Google
Found this on a list of “best soul food”…First online shows it’s dine in. It’s not… couldn’t go in to order had to call it in. No prices listed. Paid $54 for an oxtail plate!!! Mac and cheese was inedible..cornbread dressing was crumbled cornbread with gravy. Meat loaf was literally a loaf of meat (not sure what kind of meat). No seasoning on anything!! Black eyed peas were hard. Collards were canned. Mashed potatoes weren’t seasoned. Was my birthday lunch and this totally ruined that for me. This place is terrible and not with the money that was paid.

The food was was really good. Not one of us had a complaint. The cornbread was light and fluffy. The veggies cooked to perfection. The meat was seasoned well and the prices was worth every dollar! Our waitress Atiffa was pleasant and helpful. The hostess was nice and conversational. It was a good experience.

The food here was awesome! Everything we tried was so good. Probably one of the best chicken and waffles I’ve tasted. The chicken was so moist, the skin was crispy and so flavorful. The waffle is a special recipe and was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The fried green tomatoes were very good too, nice and crispy, firm and with lots of flavor. The shrimp and grits were creamy with a kick of spice. I would go here all the time if I lived in Vegas.

I rarely give negative reviews but man was I disappointed with this attempt at soul food. I’m feeling under the weather so I called in a pickup order of a side of macaroni and cheese and some banana pudding. There was not one speck of salt or pepper in my macaroni and cheese, and the container was barely filled half way for a $4 serving it was REALLY TINY. It just tasted like cheesy bland MUSH. Then the pudding had to have been more than 4 days old. The wafers had decomposed down to grittty nothingness, the pudding itself was becoming hard and gelatinous and there was not one piece of banana in it…again $4 for a TINY serving that I couldn’t even eat AND they charged me a random 50 cent fee for making a to go order.

Lawd I don't know what type of Soul food this is, the dressing is mushy Jiffy cornbread out the box, the chitterlings were clean I give them that but they had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. I spent $92 for this food and it was not worth it, for their prices I should be able to taste the food. The yams & okra were the only things that were partially ok. The Mac and cheese was over cooked. And Omg Lawd the Peach Cobbler was super cold and nasty. They tried, but it just ain't good soul food at all. I usually never give bad reviews, but this was definitely necessary. I tried them once in 2016 and it was horrible then (the chitterlings) but today I wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt. But Lawdd. I should have learned my lesson from my first experience. The only reason they are getting a one star is because I was forced to add one before I could post this review. Oh and make sure if your paying with cash, you have the correct change bc they will tell you they don't have change.

Google
First time trying this restaurant. It’s carry out only, you need to call in your order and they’ll call you when your order is ready. They take your form of payment outside, lock the door then return with your receipt and food. I ordered chitterlings ($60.00)and I’m not sure it was chitterlings. Whatever it was, it was cut up real small and the consistency was thicker than chitterlings. Not my type of customer service, I won’t be going back.

I had the beef short ribs meal and hubby had the catfish meal both was delicious 😋 it was our first time there. We couldn't go inside due to the pandemic so we ordered takeout... either than that definitely will come back.

Food was not good at all not! They put their gravy on almost everything and its doesn't taste good. Not a place I would recommend to get soul food. But good customer service.

Yelp
This restaurant isn't what it was five years ago. Due to the pandemic (I guess) take-out was the only option for customers. Which you found out once you arrived to the location. Which sucks for visitors who are ubering to dine here. Of course the prices have went up which us understandable, but not if the food quality has went down. The cabbage and mac n cheese was bland. And the cheese was gummy from sitting too long. The flavor from the gravy was delicious for sure. Unfortunately Gritz Cafe closed at 3p.m. otherwise we would've dined there. Girl's trip 2022

