This place is the bomb! If you want good beer and great service this is the place! Jorge and Irving are incredibly and will help you make the best selection. The old mission lager, Saison and strawberry Mojito are the bomb! Don't miss this place! It's worth the drive and time!

I don’t understand how Mission Brewery is not a 4.8 or higher but i suppose the issue for most folk is the waves of homeless outside the brewery. While it’s unfortunate, this is one of my favorite breweries from the vibe of the establishment and history of the building to the drinks and the PRICES!! $5 beer options at the time of writing this on March of 2024!!! can’t beat that in San Diego

Our recent visit to Mission Brewing in San Diego was elevated to new heights thanks to the outstanding service provided by Ariel. From the moment we entered the brewery, Ariel’s warm greeting and genuine enthusiasm set the tone for a memorable experience. Ariel’s knowledge of the brewery’s offerings was impressive, and she expertly guided us through the beer selection, recommending brews that perfectly suited our tastes. Her passion for craft beer was evident in every interaction, making our visit not only enjoyable but also educational. In addition to her expertise, Ariel’s attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel truly valued as customers. She went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed, and her genuine hospitality left a lasting impression. Overall, our experience at Mission Brewing was made exceptional by Ariel’s exceptional service. With her guidance, we were able to enjoy a fantastic selection of beers in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We look forward to returning to Mission Brewing, where we know we’ll be greeted with the same exceptional service from Ariel.

Do not hold events here, and if you do make sure they’re large enough (50+) to make money because this place doesn’t really seem to care about smaller events. My husband and I held our rehearsal dinner here. We hired a food truck and contracted the bar to serve a party of 25+ upstairs in their event space. Our event was supposed to begin at 5, guests promptly arrived at 5PM and there was no mobile bar set up as we had agreed upon. My guests were left to order downstairs and pay for their own tab rather than adding to our minimum bar tab for the mobile bar. It took about 45 minutes for them to setup the mobile bar when we arrived. Now we didn’t expect a mobile bar to have all of the full offerings as the bar downstairs, however there were only two beers on tap and no soft drinks upstairs. Which still left guests having to go up and down the stairs and again, being charged downstairs rather than adding to the tab upstairs unless my husband or I went with them. I was also originally told there were tables we could use for seating, then they backtracked and said no there weren’t, which was fine, so I went ahead and rented tables and chairs for our older guests who couldn’t sit at the high top tables which were offered. Upon arriving I discovered there were two, large, round glass tables (standard height) which meant I never needed to order the rentals but no one told me this. Money wasted. I gave this place enough opportunity to resolve the issues we had and have yet to receive a response but prior to the event they were very responsive. I’m extremely disappointed in how they’ve decided to handle this matter and would not recommend to anyone for holding events.

Great beers, enjoyable atmosphere, cool aesthetic, and good service. Also dog friendly, how fun! Downfalls: doesn’t really have food options and the area is extremely sketchy, Uber to and from…

Google
This place has great selection of beer, spacious. They have upstairs seating as well. Seems like plenty of street parking. Only negative thing, the surrounding area does not seem to be the safest. Outside there are a lot of homeless encampments, very dirty.

Wanted to do a flight but their dishwasher was down for repairs. No worries. I had the Mission IPA and the DDH Talus IPA. Both were excellent! Cool place to hang out before catching a Padres game in San Diego

Great brewery. Had a great time. There are plenty of beer choices. They can can any beer you like. The staff was awesome and super attentive. Thos location is super convenient right off the 5 freeway in the old Wonder Bread factory.. The Decor is great. So if your ever thirsty stop by. Also if your girlfriend doesnt like beer they have a great sweet root beer(with alcohol of course). Limited time only.

Yelp
We were visiting San Diego and could not be happier we stumbled upon this Brewery! From the outside it doesn't seem like much, but inside it's clean and welcoming. The beers we tried were all good! I loved the foggy shores! It's crazy because it smells like Banana. My friends really liked the lavender lemonade hard seltzer, and the pineapple under the sea IPA. Most importantly, I can't say enough about the AMAZING about Jorge and Irving and the service we received!!! They were absolutely amazing!!! Because of them this will definitely be a spot I recommend to everyone in San Diego.

