement ordered had been made. It was much smaller portion and the hash browns were well over cooked. The waiter came over and instead of acknowledging the hair in my food he stated that he hoped it was made correctly as if I sent it back for that reason. I honestly, choose another restaurant next time I'm back in Baltimore. It just wasn't for me. However, my sister said she would return.

Yelp
Oh my god I order the double eggs and a omelet the worst food I have had in a long time the deviled eggs look like pig slop my dog would not eat it please please do not waist you money I am out of $60 don't know if the food is this way because I Uber it but that should not matter the omelet is suppose to be a western it had no meat at lol filled with big red peppers yellow peppers I chewed the egg and had to spit it out it was overcooked and chewy you ever had a overcooked boil egg then you know what I am saying it's possible this cook just was tired or they did training when making my food I don't know but a renowned breakfast place should never send this slop out to anyone I am so mad and it's nothing I can do about it 60 bucks down drain

Yelp
Great food our server was amazing. The portions were large and the building was nice. They also validate parking which is great.

Yelp
Diner's, Drive-Ins, and Dives would never steer you wrong. In fact, they steered me right to Miss Shirley's and I'm so glad to have made the trip. We live in Los Angeles, not necessarily a southern cooking mecca, so I was really looking forward to some tasty southern food at Miss Shirley's. It was easy enough to get seated, just a short wait and I was on my way to heaven. I ordered the gravy train southern skillet and I'm telling you I'd order it again 3920 more times. Collards and biscuit and egg and gravy AND grits? There is just so much going on here but it all works together in perfect harmony. My husband kind of messed up. He got the coconut cream french toast which is.....too much for the morning and too much for one person. It was really, really sweet and really, really dense. It would definitely be a shareable situation for many, many (many) people. Definitely not a great breakfast, you just need more to a meal than sugar. It was tasty but just wayyyy too much of everything! If you are planning to be in the area, definitely come here!

Yelp
I've loved Miss Shirley's since I was first introduced to the Annapolis location back in 2013. 10 years later and my first time dining at a Baltimore location. Glad to see still tastes just as delicious and holds the same place in my heart. The inner harbor location is right across from the national aquarium. It occupies the ground floor of what looks like an office building. Decor is pretty standard American diner vibes. The highlight being the numerous awards and positive feedback for the business covering the walls. Waited about 30 mins for a table around noon on a Friday. Not too bad if you've been here before and trust me the line was out the door. The host staff was really friendly. Our waitress Kathleen was a pleasure, walked us through some of her favorite menu items and made sure to check on us plenty throughout our time here. We ordered the pancakes with chocolate chips and a side of bacon. As well as the gravy train souther skillet. Pancakes were crispy on the outside but fluffy on the inside. That gravy train was next level! Chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy. The biscuit was delicious. Grits were cheesy and just as good as I remember. Highly recommend checking out any of the miss Shirley's locations if you have the chance. It's a Baltimore mainstay and worth the wait!

Yelp
Food was great. I got the cinnamon apple pancakes which unfortunately do not come with a side. The place was packed but the wait list moved very quickly. Since it's in the harbor there aren't great free parking options, but there is a parking garage next door

Yelp
The ambiance was a vibe and our server was very engaging. The food came out hot and on point I tried the fall caramel apple mimosa and it was delicious! Miss Shirley's never disappoints:)

Yelp
We picked this restaurant because of its proximity to the Inner Harbor. They had cocktails! The mimosa sunrise and strawberry lemonade mimosa were delicious. The kids menu was a decent price. Portions are big and we could have shared one meal. The outdoor patio also had AC which is great during the humid summer days. The server was very nice and food was quick! I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
I try to have shrimp and grits wherever I go and this is the first time I've had shrimp and grits on fried green tomatoes. It was excellent. The Tomatoes were cooked perfectly and the grits were not runny. The shrimp was seasoned Cajun style and it made for a perfect topping.

Yelp
No pics because we went with our daughter and I was busy with feeding and entertaining her. Our server, Melissa (I think, maybe Michele?), was fantastic! She allowed me to substitute yogurt for scrambled eggs for my daughter since she's got a mild allergy to eggs right now. The food was ok. I got the pulled pork grilled cheese. I wouldn't call it a grilled cheese. It was more like a roasted pulled pork sandwich with some pimento cheese. The hashbrowns with onions were ok. They were under seasoned and had really big cuts of undercooked onion. And they came out cold. My husband liked the breakfast tacos. My daughter's pancakes were fine. The highlight was our server. Don't think I'll return because of the mediocre food.

Yelp
Maybe SS Shirley's is a very high profile breakfast spot in Baltimore. There is an entire wall filled with tributes to all of the times Miss Shirley's was featured on Food TV. We found the food to be decent in taste but unjustifiably costly. The home made sage breakfast sausage had very little sage flavor. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly cooked but largely flavorless saved only by a top flight chow chow to make them worth eating. My wife liked her excessively sweet peach cobbler pancakes. The breakfast served at David & Dads was much better and half the cost.