Yelp
We were in the area this weekend and found this place on Google. It was a small cute little spot inside of a strip mall. There is only six tables, so we had to wait for a little bit for one to open up. It was too hot outside, and we were tired of driving so we decided to dine in instead of takeout. I was craving some oxtails and saw in the Yelp reviews that they served them. However, when we were looking at the menu there were no oxtails mentioned. Feeling disappointed, we just settled for a chicken dinner, and a rib dinner. A few minutes after we ordered, the guy behind us whom was clearly a regular ordered three oxtail dinners, and something else that was not on the menu. I immediately jumped up, and got back in line so that I can get the oxtail dinner I was craving. So, just know they have many more food choices that are not printed on their menu which sucks if you are not a regular that would already know this. We would not have known if that guy would not have ordered them while we were sitting there. Anyway, the smothered oxtails and rice was ON POINT!!!! Perfectly flavored, and cooked. The portions were small, and some of the meat was fatty, but still very much enjoyable. Oh, with every meal you get two sides to go with it, so I had the collard greens, and macaroni and cheese. The chicken dinner I ordered was not good at all. It was flavorless, and dry. Probably because they fried it in cornmeal batter, which can tend to dry out some meats. The customer service was great! There are two ladies, both taking turns serving, and taking walk in orders. They both were extremely busy, but still managed to keep a smile on their faces, and made you feel welcomed. That is probably the main reason why most people complained about not being able to get through to them on the phone. People kept constantly walking in, and food orders kept rolling out from the kitchen. If in the area again, I would definitely come back for the oxtail dinner. If you guys are craving something specific and it is not on the menu, just try your luck and ask if they serve it, because more than likely they probably do.

Yelp
M & M's is still open but by ordering via phone. Open M -F from 12 - 6 pm phone # 702-333-1374. My review. I ordered for 2 . Meatloaf with Mac and cheese plus dressing. Also ordered fried catfish. The fish is swai FYI but it was very tasty. The dressing was good and their meatloaf was great also. And everything was fresh. Will definitely go back. Just be sure to go to their site Mississippimary.com to view the menu!

Yelp
Recently went to Vegas with a friend who loves soul food so...M&M was recommended. It may have had its potential at one point, but I definitely didn't see the hype, to start the restaurant only takes call in orders, which was not noted on the restaurant site so that was a disappointment especially when you have to uber. The doors are locked so you cannot even walk-in and order or wait for your food inside, The restaurant didn't appear to be clean at all so waiting outside may have been the best option anyway. If it was up to me I wouldn't have ordered from them at all, but my friend was dying to eat here. I ordered the red beans and rice to say the least I could have kept my money the sausage was sooooooo burnt that I couldn't even eat most of it, the cornbread was about the only halfway decent thing I tried. To add my friends food was not very good either. So upon my experience I will not be back and most definitely would not recommend!

Yelp
This place is HORRIBLE. I had to come back 2 times just to get my order somewhat correct. First they gave me 2plates of some dry looking chitlins (no pictures too upset) I wanted smothered chicken. So I went back to get the correct order and it was still INCORRECT. They used boneless skinless breast strips instead of a full chicken breast. I ordered okra, it was cold and tasted frozen. I also ordered grits and shrimp that were clumped up hard. They are called #MississippiMary at this M&M location on Charleston and Valley View!! This place should NOT carry the name !! They are rude. No proper customer service skills. The light skin female employee needs to learn how to be more respectful when talking to people.

Yelp
With covid the complication of ordering and receiving your order I can under stand. But what I received was so disappointing. Ordered fried chicken burned, old left over and warmed over. Mac and cheese, I can't. They should rename themself as the house of yams. The yams were outstanding. Visiting from Los Angeles, this killed me to drive 20 minutes to pick up food and quality was not good.

Yelp
I hate trashing a business because I know times are hard but that's the exact reason I feel you should step up your game! We placed an order over the phone for 3 people which included smothered chicken, chitlins (yeah, I spelled it that way) and greens and mac and cheese. We ended up with fried chicken (salty as heck) chitlins and mac and cheese and greens (that tasted like they put sugar in them. SUGAR!) The bill came to OVER $300! Really? For 3 meals carryout and a few desserts? The quality has gone completely down from when we used to come here years back. No dine in so you just stand outside like you're at a dang trap house waiting on whatever food they decide to hand you out the door! I can't even! So disappointing!

Yelp
This place is not called M&M soul food. The name is Mississippi mamas. the quality of their food has really gone down. I would not recommend this place. The chitterlings are horrible too spicy and cut up in tiny little pieces. The greens are just OK. Nothing to write home about. Their cornbread sucks. It should not even be called corn bread. I would barely feed that to pigeons. They should close the business if they're scared to let people in due to the pandemic. This place is extremely overpriced. They will not see another nickel of my money just close the place.