Yelp
So good to have finally tried Mission Brewery and can remove it off of my "to try" list. For this brewery Steve and I had their Blonde , named Mission Blonde. This wasn't a bad blonde but it wasn't exactly the best one I have come across either. It kind of had an odd aftertaste which I am not sure if it was purposeful for the recipe but it wasn't bad regardless. Flavor features to look for with this are clean, sweet and dry. The beer is very smooth in body and is light. And as the summer heat is here it's a decent beer to have while enjoying the sun.

Yelp
It's been awhile since we've been at Mission Brewery but after a fun Comic Con event here we were pulled back for their Pineapple IIPA. I really like the broad selection at Mission, and the addition of pinball and video games, as well as a ping pong table, makes it a cool environment. They have added several industrial fans which keeps the air flow and temperature really pleasant. No fault of Mission, but the streets of downtown have become increasingly filthy and the drawback of having to hopscotch over trash, urine and other crap is an unfortunate deterrent to heading here.

Yelp
We attended a comedy show here the other night and had an enjoyable time. We arrived early, ordered a couple beers at the bar and sort of congregated by the stairs until someone came and checked for tickets about 15 minutes before the opening act. There isn't a bar in the loft upstairs but you can bring your beers up there. Though the evening was fairly cool, it was still stuffy upstairs. I would think during the hotter months it's unbearable. The beers were good though. I tried a Paloma hard seltzer and also the Pacific Passage Japanese-style lager. The lager was pleasant and light; perfect if you don't want that bloated feeling after a couple pints. I appreciate that they preserved the old factory vibe of the historic building and it seemed to be a well-liked spot in the neighborhood.

Yelp
The outside of this place may not look like a good example of "Americas greatest city" but once one walks through the doors the decor is nothing less than exquisite! One can enjoy the brilliance of the stars as you sip your alcoholic beverage or simply capture a memorable picture with friends. Irving takes care of you and Adam keeps you entertained, go grab a cold one today!

Edgar G.

Yelp
Make sure you guys get my homie Jorge! This dude doesn't let your glass get empty and had world class customer service!

Yelp
Pretty cool brewery within walking distance of Petco Park, I had a 4 beer flight that was only $8 (super rare price for a flight now a day) ended up leaving with a 6-pack of their Shipwrecked dipa thanks to their pint and 6 pack deal. They've got good prices and solid beers. Their to go beers came in handy since we had to settle for the expensive $50 tailgate parking lot across the street before the Padres game. They don't have food here so if you're going to be in the area for an extended amount of town make sure to grab something to eat before or after you visit. 14th street is a little sketchy with a few homeless camps near the area but during the daytime it wasn't too bad so this brewery is totally worth checking out.

Maria W.

Yelp
The bartenders were amazing!!!! The IPA's were the best I've had in California. Jorge and Irving both deserve a raise for providing such great customer service!

A G.

Yelp
Good beer, Irving is the man!! Took care of us answered all our questions suggested some beers, chill atmosphere

Yelp
This is a cute brewery! We came here before a Padres game and it made for a great time to hang out beforehand. It's located right across the street from the stadium, so it's an easy walk to and from, with a giant paid-parking lot in between. They had a moderate amount of beers to choose from - I couldn't tell you which one I ordered but I remembered really loving it! There's tons of cozy chairs and games to play here, so it's a great place to chill out. Glad we came!

Yelp
I visited the location in downtown on July 4th weekend. It was super chill, not crowded at all Saturday in the late afternoon. We tried the blonde ale and the Cocomos. I love the name reminds me of house music :). My favorite WAS the Cocomos. It is sour and has a coconut after taste, it sounds weird but it was refreshing and addictive. Service was great, very helpful staff. Although not very busy you can see staff is happy to be there at such a cool spot. Restroom is through a long pathway, left, right, left, right for womens hehe. The place itself is huge in an industrial setting. They have "mission" emblems throughout the brewery, very nice ambiance and decor. They have 2 huge round tables you can sit at in the first floor, they are lifted and lit by the ceiling window above. They also have an upstairs area and a game room to the left when you enter. They offer merchandise too. They have another location by the airport too which looks huge and could be the first location. I really liked this one in downtown due to the location. We will be back soon! Thanks again!

Ashlee M.

