"Mister O’s in Studio City seems to be taking its new role as a bottle shop seriously by flexing an inventory of over 80 bottles. And the restaurant is currently running a deal where buying three bottles gets you one free bottle of equal or lesser value." - Caroline Pardilla
"Mister O’s is already expanding its repertoire, adding lunch and brunch service as of this week." - Farley Elliott
"Mister O’s is already getting plenty of attention in Studio City. The restaurant only officially opened last night, but is already headlining a new Food & Wine piece calling the place one of LA’s “most promising new restaurants.”" - Farley Elliott
"Mister O’s, a new restaurant in Studio City, has emerged from the former Take a Bao space on Ventura Boulevard. It is the creation of restaurateur Michael Cardenas, who has been involved in significant local projects like Downtown's Lazy Ox Canteen. The restaurant features a casual new American vibe with a focus on ingredients, helmed by chef Mario Alberto. The menu includes modern California touches, such as pasta, grilled meats, and vegetables. The cocktail bar, led by Rafael Jonathan Barba, emphasizes whiskey and complements the laid-back atmosphere of the lounge and dining areas. Mister O’s opens on September 4, with daily dinner hours from 5:30 p.m. until late and a weekday happy hour from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m." - Farley Elliott
"Here’s a funky turn of events: Michael Cardenas, new leaseholder for the shuttered Take a Bao space in Studio City, could be using the address to bring back one of his most famous Los Angeles restaurants. Even more directly, the copy at the top of the restaurant’s Instagram page spells it all out, saying the new Mister O’s restaurant will be a 'rebirthing' of Lazy Ox Canteen. It’s unclear if that means a one-for-one menu recreation or something more inspired by what was happening all those years ago in Little Tokyo; Eater reached out Cardenas directly to ask, but hasn’t heard back. In the meantime, keep watching the Mister O’s/old Lazy Ox Instagram page for food updates, and a potential opening sometime this spring." - Farley Elliott