Yelp
I'm from California where "M and M" soul food is a hit! Out here it's the opposite. We ordered two plates with drinks to go and it came out to about $72 . That alone is crazy but for good food expectations I was willing to risk it. However when I got home and opened our food it seemed not fresh not hot especially the red beans and rice. I continued to try my short ribs and my husband try his smothered chicken both had a distinct taste and not fresh at all. 10 minutes after eating a small portion of the food both of our stomachs went left. Nothing but signs of old not well food. I do not recommend this location and I will never go waste my money again. What a waste

Yelp
This place is very disappointing don't waste your time unless you plan on sitting on the toilet there's a reason you can't dine in they can't look you in the face just nasty and Rob you for your money.....

Yelp
Just FYI they aren't letting you eat inside and you need to call first to even be let in the door. Google said dine in was available.

Yelp
$40 for a meal lol I was hungry but never again. I had oxtails they were good and tender but the SIDES WERE SMALL AND TERRIBLE. I had potatoe salad - no flavor, cabbage - NO FLAVOR, NO MEAT and greens NO MEAT. You aren't able to dine in, you have to order outside and get your meal once they call u. That's a scam I see now lol because the portions and food isn't good. My friend had catfish and complained about his sides as well. First time and last time lol I used to go to the location on the strip years ago before it closed down. That location was GREAT

Mellow D.

Yelp
The food was better than some of the previous reviews, however, the ability to see or smell the food is a no- no and the wait wasn't bad. Only other problem is you have to order ahead and wait to be called before you get the food and it's only service from the door. If you're not a big eater go with the half plates cause the full plate is to much for 1 person.

Yelp
Nasty food all dried out. They didnt put gravy on my smothered pork chops which is dry as heck or give me my side of greens, the dressing was nothing more than crumbled dry cornbread with NO gravy. Tried calling to complain and nobody answered or they sent the call to voicemail. Save your money

Yelp
Came from Cali to visit Vegas and wanted to see if I could find some good soul food and I ran across M&M's I figured I was good and the food would be good as soul food is hard to come by . Well I pulled up they only take Take out you have to call there is no greeting or welcoming to appreciate you as a customer that should have been my first clue and the second clue is that they had everything on the menu available. Now if you go to any soul food place they always run out of something which is a sign to me that the food must be greenest. Against my first thought I gave them I try I ordered two fried chicken dinners at 4:08 pm I was advised could be 25-45 mins.. ok fine .. at 5:08 I called to see what was taking so long and was advised they are bagging it up .. 5:15 I was given my drinks .. 5:20 I was given one bag of food and 5:27 I was given the rest .. I got back to my room and my order was incorrect ... the food was HORRIBLE and seasoning was not there .. $70 down the drain then I look at the receipt they charge every item an to go fee. If you want good soul food don't go here it's a waste of time food is horrible and customer service is not there I would not recommend and they should not hold the name M&M because they are not using anything g similar to a soul food recipe!

Yelp
I went on my last day in Vegas with my family of seven and I bought five chicken and waffle meals. Let's just say we were better off eating McDonald's in North Las Vegas it's not worth it. None of the food was good. The waffles were under cooked the chicken had no seasoning and the prices are not the same as online they got me for $130 and I threw my food away. The Kool-aid was $6, food was $21.99+ taxes. I really feel bad for anyone that spends their money here.

Rebekah H.

Yelp
Went here a long time ago and it was good then. Looks like it's closed now. Enjoyed the chicken and waffles.

Sadie T.

Yelp
I was looking for chitterlings since I could not find any to clean and cook for myself. I ordered the chitterlings plate which was $40 plus taxes. They smelled good and looked decent. While I was eating them, they had a gummy feel to them not the tenderness they should be. While eating them I found not so appetizing pieces that shows me they did not clean them well. This seems as though they bought the pre-cleaned bag and just cooked them with no extra cleaning. They were all chopped up in to tiny pieces. I would rather take the extra time to cook and clean them myself. I would not recommend.

Alicia H.

Yelp
Very disappointed they are closed every time I come to Vegas && I have been house haunting so I been here a lot this year! THEY ARE CLOSED EVERY TIME! I went by today no answer door was locked etc like wtf. I'm over it.