Yelp
Irving and Jorge are AMAZING!! Try the Lavender Lemonade, get some shirts and tip well. They are so friendly and welcoming. The beer is cold, service is top notch. They deserve raises!

Yelp
There are so many movies that come to mind that when you think of breweries the Canadian Movie strange brew that was a hockey movie and yes it was one of the funniest movies there was out in the cinemas and yes beer has been one of the most widely used drinks during the many events from Baseball to Hockey to Football. When I was taking a walk down the East Village area there are so many buildings that have great history to them, and the many areas of East Village has had the years of the war that had many changes over the years that you can still find many buildings standing today. There was one building that I have seen many times that when I would come to the library to do research and get reviews posted online. Many of the buildings that you may find have been old drug stores and one have been storage buildings there was one that was the old Wonder Bread factory that was located in the East Village area of San Diego. Taking a closer look at the building there was a large silo container that was on top that gave the gave the indication there was storage containers inside and there would tanker trucks that were loading up. When I had gotten closer there was more of a restaurant look to it and to see the Wonder Bread name that was still up after the many years and the age of the building still in great condition. The sign at the front of the building that had got my eye that it was a brewery it had the look and the feel of a brewery that would be from the 60s and the 70s that didn't have the conveyors and the bottling machines. I decided to walk to a look inside and have a good beer in the afternoon there was a small crowd that was enjoying the ball game just looking about see the many areas large seating areas that were the bottom of the silos and looking up see the top floor and the large opening at the top. I took a look at the many beers this told me they made the beer fresh and the grades of what they have told me they have a good line up and the lineup looks pretty good. I had ordered a cold IPA that had a good hard but smooth flavor that had the taste of orange to it and the aroma gave a good clear scent of it. The location in the midst of East Village and the location shows that was a building that was of the early earl 1900s and the walls of the building showed the long bolts that were used to help keep the walls steady during an earthquake. I was able to see there back area that had many of the large containers that were making beer and the aging process that was going on with the products that takes a while for beer. The many things that the Mission Brewery has the History it has the great feel of when beer was made and the many years that the Wonder bread company that was there. To be able to see what the inside of brewery is and the many functions of the many stations it gives you the many steps that beer takes to make. As my recommendation that the Mission Brewery is one brewery that shows great history in the product, they make and the many ingredients they use to make the best beer.

Yelp
I miss the good ol' days when the entrance was off L street and the tasting room was ginormous. Times change and apparently they've turned the large space into a production area. Also no prices were posted on the video screen menus. Complimentary two hour parking nearby. Best availability is between 4 and 6 PM weekdays.

Yelp
Cool brewery with fun beers!! It was a fun place to grab a beer and watch the game and play some pinball

Yelp
Fantastically crafted brews and great service and guidance for visiting SD! Thanks Atom!

Yelp
Can't get better than Jorge's service! Love how he connects to his guests and gives his honest opinion on everything!

Arlene P.

Yelp
Covid review #9 Way to be a team player Mission Brewery! They gave out little packets of yeast so people could make bread away home. They're out now but might have liquid yeast soon. Love that. They're still open for beer to go, growlers etc...

David D.

Yelp
I was here as part of a gig I did with a pipe band I'm involved in about a few months ago. Walking in, the atmosphere of the brewery was rustic, witty and inviting, with some modern implementations, and seemed to fit the overall... *mission* of the establishment. It's a very casual spot to stop by in before a Padres game (as they seemed to cater to, given there's access to it on a sign pointing towards the staircase). I kept thinking we were at the bottom of the stadium, but as it turns out they probably have widescreen TVs up there that lets you watch the ball game from there. After our usual break, the first attempt to get a drink was a little rough since it was pretty busy throughout, but the second attempt after another break, a bandmate and I got our drinks: I ordered a 4 oz English Mild if I remember correctly, and I think they at the time got a lager or a blonde--I'm not totally certain. Their prices were actually relatively decent if not modest; lots of places where you'd normally buy beer from are actually far more expensive, especially these days, than just getting it from a (specialised) liquor store. Needless to say, the Mild was actually spot on and very flavourful: the smell and the modest alcohol content actually did a whole lot of good to the overall drinking experience of this English Mild they brew there; it became an *instant* favourite. The flavour and its pricing overall made that very small purchase really worth my time and money spent. On top of that, the staff I encountered, however very limited in my experience, was courteous and patient, especially the bartender at the time. She looked rather busy tackling multiple orders at once with crowds of patrons awaiting her availability, which makes me feel pretty merciful as I understand how things are in that situation, but the patrons themselves were pretty good as well, not just because they were being given a Celtic treat. So the overall atmosphere of those in the brewery were very positive. If I ever had the chance to go back down to Downtown S.D., this would be the place I'd try to mosey back onto to try their other offerings.

