"Diners craving Memphis-style soul food on the go can drop by the Summertime Soul Food truck. The menu includes barbecue spare ribs, fried whiting, chicken wings plus ears of corn, potato salad and french fries. Dessert includes strawberry cake and banana pudding." - Krista Diamond

Found this on a list of “best soul food”…First online shows it’s dine in. It’s not… couldn’t go in to order had to call it in. No prices listed. Paid $54 for an oxtail plate!!! Mac and cheese was inedible..cornbread dressing was crumbled cornbread with gravy. Meat loaf was literally a loaf of meat (not sure what kind of meat). No seasoning on anything!! Black eyed peas were hard. Collards were canned. Mashed potatoes weren’t seasoned. Was my birthday lunch and this totally ruined that for me. This place is terrible and not with the money that was paid.

The food was was really good. Not one of us had a complaint. The cornbread was light and fluffy. The veggies cooked to perfection. The meat was seasoned well and the prices was worth every dollar! Our waitress Atiffa was pleasant and helpful. The hostess was nice and conversational. It was a good experience.

I rarely give negative reviews but man was I disappointed with this attempt at soul food. I’m feeling under the weather so I called in a pickup order of a side of macaroni and cheese and some banana pudding. There was not one speck of salt or pepper in my macaroni and cheese, and the container was barely filled half way for a $4 serving it was REALLY TINY. It just tasted like cheesy bland MUSH. Then the pudding had to have been more than 4 days old. The wafers had decomposed down to grittty nothingness, the pudding itself was becoming hard and gelatinous and there was not one piece of banana in it…again $4 for a TINY serving that I couldn’t even eat AND they charged me a random 50 cent fee for making a to go order.

Lawd I don't know what type of Soul food this is, the dressing is mushy Jiffy cornbread out the box, the chitterlings were clean I give them that but they had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I spent $92 for this food and it was not worth it, for their prices I should be able to taste the food. The yams & okra were the only things that were partially ok. The Mac and cheese was over cooked. And Omg Lawd the Peach Cobbler was super cold and nasty. They tried, but it just ain't good soul food at all. I usually never give bad reviews, but this was definitely necessary. I tried them once in 2016 and it was horrible then (the chitterlings) but today I wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt. But Lawdd. I should have learned my lesson from my first experience. The only reason they are getting a one star is because I was forced to add one before I could post this review. Oh and make sure if your paying with cash, you have the correct change bc they will tell you they don't have change.

First time trying this restaurant. It’s carry out only, you need to call in your order and they’ll call you when your order is ready. They take your form of payment outside, lock the door then return with your receipt and food. I ordered chitterlings ($60.00)and I’m not sure it was chitterlings. Whatever it was, it was cut up real small and the consistency was thicker than chitterlings. Not my type of customer service, I won’t be going back.

I had the beef short ribs meal and hubby had the catfish meal both was delicious 😋 it was our first time there. We couldn't go inside due to the pandemic so we ordered takeout... either than that definitely will come back.

The food here was awesome! Everything we tried was so good. Probably one of the best chicken and waffles I’ve tasted. The chicken was so moist, the skin was crispy and so flavorful. The waffle is a special recipe and was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The fried green tomatoes were very good too, nice and crispy, firm and with lots of flavor. The shrimp and grits were creamy with a kick of spice. I would go here all the time if I lived in Vegas.

In December 2023, I paid $70 for food that was contaminated with multiple hairs. I was denied a refund. I was offered another item or the same item. I refused the offer. The windows are blacked out and customer(s) can’t see into or enter the restaurant. These are red flag warnings to not trust that the restaurant is clean and has earned an “A” Grade from the health department.