Ciaran O.

Yelp
Fantastic spot! Can particularly recommend the Vegan pizza and Festbeer! Adam behind the bar is great too! Would definitely come back!

Malia P.

Yelp
I was recently there for a pint and poses event that occurs every other Saturday. An hour of light yoga stretching is done inside the brewery followed by drinks at the bar. It's beautiful upstairs overlooking below. I always have a blast. There is a sense of community in this local bar. The employees are always so friendly and will help you pick the perfect pint.

Jeff T.

Yelp
Fast and friendly service every time I'm there. Beers are reasonably priced and the place is a great place to hang.

Jessica S.

Yelp
My husband would disagree with this rating, but that's okay. We walked over to Mission to escape Comic Con, and to plan the rest of our day over some beer. The walk between the Trolley Station and the brewery is a bit sketch to be sure, but it was the middle of the day and there were a ton of people around. Still, I felt much better about location once we got closer to Petco. At any rate, the brewery was fairly empty when we arrived. I mean, it was just after 12 pm on a Friday, after all. As is my MO, I went with the flight, which in their case is four tasters. The Grapefruit Radler was super crisp and tart, with a clean, refreshing finish. It definitely hit the spot on a hot and steamy summer day. The Summer Crusher was my least favorite brew; it was tagged as a "cream ale", but lacked in the sweet, creamy, flavorful areas. The Hefeweizen was a nice chaser to the Summer Crusher, with crisp clean notes and a strong banana finish. My final taster was the Friar's Gold (highly recommended by a nice stranger at the bar) - it tasted almost...beefy? It had a smoky odor with a hearty mouthfeel. I wanted more citrus than meat, unfortunately. My chosen pint for the day was the Grapefruit Radler. It was a nice sipping brew that helped take the edge off the stress of the Con and the heat of the day. I did love the space of the brewery itself. It's nice and open, with lots of exposed brick. We actually did briefly pop into the brewery a few years ago, also during Comic Con, when they had an offsite event going on. We didn't stay, and we didn't partake in the beer, so I'm glad we came to try it this time. My husband definitely enjoyed the beer experience much more than I did, but I worry in that his favorite beer that day was a seasonal, meaning they probably don't have it on tap anymore. Will he still like the brewery and their offerings if that beer is gone? Only time will tell. Oh - and if you have to use the restroom, bring your walking shoes and your hard hat. And maybe some breadcrumbs to leave a trail back to the bar area. It's tucked way far back into the building, and you go through some spots that you probably shouldn't have to walk through. But, the restroom was clean and smelled nice, which is always a bonus.

George B.

Yelp
Out-of-town reviewer here. Mission was a very fun and chill brewery to visit but I am glad we took an Uber over. The area was inundated with homeless tents so members of our group did not feel comfortable walking there. I am glad we took the trip though. Mission features an extremely large facility and unique seating inside what looks like old kettles. Plus they have shuffleboard! I was able to get flights of 4 beers, all of which were solid. I preferred the stouts the most, which I always do. Supposedly they have hard cocktails from time to time but not when I was there. They are pet friendly.

Gordon V.

Yelp
This place is awesome! Great service, great atmosphere, and great beer! If you're visiting or live in San Diego this should be on your list. I love the fact that the brewers are engaging and have great personalities, which makes sense why the beer is so great! There is a long bar with fine choices of brews on the board. Get a pint or a flight. Dog Friendly even on the bar stool. Play shuffleboard on an amazing table in the middle of all the action. Take time to enjoy the aroma of hops and malt and watch the brewers at work, its fascinating! Food trucks have great food, check times and days for those. The bathrooms are past the bar to the left, right into the back where brewing is taking place. Cheers to a fine fun brewery!

Terry H.

Yelp
This place was worth the walk, and is conveniently located right by the Padres' stadium. We went in for a few drinks before the game, and I was happy that they offered flights so I could try different kinds. It was only $8 for a flight, which I think it a fantastic price considering the options. The staff was very helpful in choosing beers. I recommend the game day, Thai blonde, smoke and dark beers. All various in flavor, but amazing. The most unique one was the smoke, which literally had a smoky aftertaste to it. I'd never had a beer like that before. I think my second favorite was the Thai blonde. Again, couldn't really go wrong with any of the choices. Don't miss out on this brewery! It's rich in history and worth the trip. Enjoy, because I definitely did.

Brad S.

Yelp
Laid back place with a good selection of beers. One of the more cool looking buildings in a bit of a sketchy area.

Jes M.

Yelp
Bummer they don't offer food but at least the beer is good. There is also free parking nearby, which is golden given the location. I started with a flight and then moved onto the beers I liked. I ended up getting a growler of the Hefe.

Brent L.

Yelp
Mission Brewery is located in what appears to be an old Wonder Bread factory. The brewery has an old world Spanish galleon theme going on, and it's really cool. I didn't get a good shot of the bar, but the wood it's built with is finished to look like it came from one of those old ships. They also sell kegs, growlers and crowlers, but they keep with the ship theme and call their crowlers "cannons." On my maiden voyage to the Mission Brewery, I ordered a flight of four - four ounce pours for $7.50. On my sample board were the following beers: - "Mission Hefeweizen" - Hefs are usually one of my go-to beers, but this one just didn't do it for me. It was too light tasting I guess. - "This Must be a Saison" - I try saisons on occasion, but they're not on my usual rotation. However, this one was quite tasty. It was a saison with sauvignon blanc mixed in and it had a light, crisp, fruity smell and taste to it. It wasn't on the menu board, but the tapmaster told me about it and talked me into it. - "Mission Amber" - this was probably my favorite - good and malty. - "D'Gnarly India Pale Kolsch" - I like a good kolsch, but not India Pale Ales. So when I saw India Pale in the name of this beer, I almost didn't order it. But I had never heard of an IPK before, so I figured what the hell, let me try it out. I wasn't disappointed. It wasn't nearly as hoppy as a straight forward IPA, so I survived it. It was a crisp kolsch with light fruit flavors to it - very light. I don't like fruity beers, but the taste of it in this one was perfect, and I would try it again. All in all, this is a cool brewery, with awesome staff, service, and beer! They also have a nice shuffleboard table, some pinball machines, a really long bar and plenty of table seating. You can also bring your own food or have it delivered here. Five stars to this brewery!

Kristen M.

Yelp
Good food with a fun atmosphere. Great beer and friendly staff. Hip neighborhood and great interiors. Drop in if you're visiting San Diego.

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Visited Mission Brewery just because I saw it on the maps and it looked close by. The inside is huge and has a lot of space for large groups! Ordered a flight, which was super cheap at ~$8, and the beers were good! The bartender was super helpful when ordering as well. As other people have noted, this brewery is in more of the sketch neighborhood which is surrounded by homeless people so you tend to fell a bit unsafe when walking outside.

Jason B.

Yelp
3.5 stars... Came here a year ago and used a Groupon for a tasting...I've been hooked since! Dark seas is their imperial stout, and it does not disappoint! My night ended with one of these, but very happily began with a seasonal coconut brown. Dark, cool, mildly coconut infused but nothing is overpowering in this one, smoove drinkin! Ambiance is industrial barn, prices are in line with surroundings, and staff was courteous and available. My fav "little" brewery in SD...this joint makes the list!

Jay K.

Yelp
Mission Brewery is located in the old Wonderbread factory. You wouldn't think much of it while passing by, but as soon as you walk in you know you're home. It's pet friendly and you can bring outside food. A brewery is truly good when you get two flights of beers and every single one you try is delicious. I've never been more satisfied with such a large selection than here. Aunt Cali's BP was hands down my favorite. Looking at my past reviews and pictures, I guess you can say I have a type haha.

Erin Z.

Yelp
We randomly found ourselves here after our Tijuana day was a bust. We tried two beers and played a game of Battleship. Beers were good and the bartender was nice and very friendly. We both enjoyed that the space was a former Wonder Bread facility and thought it was a neat way to re-purpose it. It is a spacious brewing facility/taproom with plenty of seating and beers to try. Next time we are visiting I would stop in again to try more beers and play more games!

Darcy M.

Yelp
Recently had a pretty big party here. (About 50 folks in all). It was on a night when there wasn't any Petco Park events, so we basically had the place to ourselves. The staff was great, gave us a private room to use at no cost, they even tried to call around and get a food truck to come (I set it up pretty last minute, so we didn't have luck with a food truck). The place is big, so was good for a big party. They have mostly just beers, but a couple other options on the menu. Because it's a brewery, a few kids even came, which is nice for flexibility. Generally a good option for a big get together.

Darynka G.

Yelp
Found this brewery on Groupon for a brewery tour for 2 and 2 pint glasses for $23. Decided to buy it why not, was going to San Diego for the weekend. Me and my bf loved it! He's a beer person so he enjoyed it very much. They give you 4 beer tastings (delicious) throughout the hour tour. Out tour guide was so informative and gave us real life examples for those of us that don't know about measurements and beer. Had a great time. PSA: if you're a lady and need to use the restroom take a friend w you or your man cause it's all the way in the back and feel kind of sketchy going by yourself. Will absolutely be back when I'm in town!

Shane G.

Yelp
Best brewery in Southern Cali ! Great location. Friendly environment. Can't wait to go back ...

Yelp
I LOVE Mission Brewery! They have great selection of beers and their tasting room is so awesome. We had our wedding here this past weekend and I have to say that Mission Brewery fulfilled my wedding dreams. I'm a fairly practical person and simplicity is key. I always wanted brick, wood, concrete, and metal.. yes I know.. it sounds pretty hipster. I stumbled upon this venue by accident because I didn't even know they did events until I saw it on their website and inquire about it. Donna, the event coordinator at Mission, is so amazing. She's very attentive to your needs and is genuinely sincere in the well-being of you and your wedding. She assisted us with our seating and gave us ideas for the wedding. We rented out the top floor and the wedding was just amazing. Donna even helped my chair and table vendor put chairs down lol. The venue itself just had so much character and many of our guests loved it. It felt intimate and very cozy. I am so happy that I was able to have my wedding here- Mission Brewery is amazing! AMAZING.

Marissa W.

Yelp
Recently paid this brewery a visit and it went as expected. The bartender was very sweet and helpful, too. As it was my first visit, she let me try some things and recommended beers based on my preferences. The feel of the place was very brewery-esque and I dug the industrial feel. The bar is very open as well and inviting. The one big drawback was the ms pac man machine wasn't working And... the beer is just okay. Probably won't be back but wouldn't mind if I stumbled in sometime in the future.

Saleen D.

Yelp
I fell in love with this brewery after having so many of their beers at Petco Park! They have a great selection of beers & really tasty seasonal beers so make sure to try them! It is a huge brewery & has fun games like corn hole. Seasonal beers- Late To The Fest (Oktoberfest Style Marzen): Delicious! Tastes just like autumn. Raspberry Wheat: A must get! A subtle hint of raspberry, so refreshing!

Howard G.

Yelp
Service is lousy. Bartenders constantly have their face in their phones. Its hard to get their attention. Bar manager is an argumenative jerk. Staff blames every problem on customers. Place is dirty. Staff never cleans. Beer is passable. Management cares nothing about cuatomers.

Ruth T.

Yelp
** 3.5 STARS ** After hitting up two other breweries earlier in the day, we were on a...mission...for more beer! Mission Brewery seemed like a good choice close to downtown. There's only street parking, but there seemed to be a lot of it. You can see Petco Park from here- it's not quite walking distance, but it would still make a good watering hole after a game. The inside of this brewery is quite cool. Outside it looks like a warehouse, but the inside looks like a pirate tavern. There's also a shuffleboard table off to the side, but I didn't get to try it because so many people were already playing. I think they recently renovated the side area too for a more modern, cool look. There was a private party going on upstairs, so we just stayed in the main tasting room. There is no food, but there was an outside party grilling hot dogs outside, and I believe they have complimentary chips. I got four tasters for $7, and a HARD ROOT BEER ($6.50). Unfortunately, I thought these beers did not stand out very much. They weren't bad, but nothing made me want to come back specifically for that brew. The best one was probably their DARK SEAS stout, with an ABV of 9.8% and a rich flavor. I also had the SHIPWRECKED IPA, which was a smooth drink but not very memorable. I thought the GRAPEFRUIT IPA and GINGER BEER (cask) were below average. The hard root beer was quite disappointing to me. With an ABV of 7.5%, it packs a punch. It certainly smelled like root beer, but the taste was very heavy on the licorice and tasted almost medicinal. Not Your Father's Root Beer is much, much better. I won't come back anytime soon, because there are so many more breweries to try in San Diego, but the atmosphere is great and their beers are decently priced. Beers: 3, Service: 3, Environment: 4, Price: 4

Yelp
Awesome spot. Plenty of options, including gluten free; friendly and welcoming staff.

Yelp
Zack was an awesome and knowledgeable tour guide. He shared many interesting facts with us during our tour of the old Wonder Bread building. AND he poured samples of many of their beers along the way, so we didn't get parched. I have been on beer tours before and I would have to say this one was the best. Their beers were great too. My fav was the Shipwrecked IIPA. Zack shared that their standard beers are listed on the left of the board and the seasonal beers (where the brewer can experiment and pour his heart into), are on the right. He said when you visit, make sure you try some of these since it may be your only chance. The brewery is near the green trolly line and walkable from the convention center.

Yelp
Located in East Village. I came here over the weekend with some friends for a Halloween Dog costume event. I was super bored with nothing to do so I decided to tag along even though I don't have a dog haha! We were here for about 3 hours. It's a pretty big brewery. It's good for events. I'm not a beer fan but did see a lot of good beer specials going on. If you like beer, give this place a try. There's a park across the street and we were able to find street parking.

Yelp
Came here as part of my personal tour of San Diego Got myself the mission amber and I actually liked it. Nice and smooth yum. My friend tried the flight (saison, mission esb, mission heff, wtpt pale ale) and he highly recommended all of those options! The workers were polite and there was plenty of seating and space. Nice brewery, a lot of options, a good place to sit back and enjoy

Yelp
We are SOOOOOO happy we chose Mission Brewery as our wedding venue! We just had our amazing wedding at Mission and I couldnt be happier that we had our event there ! Not only is the space beautiful with historic value and killer lighting but it made it so easy t decorate since its already amazing! We were so lucky to work with Jenna and the team at mission who were crazy organized and really helpful through the whole process. Jenna made sure that we felt at home in the Mission space. She was a super helpful point of contact for us and our coordinator while being perfectly hands on through the process but never overbearing. Everyone worked so hard for us and we are so grateful. We got an awesome selection of 12 beers and 4 wines and had access to their belly bars and glassware. They have an awesome house sound system and the perfect spot for speeches. All in all, our guests were amped on the space and so were we! We cant wait to be back as patrons and as Mr and Mrs!

Yelp
I'm familiar with Mission Brewery. I've had their Hard Rootbeer and Dark Seas. Both are likable depending on what you're looking for, but I was in the mood to try something new. Just our luck, there were plenty of seasonal beers and other unique frozen cocktails. I decided to go with a Blueberry Blonde while my friend tried the Frozen Orange Lemonade. The Blueberry Blonde is very fruit forward, on the nose and palate. It's perfect for a light summer drink or just to relax. The cocktails are 7.5% ABV and is like a slurpee for adults. They can be a bit alcohol forward as the ice melts, but they are nice sippers or drinks to sit on. And as you kick back with beers or cocktails, there's free chips at the bar to munch on too! They also have beer competitions hourly or so. To enter, you pay $6 for a giant mug and the goal of the competition is to be the last man (or woman) standing for who holds up their beer the longest. Quite interesting to see all the contestants and I heard a few bystanders placing their bets on who they think would take it all. Winner gets $10! Before we hopped to the next location, friends did some shopping in their small merch store. You can take home bottles, apparel or gifts to friends, family or yourself haha. It's a small shop, but it covers a bit of everything for the Mission Brewery fan.

Yelp
Really like this brewery. I had a tasting flight and enjoyed two beers before a baseball game. A very relaxed atmosphere, nice bartenders and very spacious. Seems like it would a fun place for a low key birthday or for a beer crawl.
